   This then was the lot of the tribe of the children of Judah by their families; even to the border of Edom the wilderness of Zin southward was the uttermost part of the south coast.

   וַיְהִיvay/HIand wasלָהֶםla/HEMtheirגְּבוּלge/VULborder ofנֶגֶבNE/gevthe southמִקְצֵהmik/TSEfrom the end ofיָםYamthe Sea ofהַמֶּלַחHam/ME/lachSaltמִן־הַלָּשֹׁןmin-hal/la/SHONfrom the bayהַפֹּנֶהhap/po/NEthat facesנֶגְבָּה׃NEG/basouthward

   And their south border was from the shore of the salt sea, from the bay that looketh southward:

   וְיָצָאve/ya/TSAand went outאֶל־מִנֶּגֶבel-min/NE/gevto the south sideלְמַעֲלֵהle/ma/a/LEof the ascent ofעַקְרַבִּיםAk/rab/BIMAkrabbimוְעָבַרve/a/VARand passed alongצִנָהTSI/nato Zinוְעָלָהve/a/LAand went upמִנֶּגֶבmin/NE/gevon the southלְקָדֵשׁle/Ka/DESHof Kadesh-בַּרְנֵעַbar/NE/abarneaוְעָבַרve/a/VARand passed alongחֶצְרוֹןChets/RONto Hezronוְעָלָהve/a/LAand went upאַדָּרָהAd/DA/rato Addarוְנָסַבve/na/SAVand turnedהַקַּרְקָעָה׃hak/Kar/KA/ato Karka

   And it went out to the south side to Maaleh-acrabbim, and passed along to Zin, and ascended up on the south side unto Kadesh-barnea, and passed along to Hezron, and went up to Adar, and fetched a compass to Karkaa:

   From thence it passed toward Azmon, and went out unto the river of Egypt; and the goings out of that coast were at the sea: this shall be your south coast.

   And the east border was the salt sea, even unto the end of Jordan. And their border in the north quarter was from the bay of the sea at the uttermost part of Jordan:

   וְעָלָהve/a/LAand went upהַגְּבוּלhag/ge/VULthe borderבֵּיתBetBeth-חׇגְלָהchog/LAhoglahוְעָבַרve/a/VARand passed alongמִצְּפוֹןmits/tse/FONon the north ofלְבֵיתLe/VETBeth-הָעֲרָבָהha/a/ra/VAarabahוְעָלָהve/a/LAand went upהַגְּבוּלhag/ge/VULthe borderאֶבֶןE/vento the stone ofבֹּהַןBO/hanBohanבֶּן־רְאוּבֵן׃ben-Re/u/VENthe son of Reuben

   And the border went up to Beth-hogla, and passed along by the north of Beth-arabah; and the border went up to the stone of Bohan the son of Reuben:

   And the border went up toward Debir from the valley of Achor, and so northward, looking toward Gilgal, that is before the going up to Adummim, which is on the south side of the river: and the border passed toward the waters of En-shemesh, and the goings out thereof were at En-rogel:

   And the border went up by the valley of the son of Hinnom unto the south side of the Jebusite; the same is Jerusalem: and the border went up to the top of the mountain that lieth before the valley of Hinnom westward, which is at the end of the valley of the giants northward:

   וְתָאַרve/ta/ARand was drawnהַגְּבוּלhag/ge/VULthe borderמֵרֹאשׁme/ROSHfrom the top ofהָהָרha/HARthe mountainאֶל־מַעְיַןel-ma/YANto the spring ofמֵיmethe waters ofנֶפְתּוֹחַNef/TO/achNephtoahוְיָצָאve/ya/TSAand went outאֶל־עָרֵיel-a/REto the cities ofהַר־עֶפְרוֹןHar-ef/RONMount Ephronוְתָאַרve/ta/ARand was drawnהַגְּבוּלhag/ge/VULthe borderבַּעֲלָהba/A/LAto Baalahהִיאhiwhich isקִרְיַתKir/YATKiriath-יְעָרִים׃ye/a/RIMjearim

   And the border was drawn from the top of the hill unto the fountain of the water of Nephtoah, and went out to the cities of mount Ephron; and the border was drawn to Baalah, which is Kirjath-jearim:

    וְנָסַבve/na/SAVand turnedהַגְּבוּלhag/ge/VULthe borderמִבַּעֲלָהmib/Ba/a/LAfrom BaalahיָמָּהYAM/mawestwardאֶל־הַרel-Harto MountשֵׂעִירSe/IRSeirוְעָבַרve/a/VARand passed alongאֶל־כֶּתֶףel-KE/tefto the side ofהַר־יְעָרִיםHar-ye/a/RIMMount Jearimמִצָּפוֹנָהmits/tsa/FO/naon the northהִיאhiwhich isכְסָלוֹןKhe/sa/LONChesalonוְיָרַדve/ya/RADand went downבֵּית־שֶׁמֶשׁbet-SHE/meshto Beth-shemeshוְעָבַרve/a/VARand passed alongתִּמְנָה׃Tim/NAto Timnah

    And the border compassed from Baalah westward unto mount Seir, and passed along unto the side of mount Jearim, which is Chesalon, on the north side, and went down to Beth-shemesh, and passed on to Timnah:

    וְיָצָאve/ya/TSAand went outהַגְּבוּלhag/ge/VULthe borderאֶל־כֶּתֶףel-KE/tefto the side ofעֶקְרוֹןEk/RONEkronצָפוֹנָהtsa/FO/nanorthwardוְתָאַרve/ta/ARand was drawnהַגְּבוּלhag/ge/VULthe borderשִׁכְּרוֹנָהShik/ke/RO/nato Shicronוְעָבַרve/a/VARand passed alongהַר־הַבַּעֲלָהHar-hab/ba/a/LAMount Baalahוְיָצָאve/ya/TSAand went outיַבְנְאֵלYav/ne/ELto Jabneelוְהָיוּve/ha/YUand wereתֹּצְאוֹתtots/OTthe goings out ofהַגְּבוּלhag/ge/VULthe borderיָמָּה׃YAM/maat the sea

    And the border went out unto the side of Ekron northward: and the border was drawn to Shicron, and passed along to mount Baalah, and went out unto Jabneel; and the goings out of the border were at the sea.

    וּגְבוּלu/ge/VULand the border ofיָםyamthe westהַיָּמָּהhay/YAM/mawas the seaהַגָּדוֹלhag/ga/DOLthe greatוּגְבוּלu/ge/VULand its coastזֶהzethis isגְּבוּלge/VULthe border ofבְּנֵי־יְהוּדָהbe/NE-ye/hu/DAthe children of Judahסָבִיבsa/VIVall aroundלְמִשְׁפְּחֹתָם׃le/mish/pe/cho/TAMby their families

    And the west border was to the great sea, and the coast thereof. This is the coast of the children of Judah round about according to their families.

    וּלְכָלֵבu/Le/kha/LEVand to Calebבֶּן־יְפֻנֶּהben-Ye/fun/NEthe son of Jephunnehנָתַןna/TANhe gaveחֵלֶקCHE/leka portionבְּתוֹךְbe/TOKHamongבְּנֵי־יְהוּדָהbe/NE-ye/hu/DAthe children of Judahאֶל־פִּיel-piaccording to the command ofיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDלִיהוֹשֻׁעַlI/ho/SHU/ato Joshuaאֶת־קִרְיַתet-Kir/YATKiriath-אַרְבַּעar/BAarbaאֲבִיa/VIthe father ofהָעֲנָקHa/a/NAKAnakהִיאhiwhich isחֶבְרוֹן׃Chev/RONHebron

    And unto Caleb the son of Jephunneh he gave a part among the children of Judah, according to the commandment of the LORD to Joshua, even the city of Arba the father of Anak, which city is Hebron.

    וַיֹּרֶשׁvay/YO/reshand drove outמִשָּׁםmish/SHAMfrom thereכָּלֵבKa/LEVCalebאֶת־שְׁלוֹשָׁהet-she/lo/SHAthreeבְּנֵיbe/NEthe sons ofהָעֲנָקHa/a/NAKAnakאֶת־שֵׁשַׁיet-She/SHAYSheshaiוְאֶת־אֲחִימַןve/ET-a/chi/MANand Ahimanוְאֶת־תַּלְמַיve/ET-tal/MAYand Talmaiיְלִידֵיye/li/DEthe children ofהָעֲנָק׃Ha/a/NAKAnak

    And Caleb drove thence the three sons of Anak, Sheshai, and Ahiman, and Talmai, the children of Anak.

    וַיַּעַלvay/YA/aland went upמִשָּׁםmish/SHAMfrom thereאֶל־יֹשְׁבֵיel-yosh/VEagainst the inhabitants ofדְּבִרDe/VIRDebirוְשֵׁם־דְּבִרve/SHEM-de/VIRnow the name of Debirלְפָנִיםle/fa/NIMbeforeקִרְיַת־סֵפֶר׃Kir/YAT-SE/ferKiriath-sepher

    And he went up thence to the inhabitants of Debir: and the name of Debir before was Kirjath-sepher.

16. 16

    וַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand saidכָּלֵבKa/LEVCalebאֲשֶׁר־יַכֶּהa/SHER-yak/KEhe who strikesאֶת־קִרְיַת־סֵפֶרet-Kir/YAT-SE/ferKiriath-sepherוּלְכָדָהּu/le/kha/DAand takes itוְנָתַתִּיve/na/tat/TII will giveלוֹloto himאֶת־עַכְסָהet-Akh/SAAchsahבִתִּיvit/TImy daughterלְאִשָּׁה׃le/ish/SHAas wife

    And Caleb said, He that smiteth Kirjath-sepher, and taketh it, to him will I give Achsah my daughter to wife.

    וַיִּלְכְּדָהּvay/yil/ke/DAand took itעׇתְנִיאֵלOt/ni/ELOthnielבֶּן־קְנַזben-Ke/NAZthe son of Kenazאֲחִיa/CHIthe brother ofכָלֵבKha/LEVCalebוַיִּתֶּן־לוֹvay/YIT/ten-loand he gave himאֶת־עַכְסָהet-Akh/SAAchsahבִתּוֹvit/TOhis daughterלְאִשָּׁה׃le/ish/SHAas wife

    And Othniel the son of Kenaz, the brother of Caleb, took it: and he gave him Achsah his daughter to wife.

    וַיְהִיvay/HIand it came to passבְּבוֹאָהּbe/vo/Awhen she cameוַתְּסִיתֵהוּvat/te/si/TE/huthat she urged himלִשְׁאוֹלlish/OLto askמֵאֵת־אָבִיהָme/ET-a/VI/haof her fatherשָׂדֶהsa/DEa fieldוַתִּצְנַחvat/tits/NACHand she got downמֵעַלme/ALfromהַחֲמוֹרha/cha/MORthe donkeyוַיֹּאמֶר־לָהּvay/YO/mer-laand said to herכָּלֵבKa/LEVCalebמַה־לָּךְ׃ma-lakhwhat do you wish

    And it came to pass, as she came unto him, that she moved him to ask of her father a field: and she lighted off her ass; and Caleb said unto her, What wouldest thou?

    וַתֹּאמֶרvat/TO/merand saidתְּנָה־לִּיte/NA-ligive meבְרָכָהve/ra/KHAa blessingכִּיkiforאֶרֶץE/retsland ofהַנֶּגֶבhan/NE/gevthe Negevנְתַתָּנִיne/tat/TA/niyou have given meוְנָתַתָּהve/na/tat/TAgiveלִיlimeגֻּלֹּתgul/LOTsprings ofמָיִםMA/yimwaterוַיִּתֶּן־לָהּvay/YIT/ten-laand he gave herאֵת־גֻּלֹּתet-gul/LOTthe springsעִלִּיּוֹתil/liy/YOTupperוְאֵתve/ETandגֻּלֹּתgul/LOTthe springsתַּחְתִּיּוֹת׃tach/tiy/YOTlower

    Who answered, Give me a blessing; for thou hast given me a south land; give me also springs of water. And he gave her the upper springs, and the nether springs.

    זֹאתzotthis isנַחֲלַתna/cha/LATthe inheritance ofמַטֵּהmat/TEthe tribe ofבְנֵי־יְהוּדָהve/NE-ye/hu/DAthe children of Judahלְמִשְׁפְּחֹתָם׃le/mish/pe/cho/TAMby their families

    This is the inheritance of the tribe of the children of Judah according to their families.

21. 21

    וַיִּהְיוּvay/yih/YUand wereהֶעָרִיםhe/a/RIMthe citiesמִקְצֵהmik/TSEat the end ofלְמַטֵּהle/mat/TEof the tribe ofבְנֵי־יְהוּדָהve/NE-ye/hu/DAthe children of Judahאֶל־גְּבוּלel-ge/VULto the border ofאֱדוֹםE/DOMEdomבַּנֶּגְבָּהban/NEG/bain the NegevקַבְצְאֵלKav/tse/ELKabzeelוְעֵדֶרve/E/derand Ederוְיָגוּר׃ve/Ya/GURand Jagur

    And the uttermost cities of the tribe of the children of Judah toward the coast of Edom southward were Kabzeel, and Eder, and Jagur,

    וְקִינָהve/Ki/NAand Kinahוְדִימוֹנָהve/Di/mo/NAand Dimonahוְעַדְעָדָה׃ve/Ad/a/DAand Adadah

    And Kinah, and Dimonah, and Adadah,

23. 23

    וְקֶדֶשׁve/KE/deshand Kedeshוְחָצוֹרve/Cha/TSORand Hazorוְיִתְנָן׃ve/Yit/NANand Ithnan

    And Kedesh, and Hazor, and Ithnan,

24. 24

    זִיףZifZiphוָטֶלֶםva/TE/lemand Telemוּבְעָלוֹת׃u/ve/A/LOTand Bealoth

    Ziph, and Telem, and Bealoth,

25. 25

    וְחָצוֹרve/Cha/TSORand HazorחֲדַתָּהCha/dat/TAHadattahוּקְרִיּוֹתu/Ke/riy/YOTand KeriothחֶצְרוֹןChets/RONHezronהִיאhiwhich isחָצוֹר׃Cha/TSORHazor

    And Hazor, Hadattah, and Kerioth, and Hezron, which is Hazor,

    Amam, and Shema, and Moladah,

    And Hazar-gaddah, and Heshmon, and Beth-palet,

    וַחֲצַרva/Cha/TSARand Hazar-שׁוּעָלshu/ALshualוּבְאֵרu/ve/ERand Beer-שֶׁבַעSHE/vashebaוּבִזְיוֹתְיָה׃u/Viz/yot/YAand Biziothiah

    And Hazar-shual, and Beer-sheba, and Bizjothjah,

    בַּעֲלָהBa/a/LABaalahוְעִיִּיםve/Iy/YIMand Iimוָעָצֶם׃va/A/tsemand Ezem

    Baalah, and Iim, and Azem,

30. 30

    וְאֶלְתּוֹלַדve/El/to/LADand Eltoladוּכְסִילu/Khe/SILand Chesilוְחׇרְמָה׃ve/Chor/MAand Hormah

    And Eltolad, and Chesil, and Hormah,

    וְצִקְלַגve/Tsik/LAGand Ziklagוּמַדְמַנָּהu/Mad/man/NAand Madmannahוְסַנְסַנָּה׃ve/San/san/NAand Sansannah

    And Ziklag, and Madmannah, and Sansannah,

    And Zanoah, and En-gannim, Tappuah, and Enam,

    Jarmuth, and Adullam, Socoh, and Azekah,

    And Jiphtah, and Ashnah, and Nezib,

    From Ekron even unto the sea, all that lay near Ashdod, with their villages:

    Ashdod with her towns and her villages, Gaza with her towns and her villages, unto the river of Egypt, and the great sea, and the border thereof:

    And Anab, and Eshtemoh, and Anim,

    As for the Jebusites the inhabitants of Jerusalem, the children of Judah could not drive them out: but the Jebusites dwell with the children of Judah at Jerusalem unto this day.
