   A Psalm of David. LORD, I cry unto thee: make haste unto me; give ear unto my voice, when I cry unto thee.

   Let my prayer be set forth before thee as incense; and the lifting up of my hands as the evening sacrifice.

   Set a watch, O LORD, before my mouth; keep the door of my lips.

   אַל־תַּט־לִבִּיal-tat-lib/BIincline not my heartלְדָבָרle/da/VARto any thingרָעraevilלְהִתְעוֹלֵלle/hit/o/LELto practiceעֲלִלוֹתa/li/LOTdeedsבְּרֶשַׁעbe/RE/shain wickednessאֶת־אִישִׁיםet-i/SHIMwith menפֹּעֲלֵי־אָוֶןPO/a/le-A/venwho work iniquityוּבַל־אֶלְחַםu/VAL-el/CHAMand let me not eatבְּמַנְעַמֵּיהֶם׃be/man/am/me/HEMof their dainties

   Incline not my heart to any evil thing, to practise wicked works with men that work iniquity: and let me not eat of their dainties.

   Let the righteous smite me; it shall be a kindness: and let him reprove me; it shall be an excellent oil, which shall not break my head: for yet my prayer also shall be in their calamities.

   נִשְׁמְטוּnish/me/TUare thrown downבִידֵי־סֶלַעvi/DE-SE/laby the sides of the rockשֹׁפְטֵיהֶםshof/te/HEMtheir judgesוְשָׁמְעוּve/sha/me/Uand they shall hearאֲמָרַיa/ma/RAYmy wordsכִּיkiforנָעֵמוּ׃na/E/muthey are sweet

   When their judges are overthrown in stony places, they shall hear my words; for they are sweet.

   כְּמוֹke/MOas whenפֹלֵחַfo/LE/achone plowsוּבֹקֵעַu/vo/KE/aand breaks upבָּאָרֶץba/A/retson the earthנִפְזְרוּnif/ze/RUare scatteredעֲצָמֵינוּa/tsa/ME/nuour bonesלְפִיle/FIat the mouth ofשְׁאוֹל׃She/OLSheol

   Our bones are scattered at the grave's mouth, as when one cutteth and cleaveth wood upon the earth.

   כִּיkiforאֵלֶיךָe/LE/khato YouיֱהֹוִהAdonaiO GODאֲדֹנָיa/do/NAYthe Lordעֵינָיe/NAYare my eyesבְּכָהbe/KHAin Youחָסִיתִיcha/SI/tiI take refugeאַל־תְּעַרal-te/ARdo not pour outנַפְשִׁי׃naf/SHImy soul

   But mine eyes are unto thee, O GOD the Lord: in thee is my trust; leave not my soul destitute.

   שׇׁמְרֵנִיshom/RE/nikeep meמִידֵיMI/defrom the grip ofפַחfachthe snareיָקְשׁוּYAK/shuthey have laidלִיlifor meוּמֹקְשׁוֹתu/mok/SHOTand the traps ofפֹּעֲלֵיPO/a/leof the workers ofאָוֶן׃A/veniniquity

   Keep me from the snares which they have laid for me, and the gins of the workers of iniquity.

    יִפְּלוּyip/pe/LUlet fallבְמַכְמֹרָיוve/makh/mo/RAYVinto their own netsרְשָׁעִיםre/sha/IMthe wickedיַחַדYA/chadtogetherאָנֹכִיa/no/KHIIעַד־אֶעֱבוֹר׃ad-e/e/VORuntil I pass by

    Let the wicked fall into their own nets, whilst that I withal escape.
