   Verily I say unto you my friends, fear not, let your hearts be comforted; yea, rejoice evermore, and in everything give thanks;

   Waiting patiently on the Lord, for your prayers have entered into the ears of the Lord of Sabaoth, and are recorded with this seal and testament—the Lord hath sworn and decreed that they shall be granted.

   לָכֵןla/KHENthereforeהוּאhuheנוֹתֵןno/TENgivesלָכֶםla/KHEMyouהַבְטָחָהhav/ta/CHApromiseזֹאתzotthisבִּבְרִיתbiv/RITwith a covenantנֶאֱמָנָהne/e/ma/NAimmutableאֲשֶׁר־יְקֻיָּמוּa/SHER-ye/kuy/ya/MUthat they shall be fulfilledוְכׇל־אֲשֶׁרve/KHOL-a/SHERand all things wherewithעֻנֵּיתֶםun/ne/TEMyou have been afflictedיֵעָשֶׂהye/a/SEshall workיַחְדָּוyach/DAVtogetherלְטוֹבַתְכֶםle/to/vat/KHEMfor your goodוְלִכְבוֹדve/likh/VODand to the gloryשְׁמִיshe/MIof my nameאָמַרa/MARsaysיְהוָה׃Adonaithe Lord

   Therefore, he giveth this promise unto you, with an immutable covenant that they shall be fulfilled; and all things wherewith you have been afflicted shall work together for your good, and to my name's glory, saith the Lord.

   וְעַתָּהve/at/TAand nowאָמֵןa/MENverilyאֲנִיa/NIIאֹמֵרo/MERsayלָכֶםla/KHEMunto youעַל־דְּבַרal-de/VARconcerningחֻקֵּיchuk/KEthe lawsהָאָרֶץha/A/retsof the landרְצוֹנִיre/tso/NIit is my willאֲשֶׁר־עַמִּיa/SHER-am/MIthat my peopleיִשְׁמֹרyish/MORshould observeלַעֲשׂוֹתla/a/SOTto doכֹּלkolall thingsאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhatsoeverאֲצַוֵּם׃a/tsav/VEMI command them

   And now, verily I say unto you concerning the laws of the land, it is my will that my people should observe to do all things whatsoever I command them.

   וְחֹקve/CHOKand lawהָאָרֶץha/A/retsof the landהַיְסוֹדִיhay/so/DIwhich is constitutionalהַתּוֹמֵךְhat/to/MEKHsupportingבְּעִקַּרbe/ik/KARin the principleהַחֵרוּתha/che/RUTof that freedomלִשְׁמֹרlish/MORin maintainingזְכֻיּוֹתze/khuy/YOTrightsוִיתָרוֹנוֹתvi/ta/ro/NOTand privilegesהוּאhubelongsלְכׇל־הָאָדָםle/KHOL-ha/a/DAMto all mankindוְצָדֵקve/tsa/DEKand is justifiableלְפָנָי׃le/fa/NAYbefore me

   And that law of the land which is constitutional, supporting that principle of freedom in maintaining rights and privileges, belongs to all mankind, and is justifiable before me.

   לָכֵןla/KHENthereforeאֲנִיa/NIIיְהוָהAdonaithe Lordמַצְדִּיקmats/DIKjustifyאֶתְכֶםet/KHEMyouוְאֶת־אֲחֵיכֶםve/ET-a/che/KHEMand your brethrenבִּכְנֵסִיָּתִיbikh/ne/siy/ya/TIof my churchלִהְיוֹתlih/YOTin beingרֵעִיםre/IMfriendsלַחֹקla/CHOKto that lawהַיְסוֹדִיhay/so/DIconstitutionalבָּאָרֶץ׃ba/a/RETSof the land

   Therefore, I, the Lord, justify you, and your brethren of my church, in befriending that law which is the constitutional law of the land;

   וּבְנוֹגֵעַu/ve/no/GE/aand as pertainingלְחֹקle/CHOKto lawאָדָםa/DAMof manכׇּל־הַיֹּתֵרkol-hay/yo/TERwhatsoever is moreאוֹoorהַפָּחוֹתhap/pa/CHOTlessמִזֶּהmiz/ZEthan thisמִןminofהָרָעha/RAevilבָּא׃bacomes

   And as pertaining to law of man, whatsoever is more or less than this, cometh of evil.

   אֲנִיa/NIIיְהוָהAdonaithe Lordאֱלֹהִיםe/lo/HIMGodעֲשִׂיתִיכֶםa/si/ti/KHEMmake youחׇפְשִׁיםchof/SHIMfreeלָכֵןla/KHENthereforeחׇפְשִׁיםchof/SHIMfreeאַתֶּםat/TEMyou areבֶּאֱמֶתbe/e/METindeedוְגַםve/GAMand alsoהַחֹקha/CHOKthe lawעֹשֶׂהo/SEmakesאֶתְכֶםet/KHEMyouחׇפְשִׁים׃chof/SHIMfree

   I, the Lord God, make you free, therefore ye are free indeed; and the law also maketh you free.

   אַךְakhneverthelessבִּמְשֹׁלbim/SHOLwhen ruleרְשָׁעִיםre/sha/IMthe wickedהָעָםha/AMthe peopleיֵאָנָח׃ye/a/NACHmourn

   Nevertheless, when the wicked rule the people mourn.

    לָכֵןla/KHENwhereforeאַנְשֵׁיan/SHEmenאֱמֶתe/METof honestוַחֲכָמִיםva/cha/kha/MIMand wise menיְבֻקְּשׁוּye/vuk/ke/SHUshould be sought forהֵיטֵבhe/TEVdiligentlyוְאַנְשֵׁיve/an/SHEand menטוֹבtovof goodוַחֲכָמִיםva/cha/kha/MIMand wise menתִּשְׁמְרוּtish/me/RUyou should observeלְהַעֲמִידle/ha/a/MIDto upholdוְאִם־לֹאve/IM-lootherwiseכׇּל־הַפָּחוֹתkol-hap/pa/CHOTwhatsoever is lessמֵאֵלֶּהme/EL/lethan theseמִןminofהָרָעha/RAevilבָּא׃bacomes

    Wherefore, honest men and wise men should be sought for diligently, and good men and wise men ye should observe to uphold; otherwise whatsoever is less than these cometh of evil.

    וַאֲנִיva/a/NIand Iנֹתֵןno/TENgiveלָכֶםla/KHEMyouמִצְוָהmits/VAa commandmentלַעֲזֹבla/a/ZOVthat you shall forsakeכׇּל־רָעkol-raall evilוּלְדׇבְקָהu/le/dov/KAand cleaveבְכׇל־טוֹבve/KHOL-tovunto all goodוְלִחְיוֹתve/lich/YOTthat you shall liveבְּכׇל־דָּבָרbe/KHOL-da/VARby every wordהַיֹּצֵאhay/yo/TSEwhich proceeds forthמִפִּיmip/PIout of the mouthאֱלֹהִים׃e/lo/HIMof God

    And I give unto you a commandment, that ye shall forsake all evil and cleave unto all good, that ye shall live by every word which proceedeth forth out of the mouth of God.

    כִּיkiforיִתֵּןyit/TENhe will giveלַנֶּאֱמָנִיםlan/ne/e/ma/NIMunto the faithfulקַוkavlineלָקָוla/KAVupon lineצַוtsavpreceptלָצָוla/TSAVupon preceptוַאֲנַסֶּכֶםva/a/nas/se/KHEMand I will try youוּבָחַנְתִּיu/va/chan/TIand proveאֶתְכֶםet/KHEMyouבָּזֹאת׃ba/ZOTherewith

    For he will give unto the faithful line upon line, precept upon precept; and I will try you and prove you herewith.

    וְכׇל־הַמַּנִּיחַve/KHOL-ham/man/NI/achand whoso lays downנַפְשׁוֹnaf/SHOhis lifeלְמַעֲנִיle/ma/a/NIin my causeלְמַעַןle/MA/anfor the sake ofשְׁמִיshe/MImy nameיִמְצָאֶנָּהyim/tsa/en/NAshall find itשֵׁנִיתshe/NITagainגַּםgamevenחַיֵּיchay/YElifeעוֹלָם׃o/LAMeternal

    And whoso layeth down his life in my cause, for my name's sake, shall find it again, even life eternal.

14. 14

    לָכֵןla/KHENthereforeאַל־תִּירְאוּal-ti/re/Ube not afraidמֵאֹיְבֵיכֶםme/oy/ve/KHEMof your enemiesכִּיkiforגָזַרְתִּיga/zar/TII decreedבְלִבִּיve/lib/BIin my heartאָמַרa/MARsaysיְהוָהAdonaithe Lordלְנַסּוֹתְכֶםle/nas/sot/KHEMthat I will prove youבְּכֹלbe/KHOLin all thingsאִםimwhetherתַּעַמְדוּta/am/DUyou will abideבִבְרִיתִיviv/ri/TIin my covenantעַדadeven untoהַמָּוֶתham/MA/vetdeathלְמַעַןle/MA/anthatתִּמָּצְאוּtim/ma/tse/Uyou may be foundרְאוּיִים׃re/u/YIMworthy

    Therefore, be not afraid of your enemies, for I have decreed in my heart, saith the Lord, that I will prove you in all things, whether you will abide in my covenant, even unto death, that you may be found worthy.

15. 15

    כִּיkiforאִםimifלֹאlonotתַעַמְדוּta/am/DUyou will abideבִבְרִיתִיviv/ri/TIin my covenantאֵינְכֶםe/ne/KHEMyou are notרְאוּיִיםre/u/YIMworthyלִי׃liof me

    For if ye will not abide in my covenant ye are not worthy of me.

16. 16

    לָכֵןla/KHENthereforeמַאֲסוּma/a/SUrenounceבַמִּלְחָמָהvam/mil/cha/MAwarוְקִרְאוּve/kir/Uand proclaimשָׁלוֹםsha/LOMpeaceוְדִרְשׁוּve/dir/SHUand seekהֵיטֵבhe/TEVdiligentlyלְהָשִׁיבle/ha/SHIVto turnלֵבlevthe heartsבָּנִיםba/NIMof the childrenעַל־אֲבוֹתָםal-a/vo/TAMto their fathersוְלֵבve/LEVand the heartsאָבוֹתa/VOTof the fathersעַל־בָּנִים׃al-ba/NIMto the children

    Therefore, renounce war and proclaim peace, and seek diligently to turn the hearts of the children to their fathers, and the hearts of the fathers to the children;

17. 17

    וְגַםve/GAMand againלֵבlevthe heartsהַיְּהוּדִיםhay/Ye/hu/DIMof the Jewsאֶל־הַנְּבִיאִיםel-han/ne/vi/IMunto the prophetsוְלֵבve/LEVand the heartsהַנְּבִיאִיםhan/ne/vi/IMof prophetsאֶל־הַיְּהוּדִיםel-Hay/ye/hu/DIMunto the Jewsפֶּןpenlestאָבוֹאa/VOI comeוְהִכֵּיתִיve/hik/ke/TIand smiteאֶת־כׇל־הָאָרֶץet-khol-ha/A/retsthe whole earthחֵרֶםCHE/remwith a curseוְכׇל־בָּשָׂרve/KHOL-ba/SARand all fleshיִכְלֶהyikh/LEbe consumedלְפָנָי׃le/fa/NAYbefore me

    And again, the hearts of the Jews unto the prophets, and the prophets unto the Jews; lest I come and smite the whole earth with a curse, and all flesh be consumed before me.

18. 18

    אַל־יִבָּהֵלal-yib/ba/HELlet not be troubledלְבַבְכֶםle/vav/KHEMyour heartsכִּיkiforבְּבֵיתbe/VETin houseאָבִיA/VImy Father'sמְעוֹנוֹתme/o/NOTmansionsרַבּוֹתrab/BOTmanyוַאֲנִיva/a/NIand Iהֲכִינֹתִיha/khi/no/TIpreparedלָכֶםla/KHEMfor youמָקוֹםma/KOMa placeוּבַאֲשֶׁרu/va/a/SHERand whereאָבִיA/VImy Fatherוָאֲנִיva/a/NIand I amשָׁםshamthereתִּהְיוּtih/YUyou shall beגַםgamalsoאַתֶּם׃at/TEMyou

    Let not your hearts be troubled; for in my Father's house are many mansions, and I have prepared a place for you; and where my Father and I am, there ye shall be also.

19. 19

    הִנֵּהhin/NEbeholdאֲנִיa/NIIיְהוָהAdonaithe Lordאֵינֶנִּיe/NEN/niam notחָפֵץcha/FETSwell pleasedבְּרַבִּיםbe/rab/BIMwith manyבַּכְּנֵסִיָּהbak/ke/ne/siy/YAwho are in the churchבְּקִרְטְלַנְד׃be/Kir/te/LANDat Kirtland

    Behold, I, the Lord, am not well pleased with many who are in the church at Kirtland;

20. 20

    כִּיkiforאֵינָםe/NAMthey do notעוֹזְבִיםoz/VIMforsakeחַטֹּאתֵיהֶםchat/to/te/HEMtheir sinsוְדַרְכֵיהֶםve/dar/khe/HEMand their waysהָרָעִיםha/ra/IMwickedגַּאֲוַתga/a/VATthe prideלְבָבָםle/va/VAMof their heartsוּבִצְעָםu/vits/AMand their covetousnessוְכׇל־תּוֹעֲבוֹתֵיהֶםve/KHOL-to/a/vo/te/HEMand all their detestable thingsוְאֵינָםve/e/NAMand notשׁוֹמְרִיםshom/RIMobserveאֶת־דִּבְרֵיet-div/REthe wordsהַחׇכְמָהha/chokh/MAof wisdomוְחַיֵּיve/chay/YEand lifeעוֹלָםo/LAMeternalאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhichנָתַתִּיna/TAT/tiI gaveלָהֶם׃la/HEMthem

    For they do not forsake their sins, and their wicked ways, the pride of their hearts, and their covetousness, and all their detestable things, and observe the words of wisdom and eternal life which I have given unto them.

21. 21

    אָמֵןa/MENverilyאֲנִיa/NIIאֹמֵרo/MERsayלָכֶםla/KHEMunto youאֲנִיa/NIthat IיְהוָהAdonaithe Lordאֲיַסְּרֵםa/yas/se/REMwill chasten themוְאֶעֱשֶׂהve/e/e/SEand will doכִרְצוֹנִיkhir/tso/NIwhatsoever I listאִםimifלֹאlonotיָשׁוּבוּya/SHU/vuthey do repentוְיִשְׁמְרוּve/yish/me/RUand observeכֹּלkolall thingsאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhatsoeverאָמַרְתִּיa/MAR/tiI saidלָהֶם׃la/HEMunto them

    Verily I say unto you, that I, the Lord, will chasten them and will do whatsoever I list, if they do not repent and observe all things whatsoever I have said unto them.

    וְעוֹדve/ODand againאֲנִיa/NIIאֹמֵרo/MERsayלָכֶםla/KHEMunto youאִםimifתִּשְׁמְרוּtish/me/RUyou observeלַעֲשׂוֹתla/a/SOTto doכֹּלkolall thingsאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhatsoeverאֲצַוֶּהa/tsav/VEI command youאֲנִיa/NIIיְהוָהAdonaithe Lordאָסִירa/SIRwill turn awayמִכֶּםmik/KEMfrom youכׇּל־חֵמָהkol-che/MAall wrathוָזַעַםva/ZA/amand indignationוְשַׁעֲרֵיve/sha/a/REand the gatesשְׁאוֹלshe/OLof hellלֹאlonotיִגְבְּרוּyig/be/RUshall prevailעֲלֵיכֶם׃a/le/KHEMagainst you

    And again I say unto you, if ye observe to do whatsoever I command you, I, the Lord, will turn away all wrath and indignation from you, and the gates of hell shall not prevail against you.

    עַתָּהat/TAnowאֲדַבֵּרa/dab/BERI speakאֲלֵיכֶםa/le/KHEMunto youעַל־אוֹדוֹתal-o/DOTconcerningמִשְׁפְּחוֹתֵיכֶםmish/pe/cho/te/KHEMyour familiesאִםimifיַכּוּyak/KUwill smiteאֲנָשִׁיםa/na/SHIMmenאֶתְכֶםet/KHEMyouאוֹoorמִשְׁפְּחוֹתֵיכֶםmish/pe/cho/te/KHEMyour familiesפַּעַםPA/amonceאַחַתa/CHAToneוְתִשְׂאוּve/tis/Uand you bearבְּאֹרֶךְbe/O/rekhpatientlyרוּחַRU/achin spiritוְלֹאve/LOand notתְחָרְפוּte/cha/re/FUrevileאוֹתָםo/TAMagainst themוְלֹאve/LOneitherתְבַקְּשׁוּte/vak/ke/SHUseekנָקָםna/KAMrevengeתְּשֻׁלְּמוּ׃te/shul/le/MUyou shall be rewarded

    Now, I speak unto you concerning your families—if men will smite you, or your families, once, and ye bear it patiently and revile not against them, neither seek revenge, ye shall be rewarded;

24. 24

    אַךְakhbutאִםimifלֹאlonotתִשְׂאוּtis/Uyou bearבְּאֹרֶךְbe/O/rekhpatientlyרוּחַRU/achin spiritיֵחָשֵׁבye/cha/SHEVit shall be accountedלָכֶםla/KHEMunto youכְּמִדָּהke/mid/DAas a measureצֹדֶקֶתtso/DE/ketjustלָכֶם׃la/KHEMunto you

    But if ye bear it not patiently, it shall be accounted unto you as being meted out as a just measure unto you.

25. 25

    וְעוֹדve/ODand againאִםimifיַכֶּהyak/KEshall smiteאֹיִבְכֶםo/yiv/KHEMyour enemyאֶתְכֶםet/KHEMyouפַּעַםPA/amtimeשֵׁנִיתshe/NITthe secondוְלֹאve/LOand notתְחָרְפוּte/cha/re/FUyou revileאֶת־אֹיִבְכֶםet-o/yiv/KHEMagainst your enemyוְתִשְׂאוּve/tis/Uand bearבְּאֹרֶךְbe/O/rekhpatientlyרוּחַRU/achin spiritשְׂכַרְכֶםse/khar/KHEMyour rewardמֵאָהme/Aan hundredשְׁעָרִים׃she/a/RIMfold

    And again, if your enemy shall smite you the second time, and you revile not against your enemy, and bear it patiently, your reward shall be an hundred-fold.

    וְעוֹדve/ODand againאִםimifיַכֶּהyak/KEhe shall smiteאֶתְכֶםet/KHEMyouפַּעַםPA/amtimeשְׁלִישִׁיתshe/li/SHITthe thirdוְתִשְׂאוּve/tis/Uand you bearבְּאֹרֶךְbe/O/rekhpatientlyרוּחַRU/achin spiritיֻכְפַּלyukh/PALshall be doubledשְׂכַרְכֶםse/khar/KHEMyour rewardאַרְבַּעar/BAfourפְּעָמִים׃pe/a/MIMfold

    And again, if he shall smite you the third time, and ye bear it patiently, your reward shall be doubled unto you four-fold;

27. 27

    וְשָׁלֹשׁve/sha/LOSHand threeהָעֵדֻיּוֹתha/e/duy/YOTtestimoniesהָאֵלֶּהha/EL/letheseתַּעֲמֹדְנָהta/a/mod/NAshall standעַלalagainstאֹיִבְכֶםo/yiv/KHEMyour enemyאִםimifלֹאlonotיָשׁוּבya/SHUVhe repentוְלֹאve/LOand notיִמָּחוּ׃yim/ma/CHUshall be blotted out

    And these three testimonies shall stand against your enemy if he repent not, and shall not be blotted out.

    וְעַתָּהve/at/TAand nowאָמֵןa/MENverilyאֲנִיa/NIIאֹמֵרo/MERsayלָכֶםla/KHEMunto youאִםimifיִמָּלֵטyim/ma/LETshall escapeהָאוֹיֵבha/o/YEVthe enemyהַהוּאha/HUthatמִנִּקְמָתִיmin/nik/ma/TImy vengeanceוְלֹאve/LOthat notיוּבָאyu/VAhe be broughtלְמִשְׁפָּטle/mish/PATinto judgmentלְפָנַיle/fa/NAYbefore meתִּרְאוּtir/Uthen you shall see to itלְהַזְהִירle/haz/HIRthat you warnאוֹתוֹo/TOhimבִּשְׁמִיbish/MIin my nameאֲשֶׁר־לֹאa/SHER-lothat notיָבֹאya/VOhe comeעוֹדodno moreעֲלֵיכֶםa/le/KHEMupon youוְלֹאve/LOneitherעַלaluponמִשְׁפַּחְתְּכֶםmish/pach/te/KHEMyour familyגַּםgamevenבְּנֵיbe/NEthe childrenבְנֵיכֶםve/ne/KHEMof your childrenעַדaduntoהַדּוֹרhad/DORthe generationהַשְּׁלִישִׁיhash/she/li/SHIthirdוְהָרְבִיעִי׃ve/ha/re/vi/Iand fourth

    And now, verily I say unto you, if that enemy shall escape my vengeance, that he be not brought into judgment before me, then ye shall see to it that ye warn him in my name, that he come no more upon you, neither upon your family, even your children's children unto the third and fourth generation.

    וְאָזve/AZand thenאִםimifיָבֹאya/VOhe shall comeעֲלֵיכֶםa/le/KHEMupon youאוֹoorבְנֵיכֶםve/ne/KHEMyour childrenאוֹoorבְּנֵיbe/NEthe childrenבְנֵיכֶםve/ne/KHEMof your childrenעַדaduntoהַדּוֹרhad/DORthe generationהַשְּׁלִישִׁיhash/she/li/SHIthirdוְהָרְבִיעִיve/ha/re/vi/Iand fourthהִנְנִיhin/NIbehold Iמָסַרְתִּיma/sar/TIdeliveredאֹיִבְךָo/yiv/KHAyour enemyבְּיָדֶיךָ׃be/ya/de/KHAinto your hands

    And then, if he shall come upon you or your children, or your children's children unto the third and fourth generation, I have delivered thine enemy into thine hands;

    וְאָזve/AZand thenאִםimifתַּחְמֹלtach/MOLyou will spareעָלָיוa/LAYVhimתְּשֻׁלַּםte/shul/LAMyou shall be rewardedעַל־צִדְקָתֶךָal-tsid/ka/TE/khafor your righteousnessוְגַםve/GAMand alsoבָּנֶיךָba/NE/khayour childrenוּבְנֵיu/ve/NEand the childrenבָנֶיךָva/NE/khaof your childrenעַדaduntoהַדּוֹרhad/DORthe generationהַשְּׁלִישִׁיhash/she/li/SHIthirdוְהָרְבִיעִי׃ve/ha/re/vi/Iand fourth

    And then if thou wilt spare him, thou shalt be rewarded for thy righteousness; and also thy children and thy children's children unto the third and fourth generation.

    אַךְakhneverthelessאֹיִבְךָo/yiv/KHAyour enemyבְיָדֶיךָve/ya/DE/khais in your handsוְאִםve/IMand ifתְּשַׁלֵּם־לוֹte/shal/LEM-loyou reward himכְּמַעֲשָׂיוke/ma/a/SAYVaccording to his worksצָדַקְתָּtsa/DAK/tayou are justifiedאִםimifבִּקֵּשׁbik/KESHhe soughtנַפְשְׁךָnaf/she/KHAyour lifeוְנַפְשְׁךָve/naf/she/KHAand your lifeבְּכַפּוֹbe/khap/POis endangeredמִמֶּנּוּmim/MEN/nuby himאֹיִבְךָo/yiv/KHAyour enemyבְיָדֶיךָve/ya/DE/khais in your handsוְצָדַקְתָּ׃ve/tsa/dak/TAand you are justified

    Nevertheless, thine enemy is in thine hands; and if thou rewardest him according to his works thou art justified; if he has sought thy life, and thy life is endangered by him, thine enemy is in thine hands and thou art justified.

32. 32

    הִנֵּהhin/NEbeholdזֶהzethis isהַחֹקha/CHOKthe lawאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhichנָתַתִּיna/TAT/tiI gaveלְעַבְדִּיle/av/DIunto my servantנֶפִיNE/fiNephiוְלַאֲבוֹתֶיךָve/la/a/vo/te/KHAand your fathersיוֹסֵףYo/SEFJosephוְיַעֲקֹבve/Ya/a/KOVand Jacobוְיִצְחָקve/Yits/CHAKand Isaacוְאַבְרָהָםve/Av/ra/HAMand Abrahamוּלְכׇל־נְבִיאַיu/le/KHOL-ne/vi/AYand all mine prophetsוּשְׁלִיחַיu/she/li/CHAYand apostlesהַקַּדְמוֹנִים׃hak/kad/mo/NIMancient

    Behold, this is the law I gave unto my servant Nephi, and thy fathers, Joseph, and Jacob, and Isaac, and Abraham, and all mine ancient prophets and apostles.

33. 33

    וְעוֹדve/ODand againזֶהzethis isהַחֹקha/CHOKthe lawאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthatנָתַתִּיna/TAT/tiI gaveלְקַדְמוֹנַיle/kad/mo/NAYunto my ancientsאֲשֶׁר־לֹאa/SHER-lothat notיֵצְאוּyets/Uthey should go outלְמִלְחָמָהle/mil/cha/MAunto battleעַלalagainstכׇּל־גּוֹיkol-goyany nationמִשְׁפָּחָהmish/pa/CHAkindredלָשׁוֹןla/SHONtongueאוֹoorעָםampeopleכִּי־אִםki-imsaveאֲנִיa/NIIיְהוָהAdonaithe Lordצִוִּיתִים׃tsiv/vi/TIMcommanded them

    And again, this is the law that I gave unto mine ancients, that they should not go out unto battle against any nation, kindred, tongue, or people, save I, the Lord, commanded them.

34. 34

    וְאִםve/IMand ifגּוֹיgoyany nationלָשׁוֹןla/SHONtongueאוֹoorעָםampeopleיַכְרִיזyakh/RIZshould proclaimמִלְחָמָהmil/cha/MAwarעֲלֵיהֶםa/le/HEMagainst themיָרִימוּya/RI/muthey should liftתְּחִלָּהte/chil/LAfirstדֶּגֶלDE/gela standardשָׁלוֹםsha/LOMof peaceלָעָםla/AMunto that peopleהַהוּאha/HUthatלַגּוֹיlag/GOYnationאוֹoorלַלָּשׁוֹן׃lal/la/SHONtongue

    And if any nation, tongue, or people should proclaim war against them, they should first lift a standard of peace unto that people, nation, or tongue;

35. 35

    וְאִםve/IMand ifהָעָםha/AMpeopleהַהוּאha/HUthatלֹאlonotקִבֵּלkib/BELacceptedהַשָּׁלוֹםhash/sha/LOMthe offering of peaceוְלֹאve/LOneitherבַפַּעַםvap/PA/amthe timeהַשֵּׁנִיתhash/she/NITsecondוְלֹאve/LOnorבַשְּׁלִישִׁיתvash/she/li/SHITthe thirdיָבִיאוּya/VI/uthey should bringהָעֵדֻיּוֹתha/e/duy/YOTtestimoniesהָאֵלֶּהha/EL/letheseלִפְנֵיlif/NEbeforeיְהוָה׃Adonaithe Lord

    And if that people did not accept the offering of peace, neither the second nor the third time, they should bring these testimonies before the Lord;

36. 36

    אָזazthenאֲנִיa/NIIיְהוָהAdonaithe Lordאֶתֵּןet/TENwould giveלָהֶםla/HEMthemמִצְוָהmits/VAa commandmentוְהִצְדַּקְתִּיםve/hits/dak/TIMand justify themלָצֵאתla/TSETin going outלְמִלְחָמָהle/mil/cha/MAto battleעַלalagainstהַגּוֹיhag/GOYnationהַהוּאha/HUthatהַלָּשׁוֹןhal/la/SHONtongueאוֹoorהָעָם׃ha/AMpeople

    Then I, the Lord, would give unto them a commandment, and justify them in going out to battle against that nation, tongue, or people.

37. 37

    וַאֲנִיva/a/NIand IיְהוָהAdonaithe Lordאֶלָּחֵםel/la/CHEMwould fightמִלְחֲמוֹתֵיהֶםmil/cha/mo/te/HEMtheir battlesוּמִלְחֲמוֹתu/mil/cha/MOTand the battlesבְּנֵיהֶםbe/ne/HEMof their childrenוּבְנֵיu/ve/NEand the childrenבְנֵיהֶםve/ne/HEMof their children'sעַדaduntilהִנָּקְמָםhin/na/ke/MAMavenged themselvesמִכׇּל־אֹיְבֵיהֶםmik/KOL-oy/ve/HEMof all their enemiesעַדadtoהַדּוֹרhad/DORthe generationהַשְּׁלִישִׁיhash/she/li/SHIthirdוְהָרְבִיעִי׃ve/ha/re/vi/Iand fourth

    And I, the Lord, would fight their battles, and their children's battles, and their children's children's, until they had avenged themselves on all their enemies, to the third and fourth generation.

38. 38

    הִנֵּהhin/NEbeholdזֹאתzotthis isמוֹפֵתmo/FETan ensampleלְכׇל־הָעַמִּיםle/KHOL-ha/am/MIMunto all peopleאָמַרa/MARsaysיְהוָהAdonaithe Lordאֱלֹהֵיכֶםe/lo/he/KHEMyour Godלְהַצְדָּקָהle/hats/da/KAfor justificationלְפָנָי׃le/fa/NAYbefore me

    Behold, this is an ensample unto all people, saith the Lord your God, for justification before me.

39. 39

    וְעוֹדve/ODand againאָמֵןa/MENverilyאֲנִיa/NIIאֹמֵרo/MERsayלָכֶםla/KHEMunto youאִםimifאַחֲרֵיa/cha/REafterבוֹאvocameאֹיִבְךָo/yiv/KHAyour enemyעָלֶיךָa/LE/khaupon youבַּפַּעַםbap/PA/amthe timeהָרִאשׁוֹנָהha/ri/sho/NAfirstיָשׁוּבya/SHUVhe repentוּבָאu/VAand comeאֵלֶיךָe/LE/khaunto youמְבַקֵּשׁme/vak/KESHprayingסְלִיחָתְךָse/li/cha/te/KHAyour forgivenessתִּסְלַחtis/LACHyou shall forgiveלוֹlohimוְלֹאve/LOand notתָבִיאta/VIshall holdאוֹתָהּo/TAitעוֹדodany moreלְעֵדוּתle/e/DUTas a testimonyעַלalagainstאֹיִבְךָ׃o/yiv/KHAyour enemy

    And again, verily I say unto you, if after thine enemy has come upon thee the first time, he repent and come unto thee praying thy forgiveness, thou shalt forgive him, and shalt hold it no more as a testimony against thine enemy—

40. 40

    וְכֵןve/KHENand so onבַּפַּעַםbap/PA/amunto the timeהַשֵּׁנִיתhash/she/NITsecondוְהַשְּׁלִישִׁיתve/hash/she/li/SHITand thirdוּבְכׇל־פַּעַםu/ve/KHOL-PA/amand as oft asאֲשֶׁר־יָשׁוּבa/SHER-ya/SHUVrepentsאֹיִבְךָo/yiv/KHAyour enemyמִפִּשְׁעוֹmip/pish/Oof the trespassאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwherewithפָּשַׁעpa/SHAhe trespassedבְּךָbe/KHAagainst youתִּסְלַחtis/LACHyou shall forgiveלוֹlohimעַדaduntilשִׁבְעִיםshiv/IMseventyפְּעָמִיםpe/a/MIMtimesשֶׁבַע׃she/VAseven

    And so on unto the second and third time; and as oft as thine enemy repenteth of the trespass wherewith he has trespassed against thee, thou shalt forgive him, until seventy times seven.

41. 41

    וְאִםve/IMand ifיִפְשַׁעyif/SHAhe trespassבְּךָbe/KHAagainst youוְלֹאve/LOand notיָשׁוּבya/SHUVrepentבַּפַּעַםbap/PA/amthe timeהָרִאשׁוֹנָהha/ri/sho/NAfirstאַךְakhneverthelessתִּסְלַחtis/LACHyou shall forgiveלוֹ׃lohim

    And if he trespass against thee and repent not the first time, nevertheless thou shalt forgive him.

42. 42

    וְאִםve/IMand ifיִפְשַׁעyif/SHAhe trespassבְּךָbe/KHAagainst youבַּפַּעַםbap/PA/amthe timeהַשֵּׁנִיתhash/she/NITsecondוְלֹאve/LOand notיָשׁוּבya/SHUVrepentאַךְakhneverthelessתִּסְלַחtis/LACHyou shall forgiveלוֹ׃lohim

    And if he trespass against thee the second time, and repent not, nevertheless thou shalt forgive him.

43. 43

    וְאִםve/IMand ifיִפְשַׁעyif/SHAhe trespassבְּךָbe/KHAagainst youבַּפַּעַםbap/PA/amthe timeהַשְּׁלִישִׁיתhash/she/li/SHITthirdוְלֹאve/LOand notיָשׁוּבya/SHUVrepentגַּםgamalsoתִּסְלַחtis/LACHyou shall forgiveלוֹ׃lohim

    And if he trespass against thee the third time, and repent not, thou shalt also forgive him.

44. 44

    אַךְakhbutאִםimifיִפְשַׁעyif/SHAhe trespassבְּךָbe/KHAagainst youבַּפַּעַםbap/PA/amthe timeהָרְבִיעִיתha/re/vi/ITfourthלֹאlonotתִּסְלַחtis/LACHyou shall forgiveלוֹlohimכִּי־אִםki-imbutתָּבִיאta/VIshall bringהָעֵדֻיּוֹתha/e/duy/YOTtestimoniesהָאֵלֶּהha/EL/letheseלִפְנֵיlif/NEbeforeיְהוָהAdonaithe Lordוְלֹאve/LOand notיִמָּחוּyim/ma/CHUshall be blotted outעַדaduntilיָשׁוּבya/SHUVhe repentוִישַׁלֵּםvi/shal/LEMand rewardלְךָle/KHAyouאַרְבַּעar/BAfourפְּעָמִיםpe/a/MIMfoldבְּכֹלbe/KHOLin all thingsאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwherewithפָּשַׁעpa/SHAhe trespassedבְּךָ׃be/KHAagainst you

    But if he trespass against thee the fourth time thou shalt not forgive him, but shalt bring these testimonies before the Lord; and they shall not be blotted out until he repent and reward thee four-fold in all things wherewith he has trespassed against thee.

45. 45

    וְאִםve/IMand ifיַעֲשֶׂהya/a/SEhe doכֵןkhenthisתִּסְלַחtis/LACHyou shall forgiveלוֹlohimבְּכׇל־לְבָבְךָbe/KHOL-le/va/ve/KHAwith all your heartוְאִםve/IMand ifלֹאlonotיַעֲשֶׂהya/a/SEhe doכֵןkhenthisאֲנִיa/NIIיְהוָהAdonaithe Lordאֶנְקֹםen/KOMwill avenge youלְךָle/KHAyouמֵאֹיִבְךָme/o/yiv/KHAof your enemyמֵאָהme/Aan hundredשְׁעָרִים׃she/a/RIMfold

    And if he do this, thou shalt forgive him with all thine heart; and if he do not this, I, the Lord, will avenge thee of thine enemy an hundred-fold;

46. 46

    וְעַלve/ALand uponבָּנָיוba/NAYVhis childrenוְעַלve/ALand uponבְּנֵיbe/NEthe childrenבָנָיוva/NAYVof his childrenמִכׇּל־שֹׂנְאַיmik/KOL-son/AYof all them that hate meעַדaduntoהַדּוֹרhad/DORthe generationהַשְּׁלִישִׁיhash/she/li/SHIthirdוְהָרְבִיעִי׃ve/ha/re/vi/Iand fourth

    And upon his children, and upon his children's children of all them that hate me, unto the third and fourth generation.

47. 47

    אַךְakhbutאִםimifיָשׁוּבוּya/SHU/vushall repentהַבָּנִיםhab/ba/NIMthe childrenאוֹoorבְּנֵיbe/NEthe childrenהַבָּנִיםhab/ba/NIMof the childrenוְשָׁבוּve/SHA/vuand turnאֶל־יְהוָהel-Adonaito the Lordאֱלֹהֵיהֶםe/lo/he/HEMtheir Godבְּכׇל־לְבָבָםbe/KHOL-le/va/VAMwith all their heartsוּבְכׇל־מְאֹדָםu/ve/KHOL-me/o/DAMand with all their mightוּבְכׇל־דַּעְתָּםu/ve/KHOL-da/TAMmindוּבְכׇל־כֹּחָםu/ve/KHOL-ko/CHAMand strengthוְשִׁלְּמוּve/shil/le/MUand restoreאַרְבַּעar/BAfourפְּעָמִיםpe/a/MIMfoldעַלalforכׇּל־פִּשְׁעֵיהֶםkol-pish/e/HEMall their trespassesאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwherewithפָּשְׁעוּPASH/uthey trespassedאוֹoorאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwherewithפָּשְׁעוּPASH/utrespassedאֲבוֹתֵיהֶםa/vo/te/HEMtheir fathersאוֹoorאֲבוֹתa/VOTfathersאֲבוֹתֵיהֶםa/vo/te/HEMof their fathersאָזazthenיָשׁוּבya/SHUVshall be turned awayזַעְמְךָ׃za/me/KHAyour indignation

    But if the children shall repent, or the children's children, and turn to the Lord their God, with all their hearts and with all their might, mind, and strength, and restore four-fold for all their trespasses wherewith they have trespassed, or wherewith their fathers have trespassed, or their fathers' fathers, then thine indignation shall be turned away;

48. 48

    וְנָקָםve/na/KAMand vengeanceלֹאlonotיָבֹאya/VOshall comeעוֹדodmoreעֲלֵיהֶםa/le/HEMupon themאָמַרa/MARsaysיְהוָהAdonaithe Lordאֱלֹהֶיךָe/lo/HE/khayour Godוּפִשְׁעֵיהֶםu/fish/e/HEMand their trespassesלֹאlonotיוּבְאוּyuv/Ushall be broughtעוֹדodany moreלְעֵדוּתle/e/DUTas a testimonyלִפְנֵיlif/NEbeforeיְהוָהAdonaithe Lordעֲלֵיהֶםa/le/HEMagainst themאָמֵן׃a/MENAmen

    And vengeance shall no more come upon them, saith the Lord thy God, and their trespasses shall never be brought any more as a testimony before the Lord against them. Amen.
