1. 1

   הוֹיwoe-toשׁוֹדֵדthe-spoilerוְאַתָּהand-youלֹאnotשָׁדוּדspoiledוּבוֹגֵדand-the-traitorוְלֹא־בָגְדוּand-they-dealt-not-treacherouslyבוֹwith-youכַּהֲתִמְךָwhen-you-shall-ceaseשׁוֹדֵדto-spoilתּוּשַּׁדyou-shall-be-spoiledכַּנְּלֹתְךָwhen-you-shall-make-an-endלִבְגֹּדof-betrayingיִבְגְּדוּ־בָךְ׃they-shall-betray-you

   Woe to thee that spoilest, and thou wast not spoiled; and dealest treacherously, and they dealt not treacherously with thee! when thou shalt cease to spoil, thou shalt be spoiled; and when thou shalt make an end to deal treacherously, they shall deal treacherously with thee.

   יְהֹוָהthe-LORDחׇנֵּנוּbe-gracious-to-usלְךָfor-Youקִוִּינוּwe-have-waitedהֱיֵהbe-Youזְרֹעָםtheir-armלַבְּקָרִיםevery-morningאַף־יְשׁוּעָתֵנוּour-salvation-alsoבְּעֵתin-the-time-ofצָרָה׃trouble

   O LORD, be gracious unto us; we have waited for thee: be thou their arm every morning, our salvation also in the time of trouble.

3. 3

   מִקּוֹלat-the-noise-ofהָמוֹןthe-tumultנָדְדוּfledעַמִּיםthe-peopleמֵרוֹמְמֻתֶךָat-the-lifting-up-of-Yourselfנָפְצוּwere-scatteredגּוֹיִם׃the-nations

   At the noise of the tumult the people fled; at the lifting up of thyself the nations were scattered.

   וְאֻסַּףand-shall-be-gatheredשְׁלַלְכֶםyour-spoilאֹסֶףlike-the-gathering-ofהֶחָסִילthe-caterpillarכְּמַשַּׁקas-the-running-ofגֵּבִיםlocustsשֹׁקֵקshall-he-rove-aboutבּוֹ׃upon-it

   And your spoil shall be gathered like the gathering of the caterpiller: as the running to and fro of locusts shall he run upon them.

   נִשְׂגָּבis-exaltedיְהֹוָהthe-LORDכִּיforשֹׁכֵןhe-dwellsמָרוֹםon-highמִלֵּאhe-has-filledצִיּוֹןZion-withמִשְׁפָּטjudgmentוּצְדָקָה׃and-righteousness

   The LORD is exalted; for he dwelleth on high: he hath filled Zion with judgment and righteousness.

6. 6

   וְהָיָהand-he-shall-beאֱמוּנַתthe-stability-ofעִתֶּיךָyour-timesחֹסֶןa-store-ofיְשׁוּעֹתsalvationחׇכְמַתwisdomוָדָעַתand-knowledgeיִרְאַתthe-fear-ofיְהֹוָהthe-LORDהִיאisאוֹצָרוֹ׃his-treasure

   And wisdom and knowledge shall be the stability of thy times, and strength of salvation: the fear of the LORD is his treasure.

7. 7

   הֵןbeholdאֶרְאֶלָּםthe-mighty-onesצָעֲקוּshall-cryחֻצָהoutsideמַלְאֲכֵיambassadors-ofשָׁלוֹםpeaceמַרbitterlyיִבְכָּיוּן׃shall-weep

   Behold, their valiant ones shall cry without: the ambassadors of peace shall weep bitterly.

8. 8

   נָשַׁמּוּlie-wasteמְסִלּוֹתthe-highwaysשָׁבַתceasesעֹבֵרthe-wayfaringאֹרַחmanהֵפֵרhe-has-brokenבְּרִיתthe-covenantמָאַסhe-has-despisedעָרִיםthe-citiesלֹאnotחָשַׁבhe-regardsאֱנוֹשׁ׃man

   The highways lie waste, the wayfaring man ceaseth: he hath broken the covenant, he hath despised the cities, he regardeth no man.

   אָבַלmournsאֻמְלְלָהand-languishesאָרֶץthe-earthהֶחְפִּירis-ashamedלְבָנוֹןLebanonקָמַלand-withersהָיָהisהַשָּׁרוֹןSharonכָּעֲרָבָהlike-the-Arabahוְנֹעֵרand-shake-off-their-leavesבָּשָׁןBashanוְכַרְמֶל׃and-Carmel

   The earth mourneth and languisheth: Lebanon is ashamed and hewn down: Sharon is like a wilderness; and Bashan and Carmel shake off their fruits.

10. 10

    עַתָּהnowאָקוּםwill-I-riseיֹאמַרsaysיְהֹוָהthe-LORDעַתָּהnowאֵרוֹמָםwill-I-be-exaltedעַתָּהnowאֶנָּשֵׂא׃will-I-lift-up-myself

    Now will I rise, saith the LORD; now will I be exalted; now will I lift up myself.

11. 11

    תַּהֲרוּyou-shall-conceiveחֲשַׁשׁchaffתֵּלְדוּyou-shall-bring-forthקַשׁstubbleרוּחֲכֶםyour-breathאֵשׁis-a-fireתֹּאכַלְכֶם׃that-shall-devour-you

    Ye shall conceive chaff, ye shall bring forth stubble: your breath, as fire, shall devour you.

12. 12

    וְהָיוּand-shall-beעַמִּיםthe-peopleמִשְׂרְפוֹתas-the-burnings-ofשִׂידlimeקוֹצִיםas-thornsכְּסוּחִיםcut-downבָּאֵשׁin-the-fireיִצַּתּוּ׃that-are-burned

    And the people shall be as the burnings of lime: as thorns cut up shall they be burned in the fire.

13. 13

    שִׁמְעוּhearרְחוֹקִיםyou-that-are-far-offאֲשֶׁרwhatעָשִׂיתִיI-have-doneוּדְעוּand-acknowledgeקְרוֹבִיםyou-that-are-nearגְּבֻרָתִי׃my-might

    Hear, ye that are far off, what I have done; and, ye that are near, acknowledge my might.

14. 14

    פָּחֲדוּare-afraidבְצִיּוֹןin-Zionחַטָּאִיםthe-sinnersאָחֲזָהhas-surprisedרְעָדָהfearfulnessחֲנֵפִיםthe-flatterersמִיwhoיָגוּרshall-dwellלָנוּamong-usאֵשׁwith-the-fireאוֹכֵלָהdevouringמִי־יָגוּרwho-shall-dwellלָנוּamong-usמוֹקְדֵיwith-the-burnings-ofעוֹלָם׃everlasting

    The sinners in Zion are afraid; fearfulness hath surprised the hypocrites. Who among us shall dwell with the devouring fire? who among us shall dwell with everlasting burnings?

15. 15

    הֹלֵךְhe-that-walksצְדָקוֹתrighteouslyוְדֹבֵרand-speaksמֵישָׁרִיםuprightlyמֹאֵסhe-that-despisesבְּבֶצַעthe-gain-ofמַעֲשַׁקּוֹתoppressionsנֹעֵרthat-shakesכַּפָּיוhis-handsמִתְּמֹךְfrom-holding-ofבַּשֹּׁחַדbribesאֹטֵםthat-stopsאׇזְנוֹhis-earsמִשְּׁמֹעַfrom-hearing-ofדָּמִיםbloodוְעֹצֵםand-shutsעֵינָיוhis-eyesמֵרְאוֹתfrom-seeingבְּרָע׃evil

    He that walketh righteously, and speaketh uprightly; he that despiseth the gain of oppressions, that shaketh his hands from holding of bribes, that stoppeth his ears from hearing of blood, and shutteth his eyes from seeing evil;

16. 16

    הוּאheמְרוֹמִיםon-highיִשְׁכֹּןhe-shall-dwellמְצָדוֹתthe-fortresses-ofסְלָעִיםrocksמִשְׂגַּבּוֹhis-place-of-defenseלַחְמוֹbreadנִתָּןshall-be-given-himמֵימָיוhis-waterנֶאֱמָנִים׃shall-be-sure

    He shall dwell on high: his place of defence shall be the munitions of rocks: bread shall be given him; his waters shall be sure.

17. 17

    מֶלֶךְthe-kingבְּיׇפְיוֹin-his-beautyתֶּחֱזֶינָהshall-seeעֵינֶיךָyour-eyesתִּרְאֶינָהthey-shall-beholdאֶרֶץthe-land-ofמַרְחַקִּים׃that-is-very-far-off

    Thine eyes shall see the king in his beauty: they shall behold the land that is very far off.

18. 18

    לִבְּךָyour-heartיֶהְגֶּהshall-muse-onאֵימָהterrorאַיֵּהwhere-isסֹפֵרthe-scribeאַיֵּהwhere-isשֹׁקֵלthe-receiverאַיֵּהwhere-isסֹפֵרhe-that-countedאֶת־הַמִּגְדָּלִים׃the-towers

    Thine heart shall meditate terror. Where is the scribe? where is the receiver? where is he that counted the towers?

19. 19

    אֶת־עַםthe-peopleנוֹעָזfierceלֹאnotתִרְאֶהshall-you-seeעַםthe-people-ofעִמְקֵיa-deeperשָׂפָהspeechמִשְּׁמוֹעַthan-you-can-understandנִלְעַגof-a-stammeringלָשׁוֹןtongueאֵיןthat-you-cannotבִּינָה׃apprehend

    Thou shalt not see a fierce people, a people of a deeper speech than thou canst perceive; of a stammering tongue, that thou canst not understand.

20. 20

    חֲזֵהlook-uponצִיּוֹןZionקִרְיַתthe-city-ofמוֹעֲדֵנוּour-solemnitiesעֵינֶיךָyour-eyesתִרְאֶינָהshall-seeיְרוּשָׁלַ͏ִםJerusalemנָוֶהa-habitationשַׁאֲנָןquietאֹהֶלa-tentבַּל־יִצְעָןthat-shall-not-be-taken-downבַּל־יִסַּעshall-not-be-removedיְתֵדֹתָיוits-pegsלָנֶצַחforeverוְכׇל־חֲבָלָיוnor-any-of-its-cordsבַּל־יִנָּתֵקוּ׃shall-be-broken

    Look upon Zion, the city of our solemnities: thine eyes shall see Jerusalem a quiet habitation, a tabernacle that shall not be taken down; not one of the stakes thereof shall ever be removed, neither shall any of the cords thereof be broken.

21. 21

    כִּיforאִם־שָׁםbut-thereאַדִּירin-majestyיְהֹוָהthe-LORDלָנוּfor-usמְקוֹם־נְהָרִיםa-place-of-broad-riversיְאֹרִיםand-streamsרַחֲבֵיbroadיָדָיִםof-spaceבַּל־תֵּלֶךְwherein-can-go-noבּוֹthereinאֳנִי־שַׁיִטgalley-with-oarsוְצִיneither-shall-shipאַדִּירgallantלֹאnotיַעַבְרֶנּוּ׃be-able-to-pass-by-it

    But there the glorious LORD will be unto us a place of broad rivers and streams; wherein shall go no galley with oars, neither shall gallant ship pass thereby.

22. 22

    כִּיforיְהֹוָהthe-LORDשֹׁפְטֵנוּour-judgeיְהֹוָהthe-LORDמְחֹקְקֵנוּour-lawgiverיְהֹוָהthe-LORDמַלְכֵּנוּour-kingהוּאheיוֹשִׁיעֵנוּ׃he-will-save-us

    For the LORD is our judge, the LORD is our lawgiver, the LORD is our king; he will save us.

23. 23

    נִטְּשׁוּare-loosedחֲבָלָיִךְyour-tacklingsבַּל־יְחַזְּקוּthey-could-not-strengthenכֵן־תׇּרְנָםthe-socket-of-their-mastבַּל־פָּרְשׂוּthey-could-not-spreadנֵסthe-sailאָזthenחֻלַּקis-dividedעַד־שָׁלָלthe-prey-of-a-spoilמַרְבֶּהgreatפִּסְחִיםthe-lameבָּזְזוּtakeבַז׃the-prey

    Thy tacklings are loosed; they could not well strengthen their mast, they could not spread the sail: then is the prey of a great spoil divided; the lame take the prey.

24. 24

    וּבַל־יֹאמַרand-shall-not-sayשָׁכֵןthe-inhabitantחָלִיתִיI-am-sickהָעָםthe-peopleהַיֹּשֵׁבthat-dwellבָּהּthereinנְשֻׂאshall-be-forgivenעָוֺן׃their-iniquity

    And the inhabitant shall not say, I am sick: the people that dwell therein shall be forgiven their iniquity.
