    And all the days of Enoch were four hundred and thirty years.

    And it came to pass that Methuselah, the son of Enoch, was not taken, that the covenants of the Lord might be fulfilled, which he made to Enoch; for he truly covenanted with Enoch that Noah should be of the fruit of his loins.

    And it came to pass that Methuselah prophesied that from his loins should spring all the kingdoms of the earth (through Noah), and he took glory unto himself.

    And there came forth a great famine into the land, and the Lord cursed the earth with a sore curse, and many of the inhabitants thereof died.

    And it came to pass that Methuselah lived one hundred and eighty-seven years, and begat Lamech;

    And all the days of Methuselah were nine hundred and sixty-nine years, and he died.

    וַיִּקְרָאvay/yik/RAand he calledאֶת־שְׁמוֹet-she/MOhis nameנֹחַNO/achNoahלֵאמֹרle/MORsayingהַבֵּןhab/BENsonהַזֶּהhaz/ZEthisיְנַחֲמֵנוּye/na/cha/ME/nushall comfort usמִמַּעֲשֵׂנוּmim/ma/a/SE/nuconcerning our workוּמֵעִצְּבוֹןu/me/its/tse/VONand toilיָדֵינוּya/DE/nuof our handsמִן־הָאֲדָמָהmin-ha/a/da/MAbecause of the groundאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhichאֵרְרָהּer/RAcursedיְהוָה׃Adonaithe Lord

    And he called his name Noah, saying: This son shall comfort us concerning our work and toil of our hands, because of the ground which the Lord hath cursed.

    And Lamech lived, after he begat Noah, five hundred and ninety-five years, and begat sons and daughters;

    And all the days of Lamech were seven hundred and seventy-seven years, and he died.

    And Noah was four hundred and fifty years old, and begat Japheth; and forty-two years afterward he begat Shem of her who was the mother of Japheth, and when he was five hundred years old he begat Ham.

    וַיִּשְׁמַעvay/yish/MAand hearkenedנֹחַNO/achNoahוּבָנָיוu/va/NAYVand his sonsבְּקוֹלbe/KOLunto the voiceיְהוָהAdonaiof the Lordוַיַּקְשִׁיבוּvay/yak/shi/VUand gave heedוַיִּקָּרְאוּvay/yik/ka/re/Uand they were calledבְנֵיve/NEthe sonsהָאֱלֹהִים׃ha/e/lo/HIMof God

    And Noah and his sons hearkened unto the Lord, and gave heed, and they were called the sons of God.

    וַיְהִיvay/HIand it happenedכַּאֲשֶׁרka/a/SHERwhenהֵחֵלּוּhe/CHEL/lubeganהָאֲנָשִׁיםha/a/na/SHIMthe menהָאֵלֶּהha/EL/letheseלִרְבּוֹתlir/BOTto multiplyעַל־פְּנֵיal-pe/NEon the faceהָאָרֶץha/A/retsof the earthוּבָנוֹתu/va/NOTthat daughtersיֻלְּדוּyul/le/DUwere bornלָהֶםla/HEMunto themוַיִּרְאוּvay/yir/Uand sawבְנֵיve/NEthe sonsהָאָדָםha/a/DAMof menאֶת־הַבָּנוֹתet-hab/ba/NOTthose daughtersכִּיkithatטֹבֹתto/VOTfairהֵנָּהHEN/nathey wereוַיִּקְחוּvay/yik/CHUand they tookלָהֶםla/HEMthemselvesנָשִׁיםna/SHIMwivesמִכֹּלmik/KOLeven asאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhomsoeverבָּחָרוּ׃ba/CHA/ruthey chose

    And when these men began to multiply on the face of the earth, and daughters were born unto them, the sons of men saw that those daughters were fair, and they took them wives, even as they chose.

    וַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand saidיְהוָהAdonaithe Lordאֶל־נֹחַel-NO/achunto Noahבְּנוֹתbe/NOTthe daughtersבָּנֶיךָba/NE/khaof your sonsהִתְמַכְּרוּhit/mak/ke/RUsold themselvesכִּיkiforהִנֵּהhin/NEbeholdחָרָהcha/RAis kindledאַפִּיap/PImine angerבִּבְנֵיbiv/NEagainst the sonsהָאָדָםha/a/DAMof menכִּיkiforלֹאlonotיִשְׁמְעוּyish/me/Uthey will hearkenבְקוֹלִי׃ve/ko/LIto my voice

    And the Lord said unto Noah: The daughters of thy sons have sold themselves; for behold mine anger is kindled against the sons of men, for they will not hearken to my voice.

    וַיִּתְנַבֵּאvay/yit/nab/BEand prophesiedנֹחַNO/achNoahוַיְלַמֵּדvay/lam/MEDand taughtאֶת־דִּבְרֵיet-div/REthe thingsאֱלֹהִיםe/lo/HIMof Godכַּאֲשֶׁרka/a/SHEReven asהָיָהha/YAit wasבָּרֵאשִׁית׃ba/re/SHITin the beginning

    And it came to pass that Noah prophesied, and taught the things of God, even as it was in the beginning.

    וַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand saidיְהוָהAdonaithe Lordאֶל־נֹחַel-NO/achunto Noahלֹא־יָדוֹןlo-ya/DONshall not striveרוּחִיRu/CHImy Spiritבָאָדָםva/a/DAMwith manלְעֹלָםle/o/LAMalwaysכִּיkiforיֵדַעye/DAhe shall knowכִּיkithatכׇל־בָּשָׂרkhol-ba/SARall fleshיָמוּתya/MUTshall dieאַךְakhyetיָמָיוya/MAYVhis daysיִהְיוּyih/YUshall beמֵאָהme/Aan hundredוְעֶשְׂרִיםve/es/RIMand twentyשָׁנָהsha/NAyearsוְאִם־לֹאve/IM-loand if notיָשׁוּבוּya/SHU/vushall repentאֲנָשִׁיםa/na/SHIMmenאֲשַׁלַּחa/shal/LACHI will sendאֶת־הַמַּבּוּלet-ham/mab/BULthe floodsעֲלֵיהֶם׃a/le/HEMupon them

    And the Lord said unto Noah: My Spirit shall not always strive with man, for he shall know that all flesh shall die; yet his days shall be an hundred and twenty years; and if men do not repent, I will send in the floods upon them.

    וּבַיָּמִיםu/vay/ya/MIMand in the daysהָהֵםha/HEMthoseהָיוּha/YUthere wereנְפִילִיםne/fi/LIMgiantsבָּאָרֶץba/A/retson the earthוַיְבַקְּשׁוּvay/vak/ke/SHUand they soughtאֶת־נֶפֶשׁet-NE/feshthe lifeנֹחַNO/achof NoahאַךְakhbutיְהוָהAdonaithe Lordהָיָהha/YAwasעִם־נֹחַim-NO/achwith Noahוּגְבוּרַתu/ge/vu/RATand the powerיְהוָהAdonaiof the Lordהָיְתָהha/ye/TAwasעָלָיו׃a/LAYVupon him

    And in those days there were giants on the earth, and they sought Noah to take away his life; but the Lord was with Noah, and the power of the Lord was upon him.

    וַיִּסְמֹךְvay/yis/MOKHand ordainedיְהוָהAdonaithe Lordאֶת־נֹחַet-NO/achNoahעַל־דִּבְרָתוֹal-div/ra/TOafter his own orderוַיְצַוvay/TSAVand commandedאֹתוֹo/TOhimלָצֵאתla/TSETthat he should go forthוְלִקְרֹאve/lik/ROand declareאֶת־בְּשׂוֹרָתוֹet-Be/so/ra/TOhis Gospelלִבְנֵיliv/NEunto the childrenהָאָדָםha/a/DAMof menכַּאֲשֶׁרka/a/SHEReven asנִתְּנָהnit/te/NAit was givenלַחֲנוֹךְ׃la/Cha/NOKHunto Enoch

    And the Lord ordained Noah after his own order, and commanded him that he should go forth and declare his Gospel unto the children of men, even as it was given unto Enoch.

    וַיִּקְרָאvay/yik/RAand calledנֹחַNO/achNoahאֶל־בְּנֵיel-be/NEupon the childrenהָאָדָםha/a/DAMof menלָשׁוּבla/SHUVthat they should repentוְלֹאve/LObut notשָׁמְעוּsha/me/Uthey hearkenedלִדְבָרָיו׃lid/va/RAYVunto his words

    And it came to pass that Noah called upon the children of men that they should repent; but they hearkened not unto his words;

  21. 21

    וְגַםve/GAMand alsoאַחֲרֵיa/cha/REafter thatשׇׁמְעָםshom/AMthey heardאֹתוֹo/TOhimבָּאוּBA/uthey came upלְפָנָיוle/fa/NAYVbefore himלֵאמֹרle/MORsayingהִנֵּהhin/NEbeholdאֲנַחְנוּa/NACH/nuwe areבְנֵיve/NEthe sonsהָאֱלֹהִיםha/e/lo/HIMof Godהֲלֹאha/LOhave we notלָקַחְנוּla/KACH/nutakenלָנוּLA/nuunto ourselvesאֶת־בְּנוֹתet-be/NOTthe daughtersהָאָדָםha/a/DAMof menוַהֲלֹאva/ha/LOand are notאֲנַחְנוּa/NACH/nuweאֹכְלִיםokh/LIMeatingוְשֹׁתִיםve/sho/TIMand drinkingוְנֹשְׂאִיםve/nos/IMand marryingוְנֹתְנִיםve/not/NIMand giving in marriageוּנְשֵׁינוּu/ne/she/NUand our wivesיֹלְדוֹתyol/DOTbearלָנוּLA/nuunto usבָּנִיםba/NIMchildrenוְהֵםve/HEMand the same areגִּבֹּרִיםgib/bo/RIMmighty menכְּאַנְשֵׁיke/an/SHEwhich are like unto menקֶדֶםKE/demof oldאַנְשֵׁיan/SHEmenהַשֵּׁםhash/SHEMof renownוְלֹאve/LOand notשָׁמְעוּsha/me/Uthey hearkenedלְדִבְרֵיle/div/REunto the wordsנֹחַ׃NO/achof Noah

    And also, after that they had heard him, they came up before him, saying: Behold, we are the sons of God; have we not taken unto ourselves the daughters of men? And are we not eating and drinking, and marrying and giving in marriage? And our wives bear unto us children, and the same are mighty men, which are like unto men of old, men of great renown. And they hearkened not unto the words of Noah.

    וַיַּרְאvay/YARand sawאֱלֹהִיםe/lo/HIMGodכִּיkithatרַבָּהrab/BAgreat wasרָעַתra/ATthe wickednessהָאָדָםha/a/DAMof menבָּאָרֶץba/A/retson the earthוְכׇל־אִישׁve/KHOL-ishand every manנִשָּׂאnis/SAwas lifted upבְּיֵצֶרbe/YE/tserin the imaginationמַחְשְׁבֹתmach/she/VOTof the thoughtsלִבּוֹlib/BOof his heartרַקrakbeing onlyרַעraevilכׇּל־הַיּוֹם׃kol-hay/YOMcontinually

    And God saw that the wickedness of men had become great in the earth; and every man was lifted up in the imagination of the thoughts of his heart, being only evil continually.

    וַיּוֹסֶףvay/YO/sefand continuedנֹחַNO/achNoahלְהַטִּיףle/hat/TIFhis preachingאֶל־הָעָםel-ha/AMunto the peopleלֵאמֹרle/MORsayingשִׁמְעוּshim/Uhearkenוְהַקְשִׁיבוּve/hak/SHI/vuand give heedלִדְבָרָי׃lid/va/RAYunto my words

    And it came to pass that Noah continued his preaching unto the people, saying: Hearken, and give heed unto my words;

    הַאֲמִינוּha/a/MI/nubelieveוְשׁוּבוּve/SHU/vuand repentמֵחַטֹּאתֵיכֶםme/chat/to/te/KHEMof your sinsוְהִטָּבְלוּve/hit/ta/ve/LUand be baptizedבְּשֵׁםbe/SHEMin the nameיֵשׁוּעַYe/SHU/aof JesusהַמָּשִׁיחַHam/ma/SHI/achChristבֶּן־אֱלֹהִיםben-E/lo/HIMthe Son of Godכַּאֲבוֹתֵינוּka/a/vo/TE/nueven as our fathersוּתְקַבְּלוּu/te/kab/be/LUand you shall receiveאֶת־רוּחַ־הַקֹּדֶשׁet-RU/ach-hak/KO/deshthe Holy Ghostלְמַעַןle/MA/anthatיִגָּלֶהyig/ga/LEmay be manifestלָכֶםla/KHEMunto youכֹּלkolall thingsוְאִם־לֹאve/IM-loand if notתַעֲשׂוּta/a/SUyou doכֵןkhenthisיָבֹאya/VOshall comeהַמַּבּוּלham/mab/BULthe floodsעֲלֵיכֶםa/le/KHEMupon youוְלֹאve/LOand notשָׁמְעוּ׃sha/me/Uthey hearkened

    Believe and repent of your sins and be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ, the Son of God, even as our fathers, and ye shall receive the Holy Ghost, that ye may have all things made manifest; and if ye do not this, the floods will come in upon you; nevertheless they hearkened not.

    וַיִּנָּחֶםvay/yin/NA/chemand it repentedנֹחַNO/achNoahוַיִּכְאַבvay/yikh/AVand was painedלִבּוֹlib/BOhis heartכִּיkithatעָשָׂהa/SAmadeיְהוָהAdonaithe Lordאֶת־הָאָדָםet-ha/a/DAMmanבָּאָרֶץba/A/retson the earthוַיִּתְעַצֵּבvay/yit/ats/TSEVand it grieved himאֶל־לִבּוֹ׃el-lib/BOat his heart

    And it repented Noah, and his heart was pained that the Lord had made man on the earth, and it grieved him at the heart.

    וַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand saidיְהוָהAdonaithe Lordאֶמְחֶהem/CHEI will destroyאֶת־הָאָדָםet-ha/a/DAMmanאֲשֶׁר־בָּרָאתִיa/SHER-ba/RA/tiwhom I createdמֵעַלme/ALfromפְּנֵיpe/NEthe faceהָאֲדָמָהha/a/da/MAof the earthמֵאָדָםme/a/DAMboth manעַד־בְּהֵמָהad-be/he/MAbeastעַד־רֶמֶשׂad-RE/mesthe creeping thingsוְעַד־עוֹףve/AD-ofand the fowlsהַשָּׁמָיִםhash/sha/MA/yimof the airכִּיkiforנִחַםni/CHAMit repentethנֹחַNO/achNoahכִּיkithatבְרָאתִיםve/ra/TIMI created themוְכִיve/KHIand thatעֲשִׂיתִיםa/si/TIMI made themוְהוּאve/HUand heקָרָאka/RAcalledאֵלַיe/LAYunto meכִּיkiforבִקְּשׁוּvik/ke/SHUthey soughtאֶת־נַפְשׁוֹ׃et-naf/SHOhis life

    And the Lord said: I will destroy man whom I have created, from the face of the earth, both man and beast, and the creeping things, and the fowls of the air; for it repenteth Noah that I have created them, and that I have made them; and he hath called upon me; for they have sought his life.

    וְכֵןve/KHENand thusנֹחַNO/achNoahמָצָאma/TSAfoundחֵןchengraceבְּעֵינֵיbe/e/NEin the eyesיְהוָהAdonaiof the LordכִּיkiforנֹחַNO/achNoahאִישׁisha manצַדִּיקtsad/DIKjustתָּמִיםta/MIMperfectהָיָהha/YAwasבְּדֹרֹתָיוbe/do/ro/TAYVin his generationוְאֶת־הָאֱלֹהִיםve/ET-ha/e/lo/HIMand with Godהִתְהַלֶּךְhit/hal/LEKHwalkedנֹחַNO/achNoahוְגַםve/GAMas did alsoשְׁלֹשֶׁתshe/LO/shetthreeבָּנָיוba/NAYVof his sonsשֵׁםShemShemחָםChamHamוָיָפֶת׃va/YA/fetand Japheth

    And thus Noah found grace in the eyes of the Lord; for Noah was a just man, and perfect in his generation; and he walked with God, as did also his three sons, Shem, Ham, and Japheth.

    וַתִּשָּׁחֵתvat/tish/sha/CHETand was corruptהָאָרֶץha/A/retsthe earthלִפְנֵיlif/NEbeforeהָאֱלֹהִיםha/e/lo/HIMGodוַתִּמָּלֵאvat/tim/ma/LEand was filledהָאָרֶץha/A/retsthe earthחָמָס׃cha/MASwith violence

    The earth was corrupt before God, and it was filled with violence.

    וַיַּרְאvay/YARand lookedאֱלֹהִיםe/lo/HIMGodאֶת־הָאָרֶץet-ha/A/retsupon the earthוְהִנֵּהve/hin/NEand beholdנִשְׁחָתָהnish/CHA/tait was corruptכִּי־הִשְׁחִיתki-hish/CHITfor corruptedכׇּל־בָּשָׂרkol-ba/SARall fleshאֶת־דַּרְכּוֹet-dar/KOits wayעַל־הָאָרֶץ׃al-ha/A/retsupon the earth

    And God looked upon the earth, and, behold, it was corrupt, for all flesh had corrupted its way upon the earth.

    And God said unto Noah: The end of all flesh is come before me, for the earth is filled with violence, and behold I will destroy all flesh from off the earth.
