1. 1

   וְכֹהve/KHOand thusנְכַלֶּהne/khal/LEwe will finishאֶת־הַשָּׁמַיִםet-hash/sha/MA/yimthe heavensוְאֶת־הָאָרֶץve/ET-ha/A/retsand the earthוְאֶת־כׇּל־צְבָאָם׃ve/ET-kol-tse/va/AMand all the hosts of them

   And thus we will finish the heavens and the earth, and all the hosts of them.

2. 2

   וַיֹּאמְרוּvay/yo/me/RUand saidהָאֱלֹהִיםha/E/lo/HIMthe Godsבֵּינֵיהֶםbe/ne/HEMamong themselvesבַּפַּעַםbap/PA/amon the timeהַשְּׁבִיעִיתhash/she/vi/ITseventhנְכַלֶּהne/khal/LEwe will endאֶת־מְלַאכְתֵּנוּet-me/lakh/te/NUour workאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhichיָעַצְנוּya/ats/NUwe counseledוְנִשְׁבֹּתve/nish/BOTand we will restבַּפַּעַםbap/PA/amon the timeהַשְּׁבִיעִיתhash/she/vi/ITseventhמִכׇּל־מְלַאכְתֵּנוּmik/KOL-me/lakh/te/NUfrom all our workאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhichיָעַצְנוּ׃ya/ats/NUwe counseled

   And the Gods said among themselves: On the seventh time we will end our work, which we have counseled; and we will rest on the seventh time from all our work which we have counseled.

   And the Gods concluded upon the seventh time, because that on the seventh time they would rest from all their works which they (the Gods) counseled among themselves to form; and sanctified it. And thus were their decisions at the time that they counseled among themselves to form the heavens and the earth.

   וַיֵּרְדוּvay/yer/DUand came downהָאֱלֹהִיםha/E/lo/HIMthe Godsוַיִּיצְרוּvay/yi/tse/RUand formedאֵלֶּהEL/letheseתּוֹלְדוֹתtol/DOTthe generationsהַשָּׁמַיִםhash/sha/MA/yimof the heavensוְהָאָרֶץve/ha/A/retsand of the earthבְּהִוָּצְרָםbe/hiv/va/tse/RAMwhen they were formedבְּיוֹםbe/YOMin the dayאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthatיָצְרוּya/tse/RUformedהָאֱלֹהִיםha/E/lo/HIMthe GodsאֶרֶץE/retsthe earthוְשָׁמָיִם׃ve/sha/MA/yimand the heavens

   And the Gods came down and formed these the generations of the heavens and of the earth, when they were formed in the day that the Gods formed the earth and the heavens,

   כְּפִיke/FIaccording toכׇּל־אֲשֶׁרkol-a/SHERall that whichדִּבְּרוּdib/be/RUthey saidעַל־כׇּל־שִׂיחַal-kol-SI/achconcerning every plantהַשָּׂדֶהhas/sa/DEof the fieldבְּטֶרֶםbe/TE/rembeforeיִהְיֶהyih/YEit wasבָאָרֶץva/A/retsin the earthוְעַל־כׇּל־עֵשֶׂבve/AL-kol-E/sevand every herbהַשָּׂדֶהhas/sa/DEof the fieldבְּטֶרֶםbe/TE/rembeforeיִצְמָחyits/MACHit grewכִּיkiforלֹאlonotהִמְטִירוּhim/ti/RUcaused it to rainהָאֱלֹהִיםha/E/lo/HIMthe Godsעַל־הָאָרֶץal-ha/A/retsupon the earthבְּהִוָּעֲצָםbe/hiv/va/a/TSAMwhen they counseledלַעֲשׂוֹתָםla/a/so/TAMto do themוְלֹאve/LOand notיָצְרוּya/tse/RUformedאָדָםa/DAMa manלַעֲבֹדla/a/VODto tillאֶת־הָאֲדָמָה׃et-ha/a/da/MAthe ground

   According to all that which they had said concerning every plant of the field before it was in the earth, and every herb of the field before it grew; for the Gods had not caused it to rain upon the earth when they counseled to do them, and had not formed a man to till the ground.

   וְאֵדve/EDbut a mistעָלָהa/LAwent upמִן־הָאָרֶץmin-ha/A/retsfrom the earthוְהִשְׁקָהve/hish/KAand wateredאֶת־כׇּל־פְּנֵיet-kol-pe/NEthe whole faceהָאֲדָמָה׃ha/a/da/MAof the ground

   But there went up a mist from the earth, and watered the whole face of the ground.

   וַיִּיצְרוּvay/yi/tse/RUand formedהָאֱלֹהִיםha/E/lo/HIMthe Godsאֶת־הָאָדָםet-ha/a/DAMmanעָפָרa/FARof dustמִן־הָאֲדָמָהmin-ha/a/da/MAfrom the groundוַיִּקְחוּvay/yik/CHUand they tookאֶת־רוּחוֹet-ru/CHOhis spiritהִיאhithat isרוּחַRU/achthe spiritהָאָדָםha/a/DAMof the manוַיָּשִׂימוּvay/ya/SI/muand putאֹתָהּo/TAitבְּקִרְבּוֹbe/kir/BOinto himוַיִּפְּחוּvay/yip/pe/CHUand they breathedבְאַפָּיוve/ap/PAYVinto his nostrilsנִשְׁמַתnish/MATthe breathחַיִּיםchay/YIMof lifeוַיְהִיvay/HIand becameהָאָדָםha/a/DAMmanלְנֶפֶשׁle/NE/fesha soulחַיָּה׃chay/YAliving

   And the Gods formed man from the dust of the ground, and took his spirit (that is, the man's spirit), and put it into him; and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and man became a living soul.

   וַיִּטְּעוּvay/yit/te/Uand plantedהָאֱלֹהִיםha/E/lo/HIMthe Godsגַּןgana gardenבְּעֵדֶןbe/E/denin Edenמִקֶּדֶםmik/KE/demeastwardוַיָּשִׂימוּvay/ya/SI/muand they putשָׁםshamthereאֶת־הָאָדָםet-ha/a/DAMthe manאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhoseרוּחוֹru/CHOspiritשָׂמוּSA/muthey putבַגּוּףvag/GUFinto the bodyאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhichיָצָרוּ׃ya/TSA/ruthey formed

   And the Gods planted a garden, eastward in Eden, and there they put the man, whose spirit they had put into the body which they had formed.

   וַיַּצְמִיחוּvay/yats/mi/CHUand made to growהָאֱלֹהִיםha/E/lo/HIMthe Godsמִן־הָאֲדָמָהmin-ha/a/da/MAfrom the groundכׇּל־עֵץkol-etsevery treeנֶחְמָדnech/MADpleasantלְמַרְאֶהle/mar/Eto the sightוְטוֹבve/TOVand goodלְמַאֲכָלle/ma/a/KHALfor foodוְעֵץve/ETSthe treeהַחַיִּיםha/chay/YIMof lifeגַּםgamalsoבְּתוֹךְbe/TOKHin the midst ofהַגָּןhag/GANthe gardenוְעֵץve/ETSand the treeהַדַּעַתhad/DA/atof the knowledgeטוֹבtovof goodוָרָע׃va/RAand evil

   And out of the ground made the Gods to grow every tree that is pleasant to the sight and good for food; the tree of life, also, in the midst of the garden, and the tree of knowledge of good and evil.

    וְנָהָרve/na/HARand a riverיֹצֵאyo/TSEran outמֵעֵדֶןme/E/denof Edenלְהַשְׁקוֹתle/hash/KOTto waterאֶת־הַגָּןet-hag/GANthe gardenוּמִשָּׁםu/mish/SHAMand from thenceיִפָּרֵדyip/pa/REDit was partedוְהָיָהve/ha/YAand becameלְאַרְבָּעָהle/ar/ba/Ainto fourרָאשִׁים׃ra/SHIMheads

    There was a river running out of Eden, to water the garden, and from thence it was parted and became into four heads.

    וַיִּקְחוּvay/yik/CHUand tookהָאֱלֹהִיםha/E/lo/HIMthe Godsאֶת־הָאָדָםet-ha/a/DAMthe manוַיָּשִׂימוּvay/ya/SI/muand putאֹתוֹo/TOhimבְגַן־עֵדֶןve/GAN-E/denin the Garden of Edenלְעׇבְדָהּle/ov/DAto dress itוּלְשׇׁמְרָהּ׃u/le/shom/RAand to keep it

    And the Gods took the man and put him in the Garden of Eden, to dress it and to keep it.

    וַיְצַוּוּvay/tsav/VUand commandedהָאֱלֹהִיםha/E/lo/HIMthe Godsאֶת־הָאָדָםet-ha/a/DAMthe manלֵאמֹרle/MORsayingמִכֹּלmik/KOLof everyעֵץ־הַגָּןets-hag/GANtree of the gardenאָכֹלa/KHOLfreelyתֹּאכֵל׃to/KHELyou may eat

    And the Gods commanded the man, saying: Of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat,

13. 13

    וּמֵעֵץu/me/ETSbut of the treeהַדַּעַתhad/DA/atof the knowledgeטוֹבtovof goodוָרָעva/RAand evilלֹאlonotתֹאכַלto/KHALyou shall eatמִמֶּנּוּmim/MEN/nuof itכִּיkiforבְּעֵתbe/ETin the timeאֲכׇלְךָa/khol/KHAthat you eatמִמֶּנּוּmim/MEN/nuthereofמוֹתmotsurelyתָּמוּתta/MUTyou shall dieוַאֲנִיva/a/NInow IאַבְרָהָםAv/ra/HAMAbrahamרָאִיתִיra/I/tisawכִּיkithatזֶהzeit wasכְּפִיke/FIafterזְמַןze/MANthe timeיְהוָהAdonaiof the Lordאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhichהוּאhuwasכְּפִיke/FIafterזְמַןze/MANthe timeקוֹלֹבKo/LOBof Kolobכִּיkiforעֲדַיִןa/DA/yinas yetלֹאlonotשָׂמוּSA/muappointedהָאֱלֹהִיםha/E/lo/HIMthe Godsלְאָדָםle/A/DAMunto Adamאֶת־חֶשְׁבּוֹנוֹ׃et-chesh/bo/NOhis reckoning

    But of the tree of knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it; for in the time that thou eatest thereof, thou shalt surely die. Now I, Abraham, saw that it was after the Lord's time, which was after the time of Kolob; for as yet the Gods had not appointed unto Adam his reckoning.

14. 14

    וַיֹּאמְרוּvay/yo/me/RUand saidהָאֱלֹהִיםha/E/lo/HIMthe Godsנַעֲשֶׂהna/a/SElet us makeעֵזֶרE/zeran helpכְּנֶגְדּוֹke/neg/DOmeetלָאָדָםla/a/DAMfor the manכִּיkiforלֹא־טוֹבlo-tovit is not goodהֱיוֹתhe/YOTthat beהָאָדָםha/a/DAMthe manלְבַדּוֹle/vad/DOaloneלָכֵןla/KHENthereforeנִיצֹרni/TSORwe will formלוֹlofor himעֵזֶרE/zeran helpכְּנֶגְדּוֹ׃ke/neg/DOmeet for him

    And the Gods said: Let us make an help meet for the man, for it is not good that the man should be alone, therefore we will form an help meet for him.

15. 15

    וַיַּפִּילוּvay/yap/PI/luand caused to fallהָאֱלֹהִיםha/E/lo/HIMthe Godsתַּרְדֵּמָהtar/de/MAa deep sleepעַל־הָאָדָםal-Ha/a/DAMupon Adamוַיִּישָׁןvay/yi/SHANand he sleptוַיִּקְחוּvay/yik/CHUand they tookאַחַתa/CHAToneמִצַּלְעֹתָיוmits/tsal/o/TAYVof his ribsוַיִּסְגְּרוּvay/yis/ge/RUand closed upבָּשָׂרba/SARthe fleshתַּחְתֶּנָּה׃tach/TEN/nain the stead thereof

    And the Gods caused a deep sleep to fall upon Adam; and he slept, and they took one of his ribs, and closed up the flesh in the stead thereof;

16. 16

    וּמִן־הַצֵּלָעu/MIN-hats/tse/LAand of the ribאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhichלָקְחוּla/ke/CHUtookהָאֱלֹהִיםha/E/lo/HIMthe Godsמִן־הָאָדָםmin-ha/a/DAMfrom manיָצְרוּya/tse/RUformed theyאִשָּׁהish/SHAa womanוַיָּבִיאוּvay/ya/VI/uand broughtאֹתָהּo/TAherאֶל־הָאָדָם׃el-ha/a/DAMunto the man

    And of the rib which the Gods had taken from man, formed they a woman, and brought her unto the man.

17. 17

    וַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand saidהָאָדָםHa/a/DAMAdamזֹאתzotthisהַפַּעַםhap/PA/amwas nowעֶצֶםE/tsemboneמֵעֲצָמַיme/a/tsa/MAYof my bonesוּבָשָׂרu/va/SARand fleshמִבְּשָׂרִיmib/be/sa/RIof my fleshעַתָּהat/TAnowלְזֹאתle/ZOTsheיִקָּרֵאyik/ka/REshall be calledאִשָּׁהIsh/SHAWomanכִּיkibecauseמֵאִישׁme/ISHout of manלֻקְחָה־זֹּאת׃luk/CHA-zotshe was taken

    And Adam said: This was bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh; now she shall be called Woman, because she was taken out of man;

18. 18

    עַל־כֵּןal-kenthereforeיַעֲזׇב־אִישׁya/a/ZOV-ishshall a man leaveאֶת־אָבִיוet-a/VIVhis fatherוְאֶת־אִמּוֹve/ET-im/MOand his motherוְדָבַקve/da/VAKand shall cleaveבְּאִשְׁתּוֹbe/ish/TOunto his wifeוְהָיוּve/ha/YUand they shall beלְבָשָׂרle/va/SARfleshאֶחָד׃e/CHADone

    Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife, and they shall be one flesh.

19. 19

    וַיִּהְיוּvay/yih/YUand wereשְׁנֵיהֶםshe/ne/HEMbothעֲרוּמִּיםa/rum/MIMnakedהָאָדָםha/a/DAMthe manוְאִשְׁתּוֹve/ish/TOand his wifeוְלֹאve/LOand notיִתְבֹּשָׁשׁוּ׃yit/bo/SHA/shuwere they ashamed

    And they were both naked, the man and his wife, and were not ashamed.

20. 20

    וּמִן־הָאֲדָמָהu/MIN-ha/a/da/MAand out of the groundיָצְרוּya/tse/RUformedהָאֱלֹהִיםha/E/lo/HIMthe Godsכׇּל־חַיַּתkol-chay/YATevery beastהַשָּׂדֶהhas/sa/DEof the fieldוְאֵתve/ETandכׇּל־עוֹףkol-ofevery fowlהַשָּׁמַיִםhash/sha/MA/yimof the airוַיָּבִיאוּvay/ya/VI/uand broughtאֶל־הָאָדָםel-Ha/a/DAMunto Adamלִרְאוֹתlir/OTto seeמַה־יִּקְרָאma-yik/RAwhat he would callלוֹlothemוְכֹלve/KHOLand whatsoeverאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthatיִקְרָאyik/RAcalledלוֹlounto itהָאָדָםHa/a/DAMAdamנֶפֶשׁNE/feshcreatureחַיָּהchay/YAlivingהוּאhuthat wasשְׁמוֹ׃she/MOthe name thereof

    And out of the ground the Gods formed every beast of the field, and every fowl of the air, and brought them unto Adam to see what he would call them; and whatsoever Adam called every living creature, that should be the name thereof.

    וַיִּקְרָאvay/yik/RAand gaveהָאָדָםHa/a/DAMAdamשֵׁמוֹתshe/MOTnamesלְכׇל־הַבְּהֵמָהle/KHOL-hab/be/he/MAto all cattleוּלְעוֹףu/le/OFto the fowlהַשָּׁמַיִםhash/sha/MA/yimof the airוּלְכֹלu/le/KHOLto everyחַיַּתchay/YATbeastהַשָּׂדֶהhas/sa/DEof the fieldוּלְאָדָםu/Le/a/DAMand for Adamנִמְצָאnim/TSAthere was foundעֵזֶרE/zeran helpכְּנֶגְדּוֹ׃ke/neg/DOmeet for him

    And Adam gave names to all cattle, to the fowl of the air, to every beast of the field; and for Adam, there was found an help meet for him.
