Isaiah 32 יְשַׁעְיָהוּ פרק ל״ב

1. 1

   הֵןbeholdלְצֶדֶקin-righteousnessיִמְלׇךְ־מֶלֶךְa-king-shall-reignוּלְשָׂרִיםand-as-for-princesלְמִשְׁפָּטin-judgmentיָשֹׂרוּ׃they-shall-rule

   Behold, a king shall reign in righteousness, and princes shall rule in judgment.

2. 2

   וְהָיָה־אִישׁand-a-man-shall-beכְּמַחֲבֵא־רוּחַas-a-hiding-place-from-the-windוְסֵתֶרand-a-covert-fromזָרֶםthe-tempestכְּפַלְגֵי־מַיִםas-rivers-of-waterבְּצָיוֹןin-a-dry-placeכְּצֵלas-the-shadow-ofסֶלַע־כָּבֵדa-great-rockבְּאֶרֶץin-the-land-ofעֲיֵפָה׃weary

   And a man shall be as an hiding place from the wind, and a covert from the tempest; as rivers of water in a dry place, as the shadow of a great rock in a weary land.

3. 3

   וְלֹאand-notתִשְׁעֶינָהbe-blindעֵינֵיthe-eyes-ofרֹאִיםthem-that-seeוְאׇזְנֵיand-the-ears-ofשֹׁמְעִיםthem-that-hearתִּקְשַׁבְנָה׃shall-hearken

   And the eyes of them that see shall not be dim, and the ears of them that hear shall hearken.

   וּלְבַבand-the-heart-ofנִמְהָרִיםthe-rashיָבִיןshall-understandלָדָעַתknowledgeוּלְשׁוֹןand-the-tongue-ofעִלְּגִיםthe-stammerersתְּמַהֵרshall-be-readyלְדַבֵּרto-speakצָחוֹת׃plainly

   The heart also of the rash shall understand knowledge, and the tongue of the stammerers shall be ready to speak plainly.

   לֹא־יִקָּרֵאshall-not-be-calledעוֹדany-moreלְנָבָלthe-vile-personנָדִיבliberalוּלְכִילַיnor-the-churlלֹאnotיֵאָמֵרsaid-to-beשׁוֹעַ׃bountiful

   The vile person shall be no more called liberal, nor the churl said to be bountiful.

   כִּיforנָבָלthe-vile-personנְבָלָהvillainyיְדַבֵּרspeaksוְלִבּוֹand-his-heartיַעֲשֶׂה־אָוֶןworks-iniquityלַעֲשׂוֹתto-practiseחֹנֶףhypocrisyוּלְדַבֵּרand-to-utterאֶל־יְהֹוָהto-the-LORDתּוֹעָהerrorלְהָרִיקto-make-emptyנֶפֶשׁthe-soul-ofרָעֵבthe-hungryוּמַשְׁקֶהand-the-drink-ofצָמֵאthe-thirstyיַחְסִיר׃he-will-cause-to-fail

   For the vile person will speak villany, and his heart will work iniquity, to practise hypocrisy, and to utter error against the LORD, to make empty the soul of the hungry, and he will cause the drink of the thirsty to fail.

   וְכֵלַיthe-churl-alsoכֵּלָיוhis-instrumentsרָעִיםare-evilהוּאheזִמּוֹתwicked-devicesיָעָץhe-devisesלְחַבֵּלto-destroy(ענוים)[עֲנִיִּים]the-poorבְּאִמְרֵי־שֶׁקֶרwith-lying-wordsוּבְדַבֵּרand-when-speaksאֶבְיוֹןthe-needyמִשְׁפָּט׃right

   The instruments also of the churl are evil: he deviseth wicked devices to destroy the poor with lying words, even when the needy speaketh right.

8. 8

   וְנָדִיבbut-the-liberalנְדִיבוֹתliberal-thingsיָעָץdevisesוְהוּאand-byעַל־נְדִיבוֹתliberal-thingsיָקוּם׃shall-he-stand

   But the liberal deviseth liberal things; and by liberal things shall he stand.

9. 9

   נָשִׁיםyou-womenשַׁאֲנַנּוֹתthat-are-at-easeקֹמְנָהrise-upשְׁמַעְנָהhearקוֹלִיmy-voiceבָּנוֹתyou-daughtersבֹּטְחוֹתcomplacentהַאְזֵנָּהgive-ear-toאִמְרָתִי׃my-speech

   Rise up, ye women that are at ease; hear my voice, ye careless daughters; give ear unto my speech.

10. 10

    יָמִיםsome-daysעַל־שָׁנָהin-a-year-andתִּרְגַּזְנָהyou-shall-be-troubledבֹּטְחוֹתyou-complacent-womenכִּיforכָּלָהshall-failבָצִירthe-vintageאֹסֶףthe-gatheringבְּלִיshall-notיָבוֹא׃come

    Many days and years shall ye be troubled, ye careless women: for the vintage shall fail, the gathering shall not come.

11. 11

    חִרְדוּtrembleשַׁאֲנַנּוֹתyou-women-that-are-at-easeרְגָזָהbe-troubledבֹּטְחוֹתyou-complacent-onesפְּשֹׁטָהstripוְעֹרָהand-make-yourselves-bareוַחֲגוֹרָהand-gird-sackclothעַל־חֲלָצָיִם׃upon-your-loins

    Tremble, ye women that are at ease; be troubled, ye careless ones: strip you, and make you bare, and gird sackcloth upon your loins.

12. 12

    עַל־שָׁדַיִםthe-breastsסֹפְדִיםstrikingעַל־שְׂדֵי־חֶמֶדfor-the-pleasant-fieldsעַל־גֶּפֶןfor-the-vineפֹּרִיָּה׃fruitful

    They shall lament for the teats, for the pleasant fields, for the fruitful vine.

13. 13

    עַלuponאַדְמַתthe-land-ofעַמִּיmy-peopleקוֹץthornsשָׁמִירand-briersתַּעֲלֶהshall-come-upכִּיbecauseעַל־כׇּל־בָּתֵּיyes-upon-all-the-houses-ofמָשׂוֹשׂjoyקִרְיָהin-the-cityעַלִּיזָה׃joyous

    Upon the land of my people shall come up thorns and briers; yea, upon all the houses of joy in the joyous city:

14. 14

    כִּי־אַרְמוֹןbecause-the-palacesנֻטָּשׁshall-be-forsakenהֲמוֹןwith-its-stirעִירthe-cityעֻזָּבshall-be-desertedעֹפֶלthe-fortוָבַחַןand-towerהָיָהshall-beבְעַדforמְעָרוֹתdensעַד־עוֹלָםforeverמְשׂוֹשׂthe-joy-ofפְּרָאִיםof-wild-assesמִרְעֵהa-pasture-ofעֲדָרִים׃flocks

    Because the palaces shall be forsaken; the multitude of the city shall be left; the forts and towers shall be for dens for ever, a joy of wild asses, a pasture of flocks;

15. 15

    עַד־יֵעָרֶהuntil-be-pouredעָלֵינוּover-usרוּחַa-spiritמִמָּרוֹםfrom-on-highוְהָיָהand-beמִדְבָּרthe-wildernessלַכַּרְמֶלa-fruitful-field(וכרמל)[וְהַכַּרְמֶל]and-the-fruitful-fieldלַיַּעַרfor-a-forestיֵחָשֵׁב׃be-counted

    Until the spirit be poured upon us from on high, and the wilderness be a fruitful field, and the fruitful field be counted for a forest.

16. 16

    וְשָׁכַןthen-shall-dwellבַּמִּדְבָּרin-the-wildernessמִשְׁפָּטjudgmentוּצְדָקָהand-righteousnessבַּכַּרְמֶלin-the-fruitful-fieldתֵּשֵׁב׃remain

    Then judgment shall dwell in the wilderness, and righteousness remain in the fruitful field.

17. 17

    וְהָיָהand-beמַעֲשֵׂהthe-work-ofהַצְּדָקָהrighteousnessשָׁלוֹםpeaceוַעֲבֹדַתand-the-effect-ofהַצְּדָקָהrighteousnessהַשְׁקֵטquietnessוָבֶטַחand-assuranceעַד־עוֹלָם׃forever

    And the work of righteousness shall be peace; and the effect of righteousness quietness and assurance for ever.

18. 18

    וְיָשַׁבand-shall-dwellעַמִּיmy-peopleבִּנְוֵהin-a-habitation-ofשָׁלוֹםpeaceוּבְמִשְׁכְּנוֹתand-in-dwellings-ofמִבְטַחִיםsecurityוּבִמְנוּחֹתand-in-resting-placesשַׁאֲנַנּוֹת׃quiet

    And my people shall dwell in a peaceable habitation, and in sure dwellings, and in quiet resting places;

19. 19

    וּבָרַדand-it-shall-hailבְּרֶדֶתin-the-downfall-ofהַיָּעַרthe-forestוּבַשִּׁפְלָהand-into-the-valleyתִּשְׁפַּלshall-descendהָעִיר׃the-city

    When it shall hail, coming down on the forest; and the city shall be low in a low place.

20. 20

    אַשְׁרֵיכֶםblessed-are-youזֹרְעֵיthat-sowעַל־כׇּל־מָיִםbeside-all-watersמְשַׁלְּחֵיthat-let-range-freelyרֶגֶל־הַשּׁוֹרthe-feet-of-the-oxוְהַחֲמוֹר׃and-the-ass

    Blessed are ye that sow beside all waters, that send forth thither the feet of the ox and the ass.
