   וְאַחַרve/a/CHARand afterwardבָּאוּBA/uwent inמֹשֶׁהMo/SHEMosesוְאַהֲרֹןve/A/ha/RONand Aaronוַיֹּאמְרוּvay/yo/me/RUand they saidאֶל־פַּרְעֹהel-Par/Oto Pharaohכֹּה־אָמַרko-a/MARthus saysיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDאֱלֹהֵיe/lo/HEthe God ofיִשְׂרָאֵלYis/ra/ELIsraelשַׁלַּחshal/LACHlet goאֶת־עַמִּיet-am/MImy peopleוְיָחֹגּוּve/ya/CHOG/guthat they may hold a feastלִיlito meבַּמִּדְבָּר׃bam/mid/BARin the wilderness

   And afterward Moses and Aaron went in, and told Pharaoh, Thus saith the LORD God of Israel, Let my people go, that they may hold a feast unto me in the wilderness.

   וַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand saidפַּרְעֹהPar/OPharaohמִיmiwho isיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthatאֶשְׁמַעesh/MAI should obeyבְּקֹלוֹbe/ko/LOHis voiceלְשַׁלַּחle/shal/LACHto let goאֶת־יִשְׂרָאֵלet-Yis/ra/ELIsraelלֹאlonotיָדַעְתִּיya/DA/tiI knowאֶת־יְהֹוָהet-Adonaithe LORDוְגַםve/GAMneitherאֶת־יִשְׂרָאֵלet-Yis/ra/ELIsraelלֹאlonotאֲשַׁלֵּחַ׃a/shal/LE/achwill I let go

   And Pharaoh said, Who is the LORD, that I should obey his voice to let Israel go? I know not the LORD, neither will I let Israel go.

   וַיֹּאמְרוּvay/yo/me/RUand saidאֱלֹהֵיe/lo/HEthe God ofהָעִבְרִיםha/Iv/RIMthe Hebrewsנִקְרָאnik/RAhas metעָלֵינוּa/LE/nuwith usנֵלְכָהnel/KHAlet us goנָּאnawe prayדֶּרֶךְDE/rekha journey ofשְׁלֹשֶׁתshe/LO/shetthreeיָמִיםya/MIMdaysבַּמִּדְבָּרbam/mid/BARin the wildernessוְנִזְבְּחָהve/niz/be/CHAand sacrificeלַיהֹוָהla-Adonaito the LORDאֱלֹהֵינוּe/lo/HE/nuour Godפֶּן־יִפְגָּעֵנוּpen-yif/ga/E/nulest He fall upon usבַּדֶּבֶרbad/DE/verwith the pestilenceאוֹoorבֶחָרֶב׃ve/CHA/revby the sword

   And they said, The God of the Hebrews hath met with us: let us go, we pray thee, three days' journey into the desert, and sacrifice unto the LORD our God; lest he fall upon us with pestilence, or with the sword.

   וַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand saidאֲלֵהֶםa/le/HEMto themמֶלֶךְME/lekhthe king ofמִצְרַיִםMits/RA/yimEgyptלָמָּהLAM/mawhyמֹשֶׁהMo/SHEMosesוְאַהֲרֹןve/A/ha/RONand Aaronתַּפְרִיעוּtaf/RI/udo you looseאֶת־הָעָםet-ha/AMthe peopleמִמַּעֲשָׂיוmim/ma/a/SAYVfrom their worksלְכוּle/KHUget youלְסִבְלֹתֵיכֶם׃le/siv/lo/te/KHEMto your burdens

   And the king of Egypt said unto them, Wherefore do ye, Moses and Aaron, let the people from their works? get you unto your burdens.

   וַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand saidפַּרְעֹהPar/OPharaohהֵן־רַבִּיםhen-rab/BIMbehold many areעַתָּהat/TAnowעַםamthe people ofהָאָרֶץha/A/retsthe landוְהִשְׁבַּתֶּםve/hish/bat/TEMand you make to restאֹתָםo/TAMthemמִסִּבְלֹתָם׃mis/siv/lo/TAMfrom their burdens

   And Pharaoh said, Behold, the people of the land now are many, and ye make them rest from their burdens.

   וַיְצַוvay/TSAVand commandedפַּרְעֹהPar/OPharaohבַּיּוֹםbay/YOMon the dayהַהוּאha/HUthatאֶת־הַנֹּגְשִׂיםet-han/nog/SIMthe taskmastersבָּעָםba/AMof the peopleוְאֶת־שֹׁטְרָיוve/ET-shot/RAYVand their officersלֵאמֹר׃le/MORsaying

   And Pharaoh commanded the same day the taskmasters of the people, and their officers, saying,

   לֹאlonotתֹאסִפוּןto/si/FUNshall you any moreלָתֵתla/TETto giveתֶּבֶןTE/venstrawלָעָםla/AMto the peopleלִלְבֹּןlil/BONto makeהַלְּבֵנִיםhal/le/ve/NIMbrickכִּתְמוֹלkit/MOLas yesterdayשִׁלְשֹׁםshil/SHOMand the day beforeהֵםhemlet themיֵלְכוּyel/KHUgoוְקֹשְׁשׁוּve/kosh/SHUand gatherלָהֶםla/HEMfor themselvesתֶּבֶן׃TE/venstraw

   Ye shall no more give the people straw to make brick, as heretofore: let them go and gather straw for themselves.

8. 8

   וְאֶת־מַתְכֹּנֶתve/ET-mat/KO/netand the quota ofהַלְּבֵנִיםhal/le/ve/NIMthe bricksאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhichהֵםhemtheyעֹשִׂיםo/SIMmadeתְּמוֹלte/MOLyesterdayשִׁלְשֹׁםshil/SHOMand the day beforeתָּשִׂימוּta/SI/muyou shall layעֲלֵיהֶםa/le/HEMupon themלֹאlonotתִגְרְעוּtig/re/Udiminishמִמֶּנּוּmim/MEN/nufrom itכִּי־נִרְפִּיםki-nir/PIMfor idleהֵםhemtheyעַל־כֵּןal-kenthereforeהֵםhemtheyצֹעֲקִיםtso/a/KIMcryלֵאמֹרle/MORsayingנֵלְכָהnel/KHAlet us goנִזְבְּחָהniz/be/CHAand sacrificeלֵאלֹהֵינוּ׃le/lo/HE/nuto our God

   And the tale of the bricks, which they did make heretofore, ye shall lay upon them; ye shall not diminish ought thereof: for they be idle; therefore they cry, saying, Let us go and sacrifice to our God.

   תִּכְבַּדtikh/BADlet be laid heavierהָעֲבֹדָהha/a/vo/DAthe workעַל־הָאֲנָשִׁיםal-ha/a/na/SHIMupon the menוְיַעֲשׂוּ־בָהּve/ya/a/SU-vathat they may labor in itוְאַל־יִשְׁעוּve/AL-yish/Uand let them not regardבְּדִבְרֵי־שָׁקֶר׃be/div/RE-SHA/kerlying words

   Let there more work be laid upon the men, that they may labour therein; and let them not regard vain words.

10. 10

    וַיֵּצְאוּvay/yets/Uand went outנֹגְשֵׂיnog/SEthe taskmasters ofהָעָםha/AMthe peopleוְשֹׁטְרָיוve/shot/RAYVand their officersוַיֹּאמְרוּvay/yo/me/RUand they saidאֶל־הָעָםel-ha/AMto the peopleלֵאמֹרle/MORsayingכֹּהkothusאָמַרa/MARsaysפַּרְעֹהPar/OPharaohאֵינֶנִּיe/NEN/niI will notנֹתֵןno/TENgiveלָכֶםla/KHEMyouתֶּבֶן׃TE/venstraw

    And the taskmasters of the people went out, and their officers, and they spake to the people, saying, Thus saith Pharaoh, I will not give you straw.

    אַתֶּםat/TEMyouלְכוּle/KHUgoקְחוּke/CHUtakeלָכֶםla/KHEMyouתֶּבֶןTE/venstrawמֵאֲשֶׁרme/a/SHERwhereתִּמְצָאוּtim/TSA/uyou can find itכִּיkiyetאֵיןennotנִגְרָעnig/RAshall be diminishedמֵעֲבֹדַתְכֶםme/a/vo/dat/KHEMfrom your workדָּבָר׃da/VARa thing

    Go ye, get you straw where ye can find it: yet not ought of your work shall be diminished.

    וַיָּפֶץvay/YA/fetsso were scattered abroadהָעָםha/AMthe peopleבְּכׇל־אֶרֶץbe/KHOL-E/retsthroughout all the land ofמִצְרָיִםMits/RA/yimEgyptלְקֹשֵׁשׁle/ko/SHESHto gatherקַשׁkashstubbleלַתֶּבֶן׃lat/TE/venfor straw

    So the people were scattered abroad throughout all the land of Egypt to gather stubble instead of straw.

13. 13

    וְהַנֹּגְשִׂיםve/han/nog/SIMand the taskmastersאָצִיםa/TSIMhastened themלֵאמֹרle/MORsayingכַּלּוּkal/LUfulfilמַעֲשֵׂיכֶםma/a/se/KHEMyour worksדְּבַר־יוֹםde/VAR-yomthe daily taskבְּיוֹמוֹbe/yo/MOin its dayכַּאֲשֶׁרka/a/SHERasבִּהְיוֹתbih/YOTwhen there wasהַתֶּבֶן׃hat/TE/venthe straw

    And the taskmasters hasted them, saying, Fulfil your works, your daily tasks, as when there was straw.

14. 14

    וַיֻּכּוּvay/yuk/KUand were beatenשֹׁטְרֵיshot/REthe officers ofבְּנֵיbe/NEthe children ofיִשְׂרָאֵלYis/ra/ELIsraelאֲשֶׁר־שָׂמוּa/SHER-SA/muwhom had setעֲלֵהֶםa/le/HEMover themנֹגְשֵׂיnog/SEthe taskmasters ofפַרְעֹהFar/OPharaohלֵאמֹרle/MORsayingמַדּוּעַmad/DU/awhyלֹאlonotכִלִּיתֶםkhil/li/TEMhave you fulfilledחׇקְכֶםchok/KHEMyour taskלִלְבֹּןlil/BONin making brickכִּתְמוֹלkit/MOLas heretoforeשִׁלְשֹׁםshil/SHOMand the day beforeגַּם־תְּמוֹלgam-te/MOLboth yesterdayגַּם־הַיּוֹם׃gam-hay/YOMand today

    And the officers of the children of Israel, which Pharaoh's taskmasters had set over them, were beaten, and demanded, Wherefore have ye not fulfilled your task in making brick both yesterday and to day, as heretofore?

15. 15

    וַיָּבֹאוּvay/ya/VO/uand they cameשֹׁטְרֵיshot/REthe officers ofבְּנֵיbe/NEthe children ofיִשְׂרָאֵלYis/ra/ELIsraelוַיִּצְעֲקוּvay/yits/a/KUand criedאֶל־פַּרְעֹהel-Par/Oto Pharaohלֵאמֹרle/MORsayingלָמָּהLAM/mawhyתַעֲשֶׂהta/a/SEdo you dealכֹהkhothusלַעֲבָדֶיךָ׃la/a/va/DE/khawith your servants

    Then the officers of the children of Israel came and cried unto Pharaoh, saying, Wherefore dealest thou thus with thy servants?

16. 16

    תֶּבֶןTE/venstrawאֵיןenthere is noנִתָּןnit/TANgivenלַעֲבָדֶיךָla/a/va/DE/khato your servantsוּלְבֵנִיםu/le/ve/NIMand bricksאֹמְרִיםom/RIMthey sayלָנוּLA/nuto usעֲשׂוּa/SUmakeוְהִנֵּהve/hin/NEand beholdעֲבָדֶיךָa/va/DE/khayour servantsמֻכִּיםmuk/KIMare beatenוְחָטָאתve/cha/TATbut the fault is inעַמֶּךָ׃am/ME/khayour people

    There is no straw given unto thy servants, and they say to us, Make brick: and, behold, thy servants are beaten; but the fault is in thine own people.

17. 17

    וַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand saidנִרְפִּיםnir/PIMidleאַתֶּםat/TEMyou areנִרְפִּיםnir/PIMidleעַל־כֵּןal-kenthereforeאַתֶּםat/TEMyou areאֹמְרִיםom/RIMsayנֵלְכָהnel/KHAlet us goנִזְבְּחָהniz/be/CHAand sacrificeלַיהֹוָה׃la-Adonaito the LORD

    But he said, Ye are idle, ye are idle: therefore ye say, Let us go and do sacrifice to the LORD.

18. 18

    וְעַתָּהve/at/TAand nowלְכוּle/KHUgoעִבְדוּiv/DUworkוְתֶבֶןve/TE/venand strawלֹא־יִנָּתֵןlo-yin/na/TENshall not be givenלָכֶםla/KHEMto youוְתֹכֶןve/TO/khenyet the quota ofלְבֵנִיםle/ve/NIMbricksתִּתֵּנוּ׃tit/TE/nushall you deliver

    Go therefore now, and work; for there shall no straw be given you, yet shall ye deliver the tale of bricks.

19. 19

    וַיִּרְאוּvay/yir/Uand sawשֹׁטְרֵיshot/REthe officers ofבְנֵי־יִשְׂרָאֵלve/NE-yis/ra/ELthe children of Israelאֹתָםo/TAMthemבְּרָעbe/RAin evil caseלֵאמֹרle/MORsayingלֹא־תִגְרְעוּlo-tig/re/Uyou shall not diminishמִלִּבְנֵיכֶםmil/liv/ne/KHEMfrom your bricksדְּבַר־יוֹםde/VAR-yomthe daily taskבְּיוֹמוֹ׃be/yo/MOin its day

    And the officers of the children of Israel did see that they were in evil case, after it was said, Ye shall not minish ought from your bricks of your daily task.

20. 20

    וַיִּפְגְּעוּvay/yif/ge/Uand they metאֶת־מֹשֶׁהet-Mo/SHEMosesוְאֶת־אַהֲרֹןve/ET-a/ha/RONand Aaronנִצָּבִיםnits/tsa/VIMwho stoodלִקְרָאתָםlik/ra/TAMto meet themבְּצֵאתָםbe/tse/TAMas they came forthמֵאֵתme/ETfromפַּרְעֹה׃Par/OPharaoh

    And they met Moses and Aaron, who stood in the way, as they came forth from Pharaoh:

21. 21

    וַיֹּאמְרוּvay/yo/me/RUand they saidאֲלֵהֶםa/le/HEMto themיֵרֶאYE/relook uponיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDעֲלֵיכֶםa/le/KHEMyouוְיִשְׁפֹּטve/yish/POTand judgeאֲשֶׁרa/SHERbecauseהִבְאַשְׁתֶּםhiv/ash/TEMyou have made to stinkאֶת־רֵיחֵנוּet-re/CHE/nuour savorבְּעֵינֵיbe/e/NEin the eyes ofפַרְעֹהFar/OPharaohוּבְעֵינֵיu/ve/e/NEand in the eyes ofעֲבָדָיוa/va/DAYVhis servantsלָתֶת־חֶרֶבLA/tet-CHE/revto put a swordבְּיָדָםbe/ya/DAMinto their handsלְהׇרְגֵנוּ׃le/hor/ge/NUto kill us

    And they said unto them, The LORD look upon you, and judge; because ye have made our savour to be abhorred in the eyes of Pharaoh, and in the eyes of his servants, to put a sword in their hand to slay us.

22. 22

    וַיָּשׇׁבvay/YA/shovand returnedמֹשֶׁהMo/SHEMosesאֶל־יְהֹוָהel-Adonaito the LORDוַיֹּאמַרvay/yo/MARand saidאֲדֹנָיa/do/NAYO Lordלָמָהla/MAwhereforeהֲרֵעֹתָהha/re/O/tahave You dealt illלָעָםla/AMwith the peopleהַזֶּהhaz/ZEthisלָמָּהLAM/mawhyזֶּהzeis it thatשְׁלַחְתָּנִי׃she/lach/TA/niYou have sent me

    And Moses returned unto the LORD, and said, Lord, wherefore hast thou so evil entreated this people? why is it that thou hast sent me?

23. 23

    וּמֵאָזu/me/AZfor sinceבָּאתִיBA/tiI cameאֶל־פַּרְעֹהel-Par/Oto Pharaohלְדַבֵּרle/dab/BERto speakבִּשְׁמֶךָbish/ME/khain Your nameהֵרַעhe/RAhe has done evilלָעָםla/AMto the peopleהַזֶּהhaz/ZEthisוְהַצֵּלve/hats/TSELand deliverלֹא־הִצַּלְתָּlo-hits/TSAL/taYou have not deliveredאֶת־עַמֶּךָ׃et-am/ME/khaYour people

    For since I came to Pharaoh to speak in thy name, he hath done evil to this people; neither hast thou delivered thy people at all.
