Proverbs 2 מִשְׁלֵי פרק ב׳

1. 1

   בְּנִיmy sonאִם־תִּקַּחif you shall takeאֲמָרָיmy wordsוּמִצְוֺתַיand my commandmentsתִּצְפֹּןyou shall hideאִתָּךְ׃with you

   My son, if thou wilt receive my words, and hide my commandments with thee;

2. 2

   לְהַקְשִׁיבto give heedלַחׇכְמָהto the wisdomאׇזְנֶךָyour earתַּטֶּהyou will inclineלִבְּךָyour heartלַתְּבוּנָה׃to the understanding

   So that thou incline thine ear unto wisdom, and apply thine heart to understanding;

   כִּיforאִםifלַבִּינָהto the understandingתִקְרָאyou will callלַתְּבוּנָהto the understandingתִּתֵּןyou shall giveקוֹלֶךָ׃your voice

   Yea, if thou criest after knowledge, and liftest up thy voice for understanding;

4. 4

   אִם־תְּבַקְשֶׁנָּהif you sought itכַכָּסֶףlike the silverוְכַמַּטְמוֹנִיםand like the treasuresתַּחְפְּשֶׂנָּה׃you will search for it

   If thou seekest her as silver, and searchest for her as for hid treasures;

   אָזthenתָּבִיןyou will understandיִרְאַתthe fear ofיְהֹוָהthe LORDוְדַעַתand knowledgeאֱלֹהִיםGodתִּמְצָא׃you will find

   Then shalt thou understand the fear of the LORD, and find the knowledge of God.

6. 6

   כִּי־יְהֹוָהfor the LORDיִתֵּןshall giveחׇכְמָהwisdomמִפִּיוout of His mouthדַּעַתknowledgeוּתְבוּנָה׃and understanding

   For the LORD giveth wisdom: out of his mouth cometh knowledge and understanding.

7. 7

   [יִצְפֹּן]he lays upלַיְשָׁרִיםfor the uprightתּוּשִׁיָּהsuccessמָגֵןa shieldלְהֹלְכֵיto those who walk ofתֹם׃integrity

   He layeth up sound wisdom for the righteous: he is a buckler to them that walk uprightly.

8. 8

   לִנְצֹרto guardאׇרְחוֹתthe paths ofמִשְׁפָּטjudgmentוְדֶרֶךְand the way ofחֲסִידָוHis pious onesיִשְׁמֹר׃He preserves

   He keepeth the paths of judgment, and preserveth the way of his saints.

9. 9

   אָזthenתָּבִיןyou will understandצֶדֶקrighteousnessוּמִשְׁפָּטand judgmentוּמֵישָׁרִיםand equityכׇּל־מַעְגַּל־טוֹב׃every path good

   Then shalt thou understand righteousness, and judgment, and equity; yea, every good path.

10. 10

    כִּי־תָבוֹאfor shall enterחׇכְמָהwisdomבְלִבֶּךָin your heartוְדַעַתand knowledgeלְנַפְשְׁךָto your selfיִנְעָם׃it will be pleasant

    When wisdom entereth into thine heart, and knowledge is pleasant unto thy soul;

11. 11

    מְזִמָּהdiscretionתִּשְׁמֹרshall preserveעָלֶיךָupon youתְּבוּנָהunderstandingתִנְצְרֶכָּה׃it will preserve you

    Discretion shall preserve thee, understanding shall keep thee:

12. 12

    לְהַצִּילְךָto deliver youמִדֶּרֶךְfrom the way ofרָעevilמֵאִישׁfrom the manמְדַבֵּרwho speaksתַּהְפֻּכוֹת׃perverse things

    To deliver thee from the way of the evil man, from the man that speaketh froward things;

13. 13

    הַעֹזְבִיםthose who leaveאׇרְחוֹתthe paths ofיֹשֶׁרuprightnessלָלֶכֶתto goבְּדַרְכֵי־חֹשֶׁךְ׃in the ways of darkness

    Who leave the paths of uprightness, to walk in the ways of darkness;

14. 14

    הַשְּׂמֵחִיםthose who rejoiceלַעֲשׂוֹתto doרָעevilיָגִילוּthey might rejoiceבְּתַהְפֻּכוֹתin the perverseness ofרָע׃evil

    Who rejoice to do evil, and delight in the frowardness of the wicked;

15. 15

    אֲשֶׁרwhichאׇרְחֹתֵיהֶםtheir pathsעִקְּשִׁיםare crookedוּנְלוֹזִיםand they are frowardבְּמַעְגְּלוֹתָם׃in their circuit

    Whose ways are crooked, and they froward in their paths:

16. 16

    לְהַצִּילְךָto deliver youמֵאִשָּׁהfrom a womanזָרָהstrangeמִנׇּכְרִיָּהfrom a foreign womanאֲמָרֶיהָher wordsהֶחֱלִיקָה׃she makes smooth

    To deliver thee from the strange woman, even from the stranger which flattereth with her words;

17. 17

    הַעֹזֶבֶתwho leavesאַלּוּףthe guide ofנְעוּרֶיהָher youthוְאֶת־בְּרִיתand covenant ofאֱלֹהֶיהָher Godשָׁכֵחָה׃she forgets

    Which forsaketh the guide of her youth, and forgetteth the covenant of her God.

18. 18

    כִּיforשָׁחָהit has sunk downאֶל־מָוֶתto deathבֵּיתָהּher houseוְאֶל־רְפָאִיםand unto the deadמַעְגְּלֹתֶיהָ׃her tracks

    For her house inclineth unto death, and her paths unto the dead.

19. 19

    כׇּל־בָּאֶיהָall those who go to herלֹאnotיְשׁוּבוּןthey will turn backוְלֹא־יַשִּׂיגוּand not they obtainאׇרְחוֹתthe paths ofחַיִּים׃life

    None that go unto her return again, neither take they hold of the paths of life.

20. 20

    לְמַעַןin order thatתֵּלֵךְyou may walkבְּדֶרֶךְby the way ofטוֹבִיםgoodוְאׇרְחוֹתand the paths ofצַדִּיקִיםthe righteousתִּשְׁמֹר׃you keep

    That thou mayest walk in the way of good men, and keep the paths of the righteous.

21. 21

    כִּי־יְשָׁרִיםfor the uprightיִשְׁכְּנוּ־אָרֶץshall dwell the landוּתְמִימִיםand blamelessיִוָּתְרוּthey will remainבָהּ׃in it

    For the upright shall dwell in the land, and the perfect shall remain in it.

22. 22

    וּרְשָׁעִיםand wicked menמֵאֶרֶץfrom the earthיִכָּרֵתוּshall be cut offוּבוֹגְדִיםand treacherous peopleיִסְּחוּthey will be torn awayמִמֶּנָּה׃from it

    But the wicked shall be cut off from the earth, and the transgressors shall be rooted out of it.
