Hosea 5 הוֹשֵׁעַ פרק ה׳

   שִׁמְעוּ־זֹאתshim/U-zothear thisהַכֹּהֲנִיםhak/ko/ha/NIMO priestsוְהַקְשִׁיבוּve/hak/SHI/vuand hearkenבֵּיתbetO house ofיִשְׂרָאֵלYis/ra/ELIsraelוּבֵיתu/VETand O house ofהַמֶּלֶךְham/ME/lekhthe kingהַאֲזִינוּha/a/ZI/nugive earכִּיkiforלָכֶםla/KHEMtoward you isהַמִּשְׁפָּטham/mish/PATthe judgmentכִּי־פַחki-fachbecause a snareהֱיִיתֶםhe/yi/TEMyou have beenלְמִצְפָּהle/Mits/PAon Mizpahוְרֶשֶׁתve/RE/shetand a netפְּרוּשָׂהpe/ru/SAspreadעַל־תָּבוֹר׃al-Ta/VORupon Tabor

   Hear ye this, O priests; and hearken, ye house of Israel; and give ye ear, O house of the king; for judgment is toward you, because ye have been a snare on Mizpah, and a net spread upon Tabor.

2. 2

   וְשַׁחֲטָהve/sha/cha/TAand slaughterשֵׂטִיםse/TIMthe revoltersהֶעְמִיקוּhe/MI/kuhave gone deepוַאֲנִיva/a/NIand Iמוּסָרmu/SARdisciplineלְכֻלָּם׃le/khul/LAMto them all

   And the revolters are profound to make slaughter, though I have been a rebuker of them all.

   אֲנִיa/NIIיָדַעְתִּיya/DA/tiknowאֶפְרַיִםEf/RA/yimEphraimוְיִשְׂרָאֵלve/Yis/ra/ELand Israelלֹא־נִכְחַדlo-nikh/CHADis not hidמִמֶּנִּיmim/MEN/nifrom meכִּיkiforעַתָּהat/TAnowהִזְנֵיתָhiz/NE/tayou have played the harlotאֶפְרַיִםEf/RA/yimEphraimנִטְמָאnit/MAis defiledיִשְׂרָאֵל׃Yis/ra/ELIsrael

   I know Ephraim, and Israel is not hid from me: for now, O Ephraim, thou committest whoredom, and Israel is defiled.

   לֹאlonotיִתְּנוּyit/te/NUthey will frameמַעַלְלֵיהֶםma/al/le/HEMtheir doingsלָשׁוּבla/SHUVto turnאֶל־אֱלֹהֵיהֶםel-e/lo/he/HEMto their GodכִּיkiforרוּחַRU/achthe spirit ofזְנוּנִיםze/nu/NIMharlotryבְּקִרְבָּםbe/kir/BAMamong themוְאֶת־יְהֹוָהve/ET-Adonaiand the LORDלֹאlonotיָדָעוּ׃ya/DA/uthey have known

   They will not frame their doings to turn unto their God: for the spirit of whoredoms is in the midst of them, and they have not known the LORD.

   וְעָנָהve/a/NAand testifiesגְאוֹן־יִשְׂרָאֵלge/ON-Yis/ra/ELthe pride of Israelבְּפָנָיוbe/fa/NAYVto his faceוְיִשְׂרָאֵלve/Yis/ra/ELand Israelוְאֶפְרַיִםve/Ef/RA/yimand Ephraimיִכָּשְׁלוּyik/ka/she/LUshall stumbleבַּעֲוֺנָםba/a/vo/NAMin their iniquityכָּשַׁלka/SHALstumblesגַּם־יְהוּדָהGam-ye/hu/DAJudah alsoעִמָּם׃im/MAMwith them

   And the pride of Israel doth testify to his face: therefore shall Israel and Ephraim fall in their iniquity; Judah also shall fall with them.

   בְּצֹאנָםbe/tso/NAMwith their flocksוּבִבְקָרָםu/viv/ka/RAMand with their herdsיֵלְכוּyel/KHUthey shall goלְבַקֵּשׁle/vak/KESHto seekאֶת־יְהֹוָהet-Adonaithe LORDוְלֹאve/LOand notיִמְצָאוּyim/TSA/ushall they findחָלַץcha/LATSHe has withdrawnמֵהֶם׃me/HEMfrom them

   They shall go with their flocks and with their herds to seek the LORD; but they shall not find him; he hath withdrawn himself from them.

7. 7

   בַּיהֹוָהba-Adonaiin the LORDבָּגָדוּba/GA/duthey have dealt treacherouslyכִּי־בָנִיםki-va/NIMfor childrenזָרִיםza/RIMstrangeיָלָדוּya/LA/duthey have begottenעַתָּהat/TAnowיֹאכְלֵםyo/khe/LEMshall devour themחֹדֶשׁCHO/desha monthאֶת־חֶלְקֵיהֶם׃et-chel/ke/HEMtheir portions

   They have dealt treacherously against the LORD: for they have begotten strange children: now shall a month devour them with their portions.

   תִּקְעוּtik/Ublowשׁוֹפָרsho/FARthe shofarבַּגִּבְעָהbag/Giv/Ain Gibeahחֲצֹצְרָהcha/tsots/RAthe trumpetבָּרָמָהba/Ra/MAin Ramahהָרִיעוּha/RI/ucry aloudבֵּיתBetat Beth-אָוֶןA/venavenאַחֲרֶיךָa/cha/RE/khaafter youבִּנְיָמִין׃Bin/ya/MINO Benjamin

   Blow ye the cornet in Gibeah, and the trumpet in Ramah: cry aloud at Beth-aven, after thee, O Benjamin.

   אֶפְרַיִםEf/RA/yimEphraimלְשַׁמָּהle/sham/MAdesolateתִהְיֶהtih/YEshall beבְּיוֹםbe/YOMin the day ofתּוֹכֵחָהto/khe/CHArebukeבְּשִׁבְטֵיbe/shiv/TEamong the tribes ofיִשְׂרָאֵלYis/ra/ELIsraelהוֹדַעְתִּיho/DA/tihave I made knownנֶאֱמָנָה׃ne/e/ma/NAthat which shall surely be

   Ephraim shall be desolate in the day of rebuke: among the tribes of Israel have I made known that which shall surely be.

10. 10

    הָיוּha/YUwereשָׂרֵיsa/REthe princes ofיְהוּדָהYe/hu/DAJudahכְּמַסִּיגֵיke/mas/si/GElike them that removeגְּבוּלge/VULthe landmarkעֲלֵיהֶםa/le/HEMupon themאֶשְׁפּוֹךְesh/POKHwill I pour outכַּמַּיִםkam/MA/yimlike waterעֶבְרָתִי׃ev/ra/TImy wrath

    The princes of Judah were like them that remove the bound: therefore I will pour out my wrath upon them like water.

11. 11

    עָשׁוּקa/SHUKis oppressedאֶפְרַיִםEf/RA/yimEphraimרְצוּץre/TSUTSbrokenמִשְׁפָּטmish/PATin judgmentכִּיkibecauseהוֹאִילho/ILhe willinglyהָלַךְha/LAKHwalkedאַחֲרֵי־צָו׃a/cha/RE-tsavafter a command

    Ephraim is oppressed and broken in judgment, because he willingly walked after the commandment.

12. 12

    וַאֲנִיva/a/NIand Iכָעָשׁkha/ASHas a mothלְאֶפְרָיִםle/Ef/RA/yimto Ephraimוְכָרָקָבve/kha/ra/KAVand like rottennessלְבֵיתle/VETto the house ofיְהוּדָה׃Ye/hu/DAJudah

    Therefore will I be unto Ephraim as a moth, and to the house of Judah as rottenness.

13. 13

    וַיַּרְאvay/YARwhen sawאֶפְרַיִםEf/RA/yimEphraimאֶת־חׇלְיוֹet-chol/YOhis sicknessוִיהוּדָהVi/hu/DAand Judahאֶת־מְזֹרוֹet-me/zo/ROhis woundוַיֵּלֶךְvay/YE/lekhthen wentאֶפְרַיִםEf/RA/yimEphraimאֶל־אַשּׁוּרel-Ash/SHURto Assyriaוַיִּשְׁלַחvay/yish/LACHand sentאֶל־מֶלֶךְel-ME/lekhto kingיָרֵבYa/REVJarebוְהוּאve/HUand heלֹאlonotיוּכַלyu/KHALcouldלִרְפֹּאlir/POhealלָכֶםla/KHEMyouוְלֹא־יִגְהֶהve/LO-yig/HEnor cureמִכֶּםmik/KEMfrom youמָזוֹר׃ma/ZORthe wound

    When Ephraim saw his sickness, and Judah saw his wound, then went Ephraim to the Assyrian, and sent to king Jareb: yet could he not heal you, nor cure you of your wound.

14. 14

    כִּיkiforאָנֹכִיa/no/KHIIכַשַּׁחַלkhash/SHA/chalas a lionלְאֶפְרַיִםle/Ef/RA/yimto Ephraimוְכַכְּפִירve/khak/ke/FIRand as a young lionלְבֵיתle/VETto the house ofיְהוּדָהYe/hu/DAJudahאֲנִיa/NIIאֲנִיa/NIeven Iאֶטְרֹףet/ROFwill tearוְאֵלֵךְve/e/LEKHand go awayאֶשָּׂאes/SAI will take awayוְאֵיןve/ENand there is noneמַצִּיל׃mats/TSILto deliver

    For I will be unto Ephraim as a lion, and as a young lion to the house of Judah: I, even I, will tear and go away; I will take away, and none shall rescue him.

15. 15

    אֵלֵךְe/LEKHI will goאָשׁוּבָהa/SHU/vaand returnאֶל־מְקוֹמִיel-me/ko/MIto my placeעַדadtillאֲשֶׁר־יֶאְשְׁמוּa/SHER-ye/she/MUthey acknowledge their guiltוּבִקְשׁוּu/vik/SHUand seekפָנָיfa/NAYmy faceבַּצַּרbats/TSARin the afflictionלָהֶםla/HEMto themיְשַׁחֲרֻנְנִי׃ye/sha/cha/RUN/nithey will seek me early

    I will go and return to my place, till they acknowledge their offence, and seek my face: in their affliction they will seek me early.
