   וְעַל־דְּבַרve/AL-de/VARand concerningזִבְחֵיziv/CHEthe sacrifices ofהָאֱלִילִיםha/e/li/LIMthe idolsיָדַעְנוּya/DA/nuwe knowכִּיkithatכֻלָּנוּkhul/LA/nuall of usיֶשׁ־לָנוּyesh-LA/nuhaveדָעַתDA/atknowledgeהַדַּעַתhad/DA/atthe knowledgeתַּגְבִּיהַּtag/BI/ahlifts upלֵבlevthe heartוְהַחֶסֶדve/ha/CHE/sedand charityהוּאhuitהַבּוֹנֶה׃hab/bo/NEbuilds up

   Now as touching things offered unto idols, we know that we all have knowledge. Knowledge puffeth up, but charity edifieth.

   וְאִם־יַחְשֹׁבve/IM-yach/SHOVand if thinksאִישׁishany manכִּיkithatהוּאhuheיֹדֵעַyo/DE/aknowsדָּבָרda/VARa thingעוֹדֶנּוּo/DEN/nuhe stillלֹא־יָדַעlo-ya/DAdoes not knowמְאוּמָהme/U/maanythingכַּאֲשֶׁרka/a/SHERasרָאוּיra/UYis fittingלוֹlofor himלָדַעַת׃la/DA/atto know

   And if any man think that he knoweth any thing, he knoweth nothing yet as he ought to know.

   אֲבָלa/VALbutהָאֹהֵבha/o/HEVthe one who lovesאֶת־הָאֱלֹהִיםet-ha/e/lo/HIMGodהוּאhuheנוֹדַעno/DAis knownלוֹ׃loto Him

   But if any man love God, the same is known of him.

   וְעַל־דְּבַרve/AL-de/VARand concerningאֱכֹלe/KHOLeatingמִזִּבְחֵיmiz/ziv/CHEfrom the sacrifices ofהָאֱלִילִיםha/e/li/LIMthe idolsיָדַעְנוּya/DA/nuwe knowכִּי־אֵיןki-enthat there is noאֱלִילe/LILidolבָּעוֹלָםba/o/LAMin the worldוְאֵיןve/ENand there is noאֱלֹהִיםe/lo/HIMGodבִּלְתִּיbil/TIexceptאֶחָד׃e/CHADone

   As concerning therefore the eating of those things that are offered in sacrifice unto idols, we know that an idol is nothing in the world, and that there is none other God but one.

   כִּיkiforגַּםgamevenאִם־יֵשׁim-yeshif there isהַנִּקְרָאִיםhan/nik/ra/IMwho are calledאֱלֹהִיםe/lo/HIMgodsאִםimwhetherבַּשָּׁמַיִםbash/sha/MA/yimin heavenוְאִםve/IMorבָּאָרֶץba/A/retson the earthכַּאֲשֶׁרka/a/SHERasיֵשׁyeshthere areאֱלֹהִיםe/lo/HIMgodsרַבִּיםrab/BIMmanyוַאֲדֹנִיםva/a/do/NIMand lordsרַבִּים׃rab/BIMmany

   For though there be that are called gods, whether in heaven or in earth, (as there be gods many, and lords many,)

   אׇמְנָםom/NAMyetלָנוּLA/nuto usרַק־אֵלrak-elonly Godאֶחָדe/CHADoneהָאָבha/AVthe Fatherאֲשֶׁרa/SHERof whomהַכֹּלhak/KOLallמִמֶּנּוּmim/MEN/nuis from Himוַאֲנַחְנוּva/a/NACH/nuand weבּוֹboin himוְאָדוֹןve/a/DONand Lordאֶחָדe/CHADoneיֵשׁוּעַYe/SHU/aJesusהַמָּשִׁיחַham/Ma/SHI/achthe Messiahאֲשֶׁרa/SHERby whomהַכֹּלhak/KOLallעַל־יָדוֹal-ya/DOis through himוַאֲנַחְנוּva/a/NACH/nuand weעַל־יָדוֹ׃al-ya/DOthrough him

   But to us there is but one God, the Father, of whom are all things, and we in him; and one Lord Jesus Christ, by whom are all things, and we by him.

   אַךְakhbutלֹאlonotבְכֻלָּםve/khul/LAMin all of themהַדָּעַתhad/DA/atis the knowledgeכִּיkiforיֵשׁyeshthere areזֹכְרִיםzokh/RIMwho rememberעוֹדodstillאֶת־הָאֱלִילet-ha/e/LILthe idolוְאֹכְלִיםve/okh/LIMand eatאֹתוֹo/TOitכְּזֶבַחke/ZE/vachas a sacrifice ofאֱלִילe/LILan idolוְלִבָּםve/lib/BAMand their heartהֶחָלוּשׁhe/cha/LUSHthat is weakנִגְאָל׃nig/ALis defiled

   Howbeit there is not in every man that knowledge: for some with conscience of the idol unto this hour eat it as a thing offered unto an idol; and their conscience being weak is defiled.

   וְהַמַּאֲכָלve/ham/ma/a/KHALand foodלֹאlonotיְקָרֵבye/ka/REVbrings nearאֹתָנוּo/TA/nuusלֵאלֹהִיםle/lo/HIMto Godכִּיkiforאִםimifנֹאכַלno/KHALwe eatאֵין־לָנוּen-LA/nuwe have noיִתְרוֹןyit/RONadvantageוְאִם־לֹאve/IM-loand if notנֹאכַלno/KHALwe eatלֹאlonotנִגָּרֵעַ׃nig/ga/RE/aare we diminished

   But meat commendeth us not to God: for neither, if we eat, are we the better; neither, if we eat not, are we the worse.

9. 9

   אֲבָלa/VALbutהִשָּׁמְרוּhish/sha/me/RUtake heedפֶּן־יִהְיֶהpen-yih/YElest becomeרִשְׁיוֹנְכֶםrish/yon/KHEMyour rightהַזֶּהhaz/ZEthisלְמִכְשֹׁלle/mikh/SHOLa stumblingלַחַלָּשִׁים׃la/chal/la/SHIMto the weak

   But take heed lest by any means this liberty of yours become a stumblingblock to them that are weak.

10. 10

    כִּיkiforאִם־יִרְאֶהim-yir/Eif seesאִישׁishany manאֹתְךָot/KHAyouאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhoלְךָle/KHAhaveהַדַּעַתhad/DA/atthe knowledgeמֵסֵבme/SEVrecliningבְּבֵיתbe/VETin the house ofאֱלִילִיםe/li/LIMidolsהֲלֹאha/LOwill notלֵבlevthe heart ofהַחַלָּשׁha/chal/LASHthe weakיָעֹזya/OZbe emboldenedלֶאֱכֹלle/e/KHOLto eatמִזִּבְחֵיmiz/ziv/CHEfrom the sacrifices ofאֱלִילִים׃e/li/LIMidols

    For if any man see thee which hast knowledge sit at meat in the idol's temple, shall not the conscience of him which is weak be emboldened to eat those things which are offered to idols;

11. 11

    וְיֹאבַדve/yo/VADand will perishעַל־יְדֵיal-ye/DEthroughדַעְתְּךָda/te/KHAyour knowledgeאָחִיךָa/CHI/khayour brotherהַחַלָּשׁha/chal/LASHthe weakאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthatלְמַעֲנוֹle/ma/a/NOfor his sakeמֵתmetdiedהַמָּשִׁיחַ׃ham/Ma/SHI/achthe Messiah

    And through thy knowledge shall the weak brother perish, for whom Christ died?

12. 12

    וְאִם־כָּכָהve/IM-KA/khaand if soתֶּחֶטְאוּte/chet/Uyou sinלַאֲחֵיכֶםla/a/che/KHEMagainst your brothersוְתַכְאִיבוּve/takh/i/VUand painאֶת־לִבָּםet-lib/BAMtheir heartהֶחָלוּשׁhe/cha/LUSHthat is weakלַמָּשִׁיחַlam/Ma/SHI/achagainst the Messiahאַתֶּםat/TEMyouחֹטְאִים׃chot/IMsin

    But when ye sin so against the brethren, and wound their weak conscience, ye sin against Christ.

13. 13

    עַל־כֵּןal-kenthereforeאִם־מַאֲכָלim-ma/a/KHALif foodמַכְשִׁילmakh/SHILmakes stumbleאֶת־אָחִיet-a/CHImy brotherלֹא־אֹכַלlo-o/KHALI will not eatבָּשָׂרba/SARfleshלְעוֹלָםle/o/LAMforeverפֶּן־אַכְשִׁילpen-akh/SHILlest I make stumbleאֶת־אָחִי׃et-a/CHImy brother

    Wherefore, if meat make my brother to offend, I will eat no flesh while the world standeth, lest I make my brother to offend.
