   וְעַתָּהve/at/TAand nowאַחַיa/CHAYmy brethrenהָאֲהוּבִיםha/a/hu/VIMbelovedהִנְנִיhin/NIbehold Iמַגִּידmag/GIDdeclareלָכֶםla/KHEMunto youכִּיkithatאִם־לֹאim-loexceptתָשׁוּבוּta/shu/VUyou shall repentבָּתֵּיכֶםbat/te/KHEMyour housesיֵעָזְבוּye/a/ze/VUshall be leftלָכֶםla/KHEMunto youשְׁמָמָה׃she/ma/MAdesolate

   And now, my beloved brethren, behold, I declare unto you that except ye shall repent your houses shall be left unto you desolate.

   Yea, except ye repent, your women shall have great cause to mourn in the day that they shall give suck; for ye shall attempt to flee and there shall be no place for refuge; yea, and wo unto them which are with child, for they shall be heavy and cannot flee; therefore, they shall be trodden down and shall be left to perish.

   Yea, wo unto this people who are called the people of Nephi except they shall repent, when they shall see all these signs and wonders which shall be showed unto them; for behold, they have been a chosen people of the Lord; yea, the people of Nephi hath he loved, and also hath he chastened them; yea, in the days of their iniquities hath he chastened them because he loveth them.

   But behold my brethren, the Lamanites hath he hated because their deeds have been evil continually, and this because of the iniquity of the tradition of their fathers. But behold, salvation hath come unto them through the preaching of the Nephites; and for this intent hath the Lord prolonged their days.

   וְחָפֵץve/cha/FETSand wouldאֲנִיa/NIIכִּיkithatתִרְאוּtir/Uyou should beholdאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthatרֻבָּםrub/BAMthe more part of themבְּדֶרֶךְbe/DE/rekhin the pathמִשְׁמַרְתָּםmish/mar/TAMof their dutyוְהוֹלְכִיםve/hol/KHIMand they walkהֵםhemtheyבְּתֹםbe/TOMcircumspectlyלִפְנֵיlif/NEbeforeאֱלֹהִיםe/lo/HIMGodוְשׁוֹמְרִיםve/shom/RIMand they observeלַעֲשׂוֹתla/a/SOTto keepאֶת־מִצְוֹתָיוet-mits/vo/TAYVhis commandmentsוְחֻקּוֹתָיוve/chuk/ko/TAYVand his statutesוּמִשְׁפָּטָיוu/mish/pa/TAYVand his judgmentsכְּפִיke/FIaccording toתּוֹרַתto/RATthe lawמֹשֶׁה׃Mo/SHEof Moses

   And I would that ye should behold that the more part of them are in the path of their duty, and they do walk circumspectly before God, and they do observe to keep his commandments and his statutes and his judgments according to the law of Moses.

   הֵןhenyeaאֹמֵרo/MERsayאֲנִיa/NIIלָכֶםla/KHEMunto youכִּיkithatרֻבָּםrub/BAMthe more part of themעֹשִׂיםo/SIMare doingזֹאתzotthisוַחֲרוּצִיםva/cha/ru/TSIMand they are strivingהֵםhemtheyבְּלִי־יְגִיעָהbe/LI-ye/gi/Awith unwearied diligenceלְהָבִיאle/ha/VIto bringאֶת־שְׁאֵרִיתet-she/e/RITthe remainderאֲחֵיהֶםa/che/HEMof their brethrenלְדַעַתle/DA/atto the knowledgeהָאֱמֶתha/e/METof the truthלָכֵןla/KHENthereforeרַבִּיםrab/BIMmanyנוֹסָפִיםno/sa/FIMwho addעֲלֵיהֶםa/le/HEMto their numbersיוֹםyomdayיוֹם׃yomby day

   Yea, I say unto you, that the more part of them are doing this, and they are striving with unwearied diligence that they may bring the remainder of their brethren to the knowledge of the truth; therefore there are many who do add to their numbers daily.

   וְהִנֵּהve/hin/NEand beholdיְדַעְתֶּםye/da/TEMyou knowמִנַּפְשְׁכֶםmin/naf/she/KHEMof yourselvesכִּיkiforרְאִיתֶםre/i/TEMyou witnessed itאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthatכׇּל־הַמּוּבָאִיםkol-ham/mu/va/IMas many of them as are broughtלְדַעַתle/DA/atto the knowledgeהָאֱמֶתha/e/METof the truthוְלָדַעַתve/la/DA/atand to knowאֶת־מָסֹרֶתet-ma/SO/retof the traditionsאֲבוֹתֵיהֶםa/vo/te/HEMof their fathersהָרָעָהha/ra/Awickedוְהַנִּתְעֶבֶתve/han/nit/E/vetand abominableוְהַמּוּבָלִיםve/ham/mu/va/LIMand are ledלְהַאֲמִיןle/ha/a/MINto believeבְּכִתְבֵיbe/khit/VEthe scripturesהַקֹּדֶשׁhak/KO/deshholyאַףafyeaבִּנְבוּאוֹתbin/vu/OTthe propheciesהַנְּבִיאִיםhan/ne/vi/IMof the prophetsהַקְּדוֹשִׁיםhak/ke/do/SHIMthe holyהַכְּתוּבִיםhak/ke/tu/VIMwhich are writtenהַמְבִיאִיםham/vi/IMwhich leadsאוֹתָםo/TAMthemלֶאֱמוּנָהle/e/mu/NAto faithבַּיהוָהba-Adonaion Adonaiוְלִתְשׁוּבָהve/lit/shu/VAand unto repentanceאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhichהָאֱמוּנָהha/e/mu/NAfaithוְהַתְּשׁוּבָהve/hat/te/shu/VAand repentanceמְבִיאוֹתme/vi/OTbringsתְּמוּרַתte/mu/RATa changeלֵבlevof heartבָּהֶם׃ba/HEMunto them

   And behold, ye do know of yourselves, for ye have witnessed it, that as many of them as are brought to the knowledge of the truth, and to know of the wicked and abominable traditions of their fathers, and are led to believe the holy scriptures, yea, the prophecies of the holy prophets, which are written, which leadeth them to faith on the Lord, and unto repentance, which faith and repentance bringeth a change of heart unto them—

   לָכֵןla/KHENthereforeכׇּל־הַבָּאִיםkol-hab/ba/IMas many as cameלָזֶהla/ZEto thisיְדַעְתֶּםye/da/TEMyou knowמִנַּפְשְׁכֶםmin/naf/she/KHEMof yourselvesכִּיkithatאֵיתָנִיםe/ta/NIMare firmוַחֲזָקִיםva/cha/za/KIMand steadfastהֵםhemtheyבָּאֱמוּנָהba/e/mu/NAin the faithוּבַדָּבָרu/vad/da/VARand in the thingאֲשֶׁר־בּוֹa/SHER-bowherewithנַעֲשׂוּna/a/SUthey have been madeחׇפְשִׁים׃chof/SHIMfree

   Therefore, as many as have come to this, ye know of yourselves are firm and steadfast in the faith, and in the thing wherewith they have been made free.

   וְגַם־יְדַעְתֶּםve/GAM-ye/da/TEMand you know alsoכִּיkithatטָמְנוּta/me/NUthey buriedאֶת־כְּלֵיet-ke/LEtheir weaponsמִלְחַמְתָּםmil/cham/TAMof warוְיִירְאוּve/yi/re/Uand they fearלְקַחְתָּםle/kach/TAMto take them upפֶּןpenlest by any meansיֶחֶטְאוּye/chet/Uthey should sinאַףafyeaתִּרְאוּtir/Uyou can seeכִּיkithatיִירְאוּyi/re/Uthey fearלַחֲטֹאla/cha/TOto sinכִּיkiforהִנֵּהhin/NEbeholdיִתְּנוּyit/te/NUthey will sufferנַפְשָׁםnaf/SHAMthemselvesלְהֵרָמֵסle/he/ra/MESthat they be trodden downוּלְהֵהָרֵגu/le/he/ha/REGand slainבִּידֵיbi/DEby the handsאוֹיְבֵיהֶםoy/ve/HEMof their enemiesוְלֹאve/LOand notיִשְׂאוּyis/Uwill liftחַרְבָּםchar/BAMtheir swordsעֲלֵיהֶםa/le/HEMagainst themוְזֹאתve/ZOTand thisבַּעֲבוּרba/a/VURbecause ofאֱמוּנָתָםe/mu/na/TAMtheir faithבַּמָּשִׁיחַ׃bam/Ma/SHI/achin Christ

   And ye know also that they have buried their weapons of war, and they fear to take them up lest by any means they should sin; yea, ye can see that they fear to sin—for behold they will suffer themselves that they be trodden down and slain by their enemies, and will not lift their swords against them, and this because of their faith in Christ.

    וְעַתָּהve/at/TAand nowבַּעֲבוּרba/a/VURbecause ofחׇזְקָםchoz/KAMtheir steadfastnessבְּהַאֲמִינָםbe/ha/a/mi/NAMwhen they believeבַּדָּבָרbad/da/VARin the thingאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhichיַאֲמִינוּya/a/MI/nuthey believeוּבַעֲבוּרu/va/a/VURfor becauseאֹמֶץO/metsof the firmnessלִבָּםlib/BAMof their heartsבְּהֵאוֹרָםbe/he/o/RAMwhen they are once enlightenedהִנֵּהhin/NEbeholdיְבָרְכֵםye/va/re/KHEMshall bless themיְהוָהAdonaiAdonaiוְיַאֲרִיךְve/ya/a/RIKHand prolongאֶת־יְמֵיהֶםet-ye/me/HEMtheir daysעַלalnotwithstandingעֲוֹנָם׃a/vo/NAMtheir iniquity

    And now, because of their steadfastness when they do believe in that thing which they do believe, for because of their firmness when they are once enlightened, behold, the Lord shall bless them and prolong their days, notwithstanding their iniquity—

11. 11

    הֵןhenyeaגַּםgamevenאִםimifיִדְעֲכוּyid/a/KHUthey should dwindleבְּאֵיןbe/ENwithoutאֱמוּנָהe/mu/NAfaithיַאֲרִיךְya/a/RIKHshall prolongיְהוָהAdonaiAdonaiאֶת־יְמֵיהֶםet-ye/me/HEMtheir daysעַד־בּוֹאad-bountil shall comeהָעֵתha/ETthe timeאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhichדִּבְּרוּdib/be/RUspokeעָלֶיהָa/LE/haof itאֲבוֹתֵינוּa/vo/TE/nuour fathersוְגַםve/GAMand alsoזֵנוֹסZE/nosZenosהַנָּבִיאhan/na/VIthe prophetוּנְבִיאִיםu/ne/vi/IMand prophetsרַבִּיםrab/BIMmanyעַל־הֲשָׁבַתal-ha/sha/VATconcerning the restorationאַחֵינוּa/CHE/nuof our brethrenהַלָּמָנִיםhal/La/ma/NIMthe Lamanitesשֵׁנִיתshe/NITagainלְדַעַתle/DA/atto the knowledgeהָאֱמֶת׃ha/e/METof the truth

    Yea, even if they should dwindle in unbelief the Lord shall prolong their days, until the time shall come which hath been spoken of by our fathers, and also by the prophet Zenos, and many other prophets, concerning the restoration of our brethren, the Lamanites, again to the knowledge of the truth—

    הֵןhenyeaאֹמֵרo/MERsayאֲנִיa/NIIלָכֶםla/KHEMunto youכִּיkithatבְּאַחֲרִיתbe/a/cha/RITin the latterהַיָּמִיםhay/ya/MIMdaysנִמְשְׁכוּnim/she/KHUhave been extendedהַבְטָחוֹתhav/ta/CHOTthe promisesיְהוָהAdonaiof Adonaiלְאַחֵינוּle/a/CHE/nuunto our brethrenהַלָּמָנִיםhal/La/ma/NIMthe Lamanitesוְעַלve/ALand notwithstandingצָרוֹתָםtsa/ro/TAMtheir afflictionsהָרַבּוֹתha/rab/BOTmanyאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhichיִהְיוּyih/YUthere shall beלָהֶםla/HEMto themוְאַףve/AFand notwithstandingכִּיkithatיִדָּחוּyid/da/CHUthey shall be drivenהֵנָּהHEN/nahitherוָהֵנָּהva/HEN/naand thitherעַל־פְּנֵיal-pe/NEupon the faceהָאָרֶץha/A/retsof the earthוְיֵרָדְפוּve/ye/ra/de/FUand be huntedוְיֻכּוּve/yuk/KUand shall be smittenוְיוּפְצוּve/yuf/TSUand scatteredבָּאָרֶץba/A/retsabroadוְאֵיןve/ENand there is noלָהֶםla/HEMto themמָקוֹםma/KOMplaceלְמִקְלָטle/mik/LATfor refugeיְרַחֵםye/ra/CHEMshall be mercifulיְהוָהAdonaiAdonaiעֲלֵיהֶם׃a/le/HEMunto them

    Yea, I say unto you, that in the latter times the promises of the Lord have been extended to our brethren, the Lamanites; and notwithstanding the many afflictions which they shall have, and notwithstanding they shall be driven to and fro upon the face of the earth, and be hunted, and shall be smitten and scattered abroad, having no place for refuge, the Lord shall be merciful unto them.

13. 13

    וְזֹאתve/ZOTand thisכַּנְּבוּאָהkan/ne/vu/Aaccording to the prophecyכִּיkithatיוּשְׁבוּyush/VUthey shall be broughtשֵׁנִיתshe/NITagainלְדַעַתle/DA/atto the knowledgeהָאֱמֶתha/e/METof the truthהִיאhiwhich isדַעַתDA/atthe knowledgeגּוֹאֲלָםGo/a/LAMof their Redeemerוְרוֹעָםve/ro/AMand their shepherdהַגָּדוֹלhag/ga/DOLgreatוְהַנֶּאֱמָןve/han/ne/e/MANand trueוְנִמְנוּve/nim/NUand be numberedבֵּיןbenamongצֹאנוֹ׃tso/NOhis sheep

    And this is according to the prophecy, that they shall again be brought to the true knowledge, which is the knowledge of their Redeemer, and their great and true shepherd, and be numbered among his sheep.

14. 14

    לָכֵןla/KHENthereforeאֹמֵרo/MERsayאֲנִיa/NIIלָכֶםla/KHEMunto youכִּיkithatיִיטַבyi/TAVit shall be betterלָהֶםla/HEMfor themמִכֶּםmik/KEMthan for youאִם־לֹאim-loexceptתָשׁוּבוּ׃ta/shu/VUyou repent

    Therefore I say unto you, it shall be better for them than for you except ye repent.

15. 15

    כִּיkiforהִנֵּהhin/NEbeholdלוּluhadהׇרְאוּhor/Ubeen shownלָהֶםla/HEMthemהַמַּעֲשִׂיםham/ma/a/SIMthe worksהַגְּדוֹלִיםhag/ge/do/LIMthe mightyאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhichהׇרְאוּhor/Uhave been shownלָכֶםla/KHEMyouאַףafyeaלָהֶםla/HEMunto themאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhoדָּעֲכוּda/a/KHUdwindledבְּאֵיןbe/ENwithoutאֱמוּנָהe/mu/NAfaithבַּעֲבוּרba/a/VURbecause ofמָסֹרֶתma/SO/retthe traditionsאֲבוֹתֵיהֶםa/vo/te/HEMof their fathersתִּרְאוּtir/Uyou can seeמִנַּפְשְׁכֶםmin/naf/she/KHEMof yourselvesכִּי־לֹאki-lothat neverדָעֲכוּda/a/KHUwould they have dwindledעוֹדodagainבְּאֵיןbe/ENwithoutאֱמוּנָה׃e/mu/NAfaith

    For behold, had the mighty works been shown unto them which have been shown unto you, yea, unto them who have dwindled in unbelief because of the traditions of their fathers, ye can see of yourselves that they never would again have dwindled in unbelief.

    לָכֵןla/KHENthereforeכֹּה־אָמַרko-a/MARthus saithיְהוָהAdonaiAdonaiלֹאlonotאַשְׁמִידֵםash/mi/DEMI will destroy themכָּלִילka/LILutterlyכִּי־אִםki-imbutאֶעֱשֶׂהe/e/SEI will causeכִּיkithatבְּיוֹםbe/YOMin the dayחׇכְמָתִיchokh/ma/TIof my wisdomיָשׁוּבוּya/SHU/vuthey shall returnאֵלַיe/LAYunto meנְאֻם־יְהוָה׃ne/UM-Adonaisaith Adonai

    Therefore, saith the Lord: I will not utterly destroy them, but I will cause that in the day of my wisdom they shall return again unto me, saith the Lord.

    וְעַתָּהve/at/TAand nowהִנֵּהhin/NEbeholdכֹהkhothusאָמַרa/MARsaithיְהוָהAdonaiAdonaiעַל־עַםal-amconcerning the peopleהַנֶּפִיִּיםhan/Ne/fiy/YIMof the Nephitesאִם־לֹאim-loif notיָשׁוּבוּya/SHU/vuthey repentוְיִשְׁמְרוּve/yish/me/RUand observeלַעֲשׂוֹתla/a/SOTto doרְצוֹנִיre/tso/NImy willהַשְׁמֵדhash/MEDutterlyאַשְׁמִידֵםash/mi/DEMI will destroy themנְאֻם־יְהוָהne/UM-Adonaisaith Adonaiבַּעֲבוּרba/a/VURbecause ofמַעֲלָםma/a/LAMtheir unbeliefעַלalnotwithstandingכׇּל־הַמַּעֲשִׂיםkol-ham/ma/a/SIMall the worksהַגְּדוֹלִיםhag/ge/do/LIMthe mightyאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhichעָשִׂיתִיa/SI/tiI didבְתוֹכָםve/to/KHAMamong themוְכַחַיve/kha/CHAYand as surely as livesיְהוָהAdonaiAdonaiכֵּןkensoיִהְיוּyih/YUshall beהַדְּבָרִיםhad/de/va/RIMthe thingsהָאֵלֶּהha/EL/letheseנְאֻם־יְהוָה׃ne/UM-Adonaisaith Adonai

    And now behold, saith the Lord, concerning the people of the Nephites: If they will not repent, and observe to do my will, I will utterly destroy them, saith the Lord, because of their unbelief notwithstanding the many mighty works which I have done among them; and as surely as the Lord liveth shall these things be, saith the Lord.
