   וַיֹּסִיפוּvay/yo/SI/fuand againבְּנֵיbe/NEthe children ofיִשְׂרָאֵלYis/ra/ELIsraelלַעֲשׂוֹתla/a/SOTdidהָרַעha/RAthe evilבְּעֵינֵיbe/e/NEin the eyes ofיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDוַיִּתְּנֵםvay/yit/te/NEMand delivered themיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDבְּיַד־פְּלִשְׁתִּיםbe/YAD-pe/lish/TIMinto the hand of the Philistinesאַרְבָּעִיםar/ba/IMfortyשָׁנָה׃sha/NAyears

   And the children of Israel did evil again in the sight of the LORD; and the LORD delivered them into the hand of the Philistines forty years.

   וַיְהִיvay/HIand there wasאִישׁisha manאֶחָדe/CHADcertainמִצׇּרְעָהmits/Tsor/Afrom Zorahמִמִּשְׁפַּחַתmim/mish/PA/chatof the clan ofהַדָּנִיhad/Da/NIthe Danitesוּשְׁמוֹu/she/MOand his nameמָנוֹחַMa/NO/achManoahוְאִשְׁתּוֹve/ish/TOand his wife wasעֲקָרָהa/ka/RAbarrenוְלֹאve/LOand notיָלָדָה׃ya/LA/dahad borne

   And there was a certain man of Zorah, of the family of the Danites, whose name was Manoah; and his wife was barren, and bare not.

   וַיֵּרָאvay/ye/RAand appearedמַלְאַךְ־יְהֹוָהmal/AKH-Adonaithe angel of the LORDאֶל־הָאִשָּׁהel-ha/ish/SHAto the womanוַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand saidאֵלֶיהָe/LE/hato herהִנֵּה־נָאhin/NE-nabehold nowאַתְּ־עֲקָרָהatt-a/ka/RAyou are barrenוְלֹאve/LOand notיָלַדְתְּya/LADThave borneוְהָרִיתve/ha/RITbut you shall conceiveוְיָלַדְתְּve/ya/LADTand bearבֵּן׃bena son

   And the angel of the LORD appeared unto the woman, and said unto her, Behold now, thou art barren, and bearest not: but thou shalt conceive, and bear a son.

   וְעַתָּהve/at/TAand nowהִשָּׁמְרִיhish/SHAM/ribewareנָאnaI prayוְאַל־תִּשְׁתִּיve/AL-tish/TIand do not drinkיַיִןYA/yinwineוְשֵׁכָרve/she/KHARor strong drinkוְאַל־תֹּאכְלִיve/AL-to/khe/LIand do not eatכׇּל־טָמֵא׃kol-ta/MEany unclean thing

   Now therefore beware, I pray thee, and drink not wine nor strong drink, and eat not any unclean thing:

   כִּיkiforהִנָּךְhin/NAKHbehold youהָרָהha/RAshall conceiveוְיֹלַדְתְּve/yo/LADTand bearבֵּןbena sonוּמוֹרָהu/mo/RAand a razorלֹא־יַעֲלֶהlo-ya/a/LEshall not comeעַל־רֹאשׁוֹal-ro/SHOon his headכִּי־נְזִירki-Ne/ZIRfor a Nazirite toאֱלֹהִיםe/lo/HIMGodיִהְיֶהyih/YEshall beהַנַּעַרhan/NA/arthe childמִן־הַבָּטֶןmin-hab/BA/tenfrom the wombוְהוּאve/HUand heיָחֵלya/CHELshall beginלְהוֹשִׁיעַle/ho/SHI/ato deliverאֶת־יִשְׂרָאֵלet-Yis/ra/ELIsraelמִיַּדmiy/YADout of the hand ofפְּלִשְׁתִּים׃Pe/lish/TIMthe Philistines

   For, lo, thou shalt conceive, and bear a son; and no razor shall come on his head: for the child shall be a Nazarite unto God from the womb: and he shall begin to deliver Israel out of the hand of the Philistines.

   וַתָּבֹאvat/ta/VOthen cameהָאִשָּׁהha/ish/SHAthe womanוַתֹּאמֶרvat/TO/merand saidלְאִישָׁהּle/i/SHAto her husbandלֵאמֹרle/MORsayingאִישׁisha man ofהָאֱלֹהִיםha/e/lo/HIMGodבָּאbacameאֵלַיe/LAYto meוּמַרְאֵהוּu/mar/E/huand his countenanceכְּמַרְאֵהke/mar/Ewas like the countenance ofמַלְאַךְmal/AKHthe angel ofהָאֱלֹהִיםha/e/lo/HIMGodנוֹרָאno/RAawesomeמְאֹדme/ODveryוְלֹאve/LObut notשְׁאִלְתִּיהוּshe/il/TI/huI asked himאֵי־מִזֶּהe-miz/ZEwhere fromהוּאhuhe wasוְאֶת־שְׁמוֹve/ET-she/MOand his nameלֹא־הִגִּידlo-hig/GIDdid he tellלִי׃lime

   Then the woman came and told her husband, saying, A man of God came unto me, and his countenance was like the countenance of an angel of God, very terrible: but I asked him not whence he was, neither told he me his name:

   But he said unto me, Behold, thou shalt conceive, and bear a son; and now drink no wine nor strong drink, neither eat any unclean thing: for the child shall be a Nazarite to God from the womb to the day of his death.

   וַיֶּעְתַּרvay/ye/TARthen entreatedמָנוֹחַMa/NO/achManoahאֶל־יְהֹוָהel-Adonaito the LORDוַיֹּאמַרvay/yo/MARand saidבִּיbiOאֲדוֹנָיa/do/NAYmy Lordאִישׁishthe man ofהָאֱלֹהִיםha/e/lo/HIMGodאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhomשָׁלַחְתָּsha/LACH/taYou sentיָבוֹא־נָאya/VO-nalet come I prayעוֹדodagainאֵלֵינוּe/LE/nuto usוְיוֹרֵנוּve/yo/RE/nuand teach usמַה־נַּעֲשֶׂהma-na/a/SEwhat we shall doלַנַּעַרlan/NA/arfor the childהַיּוּלָּד׃hay/yul/LADthat shall be born

   Then Manoah intreated the LORD, and said, O my Lord, let the man of God which thou didst send come again unto us, and teach us what we shall do unto the child that shall be born.

   וַיִּשְׁמַעvay/yish/MAand heardהָאֱלֹהִיםha/e/lo/HIMGodבְּקוֹלbe/KOLto the voice ofמָנוֹחַMa/NO/achManoahוַיָּבֹאvay/ya/VOand cameמַלְאַךְmal/AKHthe angel ofהָאֱלֹהִיםha/e/lo/HIMGodעוֹדodagainאֶל־הָאִשָּׁהel-ha/ish/SHAto the womanוְהִיאve/HIas sheיוֹשֶׁבֶתyo/SHE/vetsatבַּשָּׂדֶהbas/sa/DEin the fieldוּמָנוֹחַu/Ma/NO/achand Manoahאִישָׁהּi/SHAher husbandאֵיןenwas notעִמָּהּ׃im/MAwith her

   And God hearkened to the voice of Manoah; and the angel of God came again unto the woman as she sat in the field: but Manoah her husband was not with her.

    וַתְּמַהֵרvat/te/ma/HERand made hasteהָאִשָּׁהha/ish/SHAthe womanוַתָּרׇץvat/TA/rotsand ranוַתַּגֵּדvat/tag/GEDand toldלְאִישָׁהּle/i/SHAto her husbandוַתֹּאמֶרvat/TO/merand saidאֵלָיוe/LAYVto himהִנֵּהhin/NEbeholdנִרְאָהnir/Ahas appearedאֵלַיe/LAYto meהָאִישׁha/ISHthe manאֲשֶׁר־בָּאa/SHER-bawho cameבַיּוֹםvay/YOMthe other dayאֵלָי׃e/LAYto me

    And the woman made haste, and ran, and shewed her husband, and said unto him, Behold, the man hath appeared unto me, that came unto me the other day.

    וַיָּקׇםvay/YA/komand aroseוַיֵּלֶךְvay/YE/lekhand wentמָנוֹחַMa/NO/achManoahאַחֲרֵיa/cha/REafterאִשְׁתּוֹish/TOhis wifeוַיָּבֹאvay/ya/VOand cameאֶל־הָאִישׁel-ha/ISHto the manוַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand saidלוֹloto himהַאַתָּהha/at/TAare youהָאִישׁha/ISHthe manאֲשֶׁר־דִּבַּרְתָּa/SHER-dib/BAR/tawho spokeאֶל־הָאִשָּׁהel-ha/ish/SHAto the womanוַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand saidאָנִי׃A/niI am

    And Manoah arose, and went after his wife, and came to the man, and said unto him, Art thou the man that spakest unto the woman? And he said, I am.

    וַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand saidמָנוֹחַMa/NO/achManoahעַתָּהat/TAnowיָבֹאya/VOlet comeדְבָרֶיךָde/va/RE/khayour wordsמַה־יִּהְיֶהma-yih/YEwhat shall beמִשְׁפַּט־הַנַּעַרmish/PAT-han/NA/arthe rule for the childוּמַעֲשֵׂהוּ׃u/ma/a/SE/huand his work

    And Manoah said, Now let thy words come to pass. How shall we order the child, and how shall we do unto him?

13. 13

    וַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand saidמַלְאַךְmal/AKHthe angel ofיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDאֶל־מָנוֹחַel-Ma/NO/achto Manoahמִכֹּלmik/KOLof allאֲשֶׁר־אָמַרְתִּיa/SHER-a/MAR/tithat I saidאֶל־הָאִשָּׁהel-ha/ish/SHAto the womanתִּשָּׁמֵר׃tish/sha/MERlet her beware

    And the angel of the LORD said unto Manoah, Of all that I said unto the woman let her beware.

14. 14

    מִכֹּלmik/KOLof allאֲשֶׁר־יֵצֵאa/SHER-ye/TSEthat comesמִגֶּפֶןmig/GE/fenfrom the vine ofהַיַּיִןhay/YA/yinthe grapeלֹאlonotתֹאכַלto/KHALshe may eatוְיַיִןve/YA/yinand wineוְשֵׁכָרve/she/KHARor strong drinkאַל־תֵּשְׁתְּal-teshtlet her not drinkוְכׇל־טֻמְאָהve/KHOL-tum/Aor any unclean thingאַל־תֹּאכַלal-to/KHALlet her not eatכֹּלkolallאֲשֶׁר־צִוִּיתִיהָa/SHER-tsiv/vi/TI/hathat I commanded herתִּשְׁמֹר׃tish/MORlet her observe

    She may not eat of any thing that cometh of the vine, neither let her drink wine or strong drink, nor eat any unclean thing: all that I commanded her let her observe.

15. 15

    וַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand saidמָנוֹחַMa/NO/achManoahאֶל־מַלְאַךְel-mal/AKHto the angel ofיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDנַעְצְרָה־נָּאna/tse/RA-nalet us detain I prayאוֹתָךְo/TAKHyouוְנַעֲשֶׂהve/na/a/SEand make readyלְפָנֶיךָle/fa/NE/khafor youגְּדִיge/DIa kid ofעִזִּים׃iz/ZIMthe goats

    And Manoah said unto the angel of the LORD, I pray thee, let us detain thee, until we shall have made ready a kid for thee.

16. 16

    וַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand saidמַלְאַךְmal/AKHthe angel ofיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDאֶל־מָנוֹחַel-Ma/NO/achto Manoahאִם־תַּעְצְרֵנִיim-ta/tse/RE/nithough you detain meלֹא־אֹכַלlo-o/KHALI will not eatבְּלַחְמֶךָbe/lach/ME/khaof your breadוְאִם־תַּעֲשֶׂהve/IM-ta/a/SEand if you offerעֹלָהo/LAa burnt offeringלַיהֹוָהla-Adonaito the LORDתַּעֲלֶנָּהta/a/LEN/naoffer itכִּיkiforלֹא־יָדַעlo-ya/DAdid not knowמָנוֹחַMa/NO/achManoahכִּי־מַלְאַךְki-mal/AKHthat the angel ofיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDהוּא׃huhe was

    And the angel of the LORD said unto Manoah, Though thou detain me, I will not eat of thy bread: and if thou wilt offer a burnt offering, thou must offer it unto the LORD. For Manoah knew not that he was an angel of the LORD.

17. 17

    וַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand saidמָנוֹחַMa/NO/achManoahאֶל־מַלְאַךְel-mal/AKHto the angel ofיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDמִיmiwhat isשְׁמֶךָshe/ME/khayour nameכִּי־יָבֹאki-ya/VOthat when comes to pass(דבריך)davarayakh[דְבָרְךָ]de/va/re/KHAyour wordוְכִבַּדְנוּךָ׃ve/khib/bad/NU/khawe may honor you

    And Manoah said unto the angel of the LORD, What is thy name, that when thy sayings come to pass we may do thee honour?

18. 18

    וַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand saidלוֹloto himמַלְאַךְmal/AKHthe angel ofיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDלָמָּהLAM/mawhyזֶּהzethisתִּשְׁאַלtish/ALdo you askלִשְׁמִיlish/MIafter my nameוְהוּא־פֶלִאי׃ve/HU-FE/liyseeing it is wonderful

    And the angel of the LORD said unto him, Why askest thou thus after my name, seeing it is secret?

19. 19

    וַיִּקַּחvay/yik/KACHand tookמָנוֹחַMa/NO/achManoahאֶת־גְּדִיet-ge/DIa kid ofהָעִזִּיםha/iz/ZIMthe goatsוְאֶת־הַמִּנְחָהve/ET-ham/min/CHAwith the grain offeringוַיַּעַלvay/YA/aland offeredעַל־הַצּוּרal-hats/TSURupon the rockלַיהֹוָהla-Adonaito the LORDוּמַפְלִאu/maf/LIand did wondrouslyלַעֲשׂוֹתla/a/SOTto doוּמָנוֹחַu/Ma/NO/achand Manoahוְאִשְׁתּוֹve/ish/TOand his wifeרֹאִים׃ro/IMlooked on

    So Manoah took a kid with a meat offering, and offered it upon a rock unto the LORD: and the angel did wondrously; and Manoah and his wife looked on.

    וַיְהִיvay/HIand it came to passבַעֲלוֹתva/a/LOTwhen went upהַלַּהַבhal/LA/havthe flameמֵעַלme/ALfrom offהַמִּזְבֵּחַham/miz/BE/achthe altarהַשָּׁמַיְמָהhash/sha/MAY/matoward heavenוַיַּעַלvay/YA/aland went upמַלְאַךְ־יְהֹוָהmal/AKH-Adonaithe angel of the LORDבְּלַהַבbe/LA/havin the flame ofהַמִּזְבֵּחַham/miz/BE/achthe altarוּמָנוֹחַu/Ma/NO/achand Manoahוְאִשְׁתּוֹve/ish/TOand his wifeרֹאִיםro/IMlooked onוַיִּפְּלוּvay/yip/pe/LUand fellעַל־פְּנֵיהֶםal-pe/ne/HEMon their facesאָרְצָה׃AR/tsato the ground

    For it came to pass, when the flame went up toward heaven from off the altar, that the angel of the LORD ascended in the flame of the altar. And Manoah and his wife looked on it, and fell on their faces to the ground.

21. 21

    וְלֹא־יָסַףve/LO-ya/SAFbut did not againעוֹדodany moreמַלְאַךְmal/AKHthe angel ofיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDלְהֵרָאֹהle/he/ra/Oto appearאֶל־מָנוֹחַel-Ma/NO/achto Manoahוְאֶל־אִשְׁתּוֹve/EL-ish/TOor to his wifeאָזazthenיָדַעya/DAhe knewמָנוֹחַMa/NO/achManoahכִּי־מַלְאַךְki-mal/AKHthat the angel ofיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDהוּא׃huhe was

    But the angel of the LORD did no more appear to Manoah and to his wife. Then Manoah knew that he was an angel of the LORD.

22. 22

    וַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand saidמָנוֹחַMa/NO/achManoahאֶל־אִשְׁתּוֹel-ish/TOto his wifeמוֹתmotdieנָמוּתna/MUTwe shall dieכִּיkiforאֱלֹהִיםe/lo/HIMGodרָאִינוּ׃ra/I/nuwe have seen

    And Manoah said unto his wife, We shall surely die, because we have seen God.

23. 23

    וַתֹּאמֶרvat/TO/merand saidלוֹloto himאִשְׁתּוֹish/TOhis wifeלוּluifחָפֵץcha/FETShad desiredיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDלַהֲמִיתֵנוּla/ha/mi/TE/nuto kill usלֹא־לָקַחlo-la/KACHHe would not have receivedמִיָּדֵנוּmiy/ya/DE/nuat our handsעֹלָהo/LAa burnt offeringוּמִנְחָהu/min/CHAand a grain offeringוְלֹאve/LOneitherהֶרְאָנוּher/A/nuwould He have shown usאֶת־כׇּל־אֵלֶּהet-kol-EL/leall theseוְכָעֵתve/kha/ETnor at this timeלֹאlonotהִשְׁמִיעָנוּhish/mi/A/nuwould He have told usכָּזֹאת׃ka/ZOTsuch things as these

    But his wife said unto him, If the LORD were pleased to kill us, he would not have received a burnt offering and a meat offering at our hands, neither would he have shewed us all these things, nor would as at this time have told us such things as these.

24. 24

    וַתֵּלֶדvat/TE/ledand boreהָאִשָּׁהha/ish/SHAthe womanבֵּןbena sonוַתִּקְרָאvat/tik/RAand calledאֶת־שְׁמוֹet-she/MOhis nameשִׁמְשׁוֹןShim/SHONSamsonוַיִּגְדַּלvay/yig/DALand grewהַנַּעַרhan/NA/arthe childוַיְבָרְכֵהוּvay/va/re/KHE/huand blessed himיְהֹוָה׃Adonaithe LORD

    And the woman bare a son, and called his name Samson: and the child grew, and the LORD blessed him.

25. 25

    וַתָּחֶלvat/TA/cheland beganרוּחַRU/achthe Spirit ofיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDלְפַעֲמוֹle/fa/a/MOto move himבְּמַחֲנֵה־דָןbe/Ma/cha/NE-danin the camp of DanבֵּיןbenbetweenצׇרְעָהTsor/AZorahוּבֵיןu/VENand betweenאֶשְׁתָּאֹל׃Esh/ta/OLEshtaol

    And the Spirit of the LORD began to move him at times in the camp of Dan between Zorah and Eshtaol.
