   Behold, and hearken, O ye inhabitants of Zion, and all ye people of my church who are afar off, and hear the word of the Lord which I give unto my servant Joseph Smith, Jun., and also unto my servant Martin Harris, and also unto my servant Oliver Cowdery, and also unto my servant John Whitmer, and also unto my servant Sidney Rigdon, and also unto my servant William W. Phelps, by the way of commandment unto them.

   כִּיkiforאֲנִיa/NIIנוֹתֵןno/TENgiveלָהֶםla/HEMthemמִצְוָהmits/VAa commandmentלָכֵןla/KHENwhereforeהַקְשִׁיבוּhak/SHI/vuhearkenוְשִׁמְעוּve/shim/Uand hearכִּיkiforכֹהkhothusאָמַרa/MARsaysיְהוָהAdonaithe Lordאֲלֵיהֶם׃a/le/HEMunto them

   For I give unto them a commandment; wherefore hearken and hear, for thus saith the Lord unto them—

   אֲנִיa/NIIיְהוָהAdonaithe Lordמִנִּיתִיםmin/ni/TIMappointed themוָאֶסְמְכֵםva/es/me/KHEMand ordained themלִהְיוֹתlih/YOTto beסֹכְנִיםsokh/NIMstewardsעַלaloverהַחֲזוֹנוֹתha/cha/zo/NOTthe revelationsוְהַמִּצְוֹתve/ham/mits/VOTand the commandmentsאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhichנָתַתִּיna/TAT/tiI gaveלָהֶםla/HEMthemוַאֲשֶׁרva/a/SHERand whichאֶתֵּןet/TENI shall giveלָהֶםla/HEMthemאַחֲרֵי־כֵן׃a/cha/RE-khenhereafter

   I, the Lord, have appointed them, and ordained them to be stewards over the revelations and commandments which I have given unto them, and which I shall hereafter give unto them;

   וְחֶשְׁבּוֹןve/chesh/BONand an accountהַפְּקֻדָּהhap/pe/kud/DAof the stewardshipהַזֹּאתhaz/ZOTthisאֶדְרֹשׁed/ROSHwill I requireמֵהֶםme/HEMof themבְּיוֹםbe/YOMin the dayהַמִּשְׁפָּט׃ham/mish/PATof judgment

   And an account of this stewardship will I require of them in the day of judgment.

   לָכֵןla/KHENwhereforeמִנִּיתִיםmin/ni/TIMI appointed themוְזֹאתve/ZOTand this isעֲבוֹדָתָםa/vo/da/TAMtheir businessבִּכְנֵסִיַּתbikh/ne/siy/YATin the churchאֱלֹהִיםe/lo/HIMof Godלְנַהֵלle/na/HELto manageאוֹתָםo/TAMthemוְאֶתve/ETandעִנְיְנֵיהֶםin/ye/ne/HEMtheir concernsאָכֵןa/KHENyeaאֶת־טוֹבוֹתֵיהֶם׃et-to/vo/te/HEMthe benefits thereof

   Wherefore, I have appointed unto them, and this is their business in the church of God, to manage them and the concerns thereof, yea, the benefits thereof.

   לָכֵןla/KHENwhereforeמִצְוָהmits/VAa commandmentאֲנִיa/NIIנוֹתֵןno/TENgiveלָהֶםla/HEMthemאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthatלֹאlonotיִתְּנוּyit/te/NUthey shall giveאֶת־הַדְּבָרִיםet-had/de/va/RIMthe thingsהָאֵלֶּהha/EL/letheseלַכְּנֵסִיָּהlak/ke/ne/siy/YAunto the churchוְלֹאve/LOneitherלָעוֹלָם׃la/o/LAMunto the world

   Wherefore, a commandment I give unto them, that they shall not give these things unto the church, neither unto the world;

   אַךְakhneverthelessכְּפִיke/FIinasmuchאֲשֶׁרa/SHERasיְקַבְּלוּye/kab/be/LUthey receiveיוֹתֵרyo/TERmoreמֵאֲשֶׁרme/a/SHERthan that whichנָחוּץna/CHUTSis needfulלְצׇרְכֵיהֶםle/tsor/khe/HEMfor their necessitiesוּלְמַחְסוֹרֵיהֶםu/le/mach/so/re/HEMand their wantsיִנָּתֵןyin/na/TENit shall be givenלְאוֹצָרִי׃le/o/tsa/RIinto my storehouse

   Nevertheless, inasmuch as they receive more than is needful for their necessities and their wants, it shall be given into my storehouse;

   וְהַטּוֹבוֹתve/hat/to/VOTand the benefitsיֻקְדְּשׁוּyuk/de/SHUthey shall be consecratedלְיוֹשְׁבֵיle/yosh/VEunto the inhabitantsצִיּוֹןTsiy/YONof Zionוּלְדוֹרוֹתֵיהֶםu/le/do/ro/te/HEMand unto their generationsכְּפִיke/FIinasmuchאֲשֶׁרa/SHERasיִהְיוּyih/YUthey becomeיוֹרְשִׁיםyor/SHIMheirsלְפִיle/FIaccording toחֻקֵּיchuk/KEthe lawsהַמַּלְכוּת׃ham/mal/KHUTof the kingdom

   And the benefits shall be consecrated unto the inhabitants of Zion, and unto their generations, inasmuch as they become heirs according to the laws of the kingdom.

   הִנֵּהhin/NEbeholdזֶהzethis isאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhatיְהוָהAdonaithe Lordדּוֹרֵשׁdo/RESHrequiresמִכׇּלmik/KOLof everyאָדָםa/DAMmanבִּפְקֻדָּתוֹbif/kud/da/TOin his stewardshipכַּאֲשֶׁרka/a/SHEReven asאֲנִיa/NIIיְהוָהAdonaithe Lordמִנִּיתִיmin/ni/TIappointedאוֹoorאֲמַנֶּהa/man/NEshall appointאַחֲרֵי־כֵןa/cha/RE-khenhereafterלְכׇלle/KHOLunto anyאָדָם׃a/DAMman

   Behold, this is what the Lord requires of every man in his stewardship, even as I, the Lord, have appointed or shall hereafter appoint unto any man.

    וְהִנֵּהve/hin/NEand beholdאֵיןenthere is noאִישׁishmanנָקִיna/KIexemptמִןminfromהַתּוֹרָהhat/to/RAthe lawהַזֹּאתhaz/ZOTthisאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwho belongsלִכְנֵסִיַּתlikh/ne/siy/YATto the churchאֱלֹהִיםe/lo/HIMof Godחַיִּים׃chay/YIMthe living

    And behold, none are exempt from this law who belong to the church of the living God;

11. 11

    אָכֵןa/KHENyeaלֹאloneitherהַפָּקִידhap/pa/KIDthe bishopוְלֹאve/LOneitherהַסֹּכֵןhas/so/KHENthe agentהַשּׁוֹמֵרhash/sho/MERwho keepsעַלaloverאוֹצַרo/TSARthe storehouseיְהוָהAdonaiof the Lordוְלֹאve/LOneitherהַמְמֻנֶּהham/mun/NEhe who is appointedעַלaloverפְּקֻדָּהpe/kud/DAa stewardshipבִּדְבָרִיםbid/va/RIMin thingsגַּשְׁמִיִּים׃gash/miy/YIMtemporal

    Yea, neither the bishop, neither the agent who keepeth the Lord's storehouse, neither he who is appointed in a stewardship over temporal things.

    הַמְמֻנֶּהham/mun/NEhe who is appointedלְשָׁרֵתle/sha/RETto administerבִּדְבָרִיםbid/va/RIMin thingsרוּחָנִיִּיםru/cha/niy/YIMspiritualהוּאhuthe sameרָאוּיra/UYis worthyלִשְׂכָרוֹlis/kha/ROof his hireכְּאֵלֶּהke/EL/leeven as thoseהַמְמֻנִּיםham/mun/NIMwho are appointedעַלaloverפְּקֻדָּהpe/kud/DAa stewardshipלְשָׁרֵתle/sha/RETto administerבִּדְבָרִיםbid/va/RIMin thingsגַּשְׁמִיִּים׃gash/miy/YIMtemporal

    He who is appointed to administer spiritual things, the same is worthy of his hire, even as those who are appointed to a stewardship to administer in temporal things;

13. 13

    אַףafyea evenבְּשֶׁפַעbe/SHE/faabundantlyיוֹתֵרyo/TERmoreוְהַשֶּׁפַעve/hash/SHE/faand the abundanceהַזֶּהhaz/ZEthisמֻרְבֶּהmur/BEis multipliedלָהֶםla/HEMunto themבְּיַדbe/YADthroughהִתְגַּלּוּיוֹתhit/gal/lu/YOTthe manifestationsהָרוּחַ׃ha/RU/achof the Spirit

    Yea, even more abundantly, which abundance is multiplied unto them through the manifestations of the Spirit.

14. 14

    אַךְakhneverthelessבְּדִבְרֵיכֶםbe/div/re/KHEMin your thingsהַגַּשְׁמִיִּיםhag/gash/miy/YIMtemporalתִּהְיוּtih/YUyou shall beשָׁוִיםsha/VIMequalוְזֹאתve/ZOTand thisלֹאlonotבְּלֵבbe/LEVwith heartרַעragrudgingוְאִם־לֹאve/IM-lootherwiseשֶׁפַעSHE/fathe abundanceהִתְגַּלּוּיוֹתhit/gal/lu/YOTof the manifestationsהָרוּחַha/RU/achof the Spiritיֵעָצֵר׃ye/a/TSERshall be withheld

    Nevertheless, in your temporal things you shall be equal, and this not grudgingly, otherwise the abundance of the manifestations of the Spirit shall be withheld.

15. 15

    וְעַתָּהve/at/TAand nowהַמִּצְוָהham/mits/VAthe commandmentהַזֹּאתhaz/ZOTthisאֲנִיa/NIIנוֹתֵןno/TENgiveלַעֲבָדַיla/a/va/DAYunto my servantsלְטוֹבָתָםle/to/va/TAMfor their benefitבְּעוֹדָםbe/o/DAMwhile they remainלְהִתְגַּלּוּתle/hit/gal/LUTfor a manifestationבִּרְכוֹתַיbir/kho/TAYof my blessingsעַלaluponרָאשֵׁיהֶםra/she/HEMtheir headsוְלִשְׂכַרve/lis/KHARand for a rewardעֲמָלָםa/ma/LAMof their diligenceוּלְבִטְחוֹנָם׃u/le/vit/cho/NAMand for their security

    Now, this commandment I give unto my servants for their benefit while they remain, for a manifestation of my blessings upon their heads, and for a reward of their diligence and for their security;

16. 16

    לְמָזוֹןle/ma/ZONfor foodוּלְמַלְבּוּשׁu/le/mal/BUSHand for raimentלְנַחֲלָהle/na/cha/LAfor an inheritanceלְבָתִּיםle/vat/TIMfor housesוְלַאֲדָמוֹתve/la/a/da/MOTand for landsבְּכׇלbe/KHOLin whatsoeverדֶּרֶךְDE/rekhcircumstancesאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthatאֲנִיa/NIIיְהוָהAdonaithe Lordאֲשִׂימֵםa/si/MEMshall place themוּלְכׇלu/le/KHOLand unto everyמָקוֹםma/KOMplaceאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthatאֲנִיa/NIIיְהוָהAdonaithe Lordאֶשְׁלָחֵם׃esh/la/CHEMshall send them

    For food and for raiment; for an inheritance; for houses and for lands, in whatsoever circumstances I, the Lord, shall place them, and whithersoever I, the Lord, shall send them.

17. 17

    כִּיkiforנֶאֱמָנִיםne/e/ma/NIMfaithfulהָיוּha/YUthey have beenעַלaloverדְּבָרִיםde/va/RIMthingsרַבִּיםrab/BIMmanyוְהֵיטִיבוּve/he/TI/vuand did wellלַעֲשׂוֹתla/a/SOTto doכְּפִיke/FIinasmuchאֲשֶׁרa/SHERasלֹאlonotחָטְאוּ׃cha/te/Uthey sinned

    For they have been faithful over many things, and have done well inasmuch as they have not sinned.

18. 18

    הִנֵּהhin/NEbeholdאֲנִיa/NIIיְהוָהAdonaithe Lordרַחוּםra/CHUMam mercifulוַאֲבָרְכֵםva/a/va/re/KHEMand I will bless themוְיָבֹאוּve/ya/VO/uand they shall enterבְּשִׂמְחַתbe/sim/CHATinto the joyהַדְּבָרִיםhad/de/va/RIMof the thingsהָאֵלֶּהha/EL/letheseכֵּןkeneven soיְהִיye/HIbe itאָמֵן׃a/MENAmen

    Behold, I, the Lord, am merciful and will bless them, and they shall enter into the joy of these things. Even so. Amen.
