    And when Balaam saw that it pleased the LORD to bless Israel, he went not, as at other times, to seek for enchantments, but he set his face toward the wilderness.

    וַיִּשָּׂאvay/yis/SAand lifted upבִלְעָםVil/AMBalaamאֶת־עֵינָיוet-e/NAYVhis eyesוַיַּרְאvay/YARand sawאֶת־יִשְׂרָאֵלet-Yis/ra/ELIsraelשֹׁכֵןsho/KHENabidingלִשְׁבָטָיוlish/va/TAYVaccording to its tribesוַתְּהִיvat/te/HIand cameעָלָיוa/LAYVupon himרוּחַRU/achthe spirit ofאֱלֹהִים׃e/lo/HIMGod

    And Balaam lifted up his eyes, and he saw Israel abiding in his tents according to their tribes; and the spirit of God came upon him.

    וַיִּשָּׂאvay/yis/SAand he took upמְשָׁלוֹme/sha/LOhis oracleוַיֹּאמַרvay/yo/MARand saidנְאֻםne/UMsaysבִּלְעָםBil/AMBalaamבְּנוֹbe/NOson ofבְעֹרVe/ORBeorוּנְאֻםu/ne/UMand saysהַגֶּבֶרhag/GE/verthe manשְׁתֻםshe/TUMopen ofהָעָיִן׃ha/A/yineye

    And he took up his parable, and said, Balaam the son of Beor hath said, and the man whose eyes are open hath said:

    נְאֻםne/UMsaysשֹׁמֵעַsho/ME/ahe who hearsאִמְרֵי־אֵלim/RE-elthe words of Godאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhoמַחֲזֵהma/cha/ZEthe vision ofשַׁדַּיShad/DAYthe Almightyיֶחֱזֶהye/che/ZEseesנֹפֵלno/FELfallingוּגְלוּיu/ge/LUYand having uncoveredעֵינָיִם׃e/NA/yimeyes

    He hath said, which heard the words of God, which saw the vision of the Almighty, falling into a trance, but having his eyes open:

    מַה־טֹּבוּma-TO/vuhow goodly areאֹהָלֶיךָo/ha/LE/khayour tentsיַעֲקֹבYa/a/KOVO Jacobמִשְׁכְּנֹתֶיךָmish/ke/no/TE/khayour dwellingsיִשְׂרָאֵל׃Yis/ra/ELO Israel

    How goodly are thy tents, O Jacob, and thy tabernacles, O Israel!

    כִּנְחָלִיםkin/cha/LIMas valleysנִטָּיוּnit/TA/yuare they spread forthכְּגַנֹּתke/gan/NOTas gardensעֲלֵיa/LEbyנָהָרna/HARa riverכַּאֲהָלִיםka/a/ha/LIMas aloesנָטַעna/TAhas plantedיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDכַּאֲרָזִיםka/a/ra/ZIMas cedarsעֲלֵי־מָיִם׃a/LE-MA/yimbeside waters

    As the valleys are they spread forth, as gardens by the river's side, as the trees of lign aloes which the LORD hath planted, and as cedar trees beside the waters.

    יִזַּל־מַיִםyiz/ZAL-MA/yimwater shall flowמִדָּלְיָוmid/da/le/YAVfrom his bucketsוְזַרְעוֹve/zar/Oand his seed shall beבְּמַיִםbe/MA/yimin watersרַבִּיםrab/BIMmanyוְיָרֹםve/ya/ROMand shall be higherמֵאֲגַגme/A/GAGmore than Agagמַלְכּוֹmal/KOhis kingוְתִנַּשֵּׂאve/tin/nas/SEand shall be exaltedמַלְכֻתוֹ׃mal/khu/TOhis kingdom

    He shall pour the water out of his buckets, and his seed shall be in many waters, and his king shall be higher than Agag, and his kingdom shall be exalted.

    אֵלelGodמוֹצִיאוֹmo/tsi/Obrought him outמִמִּצְרַיִםmim/Mits/RA/yimout of Egyptכְּתוֹעֲפֹתke/to/a/FOTlike the horns ofרְאֵםre/EMthe wild oxלוֹlohe hasיֹאכַלyo/KHALhe shall eat upגּוֹיִםgo/YIMnationsצָרָיוtsa/RAYVhis adversariesוְעַצְמֹתֵיהֶםve/ats/mo/te/HEMand their bonesיְגָרֵםye/ga/REMshall breakוְחִצָּיוve/chits/TSAYVand his arrowsיִמְחָץ׃yim/CHATSpierce them through

    God brought him forth out of Egypt; he hath as it were the strength of an unicorn: he shall eat up the nations his enemies, and shall break their bones, and pierce them through with his arrows.

    כָּרַעka/RAhe crouchedשָׁכַבsha/KHAVhe lay downכַּאֲרִיka/a/RIas a lionוּכְלָבִיאu/khe/la/VIand as a lionessמִיmiwhoיְקִימֶנּוּye/ki/MEN/nushall rouse himמְבָרְכֶיךָme/va/re/KHE/khathose who bless youבָרוּךְva/RUKHare blessedוְאֹרְרֶיךָve/or/RE/khaand those who curse youאָרוּר׃a/RURare cursed

    He couched, he lay down as a lion, and as a great lion: who shall stir him up? Blessed is he that blesseth thee, and cursed is he that curseth thee.

    וַיִּחַר־אַףvay/YI/char-afand was kindled the anger ofבָּלָקBa/LAKBalakאֶל־בִּלְעָםel-Bil/AMagainst Balaamוַיִּסְפֹּקvay/yis/POKand he struckאֶת־כַּפָּיוet-kap/PAYVhis palmsוַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand saidבָּלָקBa/LAKBalakאֶל־בִּלְעָםel-Bil/AMagainst Balaamלָקֹבla/KOVto curseאֹיְבַיoy/VAYmy enemiesקְרָאתִיךָke/ra/TI/khaI called youוְהִנֵּהve/hin/NEand beholdבֵּרַכְתָּbe/RAKH/tayou have blessedבָרֵךְva/REKHblessזֶהzetheseשָׁלֹשׁsha/LOSHthreeפְּעָמִים׃pe/a/MIMtimes

    And Balak's anger was kindled against Balaam, and he smote his hands together: and Balak said unto Balaam, I called thee to curse mine enemies, and, behold, thou hast altogether blessed them these three times.

    וְעַתָּהve/at/TAand nowבְּרַח־לְךָbe/RACH-le/KHAfleeאֶל־מְקוֹמֶךָel-me/ko/ME/khato your placeאָמַרְתִּיa/MAR/tiI saidכַּבֵּדkab/BEDhonorאֲכַבֶּדְךָa/khab/bed/KHAI will honor youוְהִנֵּהve/hin/NEand beholdמְנָעֲךָme/na/a/KHAhas kept you backיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDמִכָּבוֹד׃mik/ka/VODfrom honor

    Therefore now flee thou to thy place: I thought to promote thee unto great honour; but, lo, the LORD hath kept thee back from honour.

    וַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand saidבִּלְעָםBil/AMBalaamאֶל־בָּלָקel-Ba/LAKto Balakהֲלֹאha/LOdid notגַּםgamevenאֶל־מַלְאָכֶיךָel-mal/a/KHE/khato your messengersאֲשֶׁר־שָׁלַחְתָּa/SHER-sha/LACH/tawhom you sentאֵלַיe/LAYto meדִּבַּרְתִּיdib/BAR/tiI speakלֵאמֹר׃le/MORsaying

    And Balaam said unto Balak, Spake I not also to thy messengers which thou sentest unto me, saying,

    אִם־יִתֶּן־לִיim-yit/TEN-liif would give meבָלָקVa/LAKBalakמְלֹאme/LOthe fullness ofבֵיתוֹve/TOhis houseכֶּסֶףKE/sefsilverוְזָהָבve/za/HAVand goldלֹאlonotאוּכַלu/KHALI canלַעֲבֹרla/a/VORgo beyondאֶת־פִּיet-pithe word ofיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDלַעֲשׂוֹתla/a/SOTto doטוֹבָהto/VAgoodאוֹoorרָעָהra/Abadמִלִּבִּיmil/lib/BIof my own heartאֲשֶׁר־יְדַבֵּרa/SHER-ye/dab/BERwhat speaksיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDאֹתוֹo/TOthatאֲדַבֵּר׃a/dab/BERwill I speak

    If Balak would give me his house full of silver and gold, I cannot go beyond the commandment of the LORD, to do either good or bad of mine own mind; but what the LORD saith, that will I speak?

  14. 14

    וְעַתָּהve/at/TAand nowהִנְנִיhin/NIbehold Iהוֹלֵךְho/LEKHam goingלְעַמִּיle/am/MIto my peopleלְכָהle/KHAcomeאִיעָצְךָi/a/tse/KHAI will advise youאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhatיַעֲשֶׂהya/a/SEwill doהָעָםha/AMthe peopleהַזֶּהhaz/ZEthisלְעַמְּךָle/am/me/KHAto your peopleבְּאַחֲרִיתbe/a/cha/RITin the latterהַיָּמִים׃hay/ya/MIMdays

    And now, behold, I go unto my people: come therefore, and I will advertise thee what this people shall do to thy people in the latter days.

    וַיִּשָּׂאvay/yis/SAand he took upמְשָׁלוֹme/sha/LOhis oracleוַיֹּאמַרvay/yo/MARand saidנְאֻםne/UMsaysבִּלְעָםBil/AMBalaamבְּנוֹbe/NOson ofבְעֹרVe/ORBeorוּנְאֻםu/ne/UMand saysהַגֶּבֶרhag/GE/verthe manשְׁתֻםshe/TUMopen ofהָעָיִן׃ha/A/yineye

    And he took up his parable, and said, Balaam the son of Beor hath said, and the man whose eyes are open hath said:

  16. 16

    נְאֻםne/UMsaysשֹׁמֵעַsho/ME/ahe who hearsאִמְרֵי־אֵלim/RE-elthe words of Godוְיֹדֵעַve/yo/DE/aand knowsדַּעַתDA/atthe knowledge ofעֶלְיוֹןEl/YONthe Most Highמַחֲזֵהma/cha/ZEthe vision ofשַׁדַּיShad/DAYthe Almightyיֶחֱזֶהye/che/ZEseesנֹפֵלno/FELfallingוּגְלוּיu/ge/LUYand having uncoveredעֵינָיִם׃e/NA/yimeyes

    He hath said, which heard the words of God, and knew the knowledge of the most High, which saw the vision of the Almighty, falling into a trance, but having his eyes open:

  17. 17

    אֶרְאֶנּוּer/EN/nuI see himוְלֹאve/LObut notעַתָּהat/TAnowאֲשׁוּרֶנּוּa/shu/REN/nuI behold himוְלֹאve/LObut notקָרוֹבka/ROVnearדָּרַךְda/RAKHshall comeכּוֹכָבko/KHAVa starמִיַּעֲקֹבmiy/Ya/a/KOVout of Jacobוְקָםve/KAMand shall riseשֵׁבֶטSHE/veta scepterמִיִּשְׂרָאֵלmiy/Yis/ra/ELout of Israelוּמָחַץu/MA/chatsand shall smiteפַּאֲתֵיpa/a/TEthe corners ofמוֹאָבMo/AVMoabוְקַרְקַרve/kar/KARand destroyכׇּל־בְּנֵי־שֵׁת׃kol-Be/NE-shetall the children of Sheth

    I shall see him, but not now: I shall behold him, but not nigh: there shall come a Star out of Jacob, and a Sceptre shall rise out of Israel, and shall smite the corners of Moab, and destroy all the children of Sheth.

    וְהָיָהve/ha/YAand shall beאֱדוֹםE/DOMEdomיְרֵשָׁהye/re/SHAa possessionוְהָיָהve/ha/YAand shall beיְרֵשָׁהye/re/SHAa possessionשֵׂעִירSe/IRSeirאֹיְבָיוoy/VAYVhis enemiesוְיִשְׂרָאֵלve/Yis/ra/ELand Israelעֹשֶׂהo/SEshall doחָיִל׃CHA/yilvaliantly

    And Edom shall be a possession, Seir also shall be a possession for his enemies; and Israel shall do valiantly.

  19. 19

    וְיֵרְדְּve/YERDand shall have dominionמִיַּעֲקֹבmiy/Ya/a/KOVone out of Jacobוְהֶאֱבִידve/he/e/VIDand shall destroyשָׂרִידsa/RIDhim who remainsמֵעִיר׃me/IRof the city

    Out of Jacob shall come he that shall have dominion, and shall destroy him that remaineth of the city.

  20. 20

    וַיַּרְאvay/YARand sawאֶת־עֲמָלֵקet-A/ma/LEKAmalekוַיִּשָּׂאvay/yis/SAand he took upמְשָׁלוֹme/sha/LOhis oracleוַיֹּאמַרvay/yo/MARand saidרֵאשִׁיתre/SHITthe first ofגּוֹיִםgo/YIMthe nationsעֲמָלֵקA/ma/LEKAmalekוְאַחֲרִיתוֹve/a/cha/ri/TObut his endעֲדֵיa/DEshall be toאֹבֵד׃o/VEDdestruction

    And when he looked on Amalek, he took up his parable, and said, Amalek was the first of the nations; but his latter end shall be that he perish for ever.

  21. 21

    וַיַּרְאvay/YARand sawאֶת־הַקֵּינִיet-Hak/ke/NIthe Kenitesוַיִּשָּׂאvay/yis/SAand he took upמְשָׁלוֹme/sha/LOhis oracleוַיֹּאמַרvay/yo/MARand saidאֵיתָןe/TANstrongמוֹשָׁבֶךָmo/sha/VE/khais your dwellingוְשִׂיםve/SIMand you putבַּסֶּלַעbas/SE/lain the rockקִנֶּךָ׃kin/NE/khayour nest

    And he looked on the Kenites, and took up his parable, and said, Strong is thy dwellingplace, and thou puttest thy nest in a rock.

  22. 22

    כִּיkineverthelessאִם־יִהְיֶהim-yih/YEshall beלְבָעֵרle/va/ERwastedקָיִןKA/yinKainעַד־מָהad-mahow longאַשּׁוּרAsh/SHURAssyriaתִּשְׁבֶּךָּ׃tish/BEK/kashall carry you captive

    Nevertheless the Kenite shall be wasted, until Asshur shall carry thee away captive.

  23. 23

    וַיִּשָּׂאvay/yis/SAand he took upמְשָׁלוֹme/sha/LOhis oracleוַיֹּאמַרvay/yo/MARand saidאוֹיoyalasמִיmiwhoיִחְיֶהyich/YEshall liveמִשֻּׂמוֹmis/su/MOwhen does thisאֵל׃elGod

    And he took up his parable, and said, Alas, who shall live when God doeth this!

  24. 24

    וְצִיםve/TSIMand shipsמִיַּדmiy/YADfrom the side ofכִּתִּיםKit/TIMKittimוְעִנּוּve/in/NUand shall afflictאַשּׁוּרAsh/SHURAssyriaוְעִנּוּ־עֵבֶרve/In/NU-E/verand shall afflict Eberוְגַם־הוּאve/GAM-huand he alsoעֲדֵיa/DEshall be toאֹבֵד׃o/VEDdestruction

    And ships shall come from the coast of Chittim, and shall afflict Asshur, and shall afflict Eber, and he also shall perish for ever.

  25. 25

    וַיָּקׇםvay/YA/komand roseבִּלְעָםBil/AMBalaamוַיֵּלֶךְvay/YE/lekhand wentוַיָּשׇׁבvay/YA/shovand returnedלִמְקֹמוֹlim/ko/MOto his placeוְגַם־בָּלָקve/GAM-ba/LAKand also Balakהָלַךְha/LAKHwentלְדַרְכּוֹ׃le/dar/KOhis way

    And Balaam rose up, and went and returned to his place: and Balak also went his way.
