Isaiah 9 יְשַׁעְיָהוּ פרק ט׳

   הָעָםha/AMthe-peopleהַהֹלְכִיםha/hol/KHIMthat-walkבַּחֹשֶׁךְba/CHO/shekhin-the-darknessרָאוּra/Uhave-seenאוֹרorlightגָּדוֹלga/DOLgreatיֹשְׁבֵיyosh/VEthey-that-dwellבְּאֶרֶץbe/E/retsin-the-land-ofצַלְמָוֶתtsal/MA/vetthe-shadow-of-deathאוֹרorlightנָגַהּna/GAhas-shoneעֲלֵיהֶם׃a/le/HEMupon-them

   The people that walked in darkness have seen a great light: they that dwell in the land of the shadow of death, upon them hath the light shined.

   Thou hast multiplied the nation, and not increased the joy: they joy before thee according to the joy in harvest, and as men rejoice when they divide the spoil.

   כִּיkiforאֶת־עֹלet-olthe-yoke-ofסֻבֳּלוֹsub/bo/LOhis-burdenוְאֵתve/ETandמַטֵּהmat/TEthe-staff-ofשִׁכְמוֹshikh/MOhis-shoulderשֵׁבֶטSHE/vetthe-rod-ofהַנֹּגֵשׂhan/no/GESthe-oppressorבּוֹboover-himהַחִתֹּתָha/chit/TO/taYou-have-brokenכְּיוֹםke/YOMas-in-the-day-ofמִדְיָן׃Mid/YANMidian

   For thou hast broken the yoke of his burden, and the staff of his shoulder, the rod of his oppressor, as in the day of Midian.

   For every battle of the warrior is with confused noise, and garments rolled in blood; but this shall be with burning and fuel of fire.

   For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.

   Of the increase of his government and peace there shall be no end, upon the throne of David, and upon his kingdom, to order it, and to establish it with judgment and with justice from henceforth even for ever. The zeal of the LORD of hosts will perform this.

   The Lord sent a word into Jacob, and it hath lighted upon Israel.

   וְיָדְעוּve/ya/de/Uand-shall-knowהָעָםha/AMthe-peopleכֻּלּוֹkul/LOall-of-itאֶפְרַיִםEf/RA/yimEphraimוְיוֹשֵׁבve/yo/SHEVand-the-inhabitant-ofשֹׁמְרוֹןShom/RONSamariaבְּגַאֲוָהbe/ga/a/VAin-prideוּבְגֹדֶלu/ve/GO/deland-in-greatness-ofלֵבָבle/VAVheartלֵאמֹר׃le/MORsaying

   And all the people shall know, even Ephraim and the inhabitant of Samaria, that say in the pride and stoutness of heart,

   לְבֵנִיםle/ve/NIMthe-bricksנָפָלוּna/FA/luare-fallen-downוְגָזִיתve/ga/ZITand-hewn-stoneנִבְנֶהniv/NEwe-will-buildשִׁקְמִיםshik/MIMthe-sycamoresגֻּדָּעוּgud/DA/uare-cut-downוַאֲרָזִיםva/a/ra/ZIMand-cedarsנַחֲלִיף׃na/cha/LIFwe-will-substitute

   The bricks are fallen down, but we will build with hewn stones: the sycomores are cut down, but we will change them into cedars.

    וַיְשַׂגֵּבvay/sag/GEVand-raised-upיְהֹוָהAdonaithe-LORDאֶת־צָרֵיet-tsa/REthe-adversaries-ofרְצִיןRe/TSINRezinעָלָיוa/LAYVagainst-himוְאֶת־אֹיְבָיוve/ET-oy/VAYVand-his-enemiesיְסַכְסֵךְ׃ye/sakh/SEKHHe-stirs-up

    Therefore the LORD shall set up the adversaries of Rezin against him, and join his enemies together;

    אֲרָםA/RAMSyriaמִקֶּדֶםmik/KE/dembeforeוּפְלִשְׁתִּיםu/Fe/lish/TIMand-Philistinesמֵאָחוֹרme/a/CHORbehindוַיֹּאכְלוּvay/yo/khe/LUand-they-devouredאֶת־יִשְׂרָאֵלet-Yis/ra/ELIsraelבְּכׇל־פֶּהbe/KHOL-pewith-open-mouthבְּכׇל־זֹאתbe/KHOL-zotin-all-thisלֹא־שָׁבlo-shavis-not-turned-awayאַפּוֹap/POHis-angerוְעוֹדve/ODand-stillיָדוֹya/DOHis-handנְטוּיָה׃ne/tu/YAis-stretched-out

    The Syrians before, and the Philistines behind; and they shall devour Israel with open mouth. For all this his anger is not turned away, but his hand is stretched out still.

    וְהָעָםve/ha/AMand-the-peopleלֹא־שָׁבlo-shavhas-not-turnedעַד־הַמַּכֵּהוּad-ham/mak/KE/huunto-Him-that-smites-himוְאֶת־יְהֹוָהve/ET-Adonaiand-the-LORDצְבָאוֹתTse/va/OTof-Hostsלֹאlonotדָרָשׁוּ׃da/RA/shuthey-have-sought

    For the people turneth not unto him that smiteth them, neither do they seek the LORD of hosts.

13. 13

    וַיַּכְרֵתvay/yakh/RETand-cut-offיְהֹוָהAdonaithe-LORDמִיִּשְׂרָאֵלmiy/Yis/ra/ELfrom-Israelרֹאשׁroshheadוְזָנָבve/za/NAVand-tailכִּפָּהkip/PAbranchוְאַגְמוֹןve/ag/MONand-rushיוֹםyomdayאֶחָד׃e/CHADone

    Therefore the LORD will cut off from Israel head and tail, branch and rush, in one day.

14. 14

    זָקֵןza/KENthe-elderוּנְשׂוּא־פָנִיםu/ne/SU-fa/NIMand-the-honorableהוּאhuheהָרֹאשׁha/ROSHthe-headוְנָבִיאve/na/VIand-the-prophetמוֹרֶה־שֶּׁקֶרmo/RE-SHE/kerthat-teaches-falsehoodהוּאhuheהַזָּנָב׃haz/za/NAVthe-tail

    The ancient and honourable, he is the head; and the prophet that teacheth lies, he is the tail.

15. 15

    וַיִּהְיוּvay/yih/YUand-they-wereמְאַשְּׁרֵיme/ash/she/REthe-leaders-ofהָעָם־הַזֶּהha/AM-haz/ZEthis-peopleמַתְעִיםmat/IMcause-to-errוּמְאֻשָּׁרָיוu/me/ush/sha/RAYVand-they-that-are-led-of-himמְבֻלָּעִים׃me/vul/la/IMare-swallowed-up

    For the leaders of this people cause them to err; and they that are led of them are destroyed.

16. 16

    עַל־כֵּןal-kenthereforeעַל־בַּחוּרָיוal-ba/chu/RAYVover-his-young-menלֹא־יִשְׂמַחlo-yis/MACHshall-not-rejoiceאֲדֹנָיa/do/NAYthe-Lordוְאֶת־יְתֹמָיוve/ET-ye/to/MAYVand-his-fatherlessוְאֶת־אַלְמְנוֹתָיוve/ET-al/me/no/TAYVand-his-widowsלֹאlonotיְרַחֵםye/ra/CHEMshall-have-mercyכִּיkibecauseכֻלּוֹkhul/LOeveryoneחָנֵףcha/NEFgodlessוּמֵרַעu/me/RAand-an-evildoerוְכׇל־פֶּהve/KHOL-peand-every-mouthדֹּבֵרdo/VERspeaksנְבָלָהne/va/LAfollyבְּכׇל־זֹאתbe/KHOL-zotin-all-thisלֹא־שָׁבlo-shavis-not-turned-awayאַפּוֹap/POHis-angerוְעוֹדve/ODand-stillיָדוֹya/DOHis-handנְטוּיָה׃ne/tu/YAis-stretched-out

    Therefore the Lord shall have no joy in their young men, neither shall have mercy on their fatherless and widows: for every one is an hypocrite and an evildoer, and every mouth speaketh folly. For all this his anger is not turned away, but his hand is stretched out still.

17. 17

    כִּי־בָעֲרָהki-va/a/RAfor-burnsכָאֵשׁkha/ESHlike-the-fireרִשְׁעָהrish/Awickednessשָׁמִירsha/MIRthe-briersוָשַׁיִתva/SHA/yitand-thornsתֹּאכֵלto/KHELit-devoursוַתִּצַּתvat/tits/TSATand-kindlesבְּסִבְכֵיbe/siv/KHEin-the-thickets-ofהַיַּעַרhay/YA/arthe-forestוַיִּתְאַבְּכוּvay/yit/ab/be/KHUand-they-mount-upגֵּאוּתge/UTthe-billowing-ofעָשָׁן׃a/SHANsmoke

    For wickedness burneth as the fire: it shall devour the briers and thorns, and shall kindle in the thickets of the forest, and they shall mount up like the lifting up of smoke.

18. 18

    בְּעֶבְרַתbe/ev/RATin-the-wrath-ofיְהֹוָהAdonaithe-LORDצְבָאוֹתTse/va/OTof-Hostsנֶעְתַּםne/TAMis-darkenedאָרֶץA/retsthe-landוַיְהִיvay/HIand-isהָעָםha/AMthe-peopleכְּמַאֲכֹלֶתke/ma/a/KHO/letas-the-fuel-ofאֵשׁeshfireאִישׁisha-manאֶל־אָחִיוel-a/CHIVtoward-his-brotherלֹאlonotיַחְמֹלוּ׃yach/MO/luthey-spare

    Through the wrath of the LORD of hosts is the land darkened, and the people shall be as the fuel of the fire: no man shall spare his brother.

19. 19

    וַיִּגְזֹרvay/yig/ZORand-he-snatchesעַל־יָמִיןal-ya/MINon-the-right-handוְרָעֵבve/ra/EVand-hungryוַיֹּאכַלvay/YO/khaland-he-eatsעַל־שְׂמֹאולal-se/MOLon-the-left-handוְלֹאve/LOand-notשָׂבֵעוּsa/VE/uare-they-satisfiedאִישׁishevery-manבְּשַׂר־זְרֹעוֹbe/SAR-ze/ro/Othe-flesh-of-his-armיֹאכֵלוּ׃yo/KHE/luthey-eat

    And he shall snatch on the right hand, and be hungry; and he shall eat on the left hand, and they shall not be satisfied: they shall eat every man the flesh of his own arm:

20. 20

    מְנַשֶּׁהMe/nash/SHEManassehאֶת־אֶפְרַיִםet-Ef/RA/yimEphraimוְאֶפְרַיִםve/Ef/RA/yimand-Ephraimאֶת־מְנַשֶּׁהet-Me/nash/SHEManassehיַחְדָּוyach/DAVtogetherהֵמָּהHEM/matheyעַל־יְהוּדָהal-Ye/hu/DAagainst-Judahבְּכׇל־זֹאתbe/KHOL-zotin-all-thisלֹא־שָׁבlo-shavis-not-turned-awayאַפּוֹap/POHis-angerוְעוֹדve/ODand-stillיָדוֹya/DOHis-handנְטוּיָה׃ne/tu/YAis-stretched-out

    Manasseh, Ephraim; and Ephraim, Manasseh: and they together shall be against Judah. For all this his anger is not turned away, but his hand is stretched out still.
