   And it came to pass after these things, that God did tempt Abraham, and said unto him, Abraham: and he said, Behold, here I am.

   And he said, Take now thy son, thine only son Isaac, whom thou lovest, and get thee into the land of Moriah; and offer him there for a burnt offering upon one of the mountains which I will tell thee of.

   וַיַּשְׁכֵּםvay/yash/KEMand he rose earlyאַבְרָהָםAv/ra/HAMAbrahamבַּבֹּקֶרbab/BO/kerin the morningוַיַּחֲבֹשׁvay/ya/cha/VOSHand he saddledאֶת־חֲמֹרוֹet-cha/mo/ROhis donkeyוַיִּקַּחvay/yik/KACHand tookאֶת־שְׁנֵיet-she/NEtwoנְעָרָיוne/a/RAYVhis young menאִתּוֹit/TOwith himוְאֵתve/ETandיִצְחָקYits/CHAKIsaacבְּנוֹbe/NOhis sonוַיְבַקַּעvay/vak/KAand splitעֲצֵיa/TSEthe wood forעֹלָהo/LAthe burnt offeringוַיָּקׇםvay/YA/komand rose upוַיֵּלֶךְvay/YE/lekhand wentאֶל־הַמָּקוֹםel-ham/ma/KOMto the placeאֲשֶׁר־אָמַר־לוֹa/SHER-a/MAR-loof which had told himהָאֱלֹהִים׃ha/e/lo/HIMGod

   And Abraham rose up early in the morning, and saddled his ass, and took two of his young men with him, and Isaac his son, and clave the wood for the burnt offering, and rose up, and went unto the place of which God had told him.

   Then on the third day Abraham lifted up his eyes, and saw the place afar off.

   וַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand saidאַבְרָהָםAv/ra/HAMAbrahamאֶל־נְעָרָיוel-ne/a/RAYVto his young menשְׁבוּ־לָכֶםshe/VU-la/KHEMabide youפֹּהpohereעִם־הַחֲמוֹרim-ha/cha/MORwith the donkeyוַאֲנִיva/a/NIand Iוְהַנַּעַרve/han/NA/arand the ladנֵלְכָהnel/KHAlet us goעַד־כֹּהad-koyonderוְנִשְׁתַּחֲוֶהve/nish/ta/cha/VEand worshipוְנָשׁוּבָהve/na/SHU/vaand come againאֲלֵיכֶם׃a/le/KHEMto you

   And Abraham said unto his young men, Abide ye here with the ass; and I and the lad will go yonder and worship, and come again to you.

   וַיִּקַּחvay/yik/KACHand tookאַבְרָהָםAv/ra/HAMAbrahamאֶת־עֲצֵיet-a/TSEthe wood ofהָעֹלָהha/o/LAthe burnt offeringוַיָּשֶׂםvay/YA/semand laidעַל־יִצְחָקal-Yits/CHAKupon Isaacבְּנוֹbe/NOhis sonוַיִּקַּחvay/yik/KACHand tookבְּיָדוֹbe/ya/DOin his handאֶת־הָאֵשׁet-ha/ESHthe fireוְאֶת־הַמַּאֲכֶלֶתve/ET-ham/ma/a/KHE/letand the knifeוַיֵּלְכוּvay/yel/KHUand they wentשְׁנֵיהֶםshe/ne/HEMboth of themיַחְדָּו׃yach/DAVtogether

   And Abraham took the wood of the burnt offering, and laid it upon Isaac his son; and he took the fire in his hand, and a knife; and they went both of them together.

   וַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand saidיִצְחָקYits/CHAKIsaacאֶל־אַבְרָהָםel-Av/ra/HAMto Abrahamאָבִיוa/VIVhis fatherוַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand saidאָבִיa/VImy fatherוַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand saidהִנֶּנִּיhin/NEN/nihere am Iבְנִיve/NImy sonוַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand saidהִנֵּהhin/NEbeholdהָאֵשׁha/ESHthe fireוְהָעֵצִיםve/ha/e/TSIMand the woodוְאַיֵּהve/ay/YEand where isהַשֶּׂהhas/SEthe lambלְעֹלָה׃le/o/LAfor a burnt offering

   And Isaac spake unto Abraham his father, and said, My father: and he said, Here am I, my son. And he said, Behold the fire and the wood: but where is the lamb for a burnt offering?

8. 8

   וַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand saidאַבְרָהָםAv/ra/HAMAbrahamאֱלֹהִיםe/lo/HIMGodיִרְאֶה־לּוֹyir/E-lowill provide for Himselfהַשֶּׂהhas/SEthe lambלְעֹלָהle/o/LAfor a burnt offeringבְּנִיbe/NImy sonוַיֵּלְכוּvay/yel/KHUand they wentשְׁנֵיהֶםshe/ne/HEMboth of themיַחְדָּו׃yach/DAVtogether

   And Abraham said, My son, God will provide himself a lamb for a burnt offering: so they went both of them together.

9. 9

   וַיָּבֹאוּvay/ya/VO/uand they cameאֶל־הַמָּקוֹםel-ham/ma/KOMto the placeאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhichאָמַר־לוֹa/MAR-lohad told him ofהָאֱלֹהִיםha/e/lo/HIMGodוַיִּבֶןvay/YI/venand builtשָׁםshamthereאַבְרָהָםAv/ra/HAMAbrahamאֶת־הַמִּזְבֵּחַet-ham/miz/BE/achthe altarוַיַּעֲרֹךְvay/ya/a/ROKHand laid in orderאֶת־הָעֵצִיםet-ha/e/TSIMthe woodוַיַּעֲקֹדvay/ya/a/KODand he boundאֶת־יִצְחָקet-Yits/CHAKIsaacבְּנוֹbe/NOhis sonוַיָּשֶׂםvay/YA/semand laidאֹתוֹo/TOhimעַל־הַמִּזְבֵּחַal-ham/miz/BE/achupon the altarמִמַּעַלmim/MA/alaboveלָעֵצִים׃la/e/TSIMthe wood

   And they came to the place which God had told him of; and Abraham built an altar there, and laid the wood in order, and bound Isaac his son, and laid him on the altar upon the wood.

10. 10

    וַיִּשְׁלַחvay/yish/LACHand he put forthאַבְרָהָםAv/ra/HAMAbrahamאֶת־יָדוֹet-ya/DOhis handוַיִּקַּחvay/yik/KACHand tookאֶת־הַמַּאֲכֶלֶתet-ham/ma/a/KHE/letthe knifeלִשְׁחֹטlish/CHOTto slayאֶת־בְּנוֹ׃et-be/NOhis son

    And Abraham stretched forth his hand, and took the knife to slay his son.

11. 11

    וַיִּקְרָאvay/yik/RAand calledאֵלָיוe/LAYVto himמַלְאַךְmal/AKHthe angel ofיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDמִן־הַשָּׁמַיִםmin-hash/sha/MA/yimout of heavenוַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand saidאַבְרָהָםAv/ra/HAMAbrahamאַבְרָהָםAv/ra/HAMAbrahamוַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand saidהִנֵּנִי׃hin/NE/nihere am I

    And the angel of the LORD called unto him out of heaven, and said, Abraham, Abraham: and he said, Here am I.

12. 12

    וַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand saidאַל־תִּשְׁלַחal-tish/LACHlay notיָדְךָya/de/KHAyour handאֶל־הַנַּעַרel-han/NA/arupon the ladוְאַל־תַּעַשׂve/AL-TA/asneither doלוֹloto himמְאוּמָהme/U/maanythingכִּיkiforעַתָּהat/TAnowיָדַעְתִּיya/DA/tiI knowכִּי־יְרֵאki-ye/REthat a fearer ofאֱלֹהִיםe/lo/HIMGodאַתָּהat/TAyou areוְלֹאve/LOand notחָשַׂכְתָּcha/SAKH/tayou have withheldאֶת־בִּנְךָet-bin/KHAyour sonאֶת־יְחִידְךָet-ye/chi/de/KHAyour only sonמִמֶּנִּי׃mim/MEN/nifrom me

    And he said, Lay not thine hand upon the lad, neither do thou any thing unto him: for now I know that thou fearest God, seeing thou hast not withheld thy son, thine only son from me.

    וַיִּשָּׂאvay/yis/SAand lifted upאַבְרָהָםAv/ra/HAMAbrahamאֶת־עֵינָיוet-e/NAYVhis eyesוַיַּרְאvay/YARand sawוְהִנֵּה־אַיִלve/hin/NE-A/yiland behold a ramאַחַרa/CHARbehind himנֶאֱחַזne/e/CHAZcaughtבַּסְּבַךְbas/se/VAKHin the thicketבְּקַרְנָיוbe/kar/NAYVby his hornsוַיֵּלֶךְvay/YE/lekhand wentאַבְרָהָםAv/ra/HAMAbrahamוַיִּקַּחvay/yik/KACHand tookאֶת־הָאַיִלet-ha/A/yilthe ramוַיַּעֲלֵהוּvay/ya/a/LE/huand offered him upלְעֹלָהle/o/LAfor a burnt offeringתַּחַתTA/chatin the stead ofבְּנוֹ׃be/NOhis son

    And Abraham lifted up his eyes, and looked, and behold behind him a ram caught in a thicket by his horns: and Abraham went and took the ram, and offered him up for a burnt offering in the stead of his son.

14. 14

    וַיִּקְרָאvay/yik/RAand calledאַבְרָהָםAv/ra/HAMAbrahamשֵׁם־הַמָּקוֹםshem-ham/ma/KOMthe name of the placeהַהוּאha/HUthatיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDיִרְאֶהyir/Ewill provideאֲשֶׁרa/SHERasיֵאָמֵרye/a/MERit is saidהַיּוֹםhay/YOMto this dayבְּהַרbe/HARin the mount ofיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDיֵרָאֶה׃ye/ra/Eit shall be seen

    And Abraham called the name of that place Jehovah-jireh: as it is said to this day, In the mount of the LORD it shall be seen.

15. 15

    וַיִּקְרָאvay/yik/RAand calledמַלְאַךְmal/AKHthe angel ofיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDאֶל־אַבְרָהָםel-Av/ra/HAMto Abrahamשֵׁנִיתshe/NITagainמִן־הַשָּׁמָיִם׃min-hash/sha/MA/yimout of heaven

    And the angel of the LORD called unto Abraham out of heaven the second time,

16. 16

    וַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand saidבִּיbiby myselfנִשְׁבַּעְתִּיnish/BA/tiI have swornנְאֻם־יְהֹוָהne/UM-Adonaisays the LORDכִּיkiforיַעַןYA/anbecauseאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthatעָשִׂיתָa/SI/tayou have doneאֶת־הַדָּבָרet-had/da/VARthe thingהַזֶּהhaz/ZEthisוְלֹאve/LOand notחָשַׂכְתָּcha/SAKH/tayou have withheldאֶת־בִּנְךָet-bin/KHAyour sonאֶת־יְחִידֶךָ׃et-ye/chi/DE/khayour only son

    And said, By myself have I sworn, saith the LORD, for because thou hast done this thing, and hast not withheld thy son, thine only son:

17. 17

    כִּי־בָרֵךְki-va/REKHthat blessאֲבָרֶכְךָa/va/rekh/KHAI will bless youוְהַרְבָּהve/har/BAand multiplyאַרְבֶּהar/BEI will multiplyאֶת־זַרְעֲךָet-zar/a/KHAyour seedכְּכוֹכְבֵיke/khokh/VElike the stars ofהַשָּׁמַיִםhash/sha/MA/yimthe heavensוְכַחוֹלve/kha/CHOLand as the sandאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhich isעַל־שְׂפַתal-se/FATupon the shore ofהַיָּםhay/YAMthe seaוְיִרַשׁve/yi/RASHand shall possessזַרְעֲךָzar/a/KHAyour seedאֵת־שַׁעַרet-SHA/arthe gate ofאֹיְבָיו׃oy/VAYVhis enemies

    That in blessing I will bless thee, and in multiplying I will multiply thy seed as the stars of the heaven, and as the sand which is upon the sea shore; and thy seed shall possess the gate of his enemies;

18. 18

    וְהִתְבָּרְכוּve/hit/BAR/khuand they will bless themselvesבְזַרְעֲךָve/zar/a/KHAin your seedכֹּלkolallגּוֹיֵיgo/YEnations ofהָאָרֶץha/A/retsthe earthעֵקֶבE/kevbecauseאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthatשָׁמַעְתָּsha/MA/tayou have obeyedבְּקֹלִי׃be/ko/LImy voice

    And in thy seed shall all the nations of the earth be blessed; because thou hast obeyed my voice.

19. 19

    וַיָּשׇׁבvay/YA/shovso returnedאַבְרָהָםAv/ra/HAMAbrahamאֶל־נְעָרָיוel-ne/a/RAYVto his young menוַיָּקֻמוּvay/ya/KU/muand they rose upוַיֵּלְכוּvay/yel/KHUand they wentיַחְדָּוyach/DAVtogetherאֶל־בְּאֵרel-Be/ERto Beer-שָׁבַעSHA/vashebaוַיֵּשֶׁבvay/YE/shevand he dweltאַבְרָהָםAv/ra/HAMAbrahamבִּבְאֵרBiv/ERat Beer-שָׁבַע׃SHA/vasheba

    So Abraham returned unto his young men, and they rose up and went together to Beer-sheba; and Abraham dwelt at Beer-sheba.

20. 20

    וַיְהִיvay/HIand it came to passאַחֲרֵיa/cha/REafterהַדְּבָרִיםhad/de/va/RIMthe thingsהָאֵלֶּהha/EL/letheseוַיֻּגַּדvay/yug/GADthat it was toldלְאַבְרָהָםLe/av/ra/HAMAbrahamלֵאמֹרle/MORsayingהִנֵּהhin/NEbeholdיָלְדָהya/le/DAhas borneמִלְכָּהMil/KAMilcahגַם־הִואgam-hivshe alsoבָּנִיםba/NIMsonsלְנָחוֹרle/Na/CHORto Nahorאָחִיךָ׃a/CHI/khayour brother

    And it came to pass after these things, that it was told Abraham, saying, Behold, Milcah, she hath also born children unto thy brother Nahor;

21. 21

    אֶת־עוּץet-UtsUzבְּכֹרוֹbe/kho/ROhis firstbornוְאֶת־בּוּזve/ET-buzand Buzאָחִיוa/CHIVhis brotherוְאֶת־קְמוּאֵלve/ET-ke/mu/ELand Kemuelאֲבִיa/VIthe father ofאֲרָם׃A/RAMAram

    Huz his firstborn, and Buz his brother, and Kemuel the father of Aram,

22. 22

    וְאֶת־כֶּשֶׂדve/ET-KE/sedand Kesedוְאֶת־חֲזוֹve/ET-cha/ZOand Hazoוְאֶת־פִּלְדָּשׁve/ET-pil/DASHand Pildashוְאֶת־יִדְלָףve/ET-yid/LAFand Jidlaphוְאֵתve/ETandבְּתוּאֵל׃Be/tu/ELBethuel

    And Chesed, and Hazo, and Pildash, and Jidlaph, and Bethuel.

23. 23

    וּבְתוּאֵלu/ve/Tu/ELand Bethuelיָלַדya/LADbegatאֶת־רִבְקָהet-Riv/KARebekahשְׁמֹנָהshe/mo/NAeightאֵלֶּהEL/letheseיָלְדָהya/le/DAdid bearמִלְכָּהMil/KAMilcahלְנָחוֹרle/Na/CHORto Nahorאֲחִיa/CHIthe brother ofאַבְרָהָם׃Av/ra/HAMAbraham

    And Bethuel begat Rebekah: these eight Milcah did bear to Nahor, Abraham's brother.

24. 24

    וּפִילַגְשׁוֹu/fi/lag/SHOand his concubineוּשְׁמָהּu/she/MAwhose nameרְאוּמָהRe/u/MAReumahוַתֵּלֶדvat/TE/ledand boreגַּם־הִואgam-hivshe alsoאֶת־טֶבַחet-TE/vachTebahוְאֶת־גַּחַםve/ET-GA/chamand Gahamוְאֶת־תַּחַשׁve/ET-TA/chashand Tahashוְאֶת־מַעֲכָה׃ve/ET-ma/a/KHAand Maachah

    And his concubine, whose name was Reumah, she bare also Tebah, and Gaham, and Thahash, and Maachah.
