   Now in the twenty and fourth day of this month the children of Israel were assembled with fasting, and with sackclothes, and earth upon them.

   וַיִּבָּדְלוּvay/yib/ba/de/LUand separated themselvesזֶרַעZE/rathe seed ofיִשְׂרָאֵלYis/ra/ELIsraelמִכֹּלmik/KOLfrom allבְּנֵיbe/NEthe sons ofנֵכָרne/KHARforeignersוַיַּעַמְדוּvay/ya/am/DUand stoodוַיִּתְוַדּוּvay/yit/vad/DUand confessedעַל־חַטֹּאתֵיהֶםal-chat/to/te/HEMtheir sinsוַעֲוֺנוֹתva/a/vo/NOTand the iniquities ofאֲבֹתֵיהֶם׃a/vo/te/HEMtheir fathers

   And the seed of Israel separated themselves from all strangers, and stood and confessed their sins, and the iniquities of their fathers.

   וַיָּקוּמוּvay/ya/KU/muand they stood upעַל־עׇמְדָםal-om/DAMin their placeוַיִּקְרְאוּvay/yik/re/Uand readבְּסֵפֶרbe/SE/ferin the book ofתּוֹרַתto/RATthe law ofיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDאֱלֹהֵיהֶםe/lo/he/HEMtheir Godרְבִעִיתre/vi/ITa fourth part ofהַיּוֹםhay/YOMthe dayוּרְבִעִיתu/re/vi/ITand a fourthמִתְוַדִּיםmit/vad/DIMthey confessedוּמִשְׁתַּחֲוִיםu/mish/ta/cha/VIMand worshipedלַיהֹוָהla-Adonaito the LORDאֱלֹהֵיהֶם׃e/lo/he/HEMtheir God

   And they stood up in their place, and read in the book of the law of the LORD their God one fourth part of the day; and another fourth part they confessed, and worshipped the LORD their God.

   Then stood up upon the stairs, of the Levites, Jeshua, and Bani, Kadmiel, Shebaniah, Bunni, Sherebiah, Bani, and Chenani, and cried with a loud voice unto the LORD their God.

   Then the Levites, Jeshua, and Kadmiel, Bani, Hashabniah, Sherebiah, Hodijah, Shebaniah, and Pethahiah, said, Stand up and bless the LORD your God for ever and ever: and blessed be thy glorious name, which is exalted above all blessing and praise.

   Thou, even thou, art LORD alone; thou hast made heaven, the heaven of heavens, with all their host, the earth, and all things that are therein, the seas, and all that is therein, and thou preservest them all; and the host of heaven worshippeth thee.

   Thou art the LORD the God, who didst choose Abram, and broughtest him forth out of Ur of the Chaldees, and gavest him the name of Abraham;

   וּמָצָאתָu/ma/TSA/taand foundאֶת־לְבָבוֹet-le/va/VOhis heartנֶאֱמָןne/e/MANfaithfulלְפָנֶיךָle/fa/NE/khabefore Youוְכָרוֹתve/kha/ROTand madeעִמּוֹim/MOwith himהַבְּרִיתhab/be/RITthe covenantלָתֵתla/TETto giveאֶת־אֶרֶץet-E/retsthe land ofהַכְּנַעֲנִיhak/Ke/na/a/NIthe Canaanitesהַחִתִּיha/Chit/TIthe Hittitesהָאֱמֹרִיha/E/mo/RIthe Amoritesוְהַפְּרִזִּיve/hap/Pe/riz/ZIand the PerizzitesוְהַיְבוּסִיVe/hay/vu/SIand the Jebusitesוְהַגִּרְגָּשִׁיve/hag/Gir/ga/SHIand the Girgashitesלָתֵתla/TETto giveלְזַרְעוֹle/zar/Ofor his seedוַתָּקֶםvat/TA/kemand You have performedאֶת־דְּבָרֶיךָet-de/va/RE/khaYour wordsכִּיkiforצַדִּיקtsad/DIKrighteousאָתָּה׃AT/taare You

   And foundest his heart faithful before thee, and madest a covenant with him to give the land of the Canaanites, the Hittites, the Amorites, and the Perizzites, and the Jebusites, and the Girgashites, to give it, I say, to his seed, and hast performed thy words; for thou art righteous:

   וַתֵּרֶאvat/TE/reand You sawאֶת־עֳנִיet-o/NIthe affliction ofאֲבֹתֵינוּa/vo/TE/nuour fathersבְּמִצְרָיִםbe/Mits/RA/yimin Egyptוְאֶת־זַעֲקָתָםve/ET-za/a/ka/TAMand their cryשָׁמַעְתָּsha/MA/taYou heardעַל־יַם־סוּף׃al-Yam-sufby the Red Sea

   And didst see the affliction of our fathers in Egypt, and heardest their cry by the Red sea;

10. 10

    וַתִּתֵּןvat/tit/TENand showedאֹתֹתo/TOTsignsוּמֹפְתִיםu/mof/TIMand wondersבְּפַרְעֹהbe/Far/Oon Pharaohוּבְכׇל־עֲבָדָיוu/ve/KHOL-a/va/DAYVand on all his servantsוּבְכׇל־עַםu/ve/KHOL-amand on all the people ofאַרְצוֹar/TSOhis landכִּיkiforיָדַעְתּya/DATYou knewכִּיkithatהֵזִידוּhe/ZI/duthey dealt proudlyעֲלֵיהֶםa/le/HEMagainst themוַתַּעַשׂ־לְךָvat/TA/as-le/KHAso You made Yourselfשֵׁםshema nameכְּהַיּוֹםke/hay/YOMas the dayהַזֶּה׃haz/ZEthis

    And shewedst signs and wonders upon Pharaoh, and on all his servants, and on all the people of his land: for thou knewest that they dealt proudly against them. So didst thou get thee a name, as it is this day.

    וְהַיָּםve/hay/YAMand the seaבָּקַעְתָּba/KA/taYou dividedלִפְנֵיהֶםlif/ne/HEMbefore themוַיַּעַבְרוּvay/ya/av/RUso that they wentבְתוֹךְ־הַיָּםve/TOKH-hay/YAMthrough the midst of the seaבַּיַּבָּשָׁהbay/yab/ba/SHAon the dry groundוְאֶת־רֹדְפֵיהֶםve/ET-rod/fe/HEMand their pursuersהִשְׁלַכְתָּhish/LAKH/taYou threwבִמְצוֹלֹתvim/tso/LOTinto the depthsכְּמוֹ־אֶבֶןke/MO-E/venas a stoneבְּמַיִםbe/MA/yimin the watersעַזִּים׃az/ZIMmighty

    And thou didst divide the sea before them, so that they went through the midst of the sea on the dry land; and their persecutors thou threwest into the deeps, as a stone into the mighty waters.

    וּבְעַמּוּדu/ve/am/MUDand in a pillar ofעָנָןa/NANa cloudהִנְחִיתָםhin/chi/TAMYou led themיוֹמָםyo/MAMby dayוּבְעַמּוּדu/ve/am/MUDand in a pillar ofאֵשׁeshfireלַיְלָהLAY/laby nightלְהָאִירle/ha/IRto give lightלָהֶםla/HEMto themאֶת־הַדֶּרֶךְet-had/DE/rekhthe wayאֲשֶׁרa/SHERin whichיֵלְכוּ־בָהּ׃yel/KHU-vathey should go

    Moreover thou leddest them in the day by a cloudy pillar; and in the night by a pillar of fire, to give them light in the way wherein they should go.

13. 13

    וְעַלve/ALand onהַר־סִינַיhaR-si/NAYmount Sinaiיָרַדְתָּya/RAD/taYou came downוְדַבֵּרve/dab/BERand spokeעִמָּהֶםim/ma/HEMwith themמִשָּׁמָיִםmish/sha/MA/yimfrom heavenוַתִּתֵּןvat/tit/TENand gaveלָהֶםla/HEMto themמִשְׁפָּטִיםmish/pa/TIMjudgmentsיְשָׁרִיםye/sha/RIMrightוְתוֹרוֹתve/to/ROTand laws ofאֱמֶתe/METtruthחֻקִּיםchuk/KIMstatutesוּמִצְוֺתu/mits/VOTand commandmentsטוֹבִים׃to/VIMgood

    Thou camest down also upon mount Sinai, and spakest with them from heaven, and gavest them right judgments, and true laws, good statutes and commandments:

    וְאֶת־שַׁבַּתve/ET-shab/BATand the sabbath ofקׇדְשְׁךָkod/she/KHAYour holinessהוֹדַעְתָּho/DA/taYou have made knownלָהֶםla/HEMto themוּמִצְווֹתu/mits/VOTand commandmentsוְחֻקִּיםve/chuk/KIMand statutesוְתוֹרָהve/to/RAand lawצִוִּיתָtsiv/VI/taYou commandedלָהֶםla/HEMto themבְּיַדbe/YADby the hand ofמֹשֶׁהMo/SHEMosesעַבְדֶּךָ׃av/DE/khaYour servant

    And madest known unto them thy holy sabbath, and commandedst them precepts, statutes, and laws, by the hand of Moses thy servant:

15. 15

    וְלֶחֶםve/LE/chemand breadמִשָּׁמַיִםmish/sha/MA/yimfrom heavenנָתַתָּהna/TAT/taYou gaveלָהֶםla/HEMto themלִרְעָבָםlir/a/VAMfor their hungerוּמַיִםu/MA/yimand waterמִסֶּלַעmis/SE/lafrom a rockהוֹצֵאתָho/TSE/taYou brought forthלָהֶםla/HEMto themלִצְמָאָםlits/ma/AMfor their thirstוַתֹּאמֶרvat/TO/merand toldלָהֶםla/HEMto themלָבוֹאla/VOto go inלָרֶשֶׁתla/RE/shetto possessאֶת־הָאָרֶץet-ha/A/retsthe landאֲשֶׁר־נָשָׂאתָa/SHER-na/SA/tawhich You had liftedאֶת־יָדְךָet-ya/de/KHAYour handלָתֵתla/TETto giveלָהֶם׃la/HEMto them

    And gavest them bread from heaven for their hunger, and broughtest forth water for them out of the rock for their thirst, and promisedst them that they should go in to possess the land which thou hadst sworn to give them.

    וְהֵםve/HEMbut theyוַאֲבֹתֵינוּva/a/vo/TE/nuand our fathersהֵזִידוּhe/ZI/dudealt proudlyוַיַּקְשׁוּvay/yak/SHUand stiffenedאֶת־עׇרְפָּםet-or/PAMtheir necksוְלֹאve/LOand notשָׁמְעוּsha/me/Udid they listenאֶל־מִצְוֺתֶיךָ׃el-mits/vo/TE/khato Your commandments

    But they and our fathers dealt proudly, and hardened their necks, and hearkened not to thy commandments,

17. 17

    וַיְמָאֲנוּvay/ma/a/NUand they refusedלִשְׁמֹעַlish/MO/ato listenוְלֹא־זָכְרוּve/LO-za/khe/RUand did not rememberנִפְלְאֹתֶיךָnif/le/o/TE/khaYour wondersאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhichעָשִׂיתָa/SI/taYou didעִמָּהֶםim/ma/HEMwith themוַיַּקְשׁוּvay/yak/SHUbut stiffenedאֶת־עׇרְפָּםet-or/PAMtheir necksוַיִּתְּנוּ־רֹאשׁvay/yit/te/NU-roshand appointed a leaderלָשׁוּבla/SHUVto returnלְעַבְדֻתָםle/av/du/TAMto their bondageבְּמִרְיָםbe/mir/YAMin their rebellionוְאַתָּהve/at/TAbut You areאֱלוֹהַּe/LO/aha Godסְלִיחוֹתse/li/CHOTof pardonsחַנּוּןchan/NUNgraciousוְרַחוּםve/ra/CHUMand mercifulאֶרֶךְ־אַפַּיִםE/rekh-ap/PA/yimslow to angerוְרַב־[חֶסֶד]ve/RAV-CHE/sedand abundant in kindness(וחסד)vachasadוְלֹאve/LOand notעֲזַבְתָּם׃a/zav/TAMYou forsook them

    And refused to obey, neither were mindful of thy wonders that thou didst among them; but hardened their necks, and in their rebellion appointed a captain to return to their bondage: but thou art a God ready to pardon, gracious and merciful, slow to anger, and of great kindness, and forsookest them not.

    אַףafevenכִּי־עָשׂוּki-a/SUwhen they madeלָהֶםla/HEMfor themselvesעֵגֶלE/gela calf ofמַסֵּכָהmas/se/KHAmolten metalוַיֹּאמְרוּvay/yo/me/RUand they saidזֶהzethis isאֱלֹהֶיךָe/lo/HE/khayour godאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhoהֶעֶלְךָhe/el/KHAbrought you upמִמִּצְרָיִםmim/Mits/RA/yimfrom Egyptוַיַּעֲשׂוּvay/ya/a/SUand committedנֶאָצוֹתne/a/TSOTprovocationsגְּדֹלוֹת׃ge/do/LOTgreat

    Yea, when they had made them a molten calf, and said, This is thy God that brought thee up out of Egypt, and had wrought great provocations;

19. 19

    וְאַתָּהve/at/TAyet Youבְּרַחֲמֶיךָbe/ra/cha/ME/khain Your merciesהָרַבִּיםha/rab/BIMmanifoldלֹאlonotעֲזַבְתָּםa/zav/TAMforsook themבַּמִּדְבָּרbam/mid/BARin the wildernessאֶת־עַמּוּדet-am/MUDthe pillar ofהֶעָנָןhe/a/NANthe cloudלֹא־סָרlo-sardid not departמֵעֲלֵיהֶםme/a/le/HEMfrom themבְּיוֹמָםbe/yo/MAMby dayלְהַנְחֹתָםle/han/cho/TAMto lead themבְּהַדֶּרֶךְbe/had/DE/rekhin the wayוְאֶת־עַמּוּדve/ET-am/MUDand the pillar ofהָאֵשׁha/ESHfireבְּלַיְלָהbe/LAY/laby nightלְהָאִירle/ha/IRto give lightלָהֶםla/HEMto themוְאֶת־הַדֶּרֶךְve/ET-had/DE/rekhand the wayאֲשֶׁרa/SHERin whichיֵלְכוּ־בָהּ׃yel/KHU-vathey should go

    Yet thou in thy manifold mercies forsookest them not in the wilderness: the pillar of the cloud departed not from them by day, to lead them in the way; neither the pillar of fire by night, to shew them light, and the way wherein they should go.

    וְרוּחֲךָve/Ru/cha/KHAand Your Spiritהַטּוֹבָהhat/to/VAgoodנָתַתָּna/TAT/taYou gaveלְהַשְׂכִּילָםle/has/ki/LAMto instruct themוּמַנְךָu/man/KHAand Your mannaלֹא־מָנַעְתָּlo-ma/NA/taYou did not withholdמִפִּיהֶםmip/pi/HEMfrom their mouthוּמַיִםu/MA/yimand waterנָתַתָּהna/TAT/taYou gaveלָהֶםla/HEMto themלִצְמָאָם׃lits/ma/AMfor their thirst

    Thou gavest also thy good spirit to instruct them, and withheldest not thy manna from their mouth, and gavest them water for their thirst.

21. 21

    וְאַרְבָּעִיםve/ar/ba/IMand fortyשָׁנָהsha/NAyearsכִּלְכַּלְתָּםkil/kal/TAMYou sustained themבַּמִּדְבָּרbam/mid/BARin the wildernessלֹאlonotחָסֵרוּcha/SE/rudid they lackשַׂלְמֹתֵיהֶםsal/mo/te/HEMtheir clothesלֹאlonotבָלוּva/LUwore outוְרַגְלֵיהֶםve/rag/le/HEMand their feetלֹאlonotבָצֵקוּ׃va/TSE/kuswelled

    Yea, forty years didst thou sustain them in the wilderness, so that they lacked nothing; their clothes waxed not old, and their feet swelled not.

22. 22

    וַתִּתֵּןvat/tit/TENand You gaveלָהֶםla/HEMto themמַמְלָכוֹתmam/la/KHOTkingdomsוַעֲמָמִיםva/a/ma/MIMand peoplesוַתַּחְלְקֵםvat/tach/le/KEMand divided themלְפֵאָהle/fe/Ato every cornerוַיִּירְשׁוּvay/yi/re/SHUso they possessedאֶת־אֶרֶץet-E/retsthe land ofסִיחוֹןSi/CHONSihonוְאֶת־אֶרֶץve/ET-E/retsand the land ofמֶלֶךְME/lekhthe king ofחֶשְׁבּוֹןChesh/BONHeshbonוְאֶת־אֶרֶץve/ET-E/retsand the land ofעוֹגOgOgמֶלֶךְ־הַבָּשָׁן׃ME/lekh-Hab/ba/SHANthe king of Bashan

    Moreover thou gavest them kingdoms and nations, and didst divide them into corners: so they possessed the land of Sihon, and the land of the king of Heshbon, and the land of Og king of Bashan.

23. 23

    וּבְנֵיהֶםu/ve/ne/HEMand their childrenהִרְבִּיתָhir/BI/taYou multipliedכְּכֹכְבֵיke/khokh/VElike the stars ofהַשָּׁמָיִםhash/sha/MA/yimthe heavensוַתְּבִיאֵםvat/te/vi/EMand brought themאֶל־הָאָרֶץel-ha/A/retsto the landאֲשֶׁר־אָמַרְתָּa/SHER-a/MAR/tawhich You had toldלַאֲבֹתֵיהֶםla/a/vo/te/HEMto their fathersלָבוֹאla/VOthey should go inלָרָשֶׁת׃la/RA/shetto possess

    Their children also multipliedst thou as the stars of heaven, and broughtest them into the land, concerning which thou hadst promised to their fathers, that they should go in to possess it.

    וַיָּבֹאוּvay/ya/VO/uand they cameהַבָּנִיםhab/ba/NIMthe childrenוַיִּירְשׁוּvay/yi/re/SHUand possessedאֶת־הָאָרֶץet-ha/A/retsthe landוַתַּכְנַעvat/takh/NAand You subduedלִפְנֵיהֶםlif/ne/HEMbefore themאֶת־יֹשְׁבֵיet-yosh/VEthe inhabitants ofהָאָרֶץha/A/retsthe landהַכְּנַעֲנִיםhak/Ke/na/a/NIMthe Canaanitesוַתִּתְּנֵםvat/tit/te/NEMand gave themבְּיָדָםbe/ya/DAMinto their handוְאֶת־מַלְכֵיהֶםve/ET-mal/khe/HEMand their kingsוְאֶת־עַמְמֵיve/ET-am/MEand the peoples ofהָאָרֶץha/A/retsthe landלַעֲשׂוֹתla/a/SOTthat they might doבָּהֶםba/HEMwith themכִּרְצוֹנָם׃kir/tso/NAMas they would

    So the children went in and possessed the land, and thou subduedst before them the inhabitants of the land, the Canaanites, and gavest them into their hands, with their kings, and the people of the land, that they might do with them as they would.

    וַיִּלְכְּדוּvay/yil/ke/DUand they tookעָרִיםa/RIMcitiesבְּצוּרֹתbe/tsu/ROTfortifiedוַאֲדָמָהva/a/da/MAand a landשְׁמֵנָהshe/me/NAfatוַיִּירְשׁוּvay/yi/re/SHUand possessedבָּתִּיםbat/TIMhousesמְלֵאִים־כׇּל־טוּבme/le/IM-kol-tuvfull of all goodsבֹּרוֹתbo/ROTcisternsחֲצוּבִיםcha/tsu/VIMhewnכְּרָמִיםke/ra/MIMvineyardsוְזֵיתִיםve/ze/TIMand olive treesוְעֵץve/ETSand trees ofמַאֲכָלma/a/KHALfoodלָרֹבla/ROVin abundanceוַיֹּאכְלוּvay/yo/khe/LUand they ateוַיִּשְׂבְּעוּvay/yis/be/Uand were filledוַיַּשְׁמִינוּvay/yash/MI/nuand they grew fatוַיִּתְעַדְּנוּvay/yit/ad/de/NUand delighted themselvesבְּטוּבְךָbe/tuv/KHAin Your goodnessהַגָּדוֹל׃hag/ga/DOLgreat

    And they took strong cities, and a fat land, and possessed houses full of all goods, wells digged, vineyards, and oliveyards, and fruit trees in abundance: so they did eat, and were filled, and became fat, and delighted themselves in thy great goodness.

26. 26

    וַיַּמְרוּvay/yam/RUnevertheless they were disobedientוַיִּמְרְדוּvay/yim/re/DUand rebelledבָּךְbakhagainst Youוַיַּשְׁלִכוּvay/yash/LI/khuand castאֶת־תּוֹרָתְךָet-to/ra/te/KHAYour lawאַחֲרֵיa/cha/REbehindגַוָּםgav/VAMtheir backsוְאֶת־נְבִיאֶיךָve/ET-ne/vi/E/khaand Your prophetsהָרָגוּha/RA/guthey killedאֲשֶׁר־הֵעִידוּa/SHER-he/I/duwho testifiedבָםvamagainst themלַהֲשִׁיבָםla/ha/shi/VAMto turn themאֵלֶיךָe/LE/khato Youוַיַּעֲשׂוּvay/ya/a/SUand they committedנֶאָצוֹתne/a/TSOTprovocationsגְּדוֹלֹת׃ge/do/LOTgreat

    Nevertheless they were disobedient, and rebelled against thee, and cast thy law behind their backs, and slew thy prophets which testified against them to turn them to thee, and they wrought great provocations.

27. 27

    וַתִּתְּנֵםvat/tit/te/NEMtherefore You gave themבְּיַדbe/YADinto the hand ofצָרֵיהֶםtsa/re/HEMtheir adversariesוַיָּצֵרוּvay/ya/TSE/ruwho distressedלָהֶםla/HEMthemוּבְעֵתu/ve/ETand in the time ofצָרָתָםtsa/ra/TAMtheir troubleיִצְעֲקוּyits/a/KUwhen they criedאֵלֶיךָe/LE/khato Youוְאַתָּהve/at/TAYouמִשָּׁמַיִםmish/sha/MA/yimfrom heavenתִּשְׁמָעtish/MAheardוּכְרַחֲמֶיךָu/khe/ra/cha/ME/khaand according to Your merciesהָרַבִּיםha/rab/BIMmanifoldתִּתֵּןtit/TENYou gaveלָהֶםla/HEMto themמוֹשִׁיעִיםmo/shi/IMdeliverersוְיוֹשִׁיעוּםve/yo/shi/UMwho saved themמִיַּדmiy/YADfrom the hand ofצָרֵיהֶם׃tsa/re/HEMtheir adversaries

    Therefore thou deliveredst them into the hand of their enemies, who vexed them: and in the time of their trouble, when they cried unto thee, thou heardest them from heaven; and according to thy manifold mercies thou gavest them saviours, who saved them out of the hand of their enemies.

28. 28

    וּכְנוֹחַu/khe/NO/achbut after they had restלָהֶםla/HEMtheyיָשׁוּבוּya/SHU/vureturnedלַעֲשׂוֹתla/a/SOTto doרַעraevilלְפָנֶיךָle/fa/NE/khabefore Youוַתַּעַזְבֵםvat/ta/az/VEMtherefore You left themבְּיַדbe/YADin the hand ofאֹיְבֵיהֶםoy/ve/HEMtheir enemiesוַיִּרְדּוּvay/yir/DUso that they had dominionבָהֶםva/HEMover themוַיָּשׁוּבוּvay/ya/SHU/vuyet when they returnedוַיִּזְעָקוּךָvay/yiz/a/KU/khaand cried to Youוְאַתָּהve/at/TAYouמִשָּׁמַיִםmish/sha/MA/yimfrom heavenתִּשְׁמַעtish/MAheardוְתַצִּילֵםve/tats/tsi/LEMand You delivered themכְּרַחֲמֶיךָke/ra/cha/ME/khaaccording to Your merciesרַבּוֹתrab/BOTmanyעִתִּים׃it/TIMtimes

    But after they had rest, they did evil again before thee: therefore leftest thou them in the hand of their enemies, so that they had the dominion over them: yet when they returned, and cried unto thee, thou heardest them from heaven; and many times didst thou deliver them according to thy mercies;

29. 29

    וַתָּעַדvat/TA/adand You testifiedבָּהֶםba/HEMagainst themלַהֲשִׁיבָםla/ha/shi/VAMto bring them backאֶל־תּוֹרָתֶךָel-to/ra/TE/khato Your lawוְהֵמָּהve/HEM/mayet theyהֵזִידוּhe/ZI/dudealt proudlyוְלֹא־שָׁמְעוּve/LO-sha/me/Uand did not listenלְמִצְוֺתֶיךָle/mits/vo/TE/khato Your commandmentsוּבְמִשְׁפָּטֶיךָu/ve/mish/pa/TE/khabut against Your judgmentsחָטְאוּ־בָםcha/te/U-vamsinnedאֲשֶׁר־יַעֲשֶׂהa/SHER-ya/a/SEwhich if doesאָדָםa/DAMmanוְחָיָהve/cha/YAhe shall liveבָהֶםva/HEMby themוַיִּתְּנוּvay/yit/te/NUand turnedכָתֵףkha/TEFa shoulderסוֹרֶרֶתso/RE/retstubbornוְעׇרְפָּםve/or/PAMand their neckהִקְשׁוּhik/SHUstiffenedוְלֹאve/LOand notשָׁמֵעוּ׃sha/ME/uwould they hear

    And testifiedst against them, that thou mightest bring them again unto thy law: yet they dealt proudly, and hearkened not unto thy commandments, but sinned against thy judgments, (which if a man do, he shall live in them;) and withdrew the shoulder, and hardened their neck, and would not hear.

30. 30

    וַתִּמְשֹׁךְvat/tim/SHOKHyet You bore withעֲלֵיהֶםa/le/HEMthemשָׁנִיםsha/NIMyearsרַבּוֹתrab/BOTmanyוַתָּעַדvat/TA/adand testifiedבָּםbamagainst themבְּרוּחֲךָbe/Ru/cha/KHAby Your Spiritבְּיַד־נְבִיאֶיךָbe/YAD-ne/vi/E/khaby the hand of Your prophetsוְלֹאve/LOand notהֶאֱזִינוּhe/e/ZI/nuwould they give earוַתִּתְּנֵםvat/tit/te/NEMtherefore You gave themבְּיַדbe/YADinto the hand ofעַמֵּיam/MEthe peoples ofהָאֲרָצֹת׃ha/a/ra/TSOTthe lands

    Yet many years didst thou forbear them, and testifiedst against them by thy spirit in thy prophets: yet would they not give ear: therefore gavest thou them into the hand of the people of the lands.

31. 31

    וּבְרַחֲמֶיךָu/ve/ra/cha/ME/khanevertheless in Your merciesהָרַבִּיםha/rab/BIMmanifoldלֹא־עֲשִׂיתָםlo-a/si/TAMYou did not make themכָּלָהka/LAan endוְלֹאve/LOand notעֲזַבְתָּםa/zav/TAMforsake themכִּיkibecauseאֵל־חַנּוּןel-chan/NUNa gracious Godוְרַחוּםve/ra/CHUMand mercifulאָתָּה׃AT/taare You

    Nevertheless for thy great mercies' sake thou didst not utterly consume them, nor forsake them; for thou art a gracious and merciful God.

32. 32

    וְעַתָּהve/at/TAand nowאֱלֹהֵינוּe/lo/HE/nuO our Godהָאֵלha/ELGodהַגָּדוֹלhag/ga/DOLgreatהַגִּבּוֹרhag/gib/BORmightyוְהַנּוֹרָאve/han/no/RAand awesomeשׁוֹמֵרsho/MERwho keepsהַבְּרִיתhab/be/RITthe covenantוְהַחֶסֶדve/ha/CHE/sedand kindnessאַל־יִמְעַטal-yim/ATlet not seem littleלְפָנֶיךָle/fa/NE/khabefore Youאֵת־כׇּל־הַתְּלָאָהet-kol-hat/te/la/Aall the hardshipאֲשֶׁר־מְצָאַתְנוּa/SHER-me/tsa/AT/nuthat has come upon usלִמְלָכֵינוּlim/la/KHE/nuon our kingsלְשָׂרֵינוּle/sa/RE/nuon our princesוּלְכֹהֲנֵינוּu/le/kho/ha/NE/nuand on our priestsוְלִנְבִיאֵינוּve/lin/vi/E/nuand on our prophetsוְלַאֲבֹתֵינוּve/la/a/vo/TE/nuand on our fathersוּלְכׇל־עַמֶּךָu/le/KHOL-am/ME/khaand on all Your peopleמִימֵיMI/mefrom the days ofמַלְכֵיmal/KHEthe kings ofאַשּׁוּרAsh/SHURAssyriaעַדadtoהַיּוֹםhay/YOMthe dayהַזֶּה׃haz/ZEthis

    Now therefore, our God, the great, the mighty, and the terrible God, who keepest covenant and mercy, let not all the trouble seem little before thee, that hath come upon us, on our kings, on our princes, and on our priests, and on our prophets, and on our fathers, and on all thy people, since the time of the kings of Assyria unto this day.

33. 33

    וְאַתָּהve/at/TAyet You areצַדִּיקtsad/DIKjustעַלalinכׇּל־הַבָּאkol-hab/BAall that has comeעָלֵינוּa/LE/nuupon usכִּי־אֱמֶתki-e/METfor faithfullyעָשִׂיתָa/SI/taYou have doneוַאֲנַחְנוּva/a/NACH/nubut weהִרְשָׁעְנוּ׃hir/SHA/nuhave done wickedly

    Howbeit thou art just in all that is brought upon us; for thou hast done right, but we have done wickedly:

34. 34

    וְאֶת־מְלָכֵינוּve/ET-me/la/KHE/nuand our kingsשָׂרֵינוּsa/RE/nuour princesכֹּהֲנֵינוּko/ha/NE/nuour priestsוַאֲבֹתֵינוּva/a/vo/TE/nuand our fathersלֹאlonotעָשׂוּa/SUkeptתּוֹרָתֶךָto/ra/TE/khaYour lawוְלֹאve/LOand notהִקְשִׁיבוּhik/SHI/vulistenedאֶל־מִצְוֺתֶיךָel-mits/vo/TE/khato Your commandmentsוּלְעֵדְוֺתֶיךָu/le/ed/vo/TE/khaand Your testimoniesאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwith whichהַעִידֹתָha/i/DO/taYou testifiedבָּהֶם׃ba/HEMagainst them

    Neither have our kings, our princes, our priests, nor our fathers, kept thy law, nor hearkened unto thy commandments and thy testimonies, wherewith thou didst testify against them.

35. 35

    וְהֵםve/HEMfor theyבְּמַלְכוּתָםbe/mal/khu/TAMin their kingdomוּבְטוּבְךָu/ve/tuv/KHAand in Your goodnessהָרָבha/RAVgreatאֲשֶׁר־נָתַתָּa/SHER-na/TAT/tathat You gaveלָהֶםla/HEMto themוּבְאֶרֶץu/ve/E/retsand in the landהָרְחָבָהha/re/cha/VAlargeוְהַשְּׁמֵנָהve/hash/she/me/NAand fatאֲשֶׁר־נָתַתָּa/SHER-na/TAT/tathat You gaveלִפְנֵיהֶםlif/ne/HEMbefore themלֹאlonotעֲבָדוּךָa/va/DU/khaserved Youוְלֹא־שָׁבוּve/LO-SHA/vunor turnedמִמַּעַלְלֵיהֶםmim/ma/al/le/HEMfrom their worksהָרָעִים׃ha/ra/IMwicked

    For they have not served thee in their kingdom, and in thy great goodness that thou gavest them, and in the large and fat land which thou gavest before them, neither turned they from their wicked works.

36. 36

    הִנֵּהhin/NEbeholdאֲנַחְנוּa/NACH/nuweהַיּוֹםhay/YOMthis dayעֲבָדִיםa/va/DIMslavesוְהָאָרֶץve/ha/A/retsand the landאֲשֶׁר־נָתַתָּהa/SHER-na/TAT/tathat You gaveלַאֲבֹתֵינוּla/a/vo/TE/nuto our fathersלֶאֱכֹלle/e/KHOLto eatאֶת־פִּרְיָהּet-pir/YAits fruitוְאֶת־טוּבָהּve/ET-tu/VAand its goodהִנֵּהhin/NEbeholdאֲנַחְנוּa/NACH/nuweעֲבָדִיםa/va/DIMslavesעָלֶיהָ׃a/LE/hain it

    Behold, we are servants this day, and for the land that thou gavest unto our fathers to eat the fruit thereof and the good thereof, behold, we are servants in it:

37. 37

    וּתְבוּאָתָהּu/te/vu/a/TAand its produceמַרְבָּהmar/BAyields muchלַמְּלָכִיםlam/me/la/KHIMto the kingsאֲשֶׁר־נָתַתָּהa/SHER-na/TAT/tawhom You have setעָלֵינוּa/LE/nuover usבְּחַטֹּאותֵינוּbe/chat/to/TE/nubecause of our sinsוְעַלve/ALalso overגְּוִיֹּתֵינוּge/viy/yo/te/NUour bodiesמֹשְׁלִיםmosh/LIMthey have dominionוּבִבְהֶמְתֵּנוּu/viv/hem/TE/nuand over our cattleכִּרְצוֹנָםkir/tso/NAMat their pleasureוּבְצָרָהu/ve/tsa/RAand in distressגְדֹלָהge/do/LAgreatאֲנָחְנוּ׃a/NACH/nuare we

    And it yieldeth much increase unto the kings whom thou hast set over us because of our sins: also they have dominion over our bodies, and over our cattle, at their pleasure, and we are in great distress.
