   Verily I say unto you my friends, I speak unto you with my voice, even the voice of my Spirit, that I may show unto you my will concerning your brethren in the land of Zion, many of whom are truly humble and are seeking diligently to learn wisdom and to find truth.

   Verily, verily I say unto you, blessed are such, for they shall obtain; for I, the Lord, show mercy unto all the meek, and upon all whomsoever I will, that I may be justified when I shall bring them unto judgment.

   Behold, I say unto you, concerning the school in Zion, I, the Lord, am well pleased that there should be a school in Zion, and also with my servant Parley P. Pratt, for he abideth in me.

   וּכְפִיu/khe/FIand inasmuch asאֲשֶׁר־יוֹסִיףa/SHER-yo/SIFhe continuesלִשְׁכֹּןlish/KONto abideבִּיbiin meיוֹסִיףyo/SIFhe shall continueלִפְקֹדlif/KODto preside overאֶת־בֵּיתet-betthe schoolהַמִּדְרָשׁham/mid/RASHof studyבְּאֶרֶץbe/E/retsin the landצִיּוֹןTsiy/YONof Zionעַדaduntilאֶתֵּן־לוֹet/TEN-loI shall give himמִצְוֹתmits/VOTcommandmentsאֲחֵרוֹת׃a/che/ROTother

   And inasmuch as he continueth to abide in me he shall continue to preside over the school in the land of Zion until I shall give unto him other commandments.

   וַאֲבָרְכֶנּוּva/a/va/re/khen/NUand I will bless himבְּרֹבbe/ROVwith a multiplicityבְּרָכוֹתbe/ra/KHOTof blessingsלְפָרֵשׁle/fa/RESHin expoundingכׇּלkolallהַכְּתוּבִיםhak/ke/tu/VIMscripturesוְהַסּוֹדוֹתve/has/so/DOTand mysteriesלְבִנְיַןle/vin/YANto the edificationבֵּיתbetof the schoolהַמִּדְרָשׁham/mid/RASHof studyוְהַכְּנֵסִיָּהve/hak/ke/ne/siy/YAand of the churchבְּצִיּוֹן׃be/Tsiy/YONin Zion

   And I will bless him with a multiplicity of blessings, in expounding all scriptures and mysteries to the edification of the school, and of the church in Zion.

   וְלִשְׁאָרve/lish/ARand to the residueבֵּיתbetof the schoolהַמִּדְרָשׁham/mid/RASHof studyאֲנִיa/NIIיְהוָהAdonaithe Lordרוֹצֶהro/TSEam willingלְרַחֵםle/ra/CHEMto show mercyאַךְakhneverthelessיֵשׁyeshthere areאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthose thatהִוָּסֵרhiv/va/SERmust needsיִוָּסְרוּyiv/va/se/RUbe chastenedוּמַעֲשֵׂיהֶםu/ma/a/se/HEMand their worksיִוָּדְעוּ׃yiv/va/de/Ushall be made known

   And to the residue of the school, I, the Lord, am willing to show mercy; nevertheless, there are those that must needs be chastened, and their works shall be made known.

   הַגַּרְזֶןhag/gar/ZENthe axהוּשַׂםhu/SAMis laidעַל־שֹׁרֶשׁal-SHO/reshat the rootהָעֵצִיםha/e/TSIMof the treesוְכׇל־עֵץve/KHOL-etsand every treeאֲשֶׁר־אֵינֶנּוּa/SHER-e/NEN/nuthat notעֹשֶׂהo/SEbrings forthפְּרִיpe/RIfruitטוֹבtovgoodיִכָּרֵתyik/ka/RETshall be hewn downוְהֻשְׁלַךְve/hush/LAKHand castבָּאֵשׁba/ESHinto the fireאֲנִיa/NIIיְהוָהAdonaithe Lordדִּבַּרְתִּי׃dib/bar/TIspoke it

   The ax is laid at the root of the trees; and every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit shall be hewn down and cast into the fire. I, the Lord, have spoken it.

   Verily I say unto you, all among them who know their hearts are honest, and are broken, and their spirits contrite, and are willing to observe their covenants by sacrifice—yea, every sacrifice which I, the Lord, shall command—they are accepted of me.

   כִּיkiforאֲנִיa/NIIיְהוָהAdonaithe Lordאֶעֱשֶׂהe/e/SEwill causeלָהֶםla/HEMthemלְהָנִיבle/ha/NIVto bring forthכְּעֵץke/ETSas a treeמַרְבֶּהmar/BEvery fruitfulפְּרִיpe/RIin fruitהַשָּׁתוּלhash/sha/TULwhich is plantedבְּאֶרֶץbe/E/retsin a landטוֹבָהto/VAgoodlyעַלalbyיְאוֹרye/ORa streamטָהוֹרta/HORpureהַנּוֹתֵןhan/no/TENthat yieldsפְּרִיpe/RIfruitיָקָרya/KARpreciousלָרֹב׃la/ROVmuch

   For I, the Lord, will cause them to bring forth as a very fruitful tree which is planted in a goodly land, by a pure stream, that yieldeth much precious fruit.

    אָמֵןa/MENverilyאֲנִיa/NIIאֹמֵרo/MERsayלָכֶםla/KHEMunto youרְצוֹנִיre/tso/NIthat it is my willאֲשֶׁר־יִבָּנֶהa/SHER-yib/ba/NEthat should be builtלִיliunto meבַּיִתBA/yita houseבְּאֶרֶץbe/E/retsin the landצִיּוֹןTsiy/YONof Zionכַּתַּבְנִיתkat/tav/NITlike unto the patternאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhichנָתַתִּיna/TAT/tiI gaveלָכֶם׃la/KHEMyou

    Verily I say unto you, that it is my will that a house should be built unto me in the land of Zion, like unto the pattern which I have given you.

11. 11

    אָכֵןa/KHENyeaיִבָּנֶהyib/ba/NElet it be builtבִּמְהֵרָהbim/he/RAspeedilyבְּמַעְשַׂרbe/ma/SARby the tithingעַמִּי׃am/MIof my people

    Yea, let it be built speedily, by the tithing of my people.

12. 12

    הִנֵּהhin/NEbeholdזֶהzethis isהַמַּעֲשֵׂרham/ma/a/SERthe tithingוְהַקׇּרְבָּןve/hak/kor/BANand the sacrificeאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhichאֲנִיa/NIIיְהוָהAdonaithe Lordדּוֹרֵשׁdo/RESHrequireמִיְּדֵיהֶםmiy/ye/de/HEMat their handsלְמַעַןle/MA/anthatיִבָּנֶהyib/ba/NEthere may be builtלִיliunto meבַּיִתBA/yita houseלִישׁוּעַתli/shu/ATfor the salvationצִיּוֹן׃Tsiy/YONof Zion

    Behold, this is the tithing and the sacrifice which I, the Lord, require at their hands, that there may be a house built unto me for the salvation of Zion—

13. 13

    לִמְקוֹםlim/KOMfor a placeהוֹדָיָהho/da/YAof thanksgivingלְכׇל־הַקְּדוֹשִׁיםle/KHOL-hak/ke/do/SHIMfor all saintsוְלִמְקוֹםve/lim/KOMand for a placeהוֹרָאָהho/ra/Aof instructionלְכׇל־הַנִּקְרָאִיםle/KHOL-han/nik/ra/IMfor all those who are calledלִמְלֶאכֶתlim/LE/khetto the workהָעֲבוֹדָהha/a/vo/DAof the ministryבְּכׇל־קְרִיאוֹתֵיהֶםbe/KHOL-ke/ri/o/te/HEMin all their callingsהַשּׁוֹנוֹתhash/sho/NOTseveralוּמִשְׂרוֹתֵיהֶם׃u/mis/ro/te/HEMand offices

    For a place of thanksgiving for all saints, and for a place of instruction for all those who are called to the work of the ministry in all their several callings and offices;

    לְמַעַןle/MA/anthatיֻשְׁלְמוּyush/le/MUthey may be perfectedבַּהֲבָנַתba/ha/va/NATin the understandingעֲבוֹדָתָםa/vo/da/TAMof their ministryבְּלֶקַחbe/LE/kachin theoryבְּעִקָּרbe/ik/KARin principleוּבְתוֹרָהu/ve/to/RAand in doctrineבְּכׇל־הַנּוֹגֵעַbe/KHOL-han/no/GE/ain all things pertaining toלְמַלְכוּתle/mal/KHUTthe kingdomאֱלֹהִיםe/lo/HIMof Godבָּאָרֶץba/A/retson the earthאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhichמַפְתְּחוֹתֶיהָmaf/te/cho/te/HAkeysנִמְסְרוּnim/se/RUhave been conferredלָכֶם׃la/KHEMupon you

    That they may be perfected in the understanding of their ministry, in theory, in principle, and in doctrine, in all things pertaining to the kingdom of God on the earth, the keys of which kingdom have been conferred upon you.

15. 15

    וּכְפִיu/khe/FIand inasmuch asאֲשֶׁר־יִבְנֶהa/SHER-yiv/NEbuildעַמִּיam/MImy peopleלִיliunto meבַּיִתBA/yita houseבְּשֵׁםbe/SHEMin the nameיְהוָהAdonaiof the Lordוְלֹאve/LOand notיַנִּיחוּyan/NI/chudo sufferדָבָרda/VARthingטָמֵאta/MEany uncleanלָבוֹאla/VOto comeבוֹvointo itוְלֹאve/LOthat notיְחֻלָּלye/chul/LALit be defiledיִשְׁכֹּןyish/KONshall restכְּבוֹדִיke/vo/DImy gloryעָלָיו׃a/LAYVupon it

    And inasmuch as my people build a house unto me in the name of the Lord, and do not suffer any unclean thing to come into it, that it be not defiled, my glory shall rest upon it;

16. 16

    אָכֵןa/KHENyeaוּפָנַיu/fa/NAYand my presenceיִהְיוּyih/YUshall beשָׁםshamthereכִּיkiforאָבוֹאa/VOI will comeבוֹvointo itוְכׇל־בַּרve/KHOL-barand all the pure inלֵבָבle/VAVheartהַבָּאhab/BAthat shall comeבוֹvointo itיִרְאֶהyir/Eshall seeאֱלֹהִים׃e/lo/HIMGod

    Yea, and my presence shall be there, for I will come into it, and all the pure in heart that shall come into it shall see God.

17. 17

    אַךְakhbutאִםimifיְחֻלָּלye/chul/LALit be defiledלֹאlonotאָבוֹאa/VOI will comeבוֹvointo itוּכְבוֹדִיu/khe/vo/DIand my gloryלֹאlonotיִהְיֶהyih/YEshall beשָׁםshamthereכִּיkiforלֹאlonotאָבוֹאa/VOI will comeבְּהֵיכָלוֹתbe/he/kha/LOTinto templesטְמֵאִים׃te/me/IMunholy

    But if it be defiled I will not come into it, and my glory shall not be there; for I will not come into unholy temples.

18. 18

    וְעַתָּהve/at/TAand nowהִנֵּהhin/NEbeholdאִםimifתַּעֲשֶׂהta/a/SEdoצִיּוֹןTsiy/YONZionאֶת־הַדְּבָרִיםet-had/de/va/RIMthingsהָאֵלֶּהha/EL/letheseתִּצְלַחtits/LACHshe shall prosperוְתִתְפַּשֵּׁטve/tit/pash/SHETand spread herselfוְתִהְיֶהve/tih/YEand becomeנִכְבֶּדֶתnikh/BE/detgloriousמְאֹדme/ODveryוּגְדוֹלָהu/ge/do/LAgreatמְאֹדme/ODveryוְנוֹרָאָהve/no/ra/Aand terribleמְאֹד׃me/ODvery

    And, now, behold, if Zion do these things she shall prosper, and spread herself and become very glorious, very great, and very terrible.

19. 19

    וְגוֹיֵיve/go/YEand the nationsהָאָרֶץha/A/retsof the earthיְכַבְּדוּהָye/khab/be/du/HAshall honor herוְיֹאמְרוּve/yo/me/RUand shall sayאָכֵןa/KHENsurelyצִיּוֹןTsiy/YONZion isעִירirthe cityאֱלֹהֵינוּe/lo/HE/nuof our Godוְאָכֵןve/a/KHENand surelyצִיּוֹןTsiy/YONZionלֹאlonotתִפֹּלtip/POLcan fallוְלֹאve/LOneitherתִמּוֹטtim/MOTbe movedמִמְּקוֹמָהּmim/me/ko/MAout of her placeכִּיkiforאֱלֹהִיםe/lo/HIMGodשָׁםshamis thereוְיַדve/YADand the handיְהוָהAdonaiof the Lordשָׁם׃shamis there

    And the nations of the earth shall honor her, and shall say: Surely Zion is the city of our God, and surely Zion cannot fall, neither be moved out of her place, for God is there, and the hand of the Lord is there;

20. 20

    וְהוּאve/HUand heנִשְׁבַּעnish/BAsworeבְּכֹחַbe/KHO/achby the powerגְּבוּרָתוֹge/vu/ra/TOof his mightלִהְיוֹתlih/YOTto beיְשׁוּעָתָהּye/shu/a/TAher salvationוּמִגְדָּלָהּu/mig/da/LAand her towerהַגָּבֹהַּ׃hag/ga/VO/ahhigh

    And he hath sworn by the power of his might to be her salvation and her high tower.

21. 21

    לָכֵןla/KHENthereforeאָמֵןa/MENverilyכֹּהkothusאָמַרa/MARsaysיְהוָהAdonaithe Lordתָּגֵלta/GELlet rejoiceצִיּוֹןTsiy/YONZionכִּיkiforזֹאתzotthis isצִיּוֹןTsiy/YONZionבָּרֵיba/RETHE PURE INלֵבָבle/VAVHEARTלָכֵןla/KHENthereforeתָּגֵלta/GELlet rejoiceצִיּוֹןTsiy/YONZionוְכׇל־הָרְשָׁעִיםve/KHOL-ha/re/sha/IMwhile all the wickedיִסְפְּדוּ׃yis/pe/DUshall mourn

    Therefore, verily, thus saith the Lord, let Zion rejoice, for this is Zion—THE PURE IN HEART; therefore, let Zion rejoice, while all the wicked shall mourn.

22. 22

    כִּיkiforהִנֵּהhin/NEbeholdוְהֵןve/HENand loנָקָםna/KAMvengeanceבָּאbacomesבִּמְהֵרָהbim/he/RAspeedilyעַלaluponהָרְשָׁעִיםha/re/sha/IMthe ungodlyכַּסּוּפָהkas/su/FAas the whirlwindוּמִיu/MIand whoיִמָּלֵט׃yim/ma/LETshall escape

    For behold, and lo, vengeance cometh speedily upon the ungodly as the whirlwind; and who shall escape it?

23. 23

    שׁוֹטshotthe scourgeיְהוָהAdonaiLord'sיַעֲבֹרya/a/VORshall pass overלַיְלָהLAY/laby nightוָיוֹםva/YOMand by dayוְשִׁמְעוֹve/shim/Oand the report thereofיַטְרִידyat/RIDshall vexכׇּל־עָםkol-amall peopleאָכֵןa/KHENyeaלֹאlonotיֵעָצֵרye/a/TSERit shall be stayedעַדaduntilבּוֹאbocomeיְהוָה׃Adonaithe Lord

    The Lord's scourge shall pass over by night and by day, and the report thereof shall vex all people; yea, it shall not be stayed until the Lord come;

24. 24

    כִּיkiforחֲרוֹןcha/RONthe indignationיְהוָהAdonaiof the Lordבֹּעֵרbo/ERis kindledעַלalagainstתּוֹעֲבוֹתֵיהֶםto/a/vo/te/HEMtheir abominationsוְכׇל־מַעֲשֵׂיהֶםve/KHOL-ma/a/se/HEMand all their worksהָרָעִים׃ha/ra/IMwicked

    For the indignation of the Lord is kindled against their abominations and all their wicked works.

25. 25

    אַךְakhneverthelessצִיּוֹןTsiy/YONZionתִּמָּלֵטtim/ma/LETshall escapeאִםimifתִּשְׁמֹרtish/MORshe observeלַעֲשׂוֹתla/a/SOTto doכׇּל־אֲשֶׁרkol-a/SHERall things whatsoeverצִוִּיתִיהָ׃tsiv/vi/ti/HAI commanded her

    Nevertheless, Zion shall escape if she observe to do all things whatsoever I have commanded her.

26. 26

    וְאִםve/IMbut ifלֹאlonotתִשְׁמֹרtish/MORshe observeלַעֲשׂוֹתla/a/SOTto doכׇּל־אֲשֶׁרkol-a/SHERwhatsoeverצִוִּיתִיהָtsiv/vi/TI/haI commanded herאֶפְקֹדef/KODI will visitעָלֶיהָa/LE/haherכְּכׇל־מַעֲשֶׂיהָke/KHOL-ma/a/SE/haaccording to all her worksבְּצָרָהbe/tsa/RAwith afflictionקָשָׁהka/SHAsoreבְּדֶבֶרbe/DE/verwith pestilenceבְּמַגֵּפָהbe/mag/ge/FAwith plagueבְּחֶרֶבbe/CHE/revwith swordבְּנָקָםbe/na/KAMwith vengeanceבְּאֵשׁbe/ESHwith fireאֹכֶלֶת׃o/khe/LETdevouring

    But if she observe not to do whatsoever I have commanded her, I will visit her according to all her works, with sore affliction, with pestilence, with plague, with sword, with vengeance, with devouring fire.

27. 27

    אַךְakhneverthelessתִּקָּרֵאtik/ka/RElet it be readזֹאתzotthisבְּאׇזְנֶיהָbe/oz/ne/HAto her earsפַּעַםPA/amonceאַחַתa/CHAToneכִּיkithatאֲנִיa/NIIיְהוָהAdonaithe Lordקִבַּלְתִּיkib/bal/TIacceptedקׇרְבָּנָהּkor/ba/NAof her offeringוְאִםve/IMand ifלֹאlonotתֶחֱטָאte/che/TAshe sinעוֹדodno moreלֹאlonone ofיָבֹאוּya/VO/ushall comeעָלֶיהָa/LE/haupon herהַדְּבָרִיםhad/de/va/RIMthingsהָאֵלֶּה׃ha/el/LEthese

    Nevertheless, let it be read this once to her ears, that I, the Lord, have accepted of her offering; and if she sin no more none of these things shall come upon her;

28. 28

    וַאֲבָרְכֶנָּהva/a/va/re/khen/NAand I will bless herבִּרְכוֹתbir/KHOTwith blessingsוְאַרְבֶּהve/ar/BEand multiplyבְּרָכוֹתbe/ra/KHOTa multiplicity of blessingsעָלֶיהָa/LE/haupon herוְעַלve/ALand uponדּוֹרוֹתֶיהָdo/ro/te/HAher generationsלְעוֹלָםle/o/LAMforeverוָעֶדva/EDand everאָמַרa/MARsaysיְהוָהAdonaithe Lordאֱלֹהֵיכֶםe/lo/he/KHEMyour Godאָמֵן׃a/MENAmen

    And I will bless her with blessings, and multiply a multiplicity of blessings upon her, and upon her generations forever and ever, saith the Lord your God. Amen.
