   And now, my son Helaman, I command you that ye take the records which have been entrusted with me;

   And I also command you that ye keep a record of this people, according as I have done, upon the plates of Nephi, and keep all these things sacred which I have kept, even as I have kept them; for it is for a wise purpose that they are kept.

   And these plates of brass, which contain these engravings, which have the records of the holy scriptures upon them, which have the genealogy of our forefathers, even from the beginning—

   הִנֵּהhin/NEbeholdנִבְּאוּnib/be/Uprophesiedאֲבוֹתֵינוּa/vo/TE/nuour fathersכִּיkithatיִשָּׁמְרוּyish/sha/me/RUthey should be keptוְיׇעׇבְרוּve/yo/ov/RUand handed downמִדּוֹרmid/DORfrom generationלְדוֹרle/DORto generationוְיִשָּׁמְרוּve/yish/sha/me/RUand be keptוְיִנָּצְרוּve/yin/na/tse/RUand preservedבְּיַד־יְהוָהbe/YAD-Adonaiby the hand of Adonaiעַד־אֲשֶׁרad-a/SHERuntilיֵצְאוּyets/Uthey should go forthלְכׇלle/KHOLunto everyגּוֹיgoynationוּמִשְׁפָּחָהu/mish/pa/CHAand kindredוְלָשׁוֹןve/la/SHONand tongueוָעָםva/AMand peopleלְמַעַןle/MA/anthatיֵדְעוּyed/Uthey shall knowאֶת־הַנִּסְתָּרוֹתet-han/nis/ta/ROTthe mysteriesאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhichבָּם׃bamare in them

   Behold, it has been prophesied by our fathers, that they should be kept and handed down from one generation to another, and be kept and preserved by the hand of the Lord until they should go forth unto every nation, kindred, tongue, and people, that they shall know of the mysteries contained thereon.

   וְעַתָּהve/at/TAand nowהִנֵּהhin/NEbeholdאִםimifיִשָּׁמְרוּyish/sha/me/RUthey are keptיִשְׁמְרוּyish/me/RUthey must retainאֶת־זׇהֳרָםet-zo/ho/RAMtheir brightnessהֵןhenyeaוְיִשְׁמְרוּve/yish/me/RUand they will retainאֶת־זׇהֳרָםet-zo/ho/RAMtheir brightnessהֵןhenyeaוְכֵןve/KHENand alsoכׇּלkolshall allהַלּוּחוֹתhal/lu/CHOTthe platesאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhichבָּםbamin themכְּתָבke/TAVwritקֹדֶשׁ׃KO/deshholy

   And now behold, if they are kept they must retain their brightness; yea, and they will retain their brightness; yea, and also shall all the plates which do contain that which is holy writ.

   Now ye may suppose that this is foolishness in me; but behold I say unto you, that by small and simple things are great things brought to pass; and small means in many instances doth confound the wise.

   וַיהוָהve-Adonaiand Adonaiאֱלֹהִיםe/lo/HIMGodפּוֹעֵלpo/ELworksבִּדְבָרִיםbid/va/RIMby meansלְהָבִיאle/ha/VIto bring aboutאֶת־עֲצוֹתָיוet-a/tso/TAYVhis purposesהַגְּדוֹלוֹתhag/ge/do/LOTgreatאֲשֶׁר־לְעוֹלָםa/SHER-le/o/LAMeternalוּבִדְבָרִיםu/vid/va/RIMand by meansקְטַנִּיםke/tan/NIMsmallמְאֹדme/ODveryיָבִישׁya/VISHconfoundsיְהוָהAdonaiAdonaiאֶת־הַחֲכָמִיםet-ha/cha/kha/MIMthe wiseוּמֵבִיאu/me/VIand brings aboutיְשׁוּעָהye/shu/Asalvationלְנַפְשׁוֹתle/naf/SHOTto soulsרַבּוֹת׃rab/BOTmany

   And the Lord God doth work by means to bring about his great and eternal purposes; and by very small means the Lord doth confound the wise and bringeth about the salvation of many souls.

   וְעַתָּהve/at/TAand nowהָיְתָהha/ye/TAit has beenחׇכְמָהchokh/MAwisdomבֵאלֹהִיםve/lo/HIMin Godעַד־הֵנָּהad-HEN/nahithertoכִּיkithatיִשָּׁמְרוּyish/sha/me/RUshould be preservedהַדְּבָרִיםhad/de/va/RIMthe thingsהָאֵלֶּהha/EL/letheseכִּיkiforהִנֵּהhin/NEbeholdהִגְדִּילוּhig/DI/luthey enlargedאֶת־זִכְרוֹןet-zikh/RONthe memoryהָעָם־הַזֶּהha/AM-haz/ZEof this peopleהֵןhenyeaוְהוֹכִיחוּve/ho/khi/CHUand convincedרַבִּיםrab/BIMmanyמֵעִוּוּתme/iv/VUTof the errorדַּרְכֵיהֶםdar/khe/HEMof their waysוֶהֱבִיאוּםve/he/vi/UMand brought themלְדַעַתle/DA/atto knowאֶת־אֱלֹהֵיהֶםet-e/lo/he/HEMtheir Godלִישׁוּעַתli/shu/ATunto the salvationנַפְשָׁם׃naf/SHAMof their souls

   And now, it has hitherto been wisdom in God that these things should be preserved; for behold, they have enlarged the memory of this people, yea, and convinced many of the error of their ways, and brought them to the knowledge of their God unto the salvation of their souls.

   Yea, I say unto you, were it not for these things that these records do contain, which are on these plates, Ammon and his brethren could not have convinced so many thousands of the Lamanites of the incorrect tradition of their fathers; yea, these records and their words brought them unto repentance; that is, they brought them to the knowledge of the Lord their God, and to rejoice in Jesus Christ their Redeemer.

    וּמִיu/MIand whoיוֹדֵעַyo/DE/aknowsאִם־לֹאim-loif notיִהְיוּyih/YUthey will beלְהָבִיאle/ha/VIto bringאֲלָפִיםa/la/FIMthousandsרַבִּיםrab/BIMmanyמֵהֶםme/HEMof themהֵןhenyeaוְגַםve/GAMand alsoאֲלָפִיםa/la/FIMthousandsרַבִּיםrab/BIMmanyמֵאַחֵינוּme/a/CHE/nuof our brethrenקְשֵׁיke/SHEstiffהָעֹרֶףha/O/refof neckהַנֶּפִיִּיםhan/Ne/fiy/YIMthe Nephitesהַמַּקְשִׁיםham/mak/SHIMwho are hardeningעַתָּהat/TAnowאֶת־לִבָּםet-lib/BAMtheir heartsבְּחֵטְאbe/CHETin sinוּבְעָוֹןu/ve/a/VONand iniquitiesלְדַעַתle/DA/atto knowאֶת־גֹּאֲלָם׃et-Go/a/LAMtheir Redeemer

    And who knoweth but what they will be the means of bringing many thousands of them, yea, and also many thousands of our stiffnecked brethren, the Nephites, who are now hardening their hearts in sin and iniquities, to the knowledge of their Redeemer?

11. 11

    וְעַתָּהve/at/TAnowהַנִּסְתָּרוֹתhan/nis/ta/ROTthe mysteriesהָאֵלֶּהha/EL/letheseטֶרֶםTE/remnot yetנִגְלוּnig/LUare made knownלִיliunto meבִּמְלוֹאָםbim/lo/AMin their fulnessלָכֵןla/KHENthereforeאֶחְדַּל׃ech/DALI shall forbear

    Now these mysteries are not yet fully made known unto me; therefore I shall forbear.

12. 12

    וְדַיve/DAYand it may sufficeאִםimifאֹמַרo/MARI sayכִּיkithatנִשְׁמָרִיםnish/ma/RIMare preservedהֵםhemtheyלְמַעַןle/MA/anforחׇכְמָתוֹchokh/ma/TOhis wisdomאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhichיְדוּעָהye/du/Ais knownלֵאלֹהִיםle/lo/HIMunto Godכִּי־הוּאki-hufor heיוֹעֵץyo/ETScounselsבְּחׇכְמָהbe/chokh/MAin wisdomעַלaloverכׇּלkolallמַעֲשָׂיוma/a/SAYVhis worksוּדְרָכָיוu/de/ra/KHAYVand his pathsיְשָׁרוֹתye/sha/ROTare straightוּמַעְגָּלוֹu/ma/ga/LOand his course isמַעְגַּלma/GALroundעוֹלָםo/LAMeternalאֶחָד׃e/CHADone

    And it may suffice if I only say they are preserved for a wise purpose, which purpose is known unto God; for he doth counsel in wisdom over all his works, and his paths are straight, and his course is one eternal round.

    הוֹיhoyOזְכֹרze/KHORrememberזְכֹרze/KHORrememberבְּנִיbe/NImy sonהֵילָמָןHE/la/manHelamanמַהmahowקָשׁוֹתka/SHOTstrict areמִצְוֹת־אֱלֹהִיםmits/VOT-e/lo/HIMthe commandments of Godוְהוּאve/HUand heאָמַרa/MARsaidאִם־תִּשְׁמְרוּim-tish/me/RUif you will keepאֶת־מִצְוֹתַיet-mits/vo/TAYmy commandmentsתַּצְלִיחוּtats/li/CHUyou shall prosperבָּאָרֶץba/A/retsin the landאַךְakhbutאִם־לֹאim-loif notתִשְׁמְרוּtish/me/RUyou keepאֶת־מִצְוֹתָיוet-mits/vo/TAYVhis commandmentsתִּכָּרְתוּtik/ka/re/TUyou shall be cut offמִלְּפָנָיו׃mil/le/fa/NAYVfrom his presence

    O remember, remember, my son Helaman, how strict are the commandments of God. And he said: If ye will keep my commandments ye shall prosper in the land—but if ye keep not his commandments ye shall be cut off from his presence.

    וְעַתָּהve/at/TAand nowזְכֹרze/KHORrememberבְּנִיbe/NImy sonכִּיkithatהִפְקִידhif/KIDentrustedאֱלֹהִיםe/lo/HIMGodבְּיָדְךָbe/ya/de/KHAunto youאֶת־הַדְּבָרִיםet-had/de/va/RIMthe thingsהָאֵלֶּהha/EL/letheseהַקְּדוֹשִׁיםhak/ke/do/SHIMsacredאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhichקִדֵּשׁkid/DESHhe sanctifiedוַאֲשֶׁרva/a/SHERand whichיִשְׁמֹרyish/MORhe will keepוְיִנְצֹרve/yin/TSORand preserveלְמַעַןle/MA/anforחׇכְמָתוֹchokh/ma/TOhis wisdomלְמַעַןle/MA/anthatיַרְאֶהyar/Ehe may show forthאֶת־גְּבוּרָתוֹet-ge/vu/ra/TOhis powerלְדוֹרוֹתle/do/ROTunto generationsהַבָּאִים׃hab/ba/IMfuture

    And now remember, my son, that God has entrusted you with these things, which are sacred, which he has kept sacred, and also which he will keep and preserve for a wise purpose in him, that he may show forth his power unto future generations.

    וְעַתָּהve/at/TAand nowהִנֵּהhin/NEbeholdמַגִּידmag/GIDtellאֲנִיa/NIIלְךָle/KHAyouבְּרוּחַbe/RU/achby the spiritהַנְּבוּאָהhan/ne/vu/Aof prophecyכִּי־אִםki-imthat ifתַּעֲבֹרta/a/VORyou transgressעַלalagainstמִצְוֹת־אֱלֹהִיםmits/VOT-e/lo/HIMthe commandments of Godהִנֵּהhin/NEbeholdיִלָּקְחוּyil/la/ke/CHUshall be takenמִמְּךָmim/me/KHAfrom youהַדְּבָרִיםhad/de/va/RIMthe thingsהַקְּדוֹשִׁיםhak/ke/do/SHIMsacredהָאֵלֶּהha/EL/letheseבִּגְבוּרַתbig/vu/RATby the powerאֱלֹהִיםe/lo/HIMof Godוְתִמָּסֵרve/tim/ma/SERand you shall be deliveredבְּיַדbe/YADinto the handהַשָּׂטָןhas/Sa/TANof Satanלִזְרוֹתְךָliz/rot/KHAthat he may sift youכַּמּוֹץkam/MOTSas chaffלִפְנֵיlif/NEbeforeרוּחַ׃RU/achthe wind

    And now behold, I tell you by the spirit of prophecy, that if ye transgress the commandments of God, behold, these things which are sacred shall be taken away from you by the power of God, and ye shall be delivered up unto Satan, that he may sift you as chaff before the wind.

    אַךְakhbutאִםimifתִּשְׁמֹרtish/MORyou keepאֶת־מִצְוֹתet-mits/VOTthe commandmentsאֱלֹהִיםe/lo/HIMof Godוְתַעֲשֶׂהve/ta/a/SEand doבַּדְּבָרִיםbad/de/va/RIMwith the thingsהַקְּדוֹשִׁיםhak/ke/do/SHIMsacredהָאֵלֶּהha/EL/letheseכַּאֲשֶׁרka/a/SHERaccording asיְצַוֶּהye/tsav/VEshall commandיְהוָהAdonaiAdonai(כִּיki(forעָלֶיךָa/LE/khayou mustלִדְרֹשׁlid/ROSHseekאֶת־יְהוָהet-Adonaiunto Adonaiבְּכׇלbe/KHOLin allאֲשֶׁר־תַּעֲשֶׂהa/SHER-ta/a/SEthat you shall doבָּם)bamwith them)הִנֵּהhin/NEbeholdלֹא־יוּכַלlo-yu/KHALcannotכֹּחַKO/achany powerאֶרֶץE/retsof earthאוֹoorשְׁאוֹלshe/OLhellלְקַחְתָּםle/kach/TAMtake themמִמְּךָmim/me/KHAfrom youכִּיkiforאֱלֹהִיםe/lo/HIMGod isגִּבּוֹרgib/BORmightyלְמַלֹּאתle/mal/LOTto the fulfillingאֶת־כׇּל־דְּבָרָיו׃et-kol-de/va/RAYVof all his words

    But if ye keep the commandments of God, and do with these things which are sacred according to that which the Lord doth command you, (for you must appeal unto the Lord for all things whatsoever ye must do with them) behold, no power of earth or hell can take them from you, for God is powerful to the fulfilling of all his words.

    כִּיkiforיְמַלֵּאye/mal/LEhe will fulfilאֶת־כׇּלet-kolallהַבְטָחוֹתָיוhav/ta/cho/TAYVhis promisesאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhichיַבְטִיחַyav/TI/achhe shall makeלְךָle/KHAunto youכַּאֲשֶׁרka/a/SHERasמִלֵּאmil/LEhe fulfilledאֶת־הַבְטָחוֹתָיוet-hav/ta/cho/TAYVhis promisesאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhichהִבְטִיחַhiv/TI/achhe madeלַאֲבוֹתֵינוּ׃la/a/vo/TE/nuunto our fathers

    For he will fulfil all his promises which he shall make unto you, for he has fulfilled his promises which he has made unto our fathers.

18. 18

    כִּיkiforהִבְטִיחַhiv/TI/achhe promisedלָהֶםla/HEMthemכִּיkithatיִשְׁמֹרyish/MORhe would preserveאֶת־הַדְּבָרִיםet-had/de/va/RIMthe thingsהָאֵלֶּהha/EL/letheseלְמַעַןle/MA/anforחׇכְמָתוֹchokh/ma/TOhis wisdomלְמַעַןle/MA/anthatיַרְאֶהyar/Ehe might show forthאֶת־גְּבוּרָתוֹet-ge/vu/ra/TOhis powerלְדוֹרוֹתle/do/ROTunto generationsהַבָּאִים׃hab/ba/IMfuture

    For he promised unto them that he would preserve these things for a wise purpose in him, that he might show forth his power unto future generations.

    וְעַתָּהve/at/TAand nowהִנֵּהhin/NEbeholdמִלֵּאmil/LEhe fulfilledזֹאתzotthisבַּהֲשִׁיבוֹba/ha/shi/VOin bringing backאֲלָפִיםa/la/FIMthousandsרַבִּיםrab/BIMmanyמִן־הַלָּמָנִיםmin-Hal/la/ma/NIMof the Lamanitesלְדַעַתle/DA/atto knowהָאֱמֶתha/e/METthe truthוְהֶרְאָהve/her/Aand he showed forthאֶת־גְּבוּרָתוֹet-ge/vu/ra/TOhis powerבָּםbamin themוְעוֹדve/ODand stillיַרְאֶהyar/Ehe will show forthאֶת־גְּבוּרָתוֹet-ge/vu/ra/TOhis powerבָּםbamin themלְדוֹרוֹתle/do/ROTunto generationsהַבָּאִיםhab/ba/IMfutureלָכֵןla/KHENthereforeיִשָּׁמֵרוּ׃yish/sha/me/RUthey shall be preserved

    And now behold, one purpose hath he fulfilled, even to the restoration of many thousands of the Lamanites to the knowledge of the truth; and he hath shown forth his power in them, and he will also still show forth his power in them unto future generations; therefore they shall be preserved.

    Therefore I command you, my son Helaman, that ye be diligent in fulfilling all my words, and that ye be diligent in keeping the commandments of God as they are written.

    And now, I will speak unto you concerning those twenty-four plates, that ye keep them, that the mysteries and the works of darkness, and their secret works, or the secret works of those people who have been destroyed, may be made manifest unto this people; yea, all their murders, and robbings, and their plunderings, and all their wickedness and abominations, may be made manifest unto this people; yea, and that ye preserve these interpreters.

    כִּיkiforהִנֵּהhin/NEbeholdרָאָהra/AsawיְהוָהAdonaiAdonaiכִּיkithatהֵחֵלhe/CHELbeganעַמּוֹam/MOhis peopleלַעֲשׂוֹתla/a/SOTto workבַּחֹשֶׁךְba/CHO/shekhin darknessאַףafyeaלַעֲשׂוֹתla/a/SOTto workדְּמֵיde/MEmurdersסֵתֶרSE/terof secretוְתוֹעֵבוֹתve/to/e/VOTand abominationsלָכֵןla/KHENthereforeאָמַרa/MARsaidיְהוָהAdonaiAdonaiאִם־לֹאim-loif notיָשׁוּבוּya/SHU/vuthey repentedיִשָּׁמְדוּyish/sha/me/DUthey should be destroyedמֵעַלme/ALfrom offפְּנֵיpe/NEthe faceהָאֲדָמָה׃ha/a/da/MAof the earth

    For behold, the Lord saw that his people began to work in darkness, yea, work secret murders and abominations; therefore the Lord said, if they did not repent they should be destroyed from off the face of the earth.

23. 23

    וַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand saidיְהוָהAdonaiAdonaiאָכִיןa/KHINI will prepareלְעַבְדִּיle/av/DIunto my servantגָזֶלֶםGa/ZE/lemGazelemאֶבֶןE/vena stoneאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhichתָּאִירta/IRshall shine forthבַּחֹשֶׁךְba/CHO/shekhin darknessלְאוֹרle/ORunto lightלְמַעַןle/MA/anthatאֲגַלֶּהa/gal/LEI may discoverלְעַמִּיle/am/MIunto my peopleהָעֹבְדִיםha/ov/DIMwho serveאוֹתִיo/TImeלְמַעַןle/MA/anthatאֲגַלֶּהa/gal/LEI may discoverלָהֶםla/HEMunto themאֶת־מַעֲשֵׂיet-ma/a/SEthe worksאֲחֵיהֶםa/che/HEMof their brethrenאַףafyeaמַעֲשֵׂיma/a/SEthe worksסִתְרָםsit/RAMof their secretמַעֲשֵׂיma/a/SEthe worksהַחֹשֶׁךְha/CHO/shekhof darknessוְרִשְׁעָתָםve/rish/a/TAMand their wickednessוְתוֹעֲבוֹתֵיהֶם׃ve/to/a/vo/te/HEMand abominations

    And the Lord said: I will prepare unto my servant Gazelem, a stone, which shall shine forth in darkness unto light, that I may discover unto my people who serve me, that I may discover unto them the works of their brethren, yea, their secret works, their works of darkness, and their wickedness and abominations.

24. 24

    וְעַתָּהve/at/TAand nowבְּנִיbe/NImy sonהוּכְנוּhukh/NUwere preparedהָאוּרִיםha/u/RIMthe interpretersהָאֵלֶּהha/EL/letheseלְמַעַןle/MA/anthatיִמָּלֵאyim/MA/lemight be fulfilledדְּבַר־אֱלֹהִיםde/VAR-e/lo/HIMthe word of Godאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhichדִּבֶּרdib/BERhe spokeלֵאמֹר׃le/MORsaying

    And now, my son, these interpreters were prepared that the word of God might be fulfilled, which he spake, saying:

25. 25

    אוֹצִיאo/TSII will bring forthמֵחֹשֶׁךְme/CHO/shekhout of darknessלְאוֹרle/ORunto lightאֶת־כׇּל־מַעֲשֵׂיet-kol-ma/a/SEall the worksסִתְרָםsit/RAMof their secretוְתוֹעֲבוֹתֵיהֶםve/to/a/vo/te/HEMand abominationsוְאִם־לֹאve/IM-loand if notיָשׁוּבוּya/SHU/vuthey repentאַשְׁמִידֵםash/mi/DEMI will destroy themמֵעַלme/ALfrom offפְּנֵיpe/NEthe faceהָאֲדָמָהha/a/da/MAof the earthוְאָבִיאve/a/VIand I will bringלָאוֹרla/ORto lightאֶת־כׇּלet-kolallנִסְתְּרוֹתֵיהֶםnis/te/ro/te/HEMtheir secretsוְתוֹעֲבוֹתֵיהֶםve/to/a/vo/te/HEMand abominationsלְכׇלle/KHOLunto everyגּוֹיgoynationאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthatיִירַשׁYI/rashshall possessאֶת־הָאָרֶץet-ha/A/retsthe landאַחֲרֵי־כֵן׃a/cha/RE-khenhereafter

    I will bring forth out of darkness unto light all their secret works and their abominations; and except they repent I will destroy them from off the face of the earth; and I will bring to light all their secrets and abominations, unto every nation that shall hereafter possess the land.

26. 26

    וְעַתָּהve/at/TAand nowבְּנִיbe/NImy sonרוֹאִיםro/IMseeאֲנַחְנוּa/NACH/nuweכִּי־לֹאki-lothat notשָׁבוּSHA/vuthey repentedלָכֵןla/KHENthereforeנִשְׁמְדוּnish/me/DUthey have been destroyedוְעַדve/ADand thusכֹּהkofarנִמְלָאnim/LAhas been fulfilledדְּבַר־אֱלֹהִיםde/VAR-e/lo/HIMthe word of Godאַףafyeaתּוֹעֲבוֹתto/a/VOTthe abominationsסִתְרָםsit/RAMof their secretהוּצְאוּhuts/Uhave been broughtמֵחֹשֶׁךְme/CHO/shekhout of darknessוְנוֹדְעוּve/nod/Uand made knownלָנוּ׃LA/nuunto us

    And now, my son, we see that they did not repent; therefore they have been destroyed, and thus far the word of God has been fulfilled; yea, their secret abominations have been brought out of darkness and made known unto us.

27. 27

    וְעַתָּהve/at/TAand nowבְּנִיbe/NImy sonמְצַוֶּהme/tsav/VEcommandאֲנִיa/NIIאוֹתְךָot/KHAyouלִשְׁמֹרlish/MORto keepאֶת־כׇּלet-kolallשְׁבוּעוֹתֵיהֶםshe/vu/o/te/HEMtheir oathsוּבְרִיתוֹתֵיהֶםu/ve/ri/to/te/HEMand their covenantsוַעֲרֻבּוֹתֵיהֶםva/a/rub/bo/te/HEMand their agreementsבְּתוֹעֲבוֹתbe/to/a/VOTin the abominationsסִתְרָםsit/RAMof their secretהֵןhenyeaוְכׇלve/KHOLand allאוֹתוֹתֵיהֶםo/to/te/HEMtheir signsוּמוֹפְתֵיהֶםu/mof/te/HEMand their wondersתַּסְתִּירtas/TIRyou shall hideמִן־הָעָםmin-ha/AMfrom the peopleהַזֶּהhaz/ZEthisלְבִלְתִּיle/vil/TIthat notיֵדְעוּםyed/UMthey know themפֶּן־יִפְּלוּpen-yip/pe/LUlest they should fallגַּם־הֵםgam-hemthey alsoבַּחֹשֶׁךְba/CHO/shekhinto darknessוְיִשָּׁמֵדוּ׃ve/yish/sha/me/DUand be destroyed

    And now, my son, I command you that ye retain all their oaths, and their covenants, and their agreements in their secret abominations; yea, and all their signs and their wonders ye shall keep from this people, that they know them not, lest peradventure they should fall into darkness also and be destroyed.

28. 28

    כִּיkiforהִנֵּהhin/NEbeholdקְלָלָהke/la/LAthere is a curseעַלaluponכׇּלkolallהָאָרֶץha/A/retsthe landהַזֹּאתhaz/ZOTthisכִּיkithatיָבוֹאya/VOshall comeשֶׁבֶרSHE/verdestructionעַלaluponכׇּלkolallפֹּעֲלֵיPO/a/lethose workersהַחֹשֶׁךְha/CHO/shekhof darknessכְּפִיke/FIaccording toגְּבוּרַתge/vu/RATthe powerאֱלֹהִיםe/lo/HIMof Godכַּאֲשֶׁרka/a/SHERwhenיִבְשְׁלוּyiv/she/LUthey are ripeלָכֵןla/KHENthereforeחָפַצְתִּיcha/FATS/tiI desireכִּי־לֹאki-lothat notיִשָּׁמֵדyish/sha/MEDmay be destroyedהָעָםha/AMthe peopleהַזֶּה׃haz/ZEthis

    For behold, there is a curse upon all this land, that destruction shall come upon all those workers of darkness, according to the power of God, when they are fully ripe; therefore I desire that this people might not be destroyed.

29. 29

    לָכֵןla/KHENthereforeתַּסְתִּירtas/TIRyou shall hideאֶת־מְזִמּוֹתet-me/zim/MOTthe plansסִתְרָםsit/RAMof their secretשְׁבוּעוֹתֵיהֶםshe/vu/o/te/HEMtheir oathsוּבְרִיתוֹתֵיהֶםu/ve/ri/to/te/HEMand their covenantsמִן־הָעָםmin-ha/AMfrom the peopleהַזֶּהhaz/ZEthisוְרַקve/RAKand onlyאֶת־רִשְׁעָתָםet-rish/a/TAMtheir wickednessוּדְמֵיהֶםu/de/me/HEMand their murdersוְתוֹעֲבוֹתֵיהֶםve/to/a/vo/te/HEMand their abominationsתּוֹדִיעַto/DI/ashall you make knownלָהֶםla/HEMunto themוְלִמַּדְתָּםve/lim/mad/TAMand you shall teach themלְתַעֵבle/ta/EVto abhorרִשְׁעָהrish/Awickednessוְתוֹעֵבוֹתve/to/e/VOTand abominationsוְדָמִיםve/da/MIMand murdersכָּאֵלֶּהka/EL/lesuch as theseוְגַםve/GAMand alsoתְּלַמְּדֵםte/lam/me/DEMyou shall teach themכִּיkithatנִשְׁמַדnish/MADwere destroyedהָעָם־הַזֶּהha/AM-haz/ZEthis peopleבַּעֲבוּרba/a/VURon account ofרִשְׁעָתָםrish/a/TAMtheir wickednessוְתוֹעֲבוֹתֵיהֶםve/to/a/vo/te/HEMand abominationsוּדְמֵיהֶם׃u/de/me/HEMand their murders

    Therefore ye shall keep these secret plans of their oaths and their covenants from this people, and only their wickedness and their murders and their abominations shall ye make known unto them; and ye shall teach them to abhor such wickedness and abominations and murders; and ye shall also teach them that these people were destroyed on account of their wickedness and abominations and their murders.

30. 30

    כִּיkiforהִנֵּהhin/NEbeholdרָצְחוּra/tse/CHUthey murderedאֶת־כׇּלet-kolallנְבִיאֵיne/vi/Ethe prophetsיְהוָהAdonaiof Adonaiאֲשֶׁר־בָּאוּa/SHER-BA/uwho cameאֲלֵיהֶםa/le/HEMunto themלְהַגִּידle/hag/GIDto declareלָהֶםla/HEMunto themעַלalconcerningעֲוֹנוֹתֵיהֶםa/vo/no/te/HEMtheir iniquitiesוְדַםve/DAMand the bloodהַנִּרְצָחִיםhan/nir/tsa/CHIMof those whom they murderedצָעַקtsa/AKcriedאֶל־יְהוָהel-Adonaiunto Adonaiאֱלֹהֵיהֶםe/lo/he/HEMtheir Godלִנְקֹםlin/KOMto take vengeanceמֵרוֹצְחֵיהֶםme/rots/che/HEMupon their murderersוְכֵןve/KHENand thusבָּאוּBA/ucameמִשְׁפְּטֵיmish/pe/TEthe judgmentsאֱלֹהִיםe/lo/HIMof GodעַלaluponפֹּעֲלֵיPO/a/lethe workersהַחֹשֶׁךְha/CHO/shekhof darknessוְעַלve/ALand uponקִשְׁרֵיkish/REthe combinationsהַסֵּתֶרhas/SE/terof secretהָאֵלֶּה׃ha/EL/lethese

    For behold, they murdered all the prophets of the Lord who came among them to declare unto them concerning their iniquities; and the blood of those whom they murdered did cry unto the Lord their God for vengeance upon those who were their murderers; and thus the judgments of God did come upon these workers of darkness and secret combinations.

31. 31

    הֵןhenyeaוַאֲרוּרָהva/a/ru/RAand cursedתִּהְיֶהtih/YEbeהָאָרֶץha/A/retsthe landלְעוֹלָםle/o/LAMforeverוָעֶדva/EDand everלְפֹעֲלֵיle/FO/a/leunto the workersהַחֹשֶׁךְha/CHO/shekhof darknessוּלְקִשְׁרֵיu/le/kish/REand the combinationsהַסֵּתֶרhas/SE/terof secretעַד־לְהַשְׁמִידad-le/hash/MIDeven unto destructionאִם־לֹאim-loif notיָשׁוּבוּya/SHU/vuthey repentבְּטֶרֶםbe/TE/rembeforeיִבְשְׁלוּ׃yiv/she/LUthey are ripe

    Yea, and cursed be the land forever and ever unto those workers of darkness and secret combinations, even unto destruction, except they repent before they are fully ripe.

32. 32

    וְעַתָּהve/at/TAand nowבְּנִיbe/NImy sonזְכֹרze/KHORrememberאֶת־הַדְּבָרִיםet-had/de/va/RIMthe wordsאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhichדִּבַּרְתִּיdib/BAR/tiI spokeאֵלֶיךָe/LE/khaunto youאַלaldo notתַּפְקִידtaf/KIDentrustמְזִמּוֹתme/zim/MOTthe plansהַסֵּתֶרhas/SE/tersecretהָאֵלֶּהha/EL/lethoseבְּיַדbe/YADinto the handהָעָם־הַזֶּהha/AM-haz/ZEof this peopleאַךְakhbutלַמְּדֵםlam/me/DEMteach themשִׂנְאַתsin/ATan hatredעוֹלָםo/LAMeverlastingלַחֵטְאla/CHETagainst sinוְלֶעָוֹן׃ve/le/a/VONand iniquity

    And now, my son, remember the words which I have spoken unto you; trust not those secret plans unto this people, but teach them an everlasting hatred against sin and iniquity.

33. 33

    קְרָאke/RApreachלָהֶםla/HEMunto themלָשׁוּבla/SHUVrepentanceוֶאֱמוּנָהve/e/mu/NAand faithבַּאֲדוֹןba/a/DONon the LordיֵשׁוּעַYe/SHU/aJesusהַמָּשִׁיחַHam/ma/SHI/achChristלַמְּדֵםlam/me/DEMteach themלְהִכָּנַעle/hik/ka/NAto humble themselvesוְלִהְיוֹתve/lih/YOTand to beעֲנָוִיםa/na/VIMmeekוּשְׁפָלֵיu/she/fa/LEand lowlyלֵבlevof heartלַמְּדֵםlam/me/DEMteach themלַעֲמֹדla/a/MODto withstandבִּפְנֵיbif/NEagainstכׇּלkoleveryנִסָּיוֹןnis/sa/YONtemptationהַשָּׂטָןhas/sa/TANof the devilבֶּאֱמוּנָתָםbe/e/mu/na/TAMwith their faithבַּאֲדוֹןba/a/DONon the LordיֵשׁוּעַYe/SHU/aJesusהַמָּשִׁיחַ׃Ham/ma/SHI/achChrist

    Preach unto them repentance, and faith on the Lord Jesus Christ; teach them to humble themselves and to be meek and lowly in heart; teach them to withstand every temptation of the devil, with their faith on the Lord Jesus Christ.

34. 34

    לַמְּדֵםlam/me/DEMteach themלְבִלְתִּיle/vil/TInot toיִיעֲפוּyi/a/FUbe wearyבְּמַעֲשִׂיםbe/ma/a/SIMof worksטוֹבִיםto/VIMgoodאַךְakhbutלִהְיוֹתlih/YOTto beעֲנָוִיםa/na/VIMmeekוּשְׁפָלֵיu/she/fa/LEand lowlyלֵבlevof heartכִּי־אֵלֶּהki-EL/lefor suchיִמְצְאוּyim/tse/Ushall findמְנוּחָהme/nu/CHArestלְנַפְשָׁם׃le/naf/SHAMto their souls

    Teach them to never be weary of good works, but to be meek and lowly in heart; for such shall find rest to their souls.

35. 35

    הוֹיhoyOזְכֹרze/KHORrememberבְּנִיbe/NImy sonוּלְמַדu/le/MADand learnחׇכְמָהchokh/MAwisdomבִּנְעוּרֶיךָbin/u/RE/khain your youthאַףafyeaלְמַדle/MADlearnבִּנְעוּרֶיךָbin/u/RE/khain your youthלִשְׁמֹרlish/MORto keepאֶת־מִצְוֹתet-mits/VOTthe commandmentsאֱלֹהִים׃e/lo/HIMof God

    O, remember, my son, and learn wisdom in thy youth; yea, learn in thy youth to keep the commandments of God.

36. 36

    הֵןhenyeaוּזְעַקu/ze/AKand cryאֶל־אֱלֹהִיםel-e/lo/HIMunto Godלְכׇלle/KHOLfor allמִשְׁעַנְךָmish/an/KHAyour supportאַףafyeaיִהְיוּyih/YUlet beכׇלkholallמַעֲשֶׂיךָma/a/SE/khayour doingsלַיהוָהla-Adonaiunto Adonaiוּבְכׇלu/ve/KHOLand in everyאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhithersoeverתֵּלֵךְte/LEKHyou goיְהִיye/HIlet it beבַּיהוָהba-Adonaiin Adonaiאַףafyeaיִכֹּנוּyik/KO/nulet be directedכׇלkholallמַחְשְׁבוֹתֶיךָmach/she/vo/te/KHAyour thoughtsאֶל־יְהוָהel-Adonaiunto Adonaiאַףafyeaיִשְׁכְּנוּyish/ke/NUlet be placedאַהֲבוֹתa/ha/VOTthe affectionsלְבָבְךָle/va/ve/KHAof your heartבַּיהוָהba-Adonaiupon Adonaiלְעוֹלָם׃le/o/LAMforever

    Yea, and cry unto God for all thy support; yea, let all thy doings be unto the Lord, and whithersoever thou goest let it be in the Lord; yea, let all thy thoughts be directed unto the Lord; yea, let the affections of thy heart be placed upon the Lord forever.

    הִוָּעֵץhiv/va/ETScounselבַּיהוָהba-Adonaiwith Adonaiבְּכׇלbe/KHOLin allמַעֲשֶׂיךָma/a/SE/khayour doingsוְהוּאve/HUand heיַנְחֲךָyan/cha/KHAwill direct youלְטוֹבle/TOVfor goodאַףafyeaבְּשׇׁכְבְּךָbe/shokh/be/KHAwhen you lie downבַּלַּיְלָהbal/LAY/laat nightשְׁכַבshe/KHAVlie downלַיהוָהla-Adonaiunto Adonaiלְמַעַןle/MA/anthatיִשְׁמֹרyish/MORhe may watchעָלֶיךָa/LE/khaover youבִּשְׁנָתֶךָbish/na/TE/khain your sleepוּבְקוּמְךָu/ve/kum/KHAand when you riseבַּבֹּקֶרbab/BO/kerin the morningיִמָּלֵאyim/MA/lelet be fullלִבְּךָlib/be/KHAyour heartתּוֹדָהto/DAof thanksלֵאלֹהִיםle/lo/HIMunto Godוְאִםve/IMand ifתַּעֲשֶׂהta/a/SEyou doאֵלֶּהEL/lethese thingsתִּנָּשֵׂאtin/na/SEyou shall be lifted upבַּיּוֹםbay/YOMat the dayהָאַחֲרוֹן׃ha/a/cha/RONthe last

    Counsel with the Lord in all thy doings, and he will direct thee for good; yea, when thou liest down at night lie down unto the Lord, that he may watch over you in your sleep; and when thou risest in the morning let thy heart be full of thanks unto God; and if ye do these things, ye shall be lifted up at the last day.

    וְעַתָּהve/at/TAand nowבְּנִיbe/NImy sonיֶשׁ־לִיyesh-liI haveדָּבָרda/VARsomewhatלֵאמֹרle/MORto sayעַל־הַדָּבָרal-had/da/VARconcerning the thingאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhichקָרְאוּka/re/Ucalledלוֹloitאֲבוֹתֵינוּa/vo/TE/nuour fathersכַּדּוּרkad/DURa ballאוֹoorמַדְרִיךְmad/RIKHdirectorאוֹoorקָרְאוּka/re/Ucalledלוֹloitאֲבוֹתֵינוּa/vo/TE/nuour fathersלִיאַהוֹנָהLi/a/HO/naLiahonaאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhichפֵּרוּשׁוֹpe/ru/SHObeing interpreted isמַצְפֵּןmats/PENa compassוַיהוָהve-Adonaiand Adonaiהֲכִינוֹ׃ha/khi/NOprepared it

    And now, my son, I have somewhat to say concerning the thing which our fathers call a ball, or director—or our fathers called it Liahona, which is, being interpreted, a compass; and the Lord prepared it.

39. 39

    וְהִנֵּהve/hin/NEand beholdלֹא־יוּכַלlo-yu/KHALcannotאִישׁishany manלַעֲשׂוֹתla/a/SOTworkמְלֶאכֶתme/LE/khetworkmanshipמַחֲשֶׁבֶתma/cha/SHE/vetof curiousכָּזֹאתka/ZOTsuchוְהִנֵּהve/hin/NEand beholdהוּכַןhu/KHANit was preparedלְהַרְאוֹתle/har/OTto showלַאֲבוֹתֵינוּla/a/vo/TE/nuunto our fathersאֶת־הַדֶּרֶךְet-had/DE/rekhthe courseאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhichיֵלְכוּyel/KHUthey should travelבָהּvain itבַּמִּדְבָּר׃bam/mid/BARin the wilderness

    And behold, there cannot any man work after the manner of so curious a workmanship. And behold, it was prepared to show unto our fathers the course which they should travel in the wilderness.

40. 40

    וַיַּעַשׂvay/YA/asand it wroughtלָהֶםla/HEMfor themכְּפִיke/FIaccording toאֱמוּנָתָםe/mu/na/TAMtheir faithבֵּאלֹהִיםbe/lo/HIMin Godלָכֵןla/KHENthereforeאִםimifהָיְתָהha/ye/TAthere wasלָהֶםla/HEMunto themאֱמוּנָהe/mu/NAfaithלְהַאֲמִיןle/ha/a/MINto believeכִּיkithatיוּכַלyu/KHALcouldאֱלֹהִיםe/lo/HIMGodלַעֲשׂוֹתla/a/SOTcauseכִּיkithatיוֹרוּyo/RUshould pointהַמְּחוֹגִיםham/me/cho/GIMthe spindlesאֶת־הַדֶּרֶךְet-had/DE/rekhthe wayאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhichיֵלְכוּyel/KHUthey should goהִנֵּהhin/NEbeholdנַעֲשָׂהna/a/SAit was doneלָכֵןla/KHENthereforeהָיָהha/YAthere wasלָהֶםla/HEMunto themהַמּוֹפֵתham/mo/FETthe miracleהַזֶּהhaz/ZEthisוְגַםve/GAMand alsoמוֹפְתִיםmof/TIMmiraclesרַבִּיםrab/BIMmanyאֲחֵרִיםa/che/RIMotherנַעֲשׂוּna/a/SUwere wroughtבִּגְבוּרַתbig/vu/RATby the powerאֱלֹהִיםe/lo/HIMof Godיוֹםyomdayיוֹם׃yomby day

    And it did work for them according to their faith in God; therefore, if they had faith to believe that God could cause that those spindles should point the way they should go, behold, it was done; therefore they had this miracle, and also many other miracles wrought by the power of God, day by day.

41. 41

    וְאוּלָםve/u/LAMneverthelessיַעַןYA/anbecauseנַעֲשׂוּna/a/SUwere wroughtהַמּוֹפְתִיםham/mof/TIMthe miraclesהָאֵלֶּהha/EL/letheseבִּדְבָרִיםbid/va/RIMby meansקְטַנִּיםke/tan/NIMsmallהֶרְאָהher/Ait showedלָהֶםla/HEMthemמַעֲשִׂיםma/a/SIMworksנִפְלָאִיםnif/la/IMmarvelousאַךְakhbutהֵמָּהHEM/matheyהִתְעַצְּלוּhit/ats/tse/LUwere slothfulוַיִּשְׁכְּחוּvay/yish/ke/CHUand forgotלַעֲשׂוֹתla/a/SOTto exerciseבֶּאֱמוּנָתָםbe/e/mu/na/TAMtheir faithוּבַחֲרִיצוּתָםu/va/cha/ri/tsu/TAMand their diligenceוְאָזve/AZand thenחָדְלוּcha/de/LUceasedהַמַּעֲשִׂיםham/ma/a/SIMthe worksהַנִּפְלָאִיםhan/nif/la/IMmarvelousוְלֹאve/LOand notהוֹסִיפוּho/si/FUdid they continueלֶכֶתLE/khetto goבְּמַסָּעָם׃be/mas/sa/AMin their journey

    Nevertheless, because those miracles were worked by small means it did show unto them marvelous works. They were slothful, and forgot to exercise their faith and diligence and then those marvelous works ceased, and they did not progress in their journey;

42. 42

    לָכֵןla/KHENthereforeהִתְמַהְמְהוּhit/mah/me/HUthey tarriedבַמִּדְבָּרvam/mid/BARin the wildernessאוֹoorלֹאlonotנָסְעוּna/se/Udid they travelבְּדֶרֶךְbe/DE/rekha courseיְשָׁרָהye/sha/RAdirectוַיְעֻנּוּvay/un/NUand were afflictedבְּרָעָבbe/ra/AVwith hungerוּבְצָמָאu/ve/tsa/MAand thirstבַּעֲבוּרba/a/VURbecause ofפִּשְׁעֵיהֶם׃pish/e/HEMtheir transgressions

    Therefore, they tarried in the wilderness, or did not travel a direct course, and were afflicted with hunger and thirst, because of their transgressions.

43. 43

    וְעַתָּהve/at/TAand nowבְּנִיbe/NImy sonחָפַצְתִּיcha/FATS/tiI wouldכִּיkithatתָבִיןta/VINyou should understandכִּיkithatהַדְּבָרִיםhad/de/va/RIMthe thingsהָאֵלֶּהha/EL/letheseלֹאloare notבְּלִיbe/LIwithoutמָשָׁלma/SHALa typeכִּיkiforכַאֲשֶׁרkha/a/SHERasרָפוּra/FUwere slothfulאֲבוֹתֵינוּa/vo/TE/nuour fathersמִלָּשִׂיםmil/la/SIMin givingלֵבlevheedאֶלeltoהַמַּצְפֵּןham/mats/PENthe compassהַהוּאha/HUthatוְהֵמָּהve/HEM/maand they wereמִן־הָעוֹלָםmin-ha/o/LAMof the worldהַזֶּהhaz/ZEthisלֹאlonotצָלְחָהtsa/le/CHAprosperedלָהֶםla/HEMunto themדַּרְכָּםdar/KAMtheir wayוְכֵןve/KHENeven soבְּדִבְרֵיbe/div/REwith the thingsהָרוּחַ׃ha/RU/achof the spirit

    And now, my son, I would that ye should understand that these things are not without a shadow; for as our fathers were slothful to give heed to this compass (now these things were temporal) they did not prosper; even so it is with things which are spiritual.

44. 44

    כִּיkiforהִנֵּהhin/NEbeholdקַלkalit is easyלָשִׂיםla/SIMto giveלֵבlevheedלִדְבַרlid/VARto the wordהַמָּשִׁיחַham/Ma/SHI/achof Christאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhichיוֹרֶהyo/REwill pointלְךָle/KHAunto youדֶּרֶךְDE/rekha courseיְשָׁרָהye/sha/RAstraightלְאֹשֶׁרle/O/sherto blissעוֹלָםo/LAMeternalכַּאֲשֶׁרka/a/SHERasהָיָהha/YAit wasקַלkaleasyלַאֲבוֹתֵינוּla/a/vo/TE/nufor our fathersלָשִׂיםla/SIMto giveלֵבlevheedלַמַּצְפֵּןlam/mats/PENto the compassהַזֶּהhaz/ZEthisאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhichהוֹרָהho/RAwould point outלָהֶםla/HEMunto themדֶּרֶךְDE/rekha courseיְשָׁרָהye/sha/RAstraightלְאֶרֶץle/E/retsto the landהַהַבְטָחָה׃ha/hav/ta/CHAof promise

    For behold, it is as easy to give heed to the word of Christ, which will point to you a straight course to eternal bliss, as it was for our fathers to give heed to this compass, which would point unto them a straight course to the promised land.

45. 45

    וְעַתָּהve/at/TAand nowאֹמַרo/MARI sayהֲלֹאha/LOis there notמָשָׁלma/SHALa typeבַּדָּבָרbad/da/VARin the thingהַזֶּהhaz/ZEthisכִּיkiforכַּאֲשֶׁרka/a/SHERasהֵבִיאhe/VIbroughtהַמַּדְרִיךְham/mad/RIKHthe directorהַזֶּהhaz/ZEthisאֶת־אֲבוֹתֵינוּet-a/vo/TE/nuour fathersבְּלֶכְתָּםbe/lekh/TAMin their goingאַחֲרָיוa/cha/RAYVafter itאֶל־אֶרֶץel-E/retsto the landהַהַבְטָחָהha/hav/ta/CHAof promiseכֵּןkensoיִשְׂאוּyis/Ushall carryדִּבְרֵיdiv/REthe wordsהַמָּשִׁיחַham/Ma/SHI/achof Christאִםimifנֵלֵךְne/LEKHwe goאַחֲרֵיהֶםa/cha/re/HEMafter themאוֹתָנוּo/TA/nuusמֵעֵבֶרme/E/verbeyondלְעֵמֶקle/E/mekthe valeהַבָּכָאhab/ba/KHAof weepingהַזֶּהhaz/ZEthisאֶל־אֶרֶץel-E/retsinto a landהַבְטָחָהhav/ta/CHAof promiseטוֹבָהto/VAbetterמְאֹד׃me/ODfar

    And now I say, is there not a type in this thing? For just as surely as this director did bring our fathers, by following its course, to the promised land, shall the words of Christ, if we follow their course, carry us beyond this vale of sorrow into a far better land of promise.

46. 46

    הוֹיhoyOבְּנִיbe/NImy sonאַל־נָאal-nalet us notנִתְעַצֵּלnit/ats/TSELbe slothfulבַּעֲבוּרba/a/VURbecause ofקַלּוּתkal/LUTthe easinessהַדֶּרֶךְhad/DE/rekhof the wayכִּי־כֵןki-khenfor soהָיָהha/YAwasלַאֲבוֹתֵינוּla/a/vo/TE/nuwith our fathersכִּי־כֵןki-khenfor soהוּכַןhu/KHANwas it preparedלָהֶםla/HEMfor themכִּי־אִםki-imthat ifיַבִּיטוּyab/BI/tuthey would lookיִחְיוּyich/YUthey might liveוְכֵןve/KHENeven soהוּאhuit isלָנוּLA/nuwith usהַדֶּרֶךְhad/DE/rekhthe wayמוּכָנָהmu/kha/NAis preparedוְאִםve/IMand ifנַבִּיטnab/BITwe will lookנִחְיֶהnich/YEwe may liveלְעוֹלָם׃le/o/LAMforever

    O my son, do not let us be slothful because of the easiness of the way; for so was it with our fathers; for so was it prepared for them, that if they would look they might live; even so it is with us. The way is prepared, and if we will look we may live forever.

47. 47

    וְעַתָּהve/at/TAand nowבְּנִיbe/NImy sonרְאֵהre/Eseeכִּיkithatתִשְׁמֹרtish/MORyou take careאֶת־הַדְּבָרִיםet-had/de/va/RIMof the thingsהַקְּדוֹשִׁיםhak/ke/do/SHIMthe sacredהָאֵלֶּהha/EL/letheseאַףafyeaרְאֵהre/Eseeכִּיkithatתַבִּיטtab/BITyou lookאֶל־אֱלֹהִיםel-e/lo/HIMto Godוֶחְיֵהvech/YEand liveלֵךְlekhgoאֶל־הָעָםel-ha/AMunto the peopleהַזֶּהhaz/ZEthisוְהַגֵּדve/hag/GEDand declareאֶת־הַדָּבָרet-had/da/VARthe wordוֶהְיֵהveh/YEand beנָבוֹןna/VONsoberבְּנִיbe/NImy sonשָׁלוֹם׃sha/LOMfarewell

    And now, my son, see that ye take care of these sacred things, yea, see that ye look to God and live. Go unto this people and declare the word, and be sober. My son, farewell.
