   שִׁמְעוּshim/Uhearkenאֵלַיe/LAYto meרֹדְפֵיROD/fethose who follow afterצֶדֶקTSE/dekrighteousnessהַבִּיטוּhab/BI/tulookאֶל־צוּרel-tsurto the rockחֻצַּבְתֶּםchuts/tsav/TEMyou were hewnוְאֶל־מַקֶּבֶתve/EL-mak/KE/vetand to the holeבּוֹרborof the pitנֻקַּרְתֶּם׃nuk/kar/TEMyou were digged

   Hearken unto me, ye that follow after righteousness. Look unto the rock from whence ye are hewn, and to the hole of the pit from whence ye are digged.

   הַבִּיטוּhab/BI/tulookאֶל־אַבְרָהָםel-Av/ra/HAMto Abrahamאֲבִיכֶםa/vi/KHEMyour fatherוְאֶל־שָׂרָהve/EL-sa/RAand to Sarahתְּחוֹלֶלְכֶםte/cho/lel/KHEMwho bore youכִּי־אֶחָדki-e/CHADfor aloneקְרָאתִיוke/ra/TIVI called himוַאֲבָרְכֵהוּ׃va/a/va/re/KHE/huand blessed him

   Look unto Abraham, your father, and unto Sarah, she that bare you; for I called him alone, and blessed him.

   כִּי־נִחַםki-ni/CHAMfor shall comfortיְהֹוָהAdonaiAdonaiצִיּוֹןTsiy/YONZionנִחַםni/CHAMhe will comfortכׇּל־חׇרְבֹתֶיהָkol-chor/vo/TE/haall her waste placesוַיָּשֶׂםvay/YA/semand he will makeמִדְבָּרָהּmid/ba/RAher wildernessכְּעֵדֶןke/E/denlike Edenוְעַרְבָתָהּve/ar/va/TAand her desertכְּגַן־יְהֹוָהke/GAN-Adonailike the garden of Adonaiשָׂשׂוֹןsa/SONjoyוְשִׂמְחָהve/sim/CHAand gladnessיִמָּצֵאyim/ma/TSEshall be foundבָהּvain itתּוֹדָהto/DAthanksgivingוְקוֹלve/KOLand the voiceזִמְרָה׃zim/RAof melody

   For the Lord shall comfort Zion, he will comfort all her waste places; and he will make her wilderness like Eden, and her desert like the garden of the Lord. Joy and gladness shall be found therein, thanksgiving and the voice of melody.

   Hearken unto me, my people; and give ear unto me, O my nation; for a law shall proceed from me, and I will make my judgment to rest for a light for the people.

   My righteousness is near; my salvation is gone forth, and mine arm shall judge the people. The isles shall wait upon me, and on mine arm shall they trust.

   Lift up your eyes to the heavens, and look upon the earth beneath; for the heavens shall vanish away like smoke, and the earth shall wax old like a garment; and they that dwell therein shall die in like manner. But my salvation shall be forever, and my righteousness shall not be abolished.

   Hearken unto me, ye that know righteousness, the people in whose heart I have written my law, fear ye not the reproach of men, neither be ye afraid of their revilings.

   כִּיkiforכַבֶּגֶדkhab/BE/gedlike a garmentיֹאכְלֵםyo/khe/LEMshall eat themעָשׁashthe mothוְכַצֶּמֶרve/khats/TSE/merand like woolיֹאכְלֵםyo/khe/LEMshall eat themסָסsasthe wormוְצִדְקָתִיve/tsid/ka/TIbut my righteousnessלְעוֹלָםle/o/LAMforeverתִּהְיֶהtih/YEshall beוִישׁוּעָתִיvi/shu/a/TIand my salvationלְדוֹרle/DORfrom generationדּוֹרִים׃do/RIMto generations

   For the moth shall eat them up like a garment, and the worm shall eat them like wool. But my righteousness shall be forever, and my salvation from generation to generation.

   עוּרִיu/RIawakeעוּרִיu/RIawakeלִבְשִׁי־עֹזliv/SHI-ozput on strengthזְרוֹעַze/RO/aO armיְהוָהAdonaiof Adonaiעוּרִיu/RIawakeכִּימֵיki/MEas in the daysקֶדֶםKE/demof oldהֲלוֹאha/LOare notאַתָּהat/TAyouהוּאhuheהַמַּחְצִיבham/mach/TSIVwho hewedרַהַבRA/havRahabמְחוֹלֵלme/cho/LELwoundedתַּנִּין׃tan/NINthe dragon

   Awake, awake! Put on strength, O arm of the Lord; awake as in the ancient days. Art thou not he that hath cut Rahab, and wounded the dragon?

10. 10

    הֲלוֹאha/LOare notאַתָּהat/TAyouהוּאhuheהַמַּחֲרִיבham/ma/cha/RIVwho driedיָםyamthe seaמֵיmethe watersתְהוֹםte/HOMof the deepרַבָּהrab/BAgreatהַשָּׂםhas/SAMwho madeמַעֲמַקֵּי־יָםma/a/mak/KE-yamthe depths of the seaדֶּרֶךְDE/rekha wayלַעֲבֹרla/a/VORto pass overגְּאוּלִים׃ge/u/LIMthe ransomed

    Art thou not he who hath dried the sea, the waters of the great deep; that hath made the depths of the sea a way for the ransomed to pass over?

11. 11

    וּפְדוּיֵיu/fe/du/YEtherefore the redeemedיְהוָהAdonaiof Adonaiיְשׁוּבוּןye/shu/VUNshall returnוּבָאוּu/VA/uand shall comeצִיּוֹןTsiy/YONto Zionבְּרִנָּהbe/rin/NAwith singingוְשִׂמְחַתve/sim/CHATand joyעוֹלָםo/LAMof everlastingוְקֹדֶשׁve/KO/deshand holinessעַל־רֹאשָׁםal-ro/SHAMupon their headsשָׂשׂוֹןsa/SONgladnessוְשִׂמְחָהve/sim/CHAand joyיַשִּׂיגוּןyas/si/GUNshall they obtainנָסוּNA/sushall fleeיָגוֹןya/GONsorrowוַאֲנָחָה׃va/a/na/CHAand mourning

    Therefore, the redeemed of the Lord shall return, and come with singing unto Zion; and everlasting joy and holiness shall be upon their heads; and they shall obtain gladness and joy; sorrow and mourning shall flee away.

12. 12

    אָנֹכִיa/no/KHII amהוּאhuheאַףafyeaאָנֹכִיa/no/KHII amהוּאhuheאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhoיְנַחֶמְכֶםye/na/chem/KHEMshall comfort youהִנֵּהhin/NEbeholdמִי־אַתְּmi-attwho are youכִּיkithatתִירְאִיti/re/Iyou should be afraidמֵאֱנוֹשׁme/e/NOSHof a mortal manיָמוּתya/MUTwho shall dieוּמִבֶּן־אָדָםu/mib/BEN-a/DAMand of the son of manכֶּחָצִירke/cha/TSIRas grassיִנָּתֵן׃yin/na/TENshall be made

    I am he; yea, I am he that comforteth you. Behold, who art thou, that thou shouldst be afraid of man, who shall die, and of the son of man, who shall be made like unto grass?

13. 13

    וַתִּשְׁכַּחvat/tish/KACHand forgetיְהוָהAdonaiAdonaiעֹשֶׂךָO/SE/khayour Makerנוֹטֶהno/TEthat stretched forthשָׁמַיִםsha/MA/yimthe heavensוְיֹסֵדve/yo/SEDand that laid the foundationsאָרֶץA/retsof the earthוַתְּפַחֵדvat/te/fa/CHEDand have fearedתָּמִידta/MIDcontinuallyכׇּל־הַיּוֹםkol-hay/YOMevery dayמִפְּנֵיmip/pe/NEbecause ofחֲמַתcha/MATthe furyהַמֵּצִיקham/me/TSIKof the oppressorכַּאֲשֶׁרka/a/SHERas ifכּוֹנֵןko/NENhe were readyלְהַשְׁחִיתle/hash/CHITto destroyוְאַיֵּהve/ay/YEand where isחֲמַתcha/MATthe furyהַמֵּצִיק׃ham/me/TSIKof the oppressor

    And forgettest the Lord thy maker, that hath stretched forth the heavens, and laid the foundations of the earth, and hast feared continually every day, because of the fury of the oppressor, as if he were ready to destroy? And where is the fury of the oppressor?

14. 14

    מִהַרmi/HARhastensצֹעֶהtso/Ethe captive exileלְהִפָּתֵחַle/hip/pa/TE/achto be loosedוְלֹאve/LOand notיָמוּתya/MUTshall he dieלַשַּׁחַתlash/SHA/chatin the pitוְלֹאve/LOand notיֶחְסַרyech/SARshall failלַחְמוֹ׃lach/MOhis bread

    The captive exile hasteneth, that he may be loosed, and that he should not die in the pit, nor that his bread should fail.

15. 15

    וְאָנֹכִיve/a/no/KHIbut I amיְהוָהAdonaiAdonaiאֱלֹהֶיךָe/lo/HE/khayour Godאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhoהָמוּha/MUroaredגַּלָּיוgal/LAYVits wavesיְהוָהAdonaiAdonaiצְבָאוֹתTse/va/OTof Hostsשְׁמִי׃she/MIis my name

    But I am the Lord thy God, whose waves roared; the Lord of Hosts is my name.

16. 16

    וָאָשִׂםva/a/SIMand I putדְּבָרַיde/va/RAYmy wordsבְּפִיךָbe/FI/khain your mouthוּבְצֵלu/ve/TSELand in the shadowיָדִיya/DIof my handכִּסִּיתִיךָkis/si/TI/khahave I covered youלִנְטֹעַlin/TO/ato plantשָׁמַיִםsha/MA/yimthe heavensוְלִיסֹדve/li/SODand to lay the foundationsאָרֶץA/retsof the earthוְלֵאמֹרve/le/MORand to sayלְצִיּוֹןle/Tsiy/YONto Zionעַמִּי־אָתָּה׃am/MI-AT/tayou are my people

    And I have put my words in thy mouth, and have covered thee in the shadow of mine hand, that I may plant the heavens and lay the foundations of the earth, and say unto Zion: Behold, thou art my people.

17. 17

    הִתְעוֹרְרִיhit/or/RIawakeהִתְעוֹרְרִיhit/or/RIawakeקוּמִיKU/mistand upיְרוּשָׁלַיִםYe/ru/sha/LA/yimO Jerusalemאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhichשָׁתִיתsha/TIThave drunkמִיַּדmiy/YADfrom the handיְהוָהAdonaiof Adonaiאֶת־כּוֹסet-kosthe cupחֲמָתוֹcha/ma/TOof his furyאֶת־קֻבַּעַתet-kub/BA/atthe dregsכּוֹסkosof the cupהַתַּרְעֵלָהhat/tar/e/LAof the tremblingשָׁתִיתsha/TITyou drankמָצִית׃ma/TSITwrung out

    Awake, awake, stand up, O Jerusalem, which hast drunk at the hand of the Lord the cup of his fury—thou hast drunken the dregs of the cup of trembling wrung out—

18. 18

    וְאֵיןve/ENand there is noneמְנַהֵלme/na/HELto guideלָהּlato herמִכׇּל־בָּנִיםmik/KOL-ba/NIMof all the sonsיָלָדָהya/LA/dashe boreוְאֵיןve/ENand there is noneמַחֲזִיקma/cha/ZIKto take holdבְּיָדָהּbe/ya/DAof her handמִכׇּל־בָּנִיםmik/KOL-ba/NIMof all the sonsגִּדֵּלָה׃gid/DE/lashe brought up

    And none to guide her among all the sons she hath brought forth; neither that taketh her by the hand, of all the sons she hath brought up.

19. 19

    בָּאוּBA/uare comeלָךְlakhto youשְׁנֵיshe/NEtwoבָנַיִךְva/NA/yikhyour sonsאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhoיָנוּדוּya/nu/DUshall be sorryלָךְlakhfor youהַשֹּׁדhash/SHODdesolationוְהַשֶּׁבֶרve/hash/SHE/verand destructionוְהָרָעָבve/ha/ra/AVand the famineוְהַחֶרֶבve/ha/CHE/revand the swordבְּמִיbe/MIby whomאֲנַחֲמֵךְ׃a/na/cha/MEKHshall I comfort you

    These two sons are come unto thee, who shall be sorry for thee—thy desolation and destruction, and the famine and the sword—and by whom shall I comfort thee?

20. 20

    עֻלְּפוּul/le/FUfaintedבָנַיִךְva/NA/yikhyour sonsזוּלָתִיzu/la/TIsaveשְׁנֵיshe/NEtwoאֵלֶּהEL/letheseשָׁכְבוּsha/khe/VUthey lieבְּרֹאשׁbe/ROSHat the headכׇּל־חוּצוֹתkol-chu/TSOTof all the streetsכְּתוֹאke/TOas a wild bullמִכְמָרmikh/MARin a netהַמְלֵאִיםham/le/IMthey are fullחֲמַתcha/MATof the furyיְהוָהAdonaiof Adonaiגַּעֲרַתga/a/RATthe rebukeאֱלֹהָיִךְ׃e/lo/HA/yikhof your God

    Thy sons have fainted, save these two; they lie at the head of all the streets; as a wild bull in a net, they are full of the fury of the Lord, the rebuke of thy God.

21. 21

    לָכֵןla/KHENthereforeשִׁמְעִי־נָאshim/I-nahear nowזֹאתzotthisעֲנִיָּהa/niy/YAyou afflictedוּשְׁכֻרַתu/she/khu/RATand drunkenוְלֹאve/LOand notמִיָּיִן׃miy/YA/yinfrom wine

    Therefore hear now this, thou afflicted, and drunken, and not with wine:

22. 22

    כֹּה־אָמַרko-a/MARthus saithאֲדֹנַיִךְa/do/NA/yikhyour LordיְהוָהAdonaiAdonaiוֵאלֹהַיִךְve/lo/HA/yikhand your Godיָרִיבya/RIVwho pleads the causeעַמּוֹam/MOof his peopleהִנֵּהhin/NEbeholdלָקַחְתִּיla/KACH/tiI tookמִיָּדֵךְmiy/ya/DEKHfrom your handאֶת־כּוֹסet-kosthe cupהַתַּרְעֵלָהhat/tar/e/LAof the tremblingאֶת־קֻבַּעַתet-kub/BA/atthe dregsכּוֹסkosof the cupחֲמָתִיcha/ma/TIof my furyלֹא־תוֹסִיפִיlo-to/SI/fishall no longerלִשְׁתּוֹתָהּlish/to/TAdrink itעוֹד׃odagain

    Thus saith thy Lord, the Lord and thy God pleadeth the cause of his people; behold, I have taken out of thine hand the cup of trembling, the dregs of the cup of my fury; thou shalt no more drink it again.

23. 23

    וְשַׂמְתִּיהָve/sam/TI/habut I will put itבְּיַד־מוֹגַיִךְbe/YAD-mo/GA/yikhinto the hand of those who afflict youאֲשֶׁר־אָמְרוּa/SHER-a/me/RUwho saidלְנַפְשֵׁךְle/naf/SHEKHto your soulשְׁחִיshe/CHIbow downוְנַעֲבֹרָהve/na/a/VO/rathat we may go overוַתָּשִׂימִיvat/ta/SI/miand you laidכָאָרֶץkha/A/retsas the groundגֵּוֵךְge/VEKHyour bodyוְכַחוּץve/kha/CHUTSand as the streetלַעֹבְרִים׃la/ov/RIMto those who passed over

    But I will put it into the hand of them that afflict thee; who have said to thy soul: Bow down, that we may go over—and thou hast laid thy body as the ground and as the street to them that went over.

    עוּרִיu/RIawakeעוּרִיu/RIawakeלִבְשִׁיliv/SHIput onעֻזֵּךְuz/ZEKHyour strengthצִיּוֹןTsiy/YONZionלִבְשִׁיliv/SHIput onבִּגְדֵיbig/DEgarmentsתִפְאַרְתֵּךְtif/ar/TEKHof your beautyיְרוּשָׁלַיִםYe/ru/sha/LA/yimJerusalemעִירirthe cityהַקֹּדֶשׁhak/KO/deshof the holyכִּיkiforלֹאlonoיוֹסִיףyo/SIFmoreיָבֹא־בָךְya/VO-vakhshall come into youעוֹדodhenceforthעָרֵלa/RELthe uncircumcisedוְטָמֵא׃ve/ta/MEand the unclean

    Awake, awake, put on thy strength, O Zion; put on thy beautiful garments, O Jerusalem, the holy city; for henceforth there shall no more come into thee the uncircumcised and the unclean.

    הִתְנַעֲרִיhit/na/a/RIshake yourselfמֵעָפָרme/a/FARfrom the dustקוּמִיKU/miariseשְּׁבִיshe/VIsit downיְרוּשָׁלַיִםYe/ru/sha/LA/yimO Jerusalemהִתְפַּתְּחִיhit/pat/te/CHIloose yourselfמוֹסְרֵיmos/REfrom the bandsצַוָּארֵךְtsav/va/REKHof your neckשְׁבִיָּהshe/viy/YAO captiveבַּת־צִיּוֹן׃bat-Tsiy/YONdaughter of Zion

    Shake thyself from the dust; arise, sit down, O Jerusalem; loose thyself from the bands of thy neck, O captive daughter of Zion.
