   וְעַתָּהand-nowשְׁמַעhearkenיַעֲקֹבJacobעַבְדִּיmy-servantוְיִשְׂרָאֵלand-Israelבָּחַרְתִּיwhom-I-have-chosenבוֹ׃him

   Yet now hear, O Jacob my servant; and Israel, whom I have chosen:

   כֹּה־אָמַרthus-saysיְהֹוָהthe-LORDעֹשֶׂךָthat-made-youוְיֹצֶרְךָand-formed-youמִבֶּטֶןfrom-the-wombיַעְזְרֶךָּwho-will-help-youאַל־תִּירָאbe-not-afraidעַבְדִּיmy-servantיַעֲקֹבJacobוִישֻׁרוּןand-you-Jeshurunבָּחַרְתִּיwhom-I-have-chosenבוֹ׃him

   Thus saith the LORD that made thee, and formed thee from the womb, which will help thee; Fear not, O Jacob, my servant; and thou, Jesurun, whom I have chosen.

   כִּיforאֶצׇּק־מַיִםI-will-pour-waterעַל־צָמֵאupon-the-thirsty-landוְנֹזְלִיםand-floodsעַל־יַבָּשָׁהupon-dry-groundאֶצֹּקI-will-pourרוּחִיmy-spiritעַל־זַרְעֶךָupon-your-seedוּבִרְכָתִיand-my-blessingעַל־צֶאֱצָאֶיךָ׃upon-your-offspring

   For I will pour water upon him that is thirsty, and floods upon the dry ground: I will pour my spirit upon thy seed, and my blessing upon thine offspring:

   וְצָמְחוּand-they-shall-spring-upבְּבֵיןas-amongחָצִירthe-grassכַּעֲרָבִיםas-willowsעַל־יִבְלֵי־מָיִם׃by-the-water-courses

   And they shall spring up as among the grass, as willows by the water courses.

   זֶהoneיֹאמַרshall-sayלַיהֹוָהto-the-LORDאָנִיI-amוְזֶהand-anotherיִקְרָאshall-call-himselfבְשֵׁם־יַעֲקֹבby-the-name-of-Jacobוְזֶהand-anotherיִכְתֹּבshall-subscribeיָדוֹwith-his-handלַיהֹוָהto-the-LORDוּבְשֵׁםand-by-the-name-ofיִשְׂרָאֵלIsraelיְכַנֶּה׃surname-himself

   One shall say, I am the LORD's; and another shall call himself by the name of Jacob; and another shall subscribe with his hand unto the LORD, and surname himself by the name of Israel.

   כֹּה־אָמַרthus-saysיְהֹוָהthe-LORDמֶלֶךְ־יִשְׂרָאֵלthe-King-of-Israelוְגֹאֲלוֹand-his-redeemerיְהֹוָהthe-LORDצְבָאוֹתof-HostsאֲנִיIרִאשׁוֹןam-the-firstוַאֲנִיand-Iאַחֲרוֹןam-the-lastוּמִבַּלְעָדַיand-beside-meאֵיןthere-is-noאֱלֹהִים׃God

   Thus saith the LORD the King of Israel, and his redeemer the LORD of hosts; I am the first, and I am the last; and beside me there is no God.

   וּמִי־כָמוֹנִיand-who-is-like-meיִקְרָאlet-him-proclaim-itוְיַגִּידֶהָand-let-him-declare-itוְיַעְרְכֶהָand-set-it-in-orderלִיto-meמִשּׂוּמִיfrom-when-I-appointedעַם־עוֹלָםthe-eternal-peopleוְאֹתִיּוֹתthe-things-that-will-comeוַאֲשֶׁרand-thatתָּבֹאנָהare-to-beיַגִּידוּlet-them-relateלָמוֹ׃for-themselves

   And who, as I, shall call, and shall declare it, and set it in order for me, since I appointed the ancient people? and the things that are coming, and shall come, let them shew unto them.

   אַל־תִּפְחֲדוּfear-notוְאַל־תִּרְהוּneither-be-afraidהֲלֹאhave-not-Iמֵאָזfrom-that-timeהִשְׁמַעְתִּיךָtold-youוְהִגַּדְתִּיand-have-declared-itוְאַתֶּםfor-you-areעֵדָיmy-witnessesהֲיֵשׁis-thereאֱלוֹהַּa-Godמִבַּלְעָדַיother-than-meוְאֵיןindeed-there-is-noצוּרRockבַּל־יָדָעְתִּי׃I-know-not-any

   Fear ye not, neither be afraid: have not I told thee from that time, and have declared it? ye are even my witnesses. Is there a God beside me? yea, there is no God; I know not any.

   יֹצְרֵי־פֶסֶלthey-that-make-a-carved-idolכֻּלָּםare-all-of-themתֹּהוּvanityוַחֲמוּדֵיהֶםand-the-things-they-delight-inבַּל־יוֹעִילוּdo-not-profitוְעֵדֵיהֶםand-their-witnessesהֵׄמָּׄהׄtheyבַּל־יִרְאוּsee-notוּבַל־יֵדְעוּnor-knowלְמַעַןin-order-thatיֵבֹשׁוּ׃they-may-be-ashamed

   They that make a graven image are all of them vanity; and their delectable things shall not profit; and they are their own witnesses; they see not, nor know; that they may be ashamed.

    מִי־יָצַרwho-has-fashionedאֵלa-godוּפֶסֶלor-an-idolנָסָךְcastלְבִלְתִּיit-is-profitableהוֹעִיל׃for-nothing

    Who hath formed a god, or molten a graven image that is profitable for nothing?

11. 11

    הֵןbeholdכׇּל־חֲבֵרָיוall-his-fellowsיֵבֹשׁוּshall-be-ashamedוְחָרָשִׁיםand-the-workmenהֵמָּהthey-are-butמֵאָדָםmenיִתְקַבְּצוּlet-them-be-gathered-togetherכֻלָּםallיַעֲמֹדוּlet-them-stand-upיִפְחֲדוּthey-shall-fearיֵבֹשׁוּthey-shall-be-ashamedיָחַד׃together

    Behold, all his fellows shall be ashamed: and the workmen, they are of men: let them all be gathered together, let them stand up; yet they shall fear, and they shall be ashamed together.

    חָרַשׁthe-smith-ofבַּרְזֶלironמַעֲצָדmakes-an-axeוּפָעַלand-worksבַּפֶּחָםin-the-coalsוּבַמַּקָּבוֹתand-with-hammersיִצְּרֵהוּfashions-itוַיִּפְעָלֵהוּworks-itבִּזְרוֹעַwith-the-strength-ofכֹּחוֹhis-armsגַּם־רָעֵבif-he-is-hungryוְאֵיןfailsכֹּחַhis-strengthלֹא־שָׁתָהif-he-drinks-noמַיִםwaterוַיִּיעָף׃he-is-faint

    The smith with the tongs both worketh in the coals, and fashioneth it with hammers, and worketh it with the strength of his arms: yea, he is hungry, and his strength faileth: he drinketh no water, and is faint.

    חָרַשׁthe-carpenterעֵצִיםof-woodנָטָהstretches-outקָוhis-ruleיְתָאֲרֵהוּhe-marks-it-outבַשֶּׂרֶדwith-a-pencilיַעֲשֵׂהוּhe-fits-itבַּמַּקְצֻעוֹתwith-chiselsוּבַמְּחוּגָהand-with-the-compassיְתׇאֳרֵהוּhe-marks-it-outוַיַּעֲשֵׂהוּand-makes-itכְּתַבְנִיתafter-the-figure-ofאִישׁa-manכְּתִפְאֶרֶתaccording-to-the-beauty-ofאָדָםmanלָשֶׁבֶתthat-it-may-remain-inבָּיִת׃the-house

    The carpenter stretcheth out his rule; he marketh it out with a line; he fitteth it with planes, and he marketh it out with the compass, and maketh it after the figure of a man, according to the beauty of a man; that it may remain in the house.

    לִכְרׇת־לוֹhe-hews-him-downאֲרָזִיםcedarsוַיִּקַּחand-takesתִּרְזָהthe-pineוְאַלּוֹןand-the-oakוַיְאַמֶּץ־לוֹwhich-he-strengthens-for-himselfבַּעֲצֵי־יָעַרamong-the-trees-of-the-forestנָטַעhe-plantsאֹרֶןa-forest-treeוְגֶשֶׁםand-the-rainיְגַדֵּל׃nourishes-it

    He heweth him down cedars, and taketh the cypress and the oak, which he strengtheneth for himself among the trees of the forest: he planteth an ash, and the rain doth nourish it.

    וְהָיָהthen-shall-it-beלְאָדָםfor-a-manלְבָעֵרfor-fuelוַיִּקַּחfor-he-will-takeמֵהֶםof-itוַיָּחׇםto-warm-himselfאַף־יַשִּׂיקindeed-he-kindles-itוְאָפָהand-he-bakesלָחֶםbreadאַף־יִפְעַל־אֵלor-else-he-makes-a-godוַיִּשְׁתָּחוּand-prostrates-himself-to-itעָשָׂהוּhe-makes-of-itפֶסֶלa-carved-idolוַיִּסְגׇּד־לָמוֹ׃and-bows-himself-down-before-it

    Then shall it be for a man to burn: for he will take thereof, and warm himself; yea, he kindleth it, and baketh bread; yea, he maketh a god, and worshippeth it; he maketh it a graven image, and falleth down thereto.

    חֶצְיוֹhalf-of-itשָׂרַףhe-burnsבְּמוֹ־אֵשׁin-the-fireעַל־חֶצְיוֹwith-this-half-of-itבָּשָׂרmeatיֹאכֵלhe-eatsיִצְלֶהhe-roastsצָלִיthe-roastוְיִשְׂבָּעand-is-satisfiedאַף־יָחֹםindeed-he-warms-himselfוְיֹאמַרand-saysהֶאָחahaחַמּוֹתִיI-am-warmרָאִיתִיI-have-seenאוּר׃the-fire

    He burneth part thereof in the fire; with part thereof he eateth flesh; he roasteth roast, and is satisfied: yea, he warmeth himself, and saith, Aha, I am warm, I have seen the fire:

17. 17

    וּשְׁאֵרִיתוֹand-of-the-rest-of-itלְאֵלa-godעָשָׂהhe-makesלְפִסְלוֹhis-carved-idol[יִסְגׇּד־]לוֹhe-falls-down-to-itוְיִשְׁתַּחוּand-worships-itוְיִתְפַּלֵּלand-praysאֵלָיוto-itוְיֹאמַרand-saysהַצִּילֵנִיdeliver-meכִּיforאֵלִיmy-godאָתָּה׃you-are

    And the residue thereof he maketh a god, even his graven image: he falleth down unto it, and worshippeth it, and prayeth unto it, and saith, Deliver me; for thou art my god.

    לֹאnotיָדְעוּthey-have-knownוְלֹאand-notיָבִינוּunderstoodכִּיforטַחhe-has-shutמֵרְאוֹתthat-they-cannot-seeעֵינֵיהֶםtheir-eyesמֵהַשְׂכִּילthat-they-cannot-understandלִבֹּתָם׃and-their-hearts

    They have not known nor understood: for he hath shut their eyes, that they cannot see; and their hearts, that they cannot understand.

    וְלֹא־יָשִׁיבand-none-considersאֶל־לִבּוֹin-his-heartוְלֹאneither-is-thereדַעַתknowledgeוְלֹא־תְבוּנָהnor-understandingלֵאמֹרsayingחֶצְיוֹhalf-of-itשָׂרַפְתִּיI-have-burnedבְמוֹ־אֵשׁin-the-fireוְאַףI-have-evenאָפִיתִיbakedעַל־גֶּחָלָיוupon-its-embersלֶחֶםbreadאֶצְלֶהI-have-roastedבָשָׂרmeatוְאֹכֵלand-eaten-itוְיִתְרוֹand-the-rest-of-itלְתוֹעֵבָהan-abominationאֶעֱשֶׂהshall-I-makeלְבוּלto-the-stock-ofעֵץa-treeאֶסְגּוֹד׃shall-I-fall-down

    And none considereth in his heart, neither is there knowledge nor understanding to say, I have burned part of it in the fire; yea, also I have baked bread upon the coals thereof; I have roasted flesh, and eaten it: and shall I make the residue thereof an abomination? shall I fall down to the stock of a tree?

    רֹעֶהhe-feeds-onאֵפֶרashesלֵבa-heartהוּתַלdeceivedהִטָּהוּhas-turned-him-asideוְלֹא־יַצִּילthat-he-cannot-deliverאֶת־נַפְשׁוֹhis-soulוְלֹאand-notיֹאמַרsayהֲלוֹאis-there-notשֶׁקֶרa-lieבִּימִינִי׃in-my-right-hand

    He feedeth on ashes: a deceived heart hath turned him aside, that he cannot deliver his soul, nor say, Is there not a lie in my right hand?

21. 21

    זְכׇר־אֵלֶּהremember-theseיַעֲקֹבJacobוְיִשְׂרָאֵלand-Israelכִּיbecauseעַבְדִּי־אָתָּהyou-are-my-servantיְצַרְתִּיךָI-have-formed-youעֶבֶד־לִיyou-are-my-own-servantאַתָּהyouיִשְׂרָאֵלIsraelלֹאnotתִנָּשֵׁנִי׃shall-you-be-forgotten-by-me

    Remember these, O Jacob and Israel; for thou art my servant: I have formed thee; thou art my servant: O Israel, thou shalt not be forgotten of me.

22. 22

    מָחִיתִיI-have-blotted-outכָעָבas-a-thick-cloudפְּשָׁעֶיךָyour-transgressionsוְכֶעָנָןand-as-a-cloudחַטֹּאותֶיךָyour-sinsשׁוּבָהreturnאֵלַיto-meכִּיforגְאַלְתִּיךָ׃I-have-redeemed-you

    I have blotted out, as a thick cloud, thy transgressions, and, as a cloud, thy sins: return unto me; for I have redeemed thee.

23. 23

    רׇנּוּsingשָׁמַיִםO-heavensכִּי־עָשָׂהfor-has-done-itיְהֹוָהthe-LORDהָרִיעוּshoutתַּחְתִּיּוֹתyou-lower-parts-ofאָרֶץthe-earthפִּצְחוּbreak-forthהָרִיםyou-mountainsרִנָּהinto-singingיַעַרO-forestוְכׇל־עֵץand-every-treeבּוֹin-itכִּי־גָאַלfor-has-redeemedיְהֹוָהthe-LORDיַעֲקֹבJacobוּבְיִשְׂרָאֵלand-in-Israelיִתְפָּאָר׃glorified-himself

    Sing, O ye heavens; for the LORD hath done it: shout, ye lower parts of the earth: break forth into singing, ye mountains, O forest, and every tree therein: for the LORD hath redeemed Jacob, and glorified himself in Israel.

    כֹּה־אָמַרthus-saysיְהֹוָהthe-LORDגֹּאֲלֶךָyour-redeemerוְיֹצֶרְךָand-he-that-formed-youמִבָּטֶןfrom-the-wombאָנֹכִיIיְהֹוָהthe-LORDעֹשֶׂהthat-makesכֹּלall-thingsנֹטֶהthat-stretchesשָׁמַיִםthe-heavensלְבַדִּיaloneרֹקַעthat-spreads-abroadהָאָרֶץthe-earth(מיאתי)[מֵאִתִּי]׃by-myself

    Thus saith the LORD, thy redeemer, and he that formed thee from the womb, I am the LORD that maketh all things; that stretcheth forth the heavens alone; that spreadeth abroad the earth by myself;

25. 25

    מֵפֵרthat-frustratesאֹתוֹתthe-omens-ofבַּדִּיםimpostersוְקֹסְמִיםand-divinersיְהוֹלֵלmakes-madמֵשִׁיבthat-turnsחֲכָמִיםwise-menאָחוֹרbackwardוְדַעְתָּםand-their-knowledgeיְסַכֵּל׃makes-foolish

    That frustrateth the tokens of the liars, and maketh diviners mad; that turneth wise men backward, and maketh their knowledge foolish;

26. 26

    מֵקִיםthat-confirmsדְּבַרthe-word-ofעַבְדּוֹhis-servantוַעֲצַתand-the-counsel-ofמַלְאָכָיוhis-messengersיַשְׁלִיםperformsהָאֹמֵרthat-saysלִירוּשָׁלַ͏ִםto-Jerusalemתּוּשָׁבyou-shall-be-inhabitedוּלְעָרֵיand-to-the-cities-ofיְהוּדָהJudahתִּבָּנֶינָהthey-shall-be-rebuiltוְחׇרְבוֹתֶיהָand-their-ruinsאֲקוֹמֵם׃I-shall-raise-up

    That confirmeth the word of his servant, and performeth the counsel of his messengers; that saith to Jerusalem, Thou shalt be inhabited; and to the cities of Judah, Ye shall be built, and I will raise up the decayed places thereof:

27. 27

    הָאֹמֵרthat-saysלַצּוּלָהto-the-deepחֳרָבִיbe-dryוְנַהֲרֹתַיִךְand-your-riversאוֹבִישׁ׃I-will-dry-up

    That saith to the deep, Be dry, and I will dry up thy rivers:

28. 28

    הָאֹמֵרthat-saysלְכוֹרֶשׁof-Cyrusרֹעִיhe-is-my-shepherdוְכׇל־חֶפְצִיand-all-my-pleasureיַשְׁלִםshall-performוְלֵאמֹרand-sayingלִירוּשָׁלַ͏ִםto-Jerusalemתִּבָּנֶהyou-shall-be-rebuiltוְהֵיכׇלand-to-the-templeתִּוָּסֵד׃your-foundation-shall-be-laid

    That saith of Cyrus, He is my shepherd, and shall perform all my pleasure: even saying to Jerusalem, Thou shalt be built; and to the temple, Thy foundation shall be laid.
