   Behold upon the mountains the feet of him that bringeth good tidings, that publisheth peace! O Judah, keep thy solemn feasts, perform thy vows: for the wicked shall no more pass through thee; he is utterly cut off.

   He that dasheth in pieces is come up before thy face: keep the munition, watch the way, make thy loins strong, fortify thy power mightily.

   כִּיkiforשָׁבshavhas restoredיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDאֶת־גְּאוֹןet-ge/ONthe pride ofיַעֲקֹבYa/a/KOVJacobכִּגְאוֹןkig/ONas the pride ofיִשְׂרָאֵלYis/ra/ELIsraelכִּיkiforבְקָקוּםve/ka/KUMhave emptied themבֹּקְקִיםbok/KIMthe emptiersוּזְמֹרֵיהֶםu/ze/mo/re/HEMand their vine branchesשִׁחֵתוּ׃shi/CHE/tuhave marred

   For the LORD hath turned away the excellency of Jacob, as the excellency of Israel: for the emptiers have emptied them out, and marred their vine branches.

   The shield of his mighty men is made red, the valiant men are in scarlet: the chariots shall be with flaming torches in the day of his preparation, and the fir trees shall be terribly shaken.

   בַּחוּצוֹתba/chu/TSOTin the streetsיִתְהוֹלְלוּyit/hol/LUrageהָרֶכֶבha/RE/khevthe chariotsיִשְׁתַּקְשְׁקוּןyish/tak/she/KUNjostleבָּרְחֹבוֹתba/re/cho/VOTin the broad waysמַרְאֵיהֶןmar/e/HENtheir appearanceכַּלַּפִּידִיםkal/lap/pi/DIMlike torchesכַּבְּרָקִיםkab/be/ra/KIMlike the lightningsיְרוֹצֵצוּ׃ye/ro/TSE/tsuthey run

   The chariots shall rage in the streets, they shall justle one against another in the broad ways: they shall seem like torches, they shall run like the lightnings.

   יִזְכֹּרyiz/KORhe remembersאַדִּירָיוad/di/RAYVhis worthiesיִכָּשְׁלוּyik/ka/she/LUthey stumble[בַּהֲלִיכָתָם]ba/ha/li/kha/TAMin their walkיְמַהֲרוּye/ma/ha/RUthey hastenחוֹמָתָהּcho/ma/TAto her wallוְהֻכַןve/hu/KHANand is preparedהַסֹּכֵךְ׃has/so/KHEKHthe covering

   He shall recount his worthies: they shall stumble in their walk; they shall make haste to the wall thereof, and the defence shall be prepared.

   שַׁעֲרֵיsha/a/REthe gates ofהַנְּהָרוֹתhan/ne/ha/ROTthe riversנִפְתָּחוּnif/TA/chuare openedוְהַהֵיכָלve/ha/he/KHALand the palaceנָמוֹג׃na/MOGis dissolved

   The gates of the rivers shall be opened, and the palace shall be dissolved.

   וְהֻצַּבve/huts/TSAVand the queenגֻּלְּתָהgul/le/TAis uncoveredהֹעֲלָתָהho/a/LA/tais carried awayוְאַמְהֹתֶיהָve/am/ho/TE/haand her maidsמְנַהֲגוֹתme/na/ha/GOTleading herכְּקוֹלke/KOLas the voice ofיוֹנִיםyo/NIMdovesמְתֹפְפֹתme/tof/FOTbeatingעַל־לִבְבֵהֶן׃al-liv/ve/HENupon their breasts

   And Huzzab shall be led away captive, she shall be brought up, and her maids shall lead her as with the voice of doves, tabering upon their breasts.

   וְנִינְוֵהve/Ni/ne/VEand Ninevehכִבְרֵכַת־מַיִםkhiv/re/KHAT-MA/yimlike a pool of waterמִימֵיMI/mefrom the days ofהִיאhiherוְהֵמָּהve/HEM/maand theyנָסִיםna/SIMfleeעִמְדוּim/DUstandעֲמֹדוּa/MO/dustandוְאֵיןve/ENbut noneמַפְנֶה׃maf/NEturns back

   But Nineveh is of old like a pool of water: yet they shall flee away. Stand, stand, shall they cry; but none shall look back.

    בֹּזּוּBOZ/zuplunderכֶסֶףKHE/sefsilverבֹּזּוּBOZ/zuplunderזָהָבza/HAVgoldוְאֵיןve/ENand there is noקֵצֶהKE/tseendלַתְּכוּנָהlat/te/khu/NAof the storeכָּבֹדka/VODgloryמִכֹּלmik/KOLfrom allכְּלִיke/LIvessels ofחֶמְדָּה׃chem/DAdesire

    Take ye the spoil of silver, take the spoil of gold: for there is none end of the store and glory out of all the pleasant furniture.

    בּוּקָהbu/KAemptyוּמְבוּקָהu/me/vu/KAand voidוּמְבֻלָּקָהu/me/vul/la/KAand wasteוְלֵבve/LEVand the heartנָמֵסna/MESmeltsוּפִקu/FIKand tottering ofבִּרְכַּיִםbir/KA/yimkneesוְחַלְחָלָהve/chal/cha/LAand tremblingבְּכׇל־מׇתְנַיִםbe/KHOL-mot/NA/yimin all loinsוּפְנֵיu/fe/NEand the faces ofכֻלָּםkhul/LAMall of themקִבְּצוּkib/be/TSUgatherפָארוּר׃fa/RURblackness

    She is empty, and void, and waste: and the heart melteth, and the knees smite together, and much pain is in all loins, and the faces of them all gather blackness.

    אַיֵּהay/YEwhere isמְעוֹןme/ONthe den ofאֲרָיוֹתa/ra/YOTthe lionsוּמִרְעֶהu/mir/Eand the feeding placeהוּאhuitלַכְּפִרִיםlak/ke/fi/RIMfor the young lionsאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhereהָלַךְha/LAKHwalkedאַרְיֵהar/YEa lionלָבִיאla/VIthe old lionשָׁםshamthereגּוּרgurthe whelp ofאַרְיֵהar/YEa lionוְאֵיןve/ENand there is noמַחֲרִיד׃ma/cha/RIDmaking afraid

    Where is the dwelling of the lions, and the feedingplace of the young lions, where the lion, even the old lion, walked, and the lion's whelp, and none made them afraid?

    אַרְיֵהar/YEa lionטֹרֵףto/REFtearingבְּדֵיbe/DEenough forגֹרוֹתָיוgo/ro/TAYVhis whelpsוּמְחַנֵּקu/me/chan/NEKand stranglingלְלִבְאֹתָיוle/liv/o/TAYVfor his lionessesוַיְמַלֵּא־טֶרֶףvay/mal/LE-TE/refand filled with preyחֹרָיוcho/RAYVhis holesוּמְעֹנֹתָיוu/me/o/no/TAYVand his densטְרֵפָה׃te/re/FAwith torn prey

    The lion did tear in pieces enough for his whelps, and strangled for his lionesses, and filled his holes with prey, and his dens with ravin.

    הִנְנִיhin/NIbehold Iאֵלַיִךְe/LA/yikhagainst youנְאֻםne/UMsaysיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDצְבָאוֹתTse/va/OTof Hostsוְהִבְעַרְתִּיve/hiv/ar/TIand I will burnבֶעָשָׁןve/a/SHANin smokeרִכְבָּהּrikh/BAher chariotsוּכְפִירַיִךְu/khe/fi/RA/yikhand your young lionsתֹּאכַלto/KHALshall devourחָרֶבCHA/revthe swordוְהִכְרַתִּיve/hikh/rat/TIand I will cut offמֵאֶרֶץme/E/retsfrom the earthטַרְפֵּךְtar/PEKHyour preyוְלֹא־יִשָּׁמַעve/LO-yish/sha/MAand shall not be heardעוֹדodagainקוֹלkolthe voice ofמַלְאָכֵכֵה׃mal/a/KHE/kheyour messengers

    Behold, I am against thee, saith the LORD of hosts, and I will burn her chariots in the smoke, and the sword shall devour thy young lions: and I will cut off thy prey from the earth, and the voice of thy messengers shall no more be heard.
