   שׇׁפְטֵנִיvindicate meאֱלֹהִיםO Godוְרִיבָהand pleadרִיבִיmy caseמִגּוֹיagainst a nationלֹא־חָסִידungodlyמֵאִישׁ־מִרְמָהfrom the deceitful manוְעַוְלָהand unjustתְפַלְּטֵנִי׃O deliver me

   Judge me, O God, and plead my cause against an ungodly nation: O deliver me from the deceitful and unjust man.

   כִּי־אַתָּהfor You areאֱלֹהֵיthe God ofמָעוּזִּיmy strengthלָמָהwhyזְנַחְתָּנִיhave You cast me offלָמָּה־קֹדֵרwhy mourningאֶתְהַלֵּךְdo I go aboutבְּלַחַץin the oppression ofאוֹיֵב׃the enemy

   For thou art the God of my strength: why dost thou cast me off? why go I mourning because of the oppression of the enemy?

   שְׁלַח־אוֹרְךָsend out Your lightוַאֲמִתְּךָand Your truthהֵמָּהlet themיַנְחוּנִיlead meיְבִיאוּנִיlet them bring meאֶל־הַר־קׇדְשְׁךָto Your holy hillוְאֶל־מִשְׁכְּנוֹתֶיךָ׃and to Your dwelling places

   O send out thy light and thy truth: let them lead me; let them bring me unto thy holy hill, and to thy tabernacles.

   וְאָבוֹאָהthen will I goאֶל־מִזְבַּחto the altar ofאֱלֹהִיםGodאֶל־אֵלto Godשִׂמְחַתthe joy ofגִּילִיmy gladnessוְאוֹדְךָand I will praise Youבְכִנּוֹרwith the lyreאֱלֹהִיםGodאֱלֹהָי׃my God

   Then will I go unto the altar of God, unto God my exceeding joy: yea, upon the harp will I praise thee, O God my God.

   מַה־תִּשְׁתּוֹחֲחִיwhy are you cast downנַפְשִׁיO my soulוּמַה־תֶּהֱמִיand why do you moanעָלָיwithin meהוֹחִילִיhopeלֵאלֹהִיםin Godכִּי־עוֹדfor yetאוֹדֶנּוּI will praise Himיְשׁוּעֹתthe health ofפָּנַיmy countenanceוֵאלֹהָי׃and my God

   Why art thou cast down, O my soul? and why art thou disquieted within me? hope in God: for I shall yet praise him, who is the health of my countenance, and my God.
