Proverbs 2 מִשְׁלֵי פרק ב׳

1. 1

   בְּנִיbe/NImy sonאִם־תִּקַּחim-tik/KACHif you receiveאֲמָרָיa/ma/RAYmy wordsוּמִצְוֺתַיu/mits/vo/TAYand my commandmentsתִּצְפֹּןtits/PONand treasure upאִתָּךְ׃it/TAKHwith you

   My son, if thou wilt receive my words, and hide my commandments with thee;

2. 2

   לְהַקְשִׁיבle/hak/SHIVto give heedלַחׇכְמָהla/chokh/MAto wisdomאׇזְנֶךָoz/NE/khayour earתַּטֶּהtat/TEand inclineלִבְּךָlib/be/KHAyour heartלַתְּבוּנָה׃lat/te/vu/NAto understanding

   So that thou incline thine ear unto wisdom, and apply thine heart to understanding;

   כִּיkiyesאִםimifלַבִּינָהlab/bi/NAfor understandingתִקְרָאtik/RAyou call outלַתְּבוּנָהlat/te/vu/NAfor discernmentתִּתֵּןtit/TENyou liftקוֹלֶךָ׃ko/LE/khayour voice

   Yea, if thou criest after knowledge, and liftest up thy voice for understanding;

   אִם־תְּבַקְשֶׁנָּהim-te/vak/SHEN/naif you seek itכַכָּסֶףkhak/KA/sefas silverוְכַמַּטְמוֹנִיםve/kham/mat/mo/NIMand as hidden treasuresתַּחְפְּשֶׂנָּה׃tach/pe/SEN/nayou will search for it

   If thou seekest her as silver, and searchest for her as for hid treasures;

   אָזazthenתָּבִיןta/VINyou will understandיִרְאַתyir/ATthe fear ofיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDוְדַעַתve/DA/atand knowledgeאֱלֹהִיםe/lo/HIMof Godתִּמְצָא׃tim/TSAyou will find

   Then shalt thou understand the fear of the LORD, and find the knowledge of God.

   כִּי־יְהֹוָהki-Adonaifor the LORDיִתֵּןyit/TENgivesחׇכְמָהchokh/MAwisdomמִפִּיוmip/PIVout of His mouthדַּעַתDA/atknowledgeוּתְבוּנָה׃u/te/vu/NAand understanding

   For the LORD giveth wisdom: out of his mouth cometh knowledge and understanding.

   [יִצְפֹּן]yits/PONHe stores upלַיְשָׁרִיםlay/sha/RIMfor the uprightתּוּשִׁיָּהtu/shiy/YAsound wisdomמָגֵןma/GENa shieldלְהֹלְכֵיle/HOL/khefor those who walk inתֹם׃tomintegrity

   He layeth up sound wisdom for the righteous: he is a buckler to them that walk uprightly.

8. 8

   לִנְצֹרlin/TSORguardingאׇרְחוֹתor/CHOTthe paths ofמִשְׁפָּטmish/PATjusticeוְדֶרֶךְve/DE/rekhand the way ofחֲסִידָוcha/si/DAVHis faithful onesיִשְׁמֹר׃yish/MORHe preserves

   He keepeth the paths of judgment, and preserveth the way of his saints.

9. 9

   אָזazthenתָּבִיןta/VINyou will understandצֶדֶקTSE/dekrighteousnessוּמִשְׁפָּטu/mish/PATand justiceוּמֵישָׁרִיםu/me/sha/RIMand equityכׇּל־מַעְגַּל־טוֹב׃kol-ma/GAL-tovevery good path

   Then shalt thou understand righteousness, and judgment, and equity; yea, every good path.

10. 10

    כִּי־תָבוֹאki-ta/VOfor will enterחׇכְמָהchokh/MAwisdomבְלִבֶּךָve/lib/BE/khain your heartוְדַעַתve/DA/atand knowledgeלְנַפְשְׁךָle/naf/she/KHAto your soulיִנְעָם׃yin/AMit will be pleasant

    When wisdom entereth into thine heart, and knowledge is pleasant unto thy soul;

11. 11

    מְזִמָּהme/zim/MAdiscretionתִּשְׁמֹרtish/MORwill guardעָלֶיךָa/LE/khayouתְּבוּנָהte/vu/NAunderstandingתִנְצְרֶכָּה׃tin/tse/REK/kawill keep you

    Discretion shall preserve thee, understanding shall keep thee:

12. 12

    לְהַצִּילְךָle/hats/TSI/le/khato deliver youמִדֶּרֶךְmid/DE/rekhfrom the way ofרָעraevilמֵאִישׁme/ISHfrom the manמְדַבֵּרme/dab/BERwho speaksתַּהְפֻּכוֹת׃tah/pu/KHOTperverse things

    To deliver thee from the way of the evil man, from the man that speaketh froward things;

13. 13

    הַעֹזְבִיםha/OZ/vimthose who leaveאׇרְחוֹתor/CHOTthe paths ofיֹשֶׁרYO/sheruprightnessלָלֶכֶתla/LE/khetto goבְּדַרְכֵי־חֹשֶׁךְ׃be/dar/KHE-CHO/shekhin the ways of darkness

    Who leave the paths of uprightness, to walk in the ways of darkness;

14. 14

    הַשְּׂמֵחִיםhas/se/me/CHIMthose who rejoiceלַעֲשׂוֹתla/a/SOTto doרָעraevilיָגִילוּya/GI/luwho delightבְּתַהְפֻּכוֹתbe/tah/pu/KHOTin the perverseness ofרָע׃raevil

    Who rejoice to do evil, and delight in the frowardness of the wicked;

15. 15

    אֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhoseאׇרְחֹתֵיהֶםor/cho/te/HEMtheir pathsעִקְּשִׁיםik/ke/SHIMare crookedוּנְלוֹזִיםu/ne/lo/ZIMand who are deviousבְּמַעְגְּלוֹתָם׃be/ma/ge/lo/TAMin their circuit

    Whose ways are crooked, and they froward in their paths:

16. 16

    לְהַצִּילְךָle/hats/TSI/le/khato deliver youמֵאִשָּׁהme/ish/SHAfrom a womanזָרָהza/RAstrangeמִנׇּכְרִיָּהmin/nokh/riy/YAfrom a foreign womanאֲמָרֶיהָa/ma/RE/haher wordsהֶחֱלִיקָה׃he/che/LI/kashe makes smooth

    To deliver thee from the strange woman, even from the stranger which flattereth with her words;

17. 17

    הַעֹזֶבֶתha/o/ZE/vetwho leavesאַלּוּףal/LUFthe companion ofנְעוּרֶיהָne/u/RE/haher youthוְאֶת־בְּרִיתve/ET-be/RITand the covenant ofאֱלֹהֶיהָe/lo/HE/haher Godשָׁכֵחָה׃sha/KHE/chashe forgets

    Which forsaketh the guide of her youth, and forgetteth the covenant of her God.

18. 18

    כִּיkiforשָׁחָהSHA/chasinks downאֶל־מָוֶתel-MA/vetto deathבֵּיתָהּbe/TAher houseוְאֶל־רְפָאִיםve/EL-re/fa/IMand to the deadמַעְגְּלֹתֶיהָ׃ma/ge/lo/TE/haher tracks

    For her house inclineth unto death, and her paths unto the dead.

19. 19

    כׇּל־בָּאֶיהָkol-ba/e/HAall who go to herלֹאlonotיְשׁוּבוּןye/shu/VUNreturnוְלֹא־יַשִּׂיגוּve/LO-yas/SI/gunor do they reachאׇרְחוֹתor/CHOTthe paths ofחַיִּים׃chay/YIMlife

    None that go unto her return again, neither take they hold of the paths of life.

20. 20

    לְמַעַןle/MA/anso thatתֵּלֵךְte/LEKHyou may walkבְּדֶרֶךְbe/DE/rekhby the way ofטוֹבִיםto/VIMgood menוְאׇרְחוֹתve/or/CHOTand the paths ofצַדִּיקִיםtsad/di/KIMthe righteousתִּשְׁמֹר׃tish/MORyou keep

    That thou mayest walk in the way of good men, and keep the paths of the righteous.

21. 21

    כִּי־יְשָׁרִיםki-ye/sha/RIMfor the uprightיִשְׁכְּנוּ־אָרֶץyish/ke/NU-A/retswill dwell in the landוּתְמִימִיםu/te/mi/MIMand the blamelessיִוָּתְרוּyiv/VAT/ruthey will remainבָהּ׃vain it

    For the upright shall dwell in the land, and the perfect shall remain in it.

22. 22

    וּרְשָׁעִיםu/re/sha/IMbut the wickedמֵאֶרֶץme/E/retsfrom the landיִכָּרֵתוּyik/ka/RE/tushall be cut offוּבוֹגְדִיםu/vog/DIMand the treacherousיִסְּחוּyis/se/CHUwill be uprootedמִמֶּנָּה׃mim/MEN/nafrom it

    But the wicked shall be cut off from the earth, and the transgressors shall be rooted out of it.
