Nehemiah 3 נְחֶמְיָה פרק ג׳

1. 1

   וַיָּקׇםand he aroseאֶלְיָשִׁיבEliashibהַכֹּהֵןthe priestהַגָּדוֹלthe greatוְאֶחָיוand his brethrenהַכֹּהֲנִיםthe priestsוַיִּבְנוּand they builtאֶת־שַׁעַרgate ofהַצֹּאןthe flockהֵמָּהtheyקִדְּשׁוּהוּthey consecrated itוַיַּעֲמִידוּand they made standדַּלְתֹתָיוits doorsוְעַד־מִגְדַּלand unto towerהַמֵּאָהthe hundredקִדְּשׁוּהוּthey consecrated itעַדuntilמִגְדַּלtowerחֲנַנְאֵל׃Hananeel

   Then Eliashib the high priest rose up with his brethren the priests, and they builded the sheep gate; they sanctified it, and set up the doors of it; even unto the tower of Meah they sanctified it, unto the tower of Hananeel.

2. 2

   וְעַל־יָדוֹand upon his handבָנוּthey builtאַנְשֵׁיthe men ofיְרֵחוֹJerichoוְעַל־יָדוֹand upon his handבָנָהhas builtזַכּוּרZaccurבֶּן־אִמְרִי׃son of Imri

   And next unto him builded the men of Jericho. And next to them builded Zaccur the son of Imri.

3. 3

   וְאֵתandשַׁעַרthe gate ofהַדָּגִיםthe fishבָּנוּthey builtבְּנֵיthe sons ofהַסְּנָאָהthe Senaahהֵמָּהtheyקֵרוּהוּthey made beams for itוַיַּעֲמִידוּand they made standדַּלְתֹתָיוits doorsמַנְעוּלָיוits boltsוּבְרִיחָיו׃and its bars

   But the fish gate did the sons of Hassenaah build, who also laid the beams thereof, and set up the doors thereof, the locks thereof, and the bars thereof.

4. 4

   וְעַל־יָדָםand upon themהֶחֱזִיקrepairedמְרֵמוֹתMeremothבֶּן־אוּרִיָּהson of Uriahבֶּן־הַקּוֹץthe son of Cozוְעַל־יָדָםand upon themהֶחֱזִיקrepairedמְשֻׁלָּםMeshullamבֶּן־בֶּרֶכְיָהson of Berechiahבֶּן־מְשֵׁיזַבְאֵלson of Meshezabeelוְעַל־יָדָםand upon themהֶחֱזִיקrepairedצָדוֹקZadokבֶּן־בַּעֲנָא׃son of Baanah

   And next unto them repaired Meremoth the son of Urijah, the son of Koz. And next unto them repaired Meshullam the son of Berechiah, the son of Meshezabeel. And next unto them repaired Zadok the son of Baana.

5. 5

   וְעַל־יָדָםand upon themהֶחֱזִיקוּrepairedהַתְּקוֹעִיםthe Tekoitesוְאַדִּירֵיהֶםand their noblesלֹא־הֵבִיאוּnot they broughtצַוָּרָםtheir neckבַּעֲבֹדַתin the service ofאֲדֹנֵיהֶם׃their lords

   And next unto them the Tekoites repaired; but their nobles put not their necks to the work of their Lord.

6. 6

   וְאֵתandשַׁעַרthe gate ofהַיְשָׁנָהthe oldהֶחֱזִיקוּrepairedיוֹיָדָעJoiadaבֶּן־פָּסֵחַson of Paseahוּמְשֻׁלָּםand Meshullamבֶּן־בְּסוֹדְיָהson of Besodeiahהֵמָּהtheyקֵרוּהוּthey made beams for itוַיַּעֲמִידוּand they made standדַּלְתֹתָיוits doorsוּמַנְעֻלָיוand its boltsוּבְרִיחָיו׃and its bars

   Moreover the old gate repaired Jehoiada the son of Paseah, and Meshullam the son of Besodeiah; they laid the beams thereof, and set up the doors thereof, and the locks thereof, and the bars thereof.

7. 7

   וְעַל־יָדָםand upon themהֶחֱזִיקrepairedמְלַטְיָהMelatiahהַגִּבְעֹנִיthe Gibeoniteוְיָדוֹןand Jadonהַמֵּרֹנֹתִיthe Meronothiteאַנְשֵׁיthe men ofגִבְעוֹןGibeonוְהַמִּצְפָּהand Mizpahלְכִסֵּאto the throneפַּחַתthe governor ofעֵבֶרsideהַנָּהָר׃the river

   And next unto them repaired Melatiah the Gibeonite, and Jadon the Meronothite, the men of Gibeon, and of Mizpah, unto the throne of the governor on this side the river.

8. 8

   עַל־יָדוֹby himהֶחֱזִיקrepairedעֻזִּיאֵלUzzielבֶּן־חַרְהֲיָהson of Harhaiahצוֹרְפִיםgoldsmithsוְעַל־יָדוֹand upon his handהֶחֱזִיקrepairedחֲנַנְיָהHananiahבֶּן־הָרַקָּחִיםson of the perfumersוַיַּעַזְבוּand they restoredיְרוּשָׁלַ͏ִםJerusalemעַדuntilהַחוֹמָהthe wallהָרְחָבָה׃the broad

   Next unto him repaired Uzziel the son of Harhaiah, of the goldsmiths. Next unto him also repaired Hananiah the son of one of the apothecaries, and they fortified Jerusalem unto the broad wall.

9. 9

   וְעַל־יָדָםand upon themהֶחֱזִיקrepairedרְפָיָהRephaiahבֶן־חוּרson of Hurשַׂרthe captain ofחֲצִיhalfפֶּלֶךְthe district ofיְרוּשָׁלָ͏ִם׃Jerusalem

   And next unto them repaired Rephaiah the son of Hur, the ruler of the half part of Jerusalem.

10. 10

    וְעַל־יָדָםand upon themהֶחֱזִיקrepairedיְדָיָהJedaiahבֶן־חֲרוּמַףson of Harumaphוְנֶגֶדand againstבֵּיתוֹhis houseוְעַל־יָדוֹand upon his handהֶחֱזִיקrepairedחַטּוּשׁHattushבֶּן־חֲשַׁבְנְיָה׃son of Hashabniah

    And next unto them repaired Jedaiah the son of Harumaph, even over against his house. And next unto him repaired Hattush the son of Hashabniah.

11. 11

    מִדָּהa pieceשֵׁנִיתagainהֶחֱזִיקrepairedמַלְכִּיָּהMalchijahבֶן־חָרִםson of Harimוְחַשּׁוּבand Hashshubבֶּן־פַּחַתson of Pahath-מוֹאָבmoabוְאֵתandמִגְדַּלtowerהַתַּנּוּרִים׃the ovens

    Malchijah the son of Harim, and Hashub the son of Pahath-moab, repaired the other piece, and the tower of the furnaces.

12. 12

    וְעַל־יָדוֹand upon his handהֶחֱזִיקrepairedשַׁלּוּםShallumבֶּן־הַלּוֹחֵשׁthe son of Halloheshשַׂרthe captain ofחֲצִיhalfפֶּלֶךְthe district ofיְרוּשָׁלָ͏ִםJerusalemהוּאheוּבְנוֹתָיו׃and his daughters

    And next unto him repaired Shallum the son of Halohesh, the ruler of the half part of Jerusalem, he and his daughters.

13. 13

    אֵת־שַׁעַרthe gate ofהַגַּיְאthe valleyהֶחֱזִיקrepairedחָנוּןHanunוְיֹשְׁבֵיand the inhabitants ofזָנוֹחַZanoahהֵמָּהtheyבָנוּהוּthey rebuilt itוַיַּעֲמִידוּand they made standדַּלְתֹתָיוits doorsמַנְעֻלָיוits boltsוּבְרִיחָיוand its barsוְאֶלֶףand one thousandאַמָּהcubitבַּחוֹמָהthe wallעַדuntilשַׁעַרthe gate ofהָשְׁפוֹת׃the dung

    The valley gate repaired Hanun, and the inhabitants of Zanoah; they built it, and set up the doors thereof, the locks thereof, and the bars thereof, and a thousand cubits on the wall unto the dung gate.

14. 14

    וְאֵתandשַׁעַרthe gate ofהָאַשְׁפּוֹתthe dungהֶחֱזִיקrepairedמַלְכִּיָּהMalchijahבֶן־רֵכָבson of Rechabשַׂרthe captain ofפֶּלֶךְthe district ofבֵּית־הַכָּרֶםBeth-hacceremהוּאheיִבְנֶנּוּhe rebuilt itוְיַעֲמִידand he may set upדַּלְתֹתָיוits doorsמַנְעֻלָיוits boltsוּבְרִיחָיו׃and its bars

    But the dung gate repaired Malchiah the son of Rechab, the ruler of part of Beth-haccerem; he built it, and set up the doors thereof, the locks thereof, and the bars thereof.

15. 15

    וְאֵתandשַׁעַרthe gate ofהָעַיִןthe springהֶחֱזִיקrepairedשַׁלּוּןShallunבֶּן־כׇּל־חֹזֶהson of Col-hozehשַׂרthe captain ofפֶּלֶךְthe district ofהַמִּצְפָּהMizpahהוּאheיִבְנֶנּוּhe rebuilt itוִיטַלְלֶנּוּand he roofed over it(ויעמידו)[וְיַעֲמִיד]and he may set upדַּלְתֹתָיוits doorsמַנְעֻלָיוits boltsוּבְרִיחָיוand its barsוְאֵתandחוֹמַתthe walls ofבְּרֵכַתthe pool ofהַשֶּׁלַחSiloahלְגַן־הַמֶּלֶךְof the garden of the kingוְעַד־הַמַּעֲלוֹתand unto the stepsהַיּוֹרְדוֹתthose which go downמֵעִירfrom cityדָּוִיד׃David

    But the gate of the fountain repaired Shallun the son of Col-hozeh, the ruler of part of Mizpah; he built it, and covered it, and set up the doors thereof, the locks thereof, and the bars thereof, and the wall of the pool of Siloah by the king's garden, and unto the stairs that go down from the city of David.

16. 16

    אַחֲרָיוafter himהֶחֱזִיקrepairedנְחֶמְיָהNehemiahבֶן־עַזְבּוּקson of Azbukשַׂרthe captain ofחֲצִיhalfפֶּלֶךְthe district ofבֵּית־צוּרBeth-zurעַד־נֶגֶדuntil againstקִבְרֵיthe graves ofדָוִידDavidוְעַד־הַבְּרֵכָהand unto the poolהָעֲשׂוּיָהthe madeוְעַדand untoבֵּיתthe house ofהַגִּבֹּרִים׃the mighty men

    After him repaired Nehemiah the son of Azbuk, the ruler of the half part of Beth-zur, unto the place over against the sepulchres of David, and to the pool that was made, and unto the house of the mighty.

17. 17

    אַחֲרָיוafter himהֶחֱזִיקוּrepairedהַלְוִיִּםthe LevitesרְחוּםRehumבֶּן־בָּנִיson of Baniעַל־יָדוֹby himהֶחֱזִיקrepairedחֲשַׁבְיָהHashabiahשַׂר־חֲצִי־פֶלֶךְthe chief of half the district ofקְעִילָהKeilahלְפִלְכּוֹ׃for his district

    After him repaired the Levites, Rehum the son of Bani. Next unto him repaired Hashabiah, the ruler of the half part of Keilah, in his part.

18. 18

    אַחֲרָיוafter himהֶחֱזִיקוּrepairedאֲחֵיהֶםtheir brethrenבַּוַּיBavvaiבֶּן־חֵנָדָדson of Henadadשַׂרthe captain ofחֲצִיhalfפֶּלֶךְthe district ofקְעִילָה׃Keilah

    After him repaired their brethren, Bavai the son of Henadad, the ruler of the half part of Keilah.

19. 19

    וַיְחַזֵּקrepairedעַל־יָדוֹby himעֵזֶרEzerבֶּן־יֵשׁוּעַson of Jeshuaשַׂרthe captain ofהַמִּצְפָּהMizpahמִדָּהa pieceשֵׁנִיתagainמִנֶּגֶדfrom beforeעֲלֹתthe going up ofהַנֶּשֶׁקthe armoryהַמִּקְצֹעַ׃the buttress

    And next to him repaired Ezer the son of Jeshua, the ruler of Mizpah, another piece over against the going up to the armoury at the turning of the wall.

20. 20

    אַחֲרָיוafter himהֶחֱרָהzealouslyהֶחֱזִיקrepairedבָּרוּךְBaruchבֶּן־[זַכַּי]son of Zaccai(זבי)מִדָּהa pieceשֵׁנִיתagainמִן־הַמִּקְצוֹעַfrom the buttressעַד־פֶּתַחuntil door ofבֵּיתthe house ofאֶלְיָשִׁיבEliashibהַכֹּהֵןthe priestהַגָּדוֹל׃the great

    After him Baruch the son of Zabbai earnestly repaired the other piece, from the turning of the wall unto the door of the house of Eliashib the high priest.

21. 21

    אַחֲרָיוafter himהֶחֱזִיקrepairedמְרֵמוֹתMeremothבֶּן־אוּרִיָּהson of Uriahבֶּן־הַקּוֹץthe son of Cozמִדָּהa pieceשֵׁנִיתagainמִפֶּתַחfrom the opening ofבֵּיתthe house ofאֶלְיָשִׁיבEliashibוְעַד־תַּכְלִיתand unto the end ofבֵּיתthe house ofאֶלְיָשִׁיב׃Eliashib

    After him repaired Meremoth the son of Urijah the son of Koz another piece, from the door of the house of Eliashib even to the end of the house of Eliashib.

22. 22

    וְאַחֲרָיוand after itהֶחֱזִיקוּrepairedהַכֹּהֲנִיםthe priestsאַנְשֵׁיthe men ofהַכִּכָּר׃the plain

    And after him repaired the priests, the men of the plain.

23. 23

    אַחֲרָיוafter himהֶחֱזִיקrepairedבִּנְיָמִןBenjaminוְחַשּׁוּבand Hashshubנֶגֶדagainstבֵּיתָםtheir houseאַחֲרָיוafter himהֶחֱזִיקrepairedעֲזַרְיָהAzariahבֶן־מַעֲשֵׂיָהson of Maaseiahבֶּן־עֲנָנְיָהson of Ananiahאֵצֶלnearבֵּיתוֹ׃his house

    After him repaired Benjamin and Hashub over against their house. After him repaired Azariah the son of Maaseiah the son of Ananiah by his house.

24. 24

    אַחֲרָיוafter himהֶחֱזִיקrepairedבִּנּוּיBinnuiבֶּן־חֵנָדָדson of Henadadמִדָּהa pieceשֵׁנִיתagainמִבֵּיתfrom the house ofעֲזַרְיָהAzariahעַד־הַמִּקְצוֹעַuntil the buttressוְעַד־הַפִּנָּה׃and unto the corner

    After him repaired Binnui the son of Henadad another piece, from the house of Azariah unto the turning of the wall, even unto the corner.

25. 25

    פָּלָלPalalבֶּן־אוּזַיson of Uzaiמִנֶּגֶדfrom beforeהַמִּקְצוֹעַthe buttressוְהַמִּגְדָּלand the towerהַיּוֹצֵאwhich lies outמִבֵּיתfrom the house ofהַמֶּלֶךְthe kingהָעֶלְיוֹןthe upperאֲשֶׁרwhichלַחֲצַרto the court ofהַמַּטָּרָהthe guardאַחֲרָיוafter himפְּדָיָהPedaiahבֶן־פַּרְעֹשׁ׃son of Parosh

    Palal the son of Uzai, over against the turning of the wall, and the tower which lieth out from the king's high house, that was by the court of the prison. After him Pedaiah the son of Parosh.

26. 26

    וְהַנְּתִינִיםand the temple servantsהָיוּwereיֹשְׁבִיםdwellingבָּעֹפֶלon Ophelעַדuntilנֶגֶדagainstשַׁעַרthe gate ofהַמַּיִםthe watersלַמִּזְרָחto the eastוְהַמִּגְדָּלand the towerהַיּוֹצֵא׃which lies out

    Moreover the Nethinims dwelt in Ophel, unto the place over against the water gate toward the east, and the tower that lieth out.

27. 27

    אַחֲרָיוafter himהֶחֱזִיקוּrepairedהַתְּקֹעִיםthe Tekoitesמִדָּהa pieceשֵׁנִיתagainמִנֶּגֶדfrom beforeהַמִּגְדָּלthe towerהַגָּדוֹלthe greatהַיּוֹצֵאwhich lies outוְעַדand untoחוֹמַתthe walls ofהָעֹפֶל׃Ophel

    After them the Tekoites repaired another piece, over against the great tower that lieth out, even unto the wall of Ophel.

28. 28

    מֵעַלfrom uponשַׁעַרthe gate ofהַסּוּסִיםthe horsesהֶחֱזִיקוּrepairedהַכֹּהֲנִיםthe priestsאִישׁa manלְנֶגֶדbeforeבֵּיתוֹ׃his house

    From above the horse gate repaired the priests, every one over against his house.

29. 29

    אַחֲרָיוafter himהֶחֱזִיקrepairedצָדוֹקZadokבֶּן־אִמֵּרson of Immerנֶגֶדagainstבֵּיתוֹhis houseוְאַחֲרָיוand after itהֶחֱזִיקrepairedשְׁמַעְיָהShemaiahבֶן־שְׁכַנְיָהson of Shechaniahשֹׁמֵרwho keepsשַׁעַרthe gate ofהַמִּזְרָח׃the east

    After them repaired Zadok the son of Immer over against his house. After him repaired also Shemaiah the son of Shechaniah, the keeper of the east gate.

30. 30

    (אחרי)[אַחֲרָיו]after himהֶחֱזִיקrepairedחֲנַנְיָהHananiahבֶן־שֶׁלֶמְיָהson of Shelemiahוְחָנוּןand Hanunבֶּן־צָלָףson of Zalaphהַשִּׁשִּׁיthe sixthמִדָּהa pieceשֵׁנִיsecondאַחֲרָיוafter himהֶחֱזִיקrepairedמְשֻׁלָּםMeshullamבֶּן־בֶּרֶכְיָהson of Berechiahנֶגֶדagainstנִשְׁכָּתוֹ׃his room

    After him repaired Hananiah the son of Shelemiah, and Hanun the sixth son of Zalaph, another piece. After him repaired Meshullam the son of Berechiah over against his chamber.

31. 31

    (אחרי)[אַחֲרָיו]after himהֶחֱזִיקrepairedמַלְכִּיָּהMalchijahבֶּן־הַצֹּרְפִיson of the goldsmithsעַד־בֵּיתuntil house ofהַנְּתִינִיםthe temple servantsוְהָרֹכְלִיםand the tradersנֶגֶדagainstשַׁעַרthe gate ofהַמִּפְקָדthe musterוְעַדand untoעֲלִיַּתthe upper room ofהַפִּנָּה׃the corner

    After him repaired Malchiah the goldsmith's son unto the place of the Nethinims, and of the merchants, over against the gate Miphkad, and to the going up of the corner.

32. 32

    וּבֵיןand betweenעֲלִיַּתthe upper room ofהַפִּנָּהthe cornerלְשַׁעַרfor the gate ofהַצֹּאןthe flockהֶחֱזִיקוּrepairedהַצֹּרְפִיםthe goldsmithsוְהָרֹכְלִים׃and the traders

    And between the going up of the corner unto the sheep gate repaired the goldsmiths and the merchants.

33. 33

    וַיְהִיand it came to passכַּאֲשֶׁרasשָׁמַעheardסַנְבַלַּטSanballatכִּי־אֲנַחְנוּbecause weבוֹנִיםwere rebuildingאֶת־הַחוֹמָהthe wallוַיִּחַרand burnedלוֹto himוַיִּכְעַסand he was angryהַרְבֵּהmuchוַיַּלְעֵגand he mockedעַל־הַיְּהוּדִים׃upon the Jews

    But it came to pass, that when Sanballat heard that we builded the wall, he was wroth, and took great indignation, and mocked the Jews.

34. 34

    וַיֹּאמֶרand saidלִפְנֵיbeforeאֶחָיוhis brethrenוְחֵילand the army ofשֹׁמְרוֹןSamariaוַיֹּאמֶרand saidמָהwhatהַיְּהוּדִיםthe Jewsהָאֲמֵלָלִיםthe feebleעֹשִׂיםwhich actהֲיַעַזְבוּwill they fortifyלָהֶםto themהֲיִזְבָּחוּwill they offer sacrificesהַיְכַלּוּwill they finishבַיּוֹםby the dayהַיְחַיּוּwill they reviveאֶת־הָאֲבָנִיםthe stonesמֵעֲרֵמוֹתfrom the heaps ofהֶעָפָרthe dustוְהֵמָּהand they areשְׂרוּפוֹת׃are burned

    And he spake before his brethren and the army of Samaria, and said, What do these feeble Jews? will they fortify themselves? will they sacrifice? will they make an end in a day? will they revive the stones out of the heaps of the rubbish which are burned?

35. 35

    וְטוֹבִיָּהand Tobiahהָעַמֹּנִיthe Ammoniteאֶצְלוֹbeside itוַיֹּאמֶרand saidגַּםalsoאֲשֶׁר־הֵםwhich theyבּוֹנִיםwere buildingאִם־יַעֲלֶהif let ascendשׁוּעָלa foxוּפָרַץand it will break downחוֹמַתthe walls ofאַבְנֵיהֶם׃their stones

    Now Tobiah the Ammonite was by him, and he said, Even that which they build, if a fox go up, he shall even break down their stone wall.

36. 36

    שְׁמַעhearkenאֱלֹהֵינוּour Godכִּי־הָיִינוּbecause we wereבוּזָהcontemptוְהָשֵׁבand returnחֶרְפָּתָםtheir reproachאֶל־רֹאשָׁםupon their own headוּתְנֵםand deliver themלְבִזָּהto plunderבְּאֶרֶץin the land ofשִׁבְיָה׃a group of captives

    Hear, O our God; for we are despised: and turn their reproach upon their own head, and give them for a prey in the land of captivity:

37. 37

    וְאַל־תְּכַסand do not coverעַל־עֲוֺנָםconcerning their iniquityוְחַטָּאתָםand their sinמִלְּפָנֶיךָfrom before youאַל־תִּמָּחֶהdo not it be wiped outכִּיforהִכְעִיסוּthey have provoked to angerלְנֶגֶדbeforeהַבּוֹנִים׃the builders

    And cover not their iniquity, and let not their sin be blotted out from before thee: for they have provoked thee to anger before the builders.

38. 38

    וַנִּבְנֶהand we rebuiltאֶת־הַחוֹמָהthe wallוַתִּקָּשֵׁרand it was joined togetherכׇּל־הַחוֹמָהall the wallעַד־חֶצְיָהּuntil its middleוַיְהִיand it came to passלֵבheartלָעָםto the peopleלַעֲשׂוֹת׃to do

    So built we the wall; and all the wall was joined together unto the half thereof: for the people had a mind to work.
