   וַיְהִיand it came to passהַגּוֹרָלthe lotלְמַטֵּהof the tribe ofבְּנֵיthe sons ofיְהוּדָהJudahלְמִשְׁפְּחֹתָםto their familiesאֶל־גְּבוּלto the border ofאֱדוֹםEdomמִדְבַּר־צִןthe wilderness of Zinנֶגְבָּהsouthwardמִקְצֵהfrom the end ofתֵימָן׃the south

   This then was the lot of the tribe of the children of Judah by their families; even to the border of Edom the wilderness of Zin southward was the uttermost part of the south coast.

   וַיְהִיand it came to passלָהֶםto themגְּבוּלborder ofנֶגֶבsouthמִקְצֵהfrom the end ofיָםthe seaהַמֶּלַחthe saltמִן־הַלָּשֹׁןfrom the bayהַפֹּנֶהthe one which facesנֶגְבָּה׃southward

   And their south border was from the shore of the salt sea, from the bay that looketh southward:

   וְיָצָאand shall come forthאֶל־מִנֶּגֶבto the south sideלְמַעֲלֵהto the ascent ofעַקְרַבִּיםAkrabbimוְעָבַרand passed throughצִנָהto Zinוְעָלָהand he shall come upמִנֶּגֶבfrom southלְקָדֵשׁof KadeshבַּרְנֵעַBarneaוְעָבַרand passed throughחֶצְרוֹןHezronוְעָלָהand he shall come upאַדָּרָהto Addarוְנָסַבand it will turnהַקַּרְקָעָה׃to Karkaa

   And it went out to the south side to Maaleh-acrabbim, and passed along to Zin, and ascended up on the south side unto Kadesh-barnea, and passed along to Hezron, and went up to Adar, and fetched a compass to Karkaa:

   וְעָבַרand passed throughעַצְמוֹנָהto Azmonוְיָצָאand shall come forthנַחַלthe riverמִצְרַיִםEgypt(והיה)[וְהָיוּ]and beתֹּצְאוֹתthe extremities ofהַגְּבוּלthe border ofיָמָּהwestwardזֶה־יִהְיֶהthis he shall beלָכֶםto youגְּבוּלborder ofנֶגֶב׃south

   From thence it passed toward Azmon, and went out unto the river of Egypt; and the goings out of that coast were at the sea: this shall be your south coast.

   וּגְבוּלand the border ofקֵדְמָהon the eastיָםthe seaהַמֶּלַחthe saltעַד־קְצֵהunto the ends ofהַיַּרְדֵּןthe Jordanוּגְבוּלand the border ofלִפְאַתfor the side ofצָפוֹנָהnorthwardמִלְּשׁוֹןfrom the bay ofהַיָּםthe seaמִקְצֵהfrom the end ofהַיַּרְדֵּן׃the Jordan

   And the east border was the salt sea, even unto the end of Jordan. And their border in the north quarter was from the bay of the sea at the uttermost part of Jordan:

   וְעָלָהand he shall come upהַגְּבוּלthe border ofבֵּיתBeth-חׇגְלָהhoglahוְעָבַרand passed throughמִצְּפוֹןon the north ofלְבֵיתBeth-הָעֲרָבָהarabahוְעָלָהand he shall come upהַגְּבוּלthe border ofאֶבֶןstoneבֹּהַןBohanבֶּן־רְאוּבֵן׃son of Reuben

   And the border went up to Beth-hogla, and passed along by the north of Beth-arabah; and the border went up to the stone of Bohan the son of Reuben:

   וְעָלָהand he shall come upהַגְּבוּלthe border ofדְּבִרָהto Debirמֵעֵמֶקfrom the valley ofעָכוֹרAchorוְצָפוֹנָהand northwardפֹּנֶהturnedאֶל־הַגִּלְגָּלto Gilgalאֲשֶׁר־נֹכַחwhich is oppositeלְמַעֲלֵהto the ascent ofאֲדֻמִּיםAdummimאֲשֶׁרwhichמִנֶּגֶבfrom southלַנָּחַלof the riverוְעָבַרand passed throughהַגְּבוּלthe border ofאֶל־מֵי־עֵיןto the waters of Enשֶׁמֶשׁshemeshוְהָיוּthen they shall beתֹצְאֹתָיוits extremitiesאֶל־עֵיןto En-רֹגֵל׃rogel

   And the border went up toward Debir from the valley of Achor, and so northward, looking toward Gilgal, that is before the going up to Adummim, which is on the south side of the river: and the border passed toward the waters of En-shemesh, and the goings out thereof were at En-rogel:

   וְעָלָהand he shall come upהַגְּבוּלthe border ofגֵּיthe valley ofבֶן־הִנֹּםson of Hinnomאֶל־כֶּתֶףto the shoulder ofהַיְבוּסִיthe Jebusiteמִנֶּגֶבfrom southהִיאit isיְרוּשָׁלָ͏ִםJerusalemוְעָלָהand he shall come upהַגְּבוּלthe border ofאֶל־רֹאשׁto the head ofהָהָרthe mountainאֲשֶׁרwhichעַל־פְּנֵיupon the face ofגֵי־הִנֹּםthe valley of Hinnomיָמָּהwestwardאֲשֶׁרwhichבִּקְצֵהof end ofעֵמֶק־רְפָאִיםthe valley of Rephaimצָפוֹנָה׃northward

   And the border went up by the valley of the son of Hinnom unto the south side of the Jebusite; the same is Jerusalem: and the border went up to the top of the mountain that lieth before the valley of Hinnom westward, which is at the end of the valley of the giants northward:

   וְתָאַרand it turnsהַגְּבוּלthe border ofמֵרֹאשׁfrom the beginningהָהָרthe mountainאֶל־מַעְיַןto a fountain ofמֵיthe waters ofנֶפְתּוֹחַNephtoahוְיָצָאand shall come forthאֶל־עָרֵיto the cities ofהַר־עֶפְרוֹןmount Ephronוְתָאַרand it turnsהַגְּבוּלthe border ofבַּעֲלָהBaalahהִיאit isקִרְיַתKiriath-יְעָרִים׃jearim

   And the border was drawn from the top of the hill unto the fountain of the water of Nephtoah, and went out to the cities of mount Ephron; and the border was drawn to Baalah, which is Kirjath-jearim:

    וְנָסַבand it will turnהַגְּבוּלthe border ofמִבַּעֲלָהfrom Baalahיָמָּהwestwardאֶל־הַרto the mountain ofשֵׂעִירSeirוְעָבַרand passed throughאֶל־כֶּתֶףto the shoulder ofהַר־יְעָרִיםmount Jearimמִצָּפוֹנָהfrom northwardהִיאit isכְסָלוֹןis Kesalonוְיָרַדand go downבֵּית־שֶׁמֶשׁBeth-shemeshוְעָבַרand passed throughתִּמְנָה׃Timnah

    And the border compassed from Baalah westward unto mount Seir, and passed along unto the side of mount Jearim, which is Chesalon, on the north side, and went down to Beth-shemesh, and passed on to Timnah:

11. 11

    וְיָצָאand shall come forthהַגְּבוּלthe border ofאֶל־כֶּתֶףto the shoulder ofעֶקְרוֹןEkronצָפוֹנָהnorthwardוְתָאַרand it turnsהַגְּבוּלthe border ofשִׁכְּרוֹנָהto Shikkeronוְעָבַרand passed throughהַר־הַבַּעֲלָהthe mount Baalahוְיָצָאand shall come forthיַבְנְאֵלJabneelוְהָיוּthen they shall beתֹּצְאוֹתthe extremities ofהַגְּבוּלthe border ofיָמָּה׃westward

    And the border went out unto the side of Ekron northward: and the border was drawn to Shicron, and passed along to mount Baalah, and went out unto Jabneel; and the goings out of the border were at the sea.

    וּגְבוּלand the border ofיָםthe seaהַיָּמָּהto the seaהַגָּדוֹלthe greatוּגְבוּלand the border ofזֶהthisגְּבוּלborder ofבְּנֵי־יְהוּדָהsons of Judahסָבִיבall aroundלְמִשְׁפְּחֹתָם׃to their families

    And the west border was to the great sea, and the coast thereof. This is the coast of the children of Judah round about according to their families.

13. 13

    וּלְכָלֵבand to Calebבֶּן־יְפֻנֶּהson of Jephunnehנָתַןgaveחֵלֶקpartבְּתוֹךְamongבְּנֵי־יְהוּדָהsons of Judahאֶל־פִּיaccording to the commandment ofיְהֹוָהthe LORDלִיהוֹשֻׁעַJoshuaאֶת־קִרְיַתKiriath-אַרְבַּעarbaאֲבִיthe father ofהָעֲנָקthe Anakהִיאit isחֶבְרוֹן׃Hebron

    And unto Caleb the son of Jephunneh he gave a part among the children of Judah, according to the commandment of the LORD to Joshua, even the city of Arba the father of Anak, which city is Hebron.

14. 14

    וַיֹּרֶשׁand he dispossessedמִשָּׁםfrom thereכָּלֵבCalebאֶת־שְׁלוֹשָׁהthreeבְּנֵיthe sons ofהָעֲנָקthe Anakאֶת־שֵׁשַׁיSheshaiוְאֶת־אֲחִימַןand Ahimanוְאֶת־תַּלְמַיand Talmaiיְלִידֵיthose born ofהָעֲנָק׃the Anak

    And Caleb drove thence the three sons of Anak, Sheshai, and Ahiman, and Talmai, the children of Anak.

15. 15

    וַיַּעַלand he ascendedמִשָּׁםfrom thereאֶל־יֹשְׁבֵיto inhabitants ofדְּבִרDebirוְשֵׁם־דְּבִרand the name of Debirלְפָנִיםformerlyקִרְיַת־סֵפֶר׃Kiriath-sepher

    And he went up thence to the inhabitants of Debir: and the name of Debir before was Kirjath-sepher.

16. 16

    וַיֹּאמֶרand saidכָּלֵבCalebאֲשֶׁר־יַכֶּהwhich will smiteאֶת־קִרְיַת־סֵפֶרKiriath-sepherוּלְכָדָהּand he will capture itוְנָתַתִּיand I will giveלוֹto himאֶת־עַכְסָהAchsahבִתִּיmy daughterלְאִשָּׁה׃for wife

    And Caleb said, He that smiteth Kirjath-sepher, and taketh it, to him will I give Achsah my daughter to wife.

17. 17

    וַיִּלְכְּדָהּand he captured itעׇתְנִיאֵלOthnielבֶּן־קְנַזson of Kenazאֲחִיthe brother ofכָלֵבCalebוַיִּתֶּן־לוֹand gave to himאֶת־עַכְסָהAchsahבִתּוֹhis daughterלְאִשָּׁה׃for wife

    And Othniel the son of Kenaz, the brother of Caleb, took it: and he gave him Achsah his daughter to wife.

18. 18

    וַיְהִיand it came to passבְּבוֹאָהּwhen she cameוַתְּסִיתֵהוּand she incited himלִשְׁאוֹלto askמֵאֵת־אָבִיהָof her fatherשָׂדֶהfieldוַתִּצְנַחand she went downמֵעַלfrom uponהַחֲמוֹרthe donkeyוַיֹּאמֶר־לָהּand he said to herכָּלֵבCalebמַה־לָּךְ׃what to you

    And it came to pass, as she came unto him, that she moved him to ask of her father a field: and she lighted off her ass; and Caleb said unto her, What wouldest thou?

19. 19

    וַתֹּאמֶרand saidתְּנָה־לִּיgive to meבְרָכָהa blessingכִּיforאֶרֶץthe land ofהַנֶּגֶבthe southנְתַתָּנִיyou have given to meוְנָתַתָּהand you shall giveלִיto meגֻּלֹּתthe springsמָיִםof waterוַיִּתֶּן־לָהּand he gave herאֵת־גֻּלֹּתthe springsעִלִּיּוֹתupperוְאֵתandגֻּלֹּתthe springsתַּחְתִּיּוֹת׃nether

    Who answered, Give me a blessing; for thou hast given me a south land; give me also springs of water. And he gave her the upper springs, and the nether springs.

20. 20

    זֹאתthisנַחֲלַתthe inheritance ofמַטֵּהthe tribe ofבְנֵי־יְהוּדָהsons of Judahלְמִשְׁפְּחֹתָם׃to their families

    This is the inheritance of the tribe of the children of Judah according to their families.

21. 21

    וַיִּהְיוּand they wereהֶעָרִיםthe citiesמִקְצֵהfrom the end ofלְמַטֵּהof the tribe ofבְנֵי־יְהוּדָהsons of Judahאֶל־גְּבוּלto the border ofאֱדוֹםEdomבַּנֶּגְבָּהin the southקַבְצְאֵלKabzeelוְעֵדֶרand Ederוְיָגוּר׃and Jagur

    And the uttermost cities of the tribe of the children of Judah toward the coast of Edom southward were Kabzeel, and Eder, and Jagur,

22. 22

    וְקִינָהand Kinahוְדִימוֹנָהand Dimonahוְעַדְעָדָה׃and Adadah

    And Kinah, and Dimonah, and Adadah,

23. 23

    וְקֶדֶשׁand Kedeshוְחָצוֹרand Hazorוְיִתְנָן׃and Ithnan

    And Kedesh, and Hazor, and Ithnan,

24. 24

    זִיףZiphוָטֶלֶםand Telemוּבְעָלוֹת׃and Bealoth

    Ziph, and Telem, and Bealoth,

25. 25

    וְחָצוֹרand HazorחֲדַתָּהHadattahוּקְרִיּוֹתand KeriothחֶצְרוֹןHezronהִיאit isחָצוֹר׃Hazor

    And Hazor, Hadattah, and Kerioth, and Hezron, which is Hazor,

    אֲמָםAmamוּשְׁמַעand Shemaוּמוֹלָדָה׃and Moladah

    Amam, and Shema, and Moladah,

    וַחֲצַרand HazarגַּדָּהGaddahוְחֶשְׁמוֹןand Heshmonוּבֵיתand Beth-פָּלֶט׃pelet

    And Hazar-gaddah, and Heshmon, and Beth-palet,

    וַחֲצַרand HazarשׁוּעָלShualוּבְאֵרand Beerשֶׁבַעshebaוּבִזְיוֹתְיָה׃and Biziothiah

    And Hazar-shual, and Beer-sheba, and Bizjothjah,

    Baalah, and Iim, and Azem,

    וְאֶלְתּוֹלַדand Eltoladוּכְסִילand Kesilוְחׇרְמָה׃and Hormah

    And Eltolad, and Chesil, and Hormah,

    וְצִקְלַגand Ziklagוּמַדְמַנָּהand Madmannahוְסַנְסַנָּה׃and Sansannah

    And Lebaoth, and Shilhim, and Ain, and Rimmon: all the cities are twenty and nine, with their villages:

    בַּשְּׁפֵלָהin the ShephelahאֶשְׁתָּאוֹלEshtaolוְצׇרְעָהand Zorahוְאַשְׁנָה׃and Ashnah

    And in the valley, Eshtaol, and Zoreah, and Ashnah,

34. 34

    וְזָנוֹחַand Zanoahוְעֵיןand En-גַּנִּיםgannimתַּפּוּחַTappuahוְהָעֵינָם׃and Enam

    And Zanoah, and En-gannim, Tappuah, and Enam,

35. 35

    יַרְמוּתJarmuthוַעֲדֻלָּםand AdullamשׂוֹכֹהShochoוַעֲזֵקָה׃and Azekah

    Jarmuth, and Adullam, Socoh, and Azekah,

36. 36

    וְשַׁעֲרַיִםand Shaaraimוַעֲדִיתַיִםand Adithaimוְהַגְּדֵרָהand Gederahוּגְדֵרֹתָיִםand Gederothaimעָרִיםcitiesאַרְבַּע־עֶשְׂרֵהfourteenוְחַצְרֵיהֶן׃and their villages

    צְנָןZenanוַחֲדָשָׁהand Hadashahוּמִגְדַּל־גָּד׃and Migdal-Gad

    Zenan, and Hadashah, and Migdal-gad,

    וְדִלְעָןand Dileanוְהַמִּצְפֶּהand Mizpahוְיׇקְתְאֵל׃and Joktheel

    And Dilean, and Mizpeh, and Joktheel,

    לָכִישׁLachishוּבׇצְקַתand Bozkathוְעֶגְלוֹן׃and Eglon

    Lachish, and Bozkath, and Eglon,

    וְכַבּוֹןand Cabbonוְלַחְמָסand Lahmasוְכִתְלִישׁ׃and Kitlish

    And Cabbon, and Lahmam, and Kithlish,

    And Gederoth, Beth-dagon, and Naamah, and Makkedah; sixteen cities with their villages:

    לִבְנָהLibnahוָעֶתֶרand Etherוְעָשָׁן׃and Ashan

    Libnah, and Ether, and Ashan,

43. 43

    וְיִפְתָּחand Iphtahוְאַשְׁנָהand Ashnahוּנְצִיב׃and Nezib

    And Jiphtah, and Ashnah, and Nezib,

44. 44

    וּקְעִילָהand Keilahוְאַכְזִיבand Achzibוּמָרֵאשָׁהand Mareshahעָרִיםcitiesתֵּשַׁעnineוְחַצְרֵיהֶן׃and their villages

    And Keilah, and Achzib, and Mareshah; nine cities with their villages:

    עֶקְרוֹןEkronוּבְנֹתֶיהָand her daughtersוַחֲצֵרֶיהָ׃and its villages

    Ekron, with her towns and her villages:

    מֵעֶקְרוֹןfrom Ekronוָיָמָּהand westwardכֹּלallאֲשֶׁר־עַל־יַדwhich upon the hand ofאַשְׁדּוֹדAshdodוְחַצְרֵיהֶן׃and their villages

    From Ekron even unto the sea, all that lay near Ashdod, with their villages:

    אַשְׁדּוֹדAshdodבְּנוֹתֶיהָits daughtersוַחֲצֵרֶיהָand its villagesעַזָּהGazaבְּנוֹתֶיהָits daughtersוַחֲצֵרֶיהָand its villagesעַד־נַחַלuntil a river ofמִצְרָיִםEgyptוְהַיָּםand the sea(הגבול)[הַגָּדוֹל]the greatוּגְבוּל׃and the border of

    Ashdod with her towns and her villages, Gaza with her towns and her villages, unto the river of Egypt, and the great sea, and the border thereof:

    And in the mountains, Shamir, and Jattir, and Socoh,

    And Dannah, and Kirjath-sannah, which is Debir,

    In the wilderness, Beth-arabah, Middin, and Secacah,

    וְהַנִּבְשָׁןand Nibshanוְעִיר־הַמֶּלַחand the city of the saltוְעֵיןand En-גֶּדִיgediעָרִיםcitiesשֵׁשׁsixוְחַצְרֵיהֶן׃and their villages

    And Nibshan, and the city of Salt, and En-gedi; six cities with their villages.

    וְאֶת־הַיְבוּסִיand the Jebusiteיוֹשְׁבֵיthe inhabitants ofיְרוּשָׁלַ͏ִםJerusalemלֹא־[יָכְלוּ]not could(יוכלו)בְנֵי־יְהוּדָהsons of Judahלְהוֹרִישָׁםto dispossess themוַיֵּשֶׁבand dweltהַיְבוּסִיthe Jebusiteאֶת־בְּנֵיthe sons ofיְהוּדָהJudahבִּירוּשָׁלַ͏ִםin Jerusalemעַדuntilהַיּוֹםthe dayהַזֶּה׃this

    As for the Jebusites the inhabitants of Jerusalem, the children of Judah could not drive them out: but the Jebusites dwell with the children of Judah at Jerusalem unto this day.
