Zechariah 12 זְכַרְיָה פרק י״ב

   מַשָּׂאmas/SAthe burden ofדְבַר־יְהֹוָהde/VAR-Adonaithe word of the LORDעַל־יִשְׂרָאֵלal-Yis/ra/ELfor Israelנְאֻם־יְהֹוָהne/UM-Adonaisays the LORDנֹטֶהno/TEwho stretches forthשָׁמַיִםsha/MA/yimthe heavensוְיֹסֵדve/yo/SEDand lays the foundation ofאָרֶץA/retsthe earthוְיֹצֵרve/yo/TSERand formsרוּחַ־אָדָםRU/ach-a/DAMthe spirit of manבְּקִרְבּוֹ׃be/kir/BOwithin him

   The burden of the word of the LORD for Israel, saith the LORD, which stretcheth forth the heavens, and layeth the foundation of the earth, and formeth the spirit of man within him.

   הִנֵּהhin/NEbeholdאָנֹכִיa/no/KHIIשָׂםsamwill makeאֶת־יְרוּשָׁלַ͏ִםet-Ye/ru/sha/LA/yimJerusalemסַף־רַעַלsaf-RA/ala cup of tremblingלְכׇל־הָעַמִּיםle/KHOL-ha/am/MIMto all the peoplesסָבִיבsa/VIVround aboutוְגַםve/GAMand alsoעַל־יְהוּדָהal-Ye/hu/DAupon Judahיִהְיֶהyih/YEshall it beבַמָּצוֹרvam/ma/TSORin the siegeעַל־יְרוּשָׁלָ͏ִם׃al-Ye/ru/sha/LA/yimagainst Jerusalem

   Behold, I will make Jerusalem a cup of trembling unto all the people round about, when they shall be in the siege both against Judah and against Jerusalem.

   וְהָיָהve/ha/YAand it shall beבַיּוֹם־הַהוּאvay/YOM-ha/HUin that dayאָשִׂיםa/SIMwill I makeאֶת־יְרוּשָׁלַ͏ִםet-Ye/ru/sha/LA/yimJerusalemאֶבֶןE/vena stoneמַעֲמָסָהma/a/ma/SAburdensomeלְכׇל־הָעַמִּיםle/KHOL-ha/am/MIMfor all the peoplesכׇּל־עֹמְסֶיהָkol-om/SE/haall that burden themselves with itשָׂרוֹטsa/ROTcutיִשָּׂרֵטוּyis/sa/RE/tushall be cutוְנֶאֶסְפוּve/ne/es/FUthough be gathered togetherעָלֶיהָa/LE/haagainst itכֹּלkolallגּוֹיֵיgo/YEthe nations ofהָאָרֶץ׃ha/A/retsthe earth

   And in that day will I make Jerusalem a burdensome stone for all people: all that burden themselves with it shall be cut in pieces, though all the people of the earth be gathered together against it.

   בַּיּוֹםbay/YOMin the dayהַהוּאha/HUthatנְאֻם־יְהֹוָהne/UM-Adonaisays the LORDאַכֶּהak/KEI will smiteכׇל־סוּסkhol-susevery horseבַּתִּמָּהוֹןbat/tim/ma/HONwith astonishmentוְרֹכְבוֹve/rokh/VOand his riderבַּשִּׁגָּעוֹןbash/shig/ga/ONwith madnessוְעַל־בֵּיתve/AL-betand upon the house ofיְהוּדָהYe/hu/DAJudahאֶפְקַחef/KACHI will openאֶת־עֵינַיet-e/NAYmy eyesוְכֹלve/KHOLand everyסוּסsushorse ofהָעַמִּיםha/am/MIMthe peoplesאַכֶּהak/KEI will smiteבַּעִוָּרוֹן׃ba/iv/va/RONwith blindness

   In that day, saith the LORD, I will smite every horse with astonishment, and his rider with madness: and I will open mine eyes upon the house of Judah, and will smite every horse of the people with blindness.

   וְאָמְרוּve/a/me/RUand shall sayאַלֻּפֵיal/lu/FEthe governors ofיְהוּדָהYe/hu/DAJudahבְּלִבָּםbe/lib/BAMin their heartאַמְצָהam/TSAstrengthלִיlito meיֹשְׁבֵיyosh/VEthe inhabitants ofיְרוּשָׁלַ͏ִםYe/ru/sha/LA/yimJerusalemבַּיהֹוָהba-Adonaiin the LORDצְבָאוֹתtse/va/OTof hostsאֱלֹהֵיהֶם׃e/lo/he/HEMtheir God

   And the governors of Judah shall say in their heart, The inhabitants of Jerusalem shall be my strength in the LORD of hosts their God.

   בַּיּוֹםbay/YOMin the dayהַהוּאha/HUthatאָשִׂיםa/SIMwill I makeאֶת־אַלֻּפֵיet-al/lu/FEthe governors ofיְהוּדָהYe/hu/DAJudahכְּכִיּוֹרke/khiy/YORlike a pot ofאֵשׁeshfireבְּעֵצִיםbe/e/TSIMamong the woodוּכְלַפִּידu/khe/lap/PIDand like a torch ofאֵשׁeshfireבְּעָמִירbe/a/MIRin a sheafוְאָכְלוּve/a/khe/LUand they shall devourעַל־יָמִיןal-ya/MINon the right handוְעַל־שְׂמֹאולve/AL-se/MOLand on the leftאֶת־כׇּל־הָעַמִּיםet-kol-ha/am/MIMall the peoplesסָבִיבsa/VIVround aboutוְיָשְׁבָהve/ya/she/VAand shall be inhabitedיְרוּשָׁלַ͏ִםYe/ru/sha/LA/yimJerusalemעוֹדodagainתַּחְתֶּיהָtach/TE/hain her own placeבִּירוּשָׁלָ͏ִם׃bI/ru/sha/LA/yimin Jerusalem

   In that day will I make the governors of Judah like an hearth of fire among the wood, and like a torch of fire in a sheaf; and they shall devour all the people round about, on the right hand and on the left: and Jerusalem shall be inhabited again in her own place, even in Jerusalem.

   וְהוֹשִׁעַve/ho/SHI/aand shall saveיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDאֶת־אׇהֳלֵיet-o/ho/LEthe tents ofיְהוּדָהYe/hu/DAJudahבָּרִאשֹׁנָהba/ri/sho/NAfirstלְמַעַןle/MA/anthatלֹא־תִגְדַּלlo-tig/DALbe not magnifiedתִּפְאֶרֶתtif/E/retthe glory ofבֵּית־דָּוִידbet-Da/VIDthe house of Davidוְתִפְאֶרֶתve/tif/E/retand the glory ofיֹשֵׁבyo/SHEVthe inhabitant ofיְרוּשָׁלַ͏ִםYe/ru/sha/LA/yimJerusalemעַל־יְהוּדָה׃al-Ye/hu/DAabove Judah

   The LORD also shall save the tents of Judah first, that the glory of the house of David and the glory of the inhabitants of Jerusalem do not magnify themselves against Judah.

   בַּיּוֹםbay/YOMin the dayהַהוּאha/HUthatיָגֵןya/GENwill defendיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDבְּעַדbe/ADaroundיוֹשֵׁבyo/SHEVthe inhabitants ofיְרוּשָׁלַ͏ִםYe/ru/sha/LA/yimJerusalemוְהָיָהve/ha/YAand shall beהַנִּכְשָׁלhan/nikh/SHALhe that is feebleבָּהֶםba/HEMamong themבַּיּוֹםbay/YOMin the dayהַהוּאha/HUthatכְּדָוִידke/Da/VIDlike Davidוּבֵיתu/VETand the house ofדָּוִידDa/VIDDavidכֵּאלֹהִיםke/lo/HIMas Godכְּמַלְאַךְke/mal/AKHas the angel ofיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDלִפְנֵיהֶם׃lif/ne/HEMbefore them

   In that day shall the LORD defend the inhabitants of Jerusalem; and he that is feeble among them at that day shall be as David; and the house of David shall be as God, as the angel of the LORD before them.

9. 9

   וְהָיָהve/ha/YAand it shall beבַּיּוֹםbay/YOMin the dayהַהוּאha/HUthatאֲבַקֵּשׁa/vak/KESHI will seekלְהַשְׁמִידle/hash/MIDto destroyאֶת־כׇּל־הַגּוֹיִםet-kol-hag/go/YIMall the nationsהַבָּאִיםhab/ba/IMthat comeעַל־יְרוּשָׁלָ͏ִם׃al-Ye/ru/sha/LA/yimagainst Jerusalem

   And it shall come to pass in that day, that I will seek to destroy all the nations that come against Jerusalem.

10. 10

    וְשָׁפַכְתִּיve/sha/fakh/TIand I will pourעַל־בֵּיתal-betupon the house ofדָּוִידDa/VIDDavidוְעַלve/ALand uponיוֹשֵׁבyo/SHEVthe inhabitants ofיְרוּשָׁלַ͏ִםYe/ru/sha/LA/yimJerusalemרוּחַRU/achthe spirit ofחֵןchengraceוְתַחֲנוּנִיםve/ta/cha/nu/NIMand supplicationsוְהִבִּיטוּve/hib/BI/tuand they shall lookאֵלַיe/LAYupon meאֵת־אֲשֶׁר־דָּקָרוּet-a/SHER-da/KA/ruwhom they have piercedוְסָפְדוּve/sa/fe/DUand they shall mournעָלָיוa/LAYVfor himכְּמִסְפֵּדke/mis/PEDas one mournsעַל־הַיָּחִידal-hay/ya/CHIDfor an only sonוְהָמֵרve/ha/MERand shall be in bitternessעָלָיוa/LAYVfor himכְּהָמֵרke/ha/MERas one in bitternessעַל־הַבְּכוֹר׃al-hab/be/KHORfor a firstborn

    And I will pour upon the house of David, and upon the inhabitants of Jerusalem, the spirit of grace and of supplications: and they shall look upon me whom they have pierced, and they shall mourn for him, as one mourneth for his only son, and shall be in bitterness for him, as one that is in bitterness for his firstborn.

11. 11

    בַּיּוֹםbay/YOMin the dayהַהוּאha/HUthatיִגְדַּלyig/DALshall be greatהַמִּסְפֵּדham/mis/PEDthe mourningבִּירוּשָׁלַ͏ִםbI/ru/sha/LA/yimin Jerusalemכְּמִסְפַּדke/mis/PADas the mourning ofהֲדַד־רִמּוֹןHa/DAD-rim/MONHadadrimmonבְּבִקְעַתbe/vik/ATin the valley ofמְגִדּוֹן׃Me/gid/DONMegiddo

    In that day shall there be a great mourning in Jerusalem, as the mourning of Hadadrimmon in the valley of Megiddon.

12. 12

    וְסָפְדָהve/sa/fe/DAand shall mournהָאָרֶץha/A/retsthe landמִשְׁפָּחוֹתmish/pa/CHOTfamiliesמִשְׁפָּחוֹתmish/pa/CHOTfamiliesלְבָדle/VADapartמִשְׁפַּחַתmish/PA/chatthe family ofבֵּית־דָּוִידbet-Da/VIDthe house of Davidלְבָדle/VADapartוּנְשֵׁיהֶםu/ne/she/HEMand their wivesלְבָדle/VADapartמִשְׁפַּחַתmish/PA/chatthe family ofבֵּית־נָתָןbet-Na/TANthe house of Nathanלְבָדle/VADapartוּנְשֵׁיהֶםu/ne/she/HEMand their wivesלְבָד׃le/VADapart

    And the land shall mourn, every family apart; the family of the house of David apart, and their wives apart; the family of the house of Nathan apart, and their wives apart;

    מִשְׁפַּחַתmish/PA/chatthe family ofבֵּית־לֵוִיbet-Le/VIthe house of Leviלְבָדle/VADapartוּנְשֵׁיהֶםu/ne/she/HEMand their wivesלְבָדle/VADapartמִשְׁפַּחַתmish/PA/chatthe family ofהַשִּׁמְעִיhash/Shim/Ithe Shimeiteלְבָדle/VADapartוּנְשֵׁיהֶםu/ne/she/HEMand their wivesלְבָד׃le/VADapart

    The family of the house of Levi apart, and their wives apart; the family of Shimei apart, and their wives apart;

14. 14

    כֹּלkolallהַמִּשְׁפָּחוֹתham/mish/pa/CHOTthe familiesהַנִּשְׁאָרוֹתhan/nish/a/ROTthat remainמִשְׁפָּחֹתmish/pa/CHOTfamiliesמִשְׁפָּחֹתmish/pa/CHOTfamiliesלְבָדle/VADapartוּנְשֵׁיהֶםu/ne/she/HEMand their wivesלְבָד׃le/VADapart

    All the families that remain, every family apart, and their wives apart.
