Proverbs 3 מִשְׁלֵי פרק ג׳

1. 1

   בְּנִיmy sonתּוֹרָתִיmy lawאַל־תִּשְׁכָּחdo not forgetוּמִצְוֺתַיand my commandmentsיִצֹּרlet it keepלִבֶּךָ׃your heart

   My son, forget not my law; but let thine heart keep my commandments:

2. 2

   כִּיforאֹרֶךְthe length ofיָמִיםdaysוּשְׁנוֹתand years ofחַיִּיםlifeוְשָׁלוֹםand peaceיוֹסִיפוּshall they addלָךְ׃to you

   For length of days, and long life, and peace, shall they add to thee.

3. 3

   חֶסֶדmercyוֶאֱמֶתand truthאַל־יַעַזְבֻךָlet them not forsake youקׇשְׁרֵםbind themעַל־גַּרְגְּרוֹתֶיךָupon your neckכׇּתְבֵםwrite themעַל־לוּחַupon the tablet ofלִבֶּךָ׃your heart

   Let not mercy and truth forsake thee: bind them about thy neck; write them upon the table of thine heart:

   וּמְצָא־חֵןand find favorוְשֵׂכֶל־טוֹבand insight goodבְּעֵינֵיin the eyes ofאֱלֹהִיםGodוְאָדָם׃and man

   So shalt thou find favour and good understanding in the sight of God and man.

5. 5

   בְּטַחtrustאֶל־יְהֹוָהto the LORDבְּכׇל־לִבֶּךָin all your heartוְאֶל־בִּינָתְךָand unto your own understandingאַל־תִּשָּׁעֵן׃do not lean

   Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.

6. 6

   בְּכׇל־דְּרָכֶיךָin all your waysדָעֵהוּacknowledge himוְהוּאand heיְיַשֵּׁרhe will make straightאֹרְחֹתֶיךָ׃your paths

   In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.

7. 7

   אַל־תְּהִיbe notחָכָםwiseבְּעֵינֶיךָin your eyesיְרָאfearאֶת־יְהֹוָהthe LORDוְסוּרand departמֵרָע׃from evil

   Be not wise in thine own eyes: fear the LORD, and depart from evil.

8. 8

   רִפְאוּתhealingתְּהִיlet it beלְשׇׁרֶּךָto your navelוְשִׁקּוּיand marrowלְעַצְמוֹתֶיךָ׃to your bones

   It shall be health to thy navel, and marrow to thy bones.

9. 9

   כַּבֵּדhonorאֶת־יְהֹוָהthe LORDמֵהוֹנֶךָfrom your wealthוּמֵרֵאשִׁיתand from the first ofכׇּל־תְּבוּאָתֶךָ׃all your produce

   Honour the LORD with thy substance, and with the firstfruits of all thine increase:

10. 10

    וְיִמָּלְאוּand be filled withאֲסָמֶיךָyour storehousesשָׂבָעplentyוְתִירוֹשׁand new wineיְקָבֶיךָyour wine vatsיִפְרֹצוּ׃they will burst open

    So shall thy barns be filled with plenty, and thy presses shall burst out with new wine.

11. 11

    מוּסַרthe discipline ofיְהֹוָהthe LORDבְּנִיmy sonאַל־תִּמְאָסdo not despiseוְאַל־תָּקֹץand be not weary ofבְּתוֹכַחְתּוֹ׃his rebuke

    My son, despise not the chastening of the LORD; neither be weary of his correction:

12. 12

    כִּיforאֶת־אֲשֶׁרthat whichיֶאֱהַבhe lovesיְהֹוָהthe LORDיוֹכִיחַhe reprovesוּכְאָבand like a fatherאֶת־בֵּןa sonיִרְצֶה׃he delights in

    For whom the LORD loveth he correcteth; even as a father the son in whom he delighteth.

13. 13

    אַשְׁרֵיblessed areאָדָםmanמָצָאfoundחׇכְמָהwisdomוְאָדָםand the manיָפִיקobtainsתְּבוּנָה׃understanding

    Happy is the man that findeth wisdom, and the man that getteth understanding.

14. 14

    כִּיforטוֹבgoodסַחְרָהּher profitמִסְּחַר־כָּסֶףthan the gain of silverוּמֵחָרוּץand than fine goldתְּבוּאָתָהּ׃her gain

    For the merchandise of it is better than the merchandise of silver, and the gain thereof than fine gold.

15. 15

    יְקָרָהpreciousהִיאit is[מִפְּנִינִים]than pearlsוְכׇל־חֲפָצֶיךָand all your pleasuresלֹאnotיִשְׁווּ־בָהּ׃they compare in her

    She is more precious than rubies: and all the things thou canst desire are not to be compared unto her.

16. 16

    אֹרֶךְthe length ofיָמִיםdaysבִּימִינָהּin her right handבִּשְׂמֹאולָהּin her left handעֹשֶׁרrichesוְכָבוֹד׃and glory

    Length of days is in her right hand; and in her left hand riches and honour.

17. 17

    דְּרָכֶיהָher waysדַרְכֵי־נֹעַםways of pleasantnessוְכׇל־נְתִיבוֹתֶיהָand all her pathwaysשָׁלוֹם׃peace

    Her ways are ways of pleasantness, and all her paths are peace.

18. 18

    עֵץ־חַיִּיםa tree of lifeהִיאit isלַמַּחֲזִיקִיםto the ones who take holdבָּהּin itוְתֹמְכֶיהָand those who hold fast to herמְאֻשָּׁר׃is happy

    She is a tree of life to them that lay hold upon her: and happy is every one that retaineth her.

19. 19

    יְהֹוָהthe LORDבְּחׇכְמָהin wisdomיָסַד־אָרֶץHe founded the earthכּוֹנֵןHe establishedשָׁמַיִםthe heavensבִּתְבוּנָה׃with understanding

    The LORD by wisdom hath founded the earth; by understanding hath he established the heavens.

20. 20

    בְּדַעְתּוֹby His knowledgeתְּהוֹמוֹתthe deepsנִבְקָעוּwere broken upוּשְׁחָקִיםand cloudsיִרְעֲפוּ־טָל׃they drip dew

    By his knowledge the depths are broken up, and the clouds drop down the dew.

21. 21

    בְּנִיmy sonאַל־יָלֻזוּlet them not departמֵעֵינֶיךָfrom your eyesנְצֹרkeepתֻּשִׁיָּהsound wisdomוּמְזִמָּה׃and discretion

    My son, let not them depart from thine eyes: keep sound wisdom and discretion:

22. 22

    וְיִהְיוּand they shall beחַיִּיםlifeלְנַפְשֶׁךָfor your selfוְחֵןand grace ofלְגַרְגְּרֹתֶיךָ׃for your neck

    So shall they be life unto thy soul, and grace to thy neck.

23. 23

    אָזthenתֵּלֵךְyou shall walkלָבֶטַחin safetyדַּרְכֶּךָyour wayוְרַגְלְךָand your footלֹאnotתִגּוֹף׃it will strike

    Then shalt thou walk in thy way safely, and thy foot shall not stumble.

24. 24

    אִם־תִּשְׁכַּבwhen you lie downלֹא־תִפְחָדnot you will fearוְשָׁכַבְתָּand you will lie downוְעָרְבָהand it will be pleasingשְׁנָתֶךָ׃your sleep

    When thou liest down, thou shalt not be afraid: yea, thou shalt lie down, and thy sleep shall be sweet.

25. 25

    אַל־תִּירָאbe not afraidמִפַּחַדfrom fearפִּתְאֹםsuddenlyוּמִשֹּׁאַתand from the devastation ofרְשָׁעִיםwicked menכִּיbecauseתָבֹא׃it comes

    Be not afraid of sudden fear, neither of the desolation of the wicked, when it cometh.

26. 26

    כִּי־יְהֹוָהfor the LORDיִהְיֶהshall beבְכִסְלֶךָyour confidenceוְשָׁמַרand keptרַגְלְךָyour footמִלָּכֶד׃from capture

    For the LORD shall be thy confidence, and shall keep thy foot from being taken.

27. 27

    אַל־תִּמְנַע־טוֹבdo not withhold goodמִבְּעָלָיוfrom its ownersבִּהְיוֹתwhile wasלְאֵלin the power of(ידיך)[יָדְךָ]your handלַעֲשׂוֹת׃to do

    Withhold not good from them to whom it is due, when it is in the power of thine hand to do it.

28. 28

    אַל־תֹּאמַרdo not say(לרעיך)[לְרֵעֲךָ]to your neighborלֵךְgoוָשׁוּבand come backוּמָחָרand on the morrowאֶתֵּןI will giveוְיֵשׁand there wasאִתָּךְ׃with you

    Say not unto thy neighbour, Go, and come again, and to morrow I will give; when thou hast it by thee.

29. 29

    אַל־תַּחֲרֹשׁdo not deviseעַל־רֵעֲךָupon your neighborרָעָהevilוְהוּא־יוֹשֵׁבand he dwellsלָבֶטַחin safetyאִתָּךְ׃with you

    Devise not evil against thy neighbour, seeing he dwelleth securely by thee.

30. 30

    אַל־[תָּרִיב]do not striveעִם־אָדָםwith manחִנָּםwithout causeאִם־לֹאif notגְמָלְךָhe has dealt out to youרָעָה׃evil

    Strive not with a man without cause, if he have done thee no harm.

31. 31

    אַל־תְּקַנֵּאdo not envyבְּאִישׁthe man ofחָמָסviolenceוְאַל־תִּבְחַרand do not chooseבְּכׇל־דְּרָכָיו׃in all his ways

    Envy thou not the oppressor, and choose none of his ways.

32. 32

    כִּיforתוֹעֲבַתthe abomination ofיְהֹוָהthe LORDנָלוֹזthe frowardוְאֶת־יְשָׁרִיםand with the uprightסוֹדוֹ׃His counsel

    For the froward is abomination to the LORD: but his secret is with the righteous.

33. 33

    מְאֵרַתthe curse ofיְהֹוָהthe LORDבְּבֵיתin the house ofרָשָׁעwickedוּנְוֵהand the habitation ofצַדִּיקִיםthe righteousיְבָרֵךְ׃He blesses

    The curse of the LORD is in the house of the wicked: but he blesseth the habitation of the just.

34. 34

    אִם־לַלֵּצִיםsurely the scornersהוּא־יָלִיץhe scorns(ולעניים)[וְלַעֲנָוִים]and to the meekיִתֶּן־חֵן׃he will give favor

    Surely he scorneth the scorners: but he giveth grace unto the lowly.

35. 35

    כָּבוֹדgloryחֲכָמִיםthe wiseיִנְחָלוּthey will inheritוּכְסִילִיםand foolsמֵרִיםexaltsקָלוֹן׃shame

    The wise shall inherit glory: but shame shall be the promotion of fools.
