   עַל־מִשְׁמַרְתִּיal-mish/mar/TIupon my watchאֶעֱמֹדָהe/e/MO/daI will standוְאֶתְיַצְּבָהve/et/yats/tse/VAand station myselfעַל־מָצוֹרal-ma/TSORupon the towerוַאֲצַפֶּהva/a/tsap/PEand I will watchלִרְאוֹתlir/OTto seeמַה־יְדַבֶּר־בִּיma-ye/dab/BER-biwhat He will speak to meוּמָהu/MAand whatאָשִׁיבa/SHIVI shall answerעַל־תּוֹכַחְתִּי׃al-to/khach/TIconcerning my reproof

   I will stand upon my watch, and set me upon the tower, and will watch to see what he will say unto me, and what I shall answer when I am reproved.

   וַיַּעֲנֵנִיvay/ya/a/NE/niand answered meיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDוַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand saidכְּתֹבke/TOVwriteחָזוֹןcha/ZONthe visionוּבָאֵרu/va/ERand make it plainעַל־הַלֻּחוֹתal-hal/lu/CHOTupon the tablesלְמַעַןle/MA/anthatיָרוּץya/RUTSmay runקוֹרֵאko/REhe that readsבוֹ׃voit

   And the LORD answered me, and said, Write the vision, and make it plain upon tables, that he may run that readeth it.

   כִּיkiforעוֹדodyetחָזוֹןcha/ZONthe visionלַמּוֹעֵדlam/mo/EDfor the appointed timeוְיָפֵחַve/ya/FE/achand it shall speakלַקֵּץlak/KETSto the endוְלֹאve/LOand notיְכַזֵּבye/khaz/ZEVlieאִם־יִתְמַהְמָהּim-yit/mah/MAthough it tarryחַכֵּה־לוֹchak/KE-lowait for itכִּי־בֹאki-vofor comeיָבֹאya/VOshall comeלֹאlonotיְאַחֵר׃ye/a/CHERit will tarry

   For the vision is yet for an appointed time, but at the end it shall speak, and not lie: though it tarry, wait for it; because it will surely come, it will not tarry.

   הִנֵּהhin/NEbeholdעֻפְּלָהup/pe/LAis lifted upלֹא־יׇשְׁרָהlo-yosh/RAis not uprightנַפְשׁוֹnaf/SHOhis soulבּוֹboin himוְצַדִּיקve/tsad/DIKbut the justבֶּאֱמוּנָתוֹbe/e/mu/na/TOby his faithיִחְיֶה׃yich/YEshall live

   Behold, his soul which is lifted up is not upright in him: but the just shall live by his faith.

   וְאַףve/AFand alsoכִּי־הַיַּיִןki-hay/YA/yinfor the wineבֹּגֵדbo/GEDis treacherousגֶּבֶרGE/vera manיָהִירya/HIRproudוְלֹאve/LOand notיִנְוֶהyin/VEabidesאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhoהִרְחִיבhir/CHIVenlargesכִּשְׁאוֹלKish/OLlike Sheolנַפְשׁוֹnaf/SHOhis soulוְהוּאve/HUand heכַמָּוֶתkham/MA/vetlike deathוְלֹאve/LOand notיִשְׂבָּעyis/BAhe is satisfiedוַיֶּאֱסֹףvay/ye/e/SOFand gathersאֵלָיוe/LAYVto himכׇּל־הַגּוֹיִםkol-hag/go/YIMall the nationsוַיִּקְבֹּץvay/yik/BOTSand heapsאֵלָיוe/LAYVto himכׇּל־הָעַמִּים׃kol-ha/am/MIMall the peoples

   Yea also, because he transgresseth by wine, he is a proud man, neither keepeth at home, who enlargeth his desire as hell, and is as death, and cannot be satisfied, but gathereth unto him all nations, and heapeth unto him all people:

   הֲלוֹא־אֵלֶּהha/LO-EL/leshall not theseכֻלָּםkhul/LAMall of themעָלָיוa/LAYVupon himselfמָשָׁלma/SHALa parableיִשָּׂאוּyis/SA/utake upוּמְלִיצָהu/me/li/TSAand a taunting proverbחִידוֹתchi/DOTriddlesלוֹloagainst himוְיֹאמַרve/yo/MARand sayהוֹיhoywoeהַמַּרְבֶּהham/mar/BEto him that increasesלֹּא־לוֹlo-lothat which is not hisעַד־מָתַיad-ma/TAYhow longוּמַכְבִּידu/makh/BIDand that loadsעָלָיוa/LAYVupon himselfעַבְטִיט׃av/TITthick clay

   Shall not all these take up a parable against him, and a taunting proverb against him, and say, Woe to him that increaseth that which is not his! how long? and to him that ladeth himself with thick clay!

   הֲלוֹאha/LOshall notפֶתַעFE/tasuddenlyיָקוּמוּya/KU/murise upנֹשְׁכֶיךָnosh/KHE/khathat shall bite youוְיִקְצוּve/yik/TSUand awakeמְזַעְזְעֶיךָme/za/ze/E/khathose who shake youוְהָיִיתָve/ha/YI/taand you shall beלִמְשִׁסּוֹתlim/shis/SOTfor bootyלָמוֹ׃LA/mofor them

   Shall they not rise up suddenly that shall bite thee, and awake that shall vex thee, and thou shalt be for booties unto them?

   כִּי־אַתָּהki-at/TAbecause youשַׁלּוֹתָshal/LO/tahave spoiledגּוֹיִםgo/YIMnationsרַבִּיםrab/BIMmanyיְשׇׁלּוּךָye/shol/LU/khashall spoil youכׇּל־יֶתֶרkol-YE/terall the remnant ofעַמִּיםam/MIMpeoplesמִדְּמֵיmid/de/MEbecause of the blood ofאָדָםa/DAMmanוַחֲמַס־אֶרֶץva/cha/MAS-E/retsand the violence of the landקִרְיָהkir/YAthe cityוְכׇל־יֹשְׁבֵיve/KHOL-yosh/VEand all that dwellבָהּ׃vain it

   Because thou hast spoiled many nations, all the remnant of the people shall spoil thee; because of men's blood, and for the violence of the land, of the city, and of all that dwell therein.

   הוֹיhoywoeבֹּצֵעַbo/TSE/athat covetsבֶּצַעBE/tsagainרָעraevilלְבֵיתוֹle/ve/TOto his houseלָשׂוּםla/SUMto setבַּמָּרוֹםbam/ma/ROMon highקִנּוֹkin/NOhis nestלְהִנָּצֵלle/hin/na/TSELto be deliveredמִכַּף־רָע׃mik/KAF-rafrom the power of evil

   Woe to him that coveteth an evil covetousness to his house, that he may set his nest on high, that he may be delivered from the power of evil!

    יָעַצְתָּya/ATS/tayou have counseledבֹּשֶׁתBO/shetshameלְבֵיתֶךָle/ve/TE/khafor your houseקְצוֹת־עַמִּיםke/TSOT-am/MIMby cutting off peoplesרַבִּיםrab/BIMmanyוְחוֹטֵאve/cho/TEand sinning againstנַפְשֶׁךָ׃naf/SHE/khayour soul

    Thou hast consulted shame to thy house by cutting off many people, and hast sinned against thy soul.

11. 11

    כִּי־אֶבֶןki-E/venfor the stoneמִקִּירmik/KIRout of the wallתִּזְעָקtiz/AKshall cry outוְכָפִיסve/kha/FISand the beamמֵעֵץme/ETSout of the timberיַעֲנֶנָּה׃ya/a/NEN/nashall answer it

    For the stone shall cry out of the wall, and the beam out of the timber shall answer it.

12. 12

    הוֹיhoywoeבֹּנֶהbo/NEbuildingעִירira cityבְּדָמִיםbe/da/MIMwith bloodוְכוֹנֵןve/kho/NENand establishesקִרְיָהkir/YAa townבְּעַוְלָה׃be/av/LAby iniquity

    Woe to him that buildeth a town with blood, and stablisheth a city by iniquity!

13. 13

    הֲלוֹאha/LOis it notהִנֵּהhin/NEbeholdמֵאֵתme/ETfromיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDצְבָאוֹתTse/va/OTof Hostsוְיִיגְעוּve/yi/ge/Uthat laborעַמִּיםam/MIMpeoplesבְּדֵי־אֵשׁbe/DE-eshin the very fireוּלְאֻמִּיםu/le/um/MIMand nationsבְּדֵי־רִיקbe/DE-rikfor very vanityיִעָפוּ׃yi/A/futhey grow weary

    Behold, is it not of the LORD of hosts that the people shall labour in the very fire, and the people shall weary themselves for very vanity?

14. 14

    כִּיkiforתִּמָּלֵאtim/ma/LEshall be filledהָאָרֶץha/A/retsthe earthלָדַעַתla/DA/atto knowאֶת־כְּבוֹדet-ke/VODthe glory ofיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDכַּמַּיִםkam/MA/yimas the watersיְכַסּוּye/khas/SUcoverעַל־יָם׃al-yamupon the sea

    For the earth shall be filled with the knowledge of the glory of the LORD, as the waters cover the sea.

15. 15

    הוֹיhoywoeמַשְׁקֵהmash/KEthat gives drink toרֵעֵהוּre/E/huhis neighborמְסַפֵּחַme/sap/PE/achaddingחֲמָתְךָcha/ma/te/KHAyour wrathוְאַףve/AFand alsoשַׁכֵּרshak/KERmaking drunkלְמַעַןle/MA/anthatהַבִּיטhab/BITto lookעַל־מְעוֹרֵיהֶם׃al-me/o/re/HEMupon their nakedness

    Woe unto him that giveth his neighbour drink, that puttest thy bottle to him, and makest him drunken also, that thou mayest look on their nakedness!

16. 16

    שָׂבַעְתָּsa/VA/tayou are filledקָלוֹןka/LONshameמִכָּבוֹדmik/ka/VODinstead of gloryשְׁתֵהshe/TEdrinkגַם־אַתָּהgam-at/TAalso youוְהֵעָרֵלve/he/a/RELand let your foreskin be uncoveredתִּסּוֹבtis/SOVshall turnעָלֶיךָa/LE/khaupon youכּוֹסkosthe cup ofיְמִיןye/MINthe right hand ofיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDוְקִיקָלוֹןve/ki/ka/LONand shameful spewingעַל־כְּבוֹדֶךָ׃al-ke/vo/DE/khaupon your glory

    Thou art filled with shame for glory: drink thou also, and let thy foreskin be uncovered: the cup of the LORD's right hand shall be turned unto thee, and shameful spewing shall be on thy glory.

    כִּיkiforחֲמַסcha/MASthe violence ofלְבָנוֹןLe/va/NONLebanonיְכַסֶּךָּye/khas/SEK/kashall cover youוְשֹׁדve/SHODand the spoil ofבְּהֵמוֹתbe/he/MOTbeastsיְחִיתַןye/chi/TANterrified themמִדְּמֵיmid/de/MEbecause of the blood ofאָדָםa/DAMmanוַחֲמַס־אֶרֶץva/cha/MAS-E/retsand the violence of the landקִרְיָהkir/YAthe cityוְכׇל־יֹשְׁבֵיve/KHOL-yosh/VEand all that dwellבָהּ׃vain it

    For the violence of Lebanon shall cover thee, and the spoil of beasts, which made them afraid, because of men's blood, and for the violence of the land, of the city, and of all that dwell therein.

    מָה־הוֹעִילma-ho/ILwhat profitsפֶּסֶלPE/selthe graven imageכִּיkithatפְסָלוֹfe/sa/LOhas carved itיֹצְרוֹyots/ROits makerמַסֵּכָהmas/se/KHAa molten imageוּמוֹרֶהu/mo/REand a teacher ofשָּׁקֶרSHA/kerliesכִּיkithatבָטַחva/TACHtrustsיֹצֵרyo/TSERthe maker ofיִצְרוֹyits/ROhis workעָלָיוa/LAYVin itלַעֲשׂוֹתla/a/SOTto makeאֱלִילִיםe/li/LIMidolsאִלְּמִים׃il/le/MIMdumb

    What profiteth the graven image that the maker thereof hath graven it; the molten image, and a teacher of lies, that the maker of his work trusteth therein, to make dumb idols?

19. 19

    הוֹיhoywoeאֹמֵרo/MERthat saysלָעֵץla/ETSto the woodהָקִיצָהha/KI/tsaawakeעוּרִיu/RIariseלְאֶבֶןle/E/vento the stoneדּוּמָםdu/MAMsilentהוּאhushall itיוֹרֶהyo/REteachהִנֵּה־הוּאhin/NE-hubehold it isתָּפוּשׂta/FUSoverlaid withזָהָבza/HAVgoldוָכֶסֶףva/KHE/sefand silverוְכׇל־רוּחַve/KHOL-RU/achand any breathאֵיןenthere is noבְּקִרְבּוֹ׃be/kir/BOin its midst

    Woe unto him that saith to the wood, Awake; to the dumb stone, Arise, it shall teach! Behold, it is laid over with gold and silver, and there is no breath at all in the midst of it.

20. 20

    וַיהֹוָהve-Adonaiand the LORDבְּהֵיכַלbe/he/KHALin the temple ofקׇדְשׁוֹkod/SHOHis holinessהַסhassilenceמִפָּנָיוmip/pa/NAYVbefore Himכׇּל־הָאָרֶץ׃kol-ha/A/retsall the earth

    But the LORD is in his holy temple: let all the earth keep silence before him.
