   And now there began to be a great curse upon all the land because of the iniquity of the people, in which, if a man should lay his tool or his sword upon his shelf, or upon the place whither he would keep it, behold, upon the morrow, he could not find it, so great was the curse upon the land.

   לָכֵןla/KHENwhereforeהֶחֱזִיקhe/che/ZIKcleavedכׇּל־אִישׁkol-ishevery manבַּאֲשֶׁרba/a/SHERunto that whichלוֹlowas hisבְּיָדָיוbe/ya/DAYVwith his handsוְלֹאve/LOand notיִשְׁאַלyish/ALwould he borrowוְלֹאve/LOneitherיַשְׁאִילyash/ILwould he lendוְכׇל־אִישׁve/KHOL-ishand every manהֶחֱזִיקhe/che/ZIKkeptאֶת־נִצַּבet-nits/TSAVthe hiltחַרְבּוֹchar/BOof his swordבִּימִינוֹbi/mi/NOin his right handלְהָגֵןle/ha/GENto defendעַל־רְכוּשׁוֹal-re/khu/SHOhis propertyוְחַיָּיוve/chay/YAYVand his lifeוְנָשָׁיוve/na/SHAYVand his wivesוּבָנָיו׃u/va/NAYVand his children

   Wherefore every man did cleave unto that which was his own, with his hands, and would not borrow neither would he lend; and every man kept the hilt of his sword in his right hand, in the defence of his property and his own life and of his wives and children.

   וְעַתָּהve/at/TAand nowאַחֲרֵיa/cha/REafterשְׁנָתַיִםshe/na/TA/yimtwo yearsיָמִיםya/MIMof daysוְאַחֲרֵיve/a/cha/REand afterמוֹתmotthe deathשָׁרֶדSHA/redof Sharedהִנֵּהhin/NEbeholdקָםkamthere aroseאֲחִיa/CHIthe brotherשָׁרֶדSHA/redof Sharedוַיִּלָּחֶםvay/yil/LA/chemand he foughtבְּכוֹרִיַנְטוּמְרbe/Kho/ri/YAN/tumragainst Coriantumrוַיַּכֵּהוּvay/yak/KE/huand beat himכוֹרִיַנְטוּמְרKho/ri/YAN/tumrCoriantumrוַיִּרְדְּפֵהוּvay/yir/de/FE/huand pursued himעַד־מִדְבַּרad-mid/BARto the wildernessעָכִישׁ׃A/khishof Akish

   And now, after the space of two years, and after the death of Shared, behold, there arose the brother of Shared and he gave battle unto Coriantumr, in which Coriantumr did beat him and did pursue him to the wilderness of Akish.

   וַיְהִיvay/HIand it happenedכִּיkithatנִלְחַםnil/CHAMfoughtבּוֹboagainst himאֲחִיa/CHIthe brotherשָׁרֶדSHA/redof Sharedבְּמִדְבַּרbe/mid/BARin the wildernessעָכִישׁA/khishof Akishוַתִּכְבַּדvat/tikh/BADand became soreהַמִּלְחָמָהham/mil/cha/MAthe battleמְאֹדme/ODexceedinglyוַיִּפְּלוּvay/yip/pe/LUand there fellאֲלָפִיםa/la/FIMthousandsרַבִּיםrab/BIMmanyבֶּחָרֶב׃be/CHA/revby the sword

   And it came to pass that the brother of Shared did give battle unto him in the wilderness of Akish; and the battle became exceedingly sore, and many thousands fell by the sword.

   וַיְהִיvay/HIand it happenedכִּיkithatצָרtsarlaid siegeכוֹרִיַנְטוּמְרKho/ri/YAN/tumrCoriantumrעַל־הַמִּדְבָּרal-ham/mid/BARto the wildernessוַיֵּצֵאvay/ye/TSEand went forthאֲחִיa/CHIthe brotherשָׁרֶדSHA/redof Sharedמִן־הַמִּדְבָּרmin-ham/mid/BARfrom the wildernessבַּלַּיְלָהbal/LAY/laby nightוַיַּךְvay/YAKHand slewחֵלֶקCHE/leka partמִצְּבָאmits/tse/VAof the armyכוֹרִיַנְטוּמְרKho/ri/YAN/tumrof Coriantumrבִּהְיוֹתָםbih/yo/TAMas they wereשִׁכּוֹרִים׃shik/ko/RIMdrunken

   And it came to pass that Coriantumr did lay siege to the wilderness; and the brother of Shared did march forth out of the wilderness by night, and slew a part of the army of Coriantumr, as they were drunken.

   וַיָּבֹאvay/ya/VOand he cameאֶל־אֶרֶץel-E/retsto the landמוֹרוֹןMO/ronof Moronוַיֵּשֶׁבvay/YE/shevand satעַל־כִּסֵּאal-kis/SEupon the throneכוֹרִיַנְטוּמְר׃Kho/ri/YAN/tumrof Coriantumr

   And he came forth to the land of Moron, and placed himself upon the throne of Coriantumr.

   וַיְהִיvay/HIand it happenedכִּיkithatיָשַׁבya/SHAVdweltכוֹרִיַנְטוּמְרKho/ri/YAN/tumrCoriantumrעִם־צְבָאוֹim-tse/va/Owith his armyבַּמִּדְבָּרbam/mid/BARin the wildernessשְׁנָתַיִםshe/na/TA/yimtwo yearsיָמִיםya/MIMof daysאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhichבָּהֶםba/HEMin themהוֹסִיףho/SIFhe addedחֹזֶקCHO/zekstrengthרַבravgreatלִצְבָאוֹ׃lits/va/Oto his army

   And it came to pass that Coriantumr dwelt with his army in the wilderness for the space of two years, in which he did receive great strength to his army.

   וְעַתָּהve/at/TAand nowאֲחִיa/CHIthe brotherשָׁרֶדSHA/redof Sharedוּשְׁמוֹu/she/MOand his name wasגִּלְעָדGil/ADGileadהוֹסִיףho/SIFaddedגַּם־הוּאgam-huhe alsoחֹזֶקCHO/zekstrengthרַבravgreatלִצְבָאוֹlits/va/Oto his armyבַּעֲבוּרba/a/VURbecause ofקִשְׁרֵיkish/REthe combinationsסֵתֶר׃SE/terof secret

   Now the brother of Shared, whose name was Gilead, also received great strength to his army, because of secret combinations.

   וַיְהִיvay/HIand it happenedכִּיkithatרְצָחוֹre/tsa/CHOmurdered himכֹּהֲנוֹko/ha/NOhis priestהַגָּדוֹלhag/ga/DOLthe highבְּשִׁבְתּוֹbe/shiv/TOas he satעַל־כִּסְאוֹ׃al-kis/Oupon his throne

   And it came to pass that his high priest murdered him as he sat upon his throne.

    וַיְהִיvay/HIand it happenedכִּיkithatרְצָחוֹre/tsa/CHOmurdered himאֶחָדe/CHADoneמִקִּשְׁרֵיmik/kish/REof the combinationsהַסֵּתֶרhas/SE/terof the secretבְּמַעֲבָרbe/ma/a/VARin a passנִסְתָּרnis/TARsecretוַיִּלְכֹּדvay/yil/KODand tookהַמַּמְלָכָהham/mam/la/KHAthe kingdomלוֹloto himselfוּשְׁמוֹu/she/MOand his name wasלִיבLivLibוְלִיבve/LIVand Libהָיָהha/YAwasאִישׁisha manגָּדוֹלga/DOLgreatבְּקוֹמָתוֹbe/ko/ma/TOin his statureיוֹתֵרyo/TERmoreמִכׇּל־אִישׁmik/KOL-ishthan any manבְּכׇל־הָעָם׃be/KHOL-ha/AMamong all the people

    And it came to pass that one of the secret combinations murdered him in a secret pass, and obtained unto himself the kingdom; and his name was Lib; and Lib was a man of great stature, more than any other man among all the people.

    וַיְהִיvay/HIand it wasבִּשְׁנַתbish/NATin the yearלִיבLivof Libהָרִאשׁוֹנָהha/ri/sho/NAthe firstוַיַּעַלvay/YA/aland came upכוֹרִיַנְטוּמְרKho/ri/YAN/tumrCoriantumrאֶל־אֶרֶץel-E/retsto the landמוֹרוֹןMO/ronof Moronוַיִּלָּחֶםvay/yil/LA/chemand foughtבְּלִיב׃be/LIVagainst Lib

    And it came to pass that in the first year of Lib, Coriantumr came up unto the land of Moron, and gave battle unto Lib.

12. 12

    וַיְהִיvay/HIand it happenedכִּיkithatנִלְחַםnil/CHAMhe foughtבְּלִיבbe/LIVwith Libוַיַּכֵּהוּvay/yak/KE/huand smote himלִיבLivLibעַל־זְרוֹעוֹal-ze/ro/Oupon his armעַד־כִּיad-kithatנִפְצַעnif/TSAhe was woundedוְאַךְve/AKHneverthelessדָּחַקda/CHAKpressed forwardצְבָאtse/VAthe armyכוֹרִיַנְטוּמְרKho/ri/YAN/tumrof Coriantumrאֶת־לִיבet-Livupon Libעַד־כִּיad-kithatנָסnashe fledאֶל־גְּבוּלוֹתel-ge/vu/LOTto the bordersחוֹףchofof the shoreהַיָּם׃hay/YAMof the sea

    And it came to pass that he fought with Lib, in which Lib did smite upon his arm that he was wounded; nevertheless, the army of Coriantumr did press forward upon Lib, that he fled to the borders upon the seashore.

13. 13

    וַיְהִיvay/HIand it happenedכִּיkithatרָדַףra/DAFpursuedכוֹרִיַנְטוּמְרKho/ri/YAN/tumrCoriantumrאַחֲרָיוa/cha/RAYVafter himוַיִּלָּחֶםvay/yil/LA/chemand foughtבּוֹboagainst himלִיבLivLibעַל־חוֹףal-chofupon the shoreהַיָּם׃hay/YAMof the sea

    And it came to pass that Coriantumr pursued him; and Lib gave battle unto him upon the seashore.

14. 14

    וַיְהִיvay/HIand it happenedכִּיkithatהִכָּהhik/KAsmoteלִיבLivLibאֶת־צְבָאet-tse/VAthe armyכוֹרִיַנְטוּמְרKho/ri/YAN/tumrof Coriantumrוַיָּנוּסוּvay/ya/NU/suand they fledשֵׁנִיתshe/NITagainאֶל־מִדְבַּרel-mid/BARto the wildernessעָכִישׁ׃A/khishof Akish

    And it came to pass that Lib did smite the army of Coriantumr, that they fled again to the wilderness of Akish.

    וַיְהִיvay/HIand it happenedכִּיkithatרָדַףra/DAFpursuedלִיבLivLibאַחֲרָיוa/cha/RAYVafter himעַד־בֹּאוֹad-bo/Ountil he cameאֶל־עַרְבוֹתel-ar/VOTto the plainsאָגוֹשׁA/goshof Agoshוְכוֹרִיַנְטוּמְרve/Kho/ri/YAN/tumrand Coriantumrלָקַחla/KACHhad takenאֶת־כׇּל־הָעָםet-kol-ha/AMall the peopleאִתּוֹit/TOwith himבְּנוּסוֹbe/nu/SOas he fledמִפְּנֵיmip/pe/NEbeforeלִיבLivLibבְּחֵלֶקbe/CHE/lekin the quarterהָאָרֶץha/A/retsof the landהַהוּאha/HUthatאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhichנָסnashe fledשָׁמָּה׃SHAM/mathere

    And it came to pass that Lib did pursue him until he came to the plains of Agosh. And Coriantumr had taken all the people with him as he fled before Lib in that quarter of the land whither he fled.

    וַיְהִיvay/HIand it happenedכְּבֹאוֹke/vo/Owhen he cameאֶל־עַרְבוֹתel-ar/VOTto the plainsאָגוֹשׁA/goshof Agoshוַיִּלָּחֶםvay/yil/LA/chemhe foughtבְּלִיבbe/LIVagainst Libוַיַּכֵּהוּvay/yak/KE/huand he smote himעַד־מוֹתוֹad-mo/TOuntil he diedאַךְakhbutבָּאbacameאֲחִיa/CHIthe brotherלִיבLivof LibנֶגֶדNE/gedagainstכוֹרִיַנְטוּמְרKho/ri/YAN/tumrCoriantumrתַּחְתָּיוtach/TAYVin his steadוַתִּכְבַּדvat/tikh/BADand became soreהַמִּלְחָמָהham/mil/cha/MAthe battleמְאֹדme/ODexceedinglyוַיָּנׇסvay/YA/nosand fledכוֹרִיַנְטוּמְרKho/ri/YAN/tumrCoriantumrשֵׁנִיתshe/NITagainמִפְּנֵיmip/pe/NEbeforeצְבָאtse/VAthe armyאֲחִיa/CHIof the brotherלִיב׃Livof Lib

    And when he had come to the plains of Agosh he gave battle unto Lib, and he smote upon him until he died; nevertheless, the brother of Lib did come against Coriantumr in the stead thereof, and the battle became exceedingly sore, in the which Coriantumr fled again before the army of the brother of Lib.

    וְשֵׁםve/SHEMand the nameאֲחִיa/CHIof the brotherלִיבLivof LibשִׁיזShizShizוַיְהִיvay/HIand it happenedכִּיkithatרָדַףra/DAFpursuedשִׁיזShizShizאַחֲרֵיa/cha/REafterכוֹרִיַנְטוּמְרKho/ri/YAN/tumrCoriantumrוַיַּהֲפֹךְvay/ya/ha/FOKHand he overthrewעָרִיםa/RIMcitiesרַבּוֹתrab/BOTmanyוַיַּהֲרֹגvay/ya/ha/ROGand he slewגַּם־נָשִׁיםgam-na/SHIMboth womenוָטַףva/TAFand childrenוַיִּשְׂרֹףvay/yis/ROFand he burnedאֶת־הֶעָרִים׃et-he/a/RIMthe cities

    Now the name of the brother of Lib was called Shiz. And it came to pass that Shiz pursued after Coriantumr, and he did overthrow many cities, and he did slay both women and children, and he did burn the cities.

18. 18

    וַתִּפֹּלvat/tip/POLand fellאֵימַתE/mata fearשִׁיזShizof Shizעַל־כׇּל־הָאָרֶץal-kol-ha/A/retsupon all the landאַףafyeaיָצָאya/TSAwent forthקוֹלkola cryבְּכׇל־הָאָרֶץbe/KHOL-ha/A/retsthroughout all the landמִיmiwhoיַעֲמֹדya/a/MODcan standלִפְנֵיlif/NEbeforeצְבָאtse/VAthe armyשִׁיזShizof Shizהִנֵּהhin/NEbeholdמְטַאטֵאme/ta/TEsweepsהוּאhuheאֶת־הָאָרֶץet-ha/A/retsthe earthלְפָנָיו׃le/fa/NAYVbefore him

    And there went a fear of Shiz throughout all the land; yea, a cry went forth throughout the land—Who can stand before the army of Shiz? Behold, he sweepeth the earth before him!

19. 19

    וַיְהִיvay/HIand it happenedכִּיkithatהֵחֵלhe/CHELbeganהָעָםha/AMthe peopleלְהִקָּבֵץle/hik/ka/VETSto gather togetherלִצְבָאוֹתlits/va/OTinto armiesעַל־כׇּל־פְּנֵיal-kol-pe/NEupon all the faceהָאָרֶץ׃ha/A/retsof the land

    And it came to pass that the people began to flock together in armies, throughout all the face of the land.

20. 20

    וַיֵּחָלְקוּvay/ye/cha/le/KUand they were dividedוַיָּנׇסvay/YA/nosand fledחֵלֶקCHE/leka partמֵהֶםme/HEMof themאֶל־צְבָאel-tse/VAto the armyשִׁיזShizof Shizוְחֵלֶקve/CHE/lekand a partמֵהֶםme/HEMof themנָסnasfledאֶל־צְבָאel-tse/VAto the armyכוֹרִיַנְטוּמְר׃Kho/ri/YAN/tumrof Coriantumr

    And they were divided; and a part of them fled to the army of Shiz, and a part of them fled to the army of Coriantumr.

21. 21

    וְכֹהve/KHOand soגְדוֹלָהge/do/LAgreatוַאֲרֻכָּהva/a/ruk/KAand lastingהָיְתָהha/ye/TAhad beenהַמִּלְחָמָהham/mil/cha/MAthe warוְכֹהve/KHOand soאָרַךְa/RAKHhad been longמַרְאֵהmar/Ethe sceneשְׁפֹךְshe/FOKHof the sheddingהַדָּמִיםhad/da/MIMof the bloodוְהַטֶּבַחve/hat/TE/vachand the carnageעַד־כִּיad-kithatכֻסְּתָהkhus/se/TAwas coveredכׇל־פְּנֵיkhol-pe/NEthe whole faceהָאָרֶץha/A/retsof the landבִּגְוִיּוֹתbig/viy/YOTwith the bodiesהַמֵּתִים׃ham/me/TIMof the dead

    And so great and lasting had been the war, and so long had been the scene of bloodshed and carnage, that the whole face of the land was covered with the bodies of the dead.

    וְכֹהve/KHOand soמְהִירָהme/hi/RAswiftוּמְמֹהֶרֶתu/me/mo/HE/retand speedyהָיְתָהha/ye/TAwasהַמִּלְחָמָהham/mil/cha/MAthe warעַד־כִּיad-kithatלֹאlonotנוֹתַרno/TARwas leftאִישׁishany manלִקְבֹּרlik/BORto buryאֶת־הַמֵּתִיםet-ham/me/TIMthe deadכִּיkibutהָלְכוּha/le/KHUthey wentמִשְּׁפֹךְmish/she/FOKHfrom the sheddingדָּמִיםda/MIMof bloodאֶל־שְׁפֹךְel-she/FOKHto the sheddingדָּמִיםda/MIMof bloodמַשְׁאִירִיםmash/i/RIMleavingאֶת־גְּוִיּוֹתet-ge/viy/YOTthe bodiesהָאֲנָשִׁיםha/a/na/SHIMof the menוְהַנָּשִׁיםve/han/na/SHIMand the womenוְהַטַּףve/hat/TAFand the childrenשְׁטוּחִיםshe/tu/CHIMstrewedעַל־פְּנֵיal-pe/NEupon the faceהָאָרֶץha/A/retsof the landלִהְיוֹתlih/YOTto becomeטֶרֶףTE/refa preyלְתוֹלְעֵיle/tol/Eto the wormsהַבָּשָׂר׃hab/ba/SARof the flesh

    And so swift and speedy was the war that there was none left to bury the dead, but they did march forth from the shedding of blood to the shedding of blood, leaving the bodies of both men, women, and children strewed upon the face of the land, to become a prey to the worms of the flesh.

    וַיַּעַלvay/YA/aland went upרֵיחַRE/achthe scentהַפְּגָרִיםhap/pe/ga/RIMof the corpsesעַל־פְּנֵיal-pe/NEupon the faceהָאָרֶץha/A/retsof the landעַל־כׇּל־פְּנֵיal-kol-pe/NEupon all the faceהָאָרֶץha/A/retsof the landוַיִּבָּהֲלוּvay/yib/ba/ha/LUand were troubledהָעָםha/AMthe peopleיוֹמָםyo/MAMby dayוָלַיְלָהva/LAY/laand by nightמִפְּנֵיmip/pe/NEbecause ofהָרֵיחַ׃ha/RE/achthe scent

    And the scent thereof went forth upon the face of the land, even upon all the face of the land; wherefore the people became troubled by day and by night, because of the scent thereof.

    וְאַךְve/AKHneverthelessלֹא־חָדַלlo-cha/DALdid not ceaseשִׁיזShizShizמֵרְדֹףmer/DOFfrom pursuingאַחֲרֵיa/cha/REafterכוֹרִיַנְטוּמְרKho/ri/YAN/tumrCoriantumrכִּיkiforנִשְׁבַּעnish/BAhe sworeלְהִנָּקֵםle/hin/na/KEMto avenge himselfמִכּוֹרִיַנְטוּמְרmik/Ko/ri/YAN/tumrupon Coriantumrדַּם־אָחִיוdam-a/CHIVof the blood of his brotherאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhoנֶהֱרַגne/he/RAGhad been slainוּדְבַר־יְהוָהu/De/VAR-Adonaiand the word of Adonaiאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhichהָיָהha/YAcameאֶל־אֶתֶרel-E/terto Etherכִּיkithatלֹא־יִפֹּלlo-yip/POLshould not fallכוֹרִיַנְטוּמְרKho/ri/YAN/tumrCoriantumrבֶּחָרֶב׃be/CHA/revby the sword

    Nevertheless, Shiz did not cease to pursue Coriantumr; for he had sworn to avenge himself upon Coriantumr of the blood of his brother, who had been slain, and the word of the Lord which came to Ether that Coriantumr should not fall by the sword.

    וּבָזֹאתu/va/ZOTand by thisנִרְאֶהnir/Ewe seeכִּי־פָקַדki-fa/KADthat visitedיְהוָהAdonaiAdonaiעֲלֵיהֶםa/le/HEMthemבִּמְלֹאbim/LOin the fulnessחֲרוֹןcha/RONof the fiercenessאַפּוֹap/POof his wrathוְרִשְׁעָתָםve/rish/a/TAMand their wickednessוְתוֹעֲבוֹתֵיהֶםve/to/a/vo/te/HEMand their abominationsהֵכִינוּhe/KHI/nupreparedדֶּרֶךְDE/rekha wayלְאׇבְדָנָםle/ov/da/NAMfor their destructionאֲשֶׁר־לְעוֹלָם׃a/SHER-le/o/LAMeverlasting

    And thus we see that the Lord did visit them in the fulness of his wrath, and their wickedness and abominations had prepared a way for their everlasting destruction.

    וַיְהִיvay/HIand it happenedכִּיkithatרָדַףra/DAFpursuedשִׁיזShizShizאַחֲרֵיa/cha/REafterכוֹרִיַנְטוּמְרKho/ri/YAN/tumrCoriantumrקֵדְמָהKED/maeastwardעַד־גְּבוּלad-ge/VULeven to the bordersחוֹףchofthe shoreהַיָּםhay/YAMof the seaוַיִּלָּחֶםvay/yil/LA/chemand he foughtשָׁםshamthereבְּשִׁיזbe/SHIZagainst Shizשְׁלֹשֶׁתshe/LO/shetthreeיָמִים׃ya/MIMdays

    And it came to pass that Shiz did pursue Coriantumr eastward, even to the borders by the seashore, and there he gave battle unto Shiz for the space of three days.

    And so terrible was the destruction among the armies of Shiz that the people began to be frightened, and began to flee before the armies of Coriantumr; and they fled to the land of Corihor, and swept off the inhabitants before them, all them that would not join them.

    And they pitched their tents in the valley of Corihor; and Coriantumr pitched his tents in the valley of Shurr. Now the valley of Shurr was near the hill Comnor; wherefore, Coriantumr did gather his armies together upon the hill Comnor, and did sound a trumpet unto the armies of Shiz to invite them forth to battle.

    וַיְהִיvay/HIand it happenedכִּיkithatיָצְאוּya/tse/Uthey came forthוַיִּנָּגְפוּvay/yin/na/ge/FUand they were drivenוַיָּשֻׁבוּvay/ya/SHU/vuand they returnedשֵׁנִיתshe/NITagainוַיִּנָּגְפוּvay/yin/na/ge/FUand they were drivenגַּם־בַּשֵּׁנִיתgam-bash/she/NITalso the second timeוַיְהִיvay/HIand it happenedכִּיkithatשָׁבוּSHA/vuthey returnedבַּשְּׁלִישִׁיתbash/she/li/SHITthe third timeוַתִּכְבַּדvat/tikh/BADand became soreהַמִּלְחָמָהham/mil/cha/MAthe battleעַד־מְאֹד׃ad-me/ODexceedingly

    And it came to pass that they came forth, but were driven again; and they came the second time, and they were driven again the second time. And it came to pass that they came again the third time, and the battle became exceedingly sore.

    וַיְהִיvay/HIand it happenedכִּיkithatהִכָּהhik/KAsmoteשִׁיזShizShizאֶת־כּוֹרִיַנְטוּמְרet-Ko/ri/YAN/tumrCoriantumrוַיִּפְצַעvay/yif/TSAand he woundedבּוֹbohimפְּצָעִיםpe/tsa/IMwoundsרַבִּיםrab/BIMmanyוַעֲמֻקִּיםva/a/muk/KIMand deepוַיִּתְעַלֵּףvay/yit/al/LEFand faintedכוֹרִיַנְטוּמְרKho/ri/YAN/tumrCoriantumrמֵאׇבְדַןme/ov/DANfrom the lossדָּמוֹda/MOof his bloodוַיִּשָּׂאֻהוּvay/yis/sa/U/huand they carried him awayכַּמֵּת׃kam/METas though he were dead

    And it came to pass that Shiz smote upon Coriantumr that he gave him many deep wounds; and Coriantumr, having lost his blood, fainted, and was carried away as though he were dead.

    וַיְהִיvay/HIand wasאׇבְדַןov/DANthe lossהָאֲנָשִׁיםha/a/na/SHIMof the menוְהַנָּשִׁיםve/han/na/SHIMand the womenוְהַטַּףve/hat/TAFand the childrenמִשְּׁנֵיmish/she/NEon bothהַצְּדָדִיםhats/tse/da/DIMsidesרַבravgreatעַד־מְאֹדad-me/ODexceedinglyוַיְצַוvay/TSAVand commandedשִׁיזShizShizאֶת־עַמּוֹet-am/MOhis peopleלְבִלְתִּיle/vil/TInot toרְדֹףre/DOFpursueאַחֲרֵיa/cha/REafterצִבְאוֹתtsiv/OTthe armiesכוֹרִיַנְטוּמְרKho/ri/YAN/tumrof Coriantumrוַיָּשׁוּבוּvay/ya/SHU/vuand they returnedאֶל־מַחֲנֵיהֶם׃el-ma/cha/ne/HEMto their camp

    Now the loss of men, women and children on both sides was so great that Shiz commanded his people that they should not pursue the armies of Coriantumr; wherefore, they returned to their camp.
