   And when Abram was ninety years old and nine, the LORD appeared to Abram, and said unto him, I am the Almighty God; walk before me, and be thou perfect.

   וְאֶתְּנָהve/et/te/NAand I will makeבְרִיתִיve/ri/TImy covenantבֵּינִיbe/NIbetween meוּבֵינֶךָu/ve/NE/khaand between youוְאַרְבֶּהve/ar/BEand I will multiplyאוֹתְךָot/KHAyouבִּמְאֹדbim/ODexceedinglyמְאֹד׃me/ODexceedingly

   And I will make my covenant between me and thee, and will multiply thee exceedingly.

3. 3

   וַיִּפֹּלvay/yip/POLand fellאַבְרָםAv/RAMAbramעַל־פָּנָיוal-pa/NAYVupon his faceוַיְדַבֵּרvay/dab/BERand spokeאִתּוֹit/TOwith himאֱלֹהִיםe/lo/HIMGodלֵאמֹר׃le/MORsaying

   And Abram fell on his face: and God talked with him, saying,

   אֲנִיa/NIas for meהִנֵּהhin/NEbeholdבְרִיתִיve/ri/TImy covenantאִתָּךְit/TAKHis with youוְהָיִיתָve/ha/YI/taand you shall beלְאַבle/AVa father ofהֲמוֹןha/MONa multitude ofגּוֹיִם׃go/YIMnations

   As for me, behold, my covenant is with thee, and thou shalt be a father of many nations.

5. 5

   וְלֹא־יִקָּרֵאve/LO-yik/ka/REneither shall be calledעוֹדodany moreאֶת־שִׁמְךָet-shim/KHAyour nameאַבְרָםAv/RAMAbramוְהָיָהve/ha/YAbut shall beשִׁמְךָshim/KHAyour nameאַבְרָהָםAv/ra/HAMAbrahamכִּיkiforאַב־הֲמוֹןav-ha/MONa father of a multitude ofגּוֹיִםgo/YIMnationsנְתַתִּיךָ׃ne/tat/TI/khahave I made you

   Neither shall thy name any more be called Abram, but thy name shall be Abraham; for a father of many nations have I made thee.

6. 6

   וְהִפְרֵתִיve/hif/re/TIand I will make fruitfulאֹתְךָot/KHAyouבִּמְאֹדbim/ODexceedinglyמְאֹדme/ODexceedinglyוּנְתַתִּיךָu/ne/tat/TI/khaand I will make youלְגוֹיִםle/go/YIMnationsוּמְלָכִיםu/me/la/KHIMand kingsמִמְּךָmim/me/KHAout of youיֵצֵאוּ׃ye/TSE/ushall come forth

   And I will make thee exceeding fruitful, and I will make nations of thee, and kings shall come out of thee.

   וַהֲקִמֹתִיva/ha/ki/mo/TIand I will establishאֶת־בְּרִיתִיet-be/ri/TImy covenantבֵּינִיbe/NIbetween meוּבֵינֶךָu/ve/NE/khaand between youוּבֵיןu/VENand betweenזַרְעֲךָzar/a/KHAyour seedאַחֲרֶיךָa/cha/RE/khaafter youלְדֹרֹתָםle/do/ro/TAMin their generationsלִבְרִיתliv/RITfor a covenantעוֹלָםo/LAMeverlastingלִהְיוֹתlih/YOTto beלְךָle/KHAto youלֵאלֹהִיםle/lo/HIMGodוּלְזַרְעֲךָu/le/zar/a/KHAand to your seedאַחֲרֶיךָ׃a/cha/RE/khaafter you

   And I will establish my covenant between me and thee and thy seed after thee in their generations for an everlasting covenant, to be a God unto thee, and to thy seed after thee.

8. 8

   וְנָתַתִּיve/na/tat/TIand I will giveלְךָle/KHAto youוּלְזַרְעֲךָu/le/zar/a/KHAand to your seedאַחֲרֶיךָa/cha/RE/khaafter youאֵת־אֶרֶץet-E/retsthe land ofמְגֻרֶיךָme/gu/RE/khayour sojourningsאֵת־כׇּל־אֶרֶץet-kol-E/retsall the land ofכְּנַעַןKe/NA/anCanaanלַאֲחֻזַּתla/a/chuz/ZATfor a possessionעוֹלָםo/LAMeverlastingוְהָיִיתִיve/ha/YI/tiand I will beלָהֶםla/HEMto themלֵאלֹהִים׃le/lo/HIMGod

   And I will give unto thee, and to thy seed after thee, the land wherein thou art a stranger, all the land of Canaan, for an everlasting possession; and I will be their God.

   וַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand saidאֱלֹהִיםe/lo/HIMGodאֶל־אַבְרָהָםel-Av/ra/HAMto Abrahamוְאַתָּהve/at/TAand youאֶת־בְּרִיתִיet-be/ri/TImy covenantתִשְׁמֹרtish/MORshall keepאַתָּהat/TAyouוְזַרְעֲךָve/zar/a/KHAand your seedאַחֲרֶיךָa/cha/RE/khaafter youלְדֹרֹתָם׃le/do/ro/TAMin their generations

   And God said unto Abraham, Thou shalt keep my covenant therefore, thou, and thy seed after thee in their generations.

10. 10

    זֹאתzotthis isבְּרִיתִיbe/ri/TImy covenantאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhichתִּשְׁמְרוּtish/me/RUyou shall keepבֵּינִיbe/NIbetween meוּבֵינֵיכֶםu/ve/ne/KHEMand between youוּבֵיןu/VENand betweenזַרְעֲךָzar/a/KHAyour seedאַחֲרֶיךָa/cha/RE/khaafter youהִמּוֹלhim/MOLshall be circumcisedלָכֶםla/KHEMamong youכׇּל־זָכָר׃kol-za/KHARevery male

    This is my covenant, which ye shall keep, between me and you and thy seed after thee; Every man child among you shall be circumcised.

11. 11

    וּנְמַלְתֶּםu/ne/mal/TEMand you shall circumciseאֵת־בְּשַׂרet-be/SARthe flesh ofעׇרְלַתְכֶםor/lat/KHEMyour foreskinוְהָיָהve/ha/YAand it shall beלְאוֹתle/OTa token ofבְּרִיתbe/RITthe covenantבֵּינִיbe/NIbetween meוּבֵינֵיכֶם׃u/ve/ne/KHEMand between you

    And ye shall circumcise the flesh of your foreskin; and it shall be a token of the covenant betwixt me and you.

12. 12

    וּבֶן־שְׁמֹנַתu/VEN-she/mo/NATand a son of eightיָמִיםya/MIMdaysיִמּוֹלyim/MOLshall be circumcisedלָכֶםla/KHEMamong youכׇּל־זָכָרkol-za/KHARevery maleלְדֹרֹתֵיכֶםle/do/ro/te/KHEMin your generationsיְלִידye/LIDhe that is born inבָּיִתBA/yitthe houseוּמִקְנַת־כֶּסֶףu/mik/NAT-KE/sefor bought with moneyמִכֹּלmik/KOLof anyבֶּן־נֵכָרben-ne/KHARstrangerאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhoלֹאlonotמִזַּרְעֲךָmiz/zar/a/KHAof your seedהוּא׃huis

    And he that is eight days old shall be circumcised among you, every man child in your generations, he that is born in the house, or bought with money of any stranger, which is not of thy seed.

13. 13

    הִמּוֹלhim/MOLbe circumcisedיִמּוֹלyim/MOLshall be circumcisedיְלִידye/LIDhe that is born inבֵּיתְךָbe/te/KHAyour houseוּמִקְנַתu/mik/NATand he that is bought withכַּסְפֶּךָkas/PE/khayour moneyוְהָיְתָהve/ha/ye/TAand shall beבְרִיתִיve/ri/TImy covenantבִּבְשַׂרְכֶםbiv/sar/KHEMin your fleshלִבְרִיתliv/RITfor a covenantעוֹלָם׃o/LAMeverlasting

    He that is born in thy house, and he that is bought with thy money, must needs be circumcised: and my covenant shall be in your flesh for an everlasting covenant.

14. 14

    וְעָרֵלve/a/RELand the uncircumcisedזָכָרza/KHARmaleאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhoseלֹא־יִמּוֹלlo-yim/MOLis not circumcisedאֶת־בְּשַׂרet-be/SARthe flesh ofעׇרְלָתוֹor/la/TOhis foreskinוְנִכְרְתָהve/nikh/re/TAshall be cut offהַנֶּפֶשׁhan/NE/feshthe soulהַהִואha/HIVthatמֵעַמֶּיהָme/am/ME/hafrom his peopleאֶת־בְּרִיתִיet-be/ri/TImy covenantהֵפַר׃he/FARhe has broken

    And the uncircumcised man child whose flesh of his foreskin is not circumcised, that soul shall be cut off from his people; he hath broken my covenant.

15. 15

    וַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand saidאֱלֹהִיםe/lo/HIMGodאֶל־אַבְרָהָםel-Av/ra/HAMto AbrahamשָׂרַיSa/RAYSaraiאִשְׁתְּךָish/te/KHAyour wifeלֹא־תִקְרָאlo-tik/RAyou shall not callאֶת־שְׁמָהּet-she/MAher nameשָׂרָיSa/RAYSaraiכִּיkiforשָׂרָהSa/RASarahשְׁמָהּ׃she/MAis her name

    And God said unto Abraham, As for Sarai thy wife, thou shalt not call her name Sarai, but Sarah shall her name be.

16. 16

    וּבֵרַכְתִּיu/ve/rakh/TIand I will blessאֹתָהּo/TAherוְגַםve/GAMand alsoנָתַתִּיna/TAT/tiI will giveמִמֶּנָּהmim/MEN/nafrom herלְךָle/KHAto youבֵּןbena sonוּבֵרַכְתִּיהָu/ve/rakh/TI/haand I will bless herוְהָיְתָהve/ha/ye/TAand she shall beלְגוֹיִםle/go/YIMnationsמַלְכֵיmal/KHEkings ofעַמִּיםam/MIMpeoplesמִמֶּנָּהmim/MEN/nafrom herיִהְיוּ׃yih/YUshall be

    And I will bless her, and give thee a son also of her: yea, I will bless her, and she shall be a mother of nations; kings of people shall be of her.

17. 17

    וַיִּפֹּלvay/yip/POLand fellאַבְרָהָםAv/ra/HAMAbrahamעַל־פָּנָיוal-pa/NAYVupon his faceוַיִּצְחָקvay/yits/CHAKand laughedוַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand saidבְּלִבּוֹbe/lib/BOin his heartהַלְּבֶןhal/le/VENshall to a son ofמֵאָה־שָׁנָהme/A-sha/NAa hundred yearsיִוָּלֵדyiv/va/LEDbe bornוְאִם־שָׂרָהve/IM-sa/RAand shall Sarahהֲבַת־תִּשְׁעִיםha/VAT-tish/IMa daughter of ninetyשָׁנָהsha/NAyearsתֵּלֵד׃te/LEDbear

    Then Abraham fell upon his face, and laughed, and said in his heart, Shall a child be born unto him that is an hundred years old? and shall Sarah, that is ninety years old, bear?

18. 18

    וַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand saidאַבְרָהָםAv/ra/HAMAbrahamאֶל־הָאֱלֹהִיםel-ha/e/lo/HIMto GodלוּluO thatיִשְׁמָעֵאלYish/ma/ELIshmaelיִחְיֶהyich/YEmight liveלְפָנֶיךָ׃le/fa/NE/khabefore You

    And Abraham said unto God, O that Ishmael might live before thee!

19. 19

    וַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand saidאֱלֹהִיםe/lo/HIMGodאֲבָלa/VALtrulyשָׂרָהSa/RASarahאִשְׁתְּךָish/te/KHAyour wifeיֹלֶדֶתyo/LE/detshall bearלְךָle/KHAto youבֵּןbena sonוְקָרָאתָve/ka/RA/taand you shall callאֶת־שְׁמוֹet-she/MOhis nameיִצְחָקYits/CHAKIsaacוַהֲקִמֹתִיva/ha/ki/mo/TIand I will establishאֶת־בְּרִיתִיet-be/ri/TImy covenantאִתּוֹit/TOwith himלִבְרִיתliv/RITfor a covenantעוֹלָםo/LAMeverlastingלְזַרְעוֹle/zar/Owith his seedאַחֲרָיו׃a/cha/RAYVafter him

    And God said, Sarah thy wife shall bear thee a son indeed; and thou shalt call his name Isaac: and I will establish my covenant with him for an everlasting covenant, and with his seed after him.

20. 20

    וּלְיִשְׁמָעֵאלu/Le/yish/ma/ELand as for Ishmaelשְׁמַעְתִּיךָshe/ma/TI/khaI have heard youהִנֵּהhin/NEbeholdבֵּרַכְתִּיbe/RAKH/tiI have blessedאֹתוֹo/TOhimוְהִפְרֵיתִיve/hif/re/TIand I will make fruitfulאֹתוֹo/TOhimוְהִרְבֵּיתִיve/hir/be/TIand I will multiplyאֹתוֹo/TOhimבִּמְאֹדbim/ODexceedinglyמְאֹדme/ODexceedinglyשְׁנֵים־עָשָׂרshe/NEM-a/SARtwelveנְשִׂיאִםne/si/IMprincesיוֹלִידyo/LIDshall he begetוּנְתַתִּיוu/ne/tat/TIVand I will make himלְגוֹיle/GOYinto a nationגָּדוֹל׃ga/DOLgreat

    And as for Ishmael, I have heard thee: Behold, I have blessed him, and will make him fruitful, and will multiply him exceedingly; twelve princes shall he beget, and I will make him a great nation.

21. 21

    וְאֶת־בְּרִיתִיve/ET-be/ri/TIbut my covenantאָקִיםa/KIMI will establishאֶת־יִצְחָקet-Yits/CHAKwith Isaacאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhomתֵּלֵדte/LEDshall bearלְךָle/KHAto youשָׂרָהSa/RASarahלַמּוֹעֵדlam/mo/EDat set timeהַזֶּהhaz/ZEthisבַּשָּׁנָהbash/sha/NAin the yearהָאַחֶרֶת׃ha/a/CHE/retnext

    But my covenant will I establish with Isaac, which Sarah shall bear unto thee at this set time in the next year.

22. 22

    וַיְכַלvay/KHALand He left offלְדַבֵּרle/dab/BERspeakingאִתּוֹit/TOwith himוַיַּעַלvay/YA/aland went upאֱלֹהִיםe/lo/HIMGodמֵעַלme/ALup fromאַבְרָהָם׃Av/ra/HAMAbraham

    And he left off talking with him, and God went up from Abraham.

23. 23

    וַיִּקַּחvay/yik/KACHand tookאַבְרָהָםAv/ra/HAMAbrahamאֶת־יִשְׁמָעֵאלet-Yish/ma/ELIshmaelבְּנוֹbe/NOhis sonוְאֵתve/ETandכׇּל־יְלִידֵיkol-ye/li/DEall that were born inבֵיתוֹve/TOhis houseוְאֵתve/ETandכׇּל־מִקְנַתkol-mik/NATall that were bought withכַּסְפּוֹkas/POhis moneyכׇּל־זָכָרkol-za/KHARevery maleבְּאַנְשֵׁיbe/an/SHEamong the men ofבֵּיתbetthe house ofאַבְרָהָםAv/ra/HAMAbrahamוַיָּמׇלvay/YA/moland he circumcisedאֶת־בְּשַׂרet-be/SARthe flesh ofעׇרְלָתָםor/la/TAMtheir foreskinבְּעֶצֶםbe/E/tsemin the selfsameהַיּוֹםhay/YOMdayהַזֶּהhaz/ZEthisכַּאֲשֶׁרka/a/SHERasדִּבֶּרdib/BERhad saidאִתּוֹit/TOwith himאֱלֹהִים׃e/lo/HIMGod

    And Abraham took Ishmael his son, and all that were born in his house, and all that were bought with his money, every male among the men of Abraham's house; and circumcised the flesh of their foreskin in the selfsame day, as God had said unto him.

    וְאַבְרָהָםve/Av/ra/HAMand Abrahamבֶּן־תִּשְׁעִיםben-tish/IMa son of ninetyוָתֵשַׁעva/TE/shaand nineשָׁנָהsha/NAyearsבְּהִמֹּלוֹbe/him/mo/LOwhen he was circumcisedבְּשַׂרbe/SARthe flesh ofעׇרְלָתוֹ׃or/la/TOhis foreskin

    And Abraham was ninety years old and nine, when he was circumcised in the flesh of his foreskin.

25. 25

    וְיִשְׁמָעֵאלve/Yish/ma/ELand Ishmaelבְּנוֹbe/NOhis sonבֶּן־שְׁלֹשׁ־עֶשְׂרֵהben-she/LOSH-es/REson of thirteenשָׁנָהsha/NAyearsבְּהִמֹּלוֹbe/him/mo/LOwhen he was circumcisedאֵת־בְּשַׂרet-be/SARthe flesh ofעׇרְלָתוֹ׃or/la/TOhis foreskin

    And Ishmael his son was thirteen years old, when he was circumcised in the flesh of his foreskin.

26. 26

    בְּעֶצֶםbe/E/tsemin the selfsameהַיּוֹםhay/YOMdayהַזֶּהhaz/ZEthisנִמּוֹלnim/MOLwas circumcisedאַבְרָהָםAv/ra/HAMAbrahamוְיִשְׁמָעֵאלve/Yish/ma/ELand Ishmaelבְּנוֹ׃be/NOhis son

    In the selfsame day was Abraham circumcised, and Ishmael his son.

27. 27

    וְכׇל־אַנְשֵׁיve/KHOL-an/SHEand all the men ofבֵיתוֹve/TOhis householdיְלִידye/LIDborn inבָּיִתBA/yitthe houseוּמִקְנַת־כֶּסֶףu/mik/NAT-KE/sefor bought with moneyמֵאֵתme/ETofבֶּן־נֵכָרben-ne/KHARthe strangerנִמֹּלוּnim/MO/luwere circumcisedאִתּוֹ׃it/TOwith him

    And all the men of his house, born in the house, and bought with money of the stranger, were circumcised with him.
