1. 1

   וַיְדַבֵּרvay/dab/BERand spokeאֱלֹהִיםe/lo/HIMGodאֵת־כׇּל־הַדְּבָרִיםet-kol-had/de/va/RIMall the wordsהָאֵלֶּהha/EL/letheseלֵאמֹר׃le/MORsaying

   And God spake all these words, saying,

   אָנֹכִיa/no/KHII amיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDאֱלֹהֶיךָe/lo/HE/khayour Godאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhoהוֹצֵאתִיךָho/tse/TI/khahave brought you outמֵאֶרֶץme/E/retsout of the land ofמִצְרַיִםMits/RA/yimEgyptמִבֵּיתmib/BETout of the house ofעֲבָדִ͏ים׃a/va/DIMbondage

   I am the LORD thy God, which have brought thee out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage.

   לֹא־יִהְיֶ͏ה־לְךָlo-yih/YE-le/KHAyou shall have noאֱלֹהִים־אֲחֵרִיםe/lo/HIM-a/che/RIMother godsעַל־פָּנָ͏ַי׃al-pa/NAYbefore me

   Thou shalt have no other gods before me.

   לֹא־תַעֲשֶׂה־לְךָlo-ta/a/SE-le/KHAyou shall not make for yourselfפֶסֶלFE/sela graven imageוְכׇל־תְּמוּנָהve/KHOL-te/mu/NAor any likenessאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthat isבַּשָּׁמַיִםbash/sha/MA/yimin heavenמִמַּעַלmim/MA/alaboveוַאֲשֶׁרva/a/SHERor thatבָּאָרֶץba/A/retsin the earthמִתָּ͏ַחַתmit/TA/chatbeneathוַאֲשֶׁרva/a/SHERor thatבַּמַּיִםbam/MA/yimin the waterמִתַּחַתmit/TA/chatunderלָאָרֶץ׃la/A/retsthe earth

   Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth:

   לֹא־תִשְׁתַּחֲוֶהlo-tish/ta/cha/VEyou shall not bow downלָהֶםla/HEMto themוְלֹאve/LOnorתׇעׇבְדֵםto/ov/DEMserve themכִּיkiforאָנֹכִיa/no/KHII amיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDאֱלֹהֶיךָe/lo/HE/khayour Godאֵלela Godקַנָּאkan/NAjealousפֹּקֵדpo/KEDvisitingעֲוֺןa/VONthe iniquity ofאָבֹתa/VOTthe fathersעַל־בָּנִיםal-ba/NIMupon the childrenעַל־שִׁלֵּשִׁיםal-shil/le/SHIMupon the third generationוְעַל־רִבֵּעִיםve/AL-rib/be/IMand upon the fourthלְשֹׂנְאָי׃le/son/AYof them that hate me

   Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the LORD thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me;

   וְעֹשֶׂהve/O/seand showingחֶסֶדCHE/sedmercyלַאֲלָפִיםla/a/la/FIMto thousandsלְאֹהֲבַיle/o/ha/VAYof them that love meוּלְשֹׁמְרֵיu/le/shom/REand keepמִצְוֺתָי׃mits/vo/TAYmy commandments

   And shewing mercy unto thousands of them that love me, and keep my commandments.

   לֹאlonotתִשָּׂאtis/SAyou shall takeאֶת־שֵׁם־יְהֹוָהet-shem-Adonaithe name of the LORDאֱלֹהֶיךָe/lo/HE/khayour Godלַשָּׁוְאlash/SHAVin vainכִּיkiforלֹאlonotיְנַקֶּהye/nak/KEwill hold guiltlessיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDאֵת־אֲשֶׁר־יִשָּׂאet-a/SHER-yis/SAhim who takesאֶת־שְׁמוֹet-she/MOHis nameלַשָּׁוְא׃lash/SHAVin vain

   Thou shalt not take the name of the LORD thy God in vain; for the LORD will not hold him guiltless that taketh his name in vain.

   זָכוֹרza/KHORrememberאֶת־יוֹםet-yomthe day ofהַשַּׁבָּתhash/shab/BATthe sabbathלְקַדְּשׁוֹ׃le/kad/de/SHOto keep it holy

   Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy.

9. 9

   שֵׁשֶׁתSHE/shetsixיָמִיםya/MIMdaysתַּעֲבֹדta/a/VODshall you laborוְעָשִׂיתָve/a/SI/taand doכׇּֿל־מְלַאכְתֶּךָ׃kol-me/lakh/TE/khaall your work

   Six days shalt thou labour, and do all thy work:

    וְיוֹםve/YOMbut the dayהַשְּׁבִיעִיhash/she/vi/Ithe seventhשַׁבָּתshab/BATis the sabbathלַיהֹוָהla-Adonaiof the LORDאֱלֹהֶיךָe/lo/HE/khayour Godלֹא־תַעֲשֶׂהlo-ta/a/SEyou shall not doכׇל־מְלָאכָהkhol-me/la/KHAany workאַתָּהat/TAyouוּבִנְךָ͏־וּבִתֶּךָu/vin/KHA-u/vit/TE/khanor your son nor your daughterעַבְדְּךָav/de/KHAnor your manservantוַאֲמָתְךָva/a/ma/te/KHAnor your maidservantוּבְהֶמְתֶּךָu/ve/hem/TE/khanor your livestockוְגֵרְךָve/ger/KHAnor your strangerאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthat isבִּשְׁעָרֶיךָ׃bish/a/RE/khawithin your gates

    But the seventh day is the sabbath of the LORD thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates:

    כִּיkiforשֵׁשֶׁת־יָמִיםSHE/shet-ya/MIMsix daysעָשָׂהa/SAmadeיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDאֶת־הַשָּׁמַיִםet-hash/sha/MA/yimthe heavensוְאֶת־הָאָרֶץve/ET-ha/A/retsand the earthאֶת־הַיָּםet-hay/YAMthe seaוְאֶת־כׇּל־אֲשֶׁר־בָּםve/ET-kol-a/SHER-bamand all that is in themוַיָּנַחvay/YA/nachand restedבַּיּוֹםbay/YOMon the dayהַשְּׁבִיעִיhash/she/vi/Ithe seventhעַל־כֵּןal-kenthereforeבֵּרַךְbe/RAKHblessedיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDאֶת־יוֹםet-yomthe day ofהַשַּׁבָּתhash/shab/BATthe sabbathוַיְקַדְּשֵׁהוּ׃vay/kad/de/SHE/huand sanctified it

    For in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the LORD blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it.

    כַּבֵּדkab/BEDhonorאֶת־אָבִיךָet-a/VI/khayour fatherוְאֶת־אִמֶּךָve/ET-im/ME/khaand your motherלְמַעַןle/MA/anthatיַאֲרִכוּןya/a/ri/KHUNmay be longיָמֶיךָya/ME/khayour daysעַלaluponהָאֲדָמָהha/a/da/MAthe landאֲשֶׁר־יְהֹוָהa/SHER-Adonaiwhich the LORDאֱלֹהֶיךָe/lo/HE/khayour Godנֹתֵןno/TENgivesלָךְ׃lakhto you

    Honour thy father and thy mother: that thy days may be long upon the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee.

13. 13

    לֹאlonotתִּֿרְצָ͏ח׃tir/TSACHyou shall murderלֹאlonotתִּֿנְאָ͏ף׃tin/AFyou shall commit adulteryלֹאlonotתִּֿגְנֹב׃tig/NOVyou shall stealלֹא־תַעֲנֶהlo-ta/a/NEyou shall not bearבְרֵעֲךָve/re/a/KHAagainst your neighborעֵדedwitnessשָׁקֶר׃SHA/kerfalse

    Thou shalt not kill. Thou shalt not commit adultery. Thou shalt not steal. Thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbour.

14. 14

    לֹאlonotתַחְמֹדtach/MODyou shall covetבֵּיתbetthe house ofרֵעֶךָre/E/khayour neighborלֹא־תַחְמֹדlo-tach/MODyou shall not covetאֵשֶׁתE/shetthe wife ofרֵעֶךָre/E/khayour neighborוְעַבְדּוֹve/av/DOnor his manservantוַאֲמָתוֹva/a/ma/TOnor his maidservantוְשׁוֹרוֹve/sho/ROnor his oxוַחֲמֹרוֹva/cha/mo/ROnor his donkeyוְכֹלve/KHOLnor anythingאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthatלְרֵעֶךָ׃le/re/E/khais your neighbor's

    Thou shalt not covet thy neighbour's house, thou shalt not covet thy neighbour's wife, nor his manservant, nor his maidservant, nor his ox, nor his ass, nor any thing that is thy neighbour's.

15. 15

    וְכׇל־הָעָםve/KHOL-ha/AMand all the peopleרֹאִיםro/IMsawאֶת־הַקּוֹלֹתet-hak/ko/LOTthe thunderingsוְאֶת־הַלַּפִּידִםve/ET-hal/lap/pi/DIMand the lightningsוְאֵתve/ETandקוֹלkolthe sound ofהַשֹּׁפָרhash/sho/FARthe ram's hornוְאֶת־הָהָרve/ET-ha/HARand the mountainעָשֵׁןa/SHENsmokingוַיַּרְאvay/YARand when sawהָעָםha/AMthe peopleוַיָּנֻעוּvay/ya/NU/uthey trembledוַיַּעַמְדוּvay/ya/am/DUand stoodמֵרָחֹק׃me/ra/CHOKafar off

    And all the people saw the thunderings, and the lightnings, and the noise of the trumpet, and the mountain smoking: and when the people saw it, they removed, and stood afar off.

16. 16

    וַיֹּאמְרוּvay/yo/me/RUand they saidאֶל־מֹשֶׁהel-Mo/SHEto Mosesדַּבֵּר־אַתָּהdab/BER-at/TAyou speakעִמָּנוּim/MA/nuwith usוְנִשְׁמָעָהve/nish/MA/aand we will hearוְאַל־יְדַבֵּרve/AL-ye/dab/BERbut let not speakעִמָּנוּim/MA/nuwith usאֱלֹהִיםe/lo/HIMGodפֶּן־נָמוּת׃pen-na/MUTlest we die

    And they said unto Moses, Speak thou with us, and we will hear: but let not God speak with us, lest we die.

17. 17

    וַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand saidמֹשֶׁהMo/SHEMosesאֶל־הָעָםel-ha/AMto the peopleאַל־תִּירָאוּal-ti/RA/ufear notכִּיkiforלְבַעֲבוּרle/va/a/VURtoנַסּוֹתnas/SOTproveאֶתְכֶםet/KHEMyouבָּאbais comeהָאֱלֹהִיםha/e/lo/HIMGodוּבַעֲבוּרu/va/a/VURand thatתִּהְיֶהtih/YEmay beיִרְאָתוֹyir/a/TOHis fearעַל־פְּנֵיכֶםal-pe/ne/KHEMbefore your facesלְבִלְתִּיle/vil/TIthat notתֶחֱטָאוּ׃te/che/TA/uyou sin

    And Moses said unto the people, Fear not: for God is come to prove you, and that his fear may be before your faces, that ye sin not.

18. 18

    וַיַּעֲמֹדvay/ya/a/MODand stoodהָעָםha/AMthe peopleמֵרָחֹקme/ra/CHOKafar offוּמֹשֶׁהu/Mo/SHEand Mosesנִגַּשׁnig/GASHdrew nearאֶל־הָעֲרָפֶלel-ha/a/ra/FELto the thick darknessאֲשֶׁר־שָׁםa/SHER-shamwhereהָאֱלֹהִים׃ha/e/lo/HIMGod was

    And the people stood afar off, and Moses drew near unto the thick darkness where God was.

19. 19

    וַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand saidיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDאֶל־מֹשֶׁהel-Mo/SHEto Mosesכֹּהkothusתֹאמַרto/MARshall you sayאֶל־בְּנֵיel-be/NEto the children ofיִשְׂרָאֵלYis/ra/ELIsraelאַתֶּםat/TEMyouרְאִיתֶםre/i/TEMhave seenכִּיkithatמִן־הַשָּׁמַיִםmin-hash/sha/MA/yimfrom heavenדִּבַּרְתִּיdib/BAR/tiI have talkedעִמָּכֶם׃im/ma/KHEMwith you

    And the LORD said unto Moses, Thus thou shalt say unto the children of Israel, Ye have seen that I have talked with you from heaven.

20. 20

    לֹאlonotתַעשׂוּןta/SUNshall you makeאִתִּיit/TIwith meאֱלֹהֵיe/lo/HEgods ofכֶסֶףKHE/sefsilverוֵאלֹהֵיve/lo/HEand gods ofזָהָבza/HAVgoldלֹאlonotתַעֲשׂוּta/a/SUshall you makeלָכֶם׃la/KHEMfor yourselves

    Ye shall not make with me gods of silver, neither shall ye make unto you gods of gold.

21. 21

    מִזְבַּחmiz/BACHan altar ofאֲדָמָהa/da/MAearthתַּעֲשֶׂה־לִּיta/a/SE-liyou shall make for meוְזָבַחְתָּve/za/vach/TAand shall sacrificeעָלָיוa/LAYVon itאֶת־עֹלֹתֶיךָet-o/lo/TE/khayour burnt offeringsוְאֶת־שְׁלָמֶיךָve/ET-she/la/ME/khaand your peace offeringsאֶת־צֹאנְךָet-tso/ne/KHAyour sheepוְאֶת־בְּקָרֶךָve/ET-be/ka/RE/khaand your oxenבְּכׇל־הַמָּקוֹםbe/KHOL-ham/ma/KOMin every placeאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhereאַזְכִּירaz/KIRI cause to be rememberedאֶת־שְׁמִיet-she/MImy nameאָבוֹאa/VOI will comeאֵלֶיךָe/LE/khato youוּבֵרַכְתִּיךָ׃u/ve/rakh/TI/khaand I will bless you

    An altar of earth thou shalt make unto me, and shalt sacrifice thereon thy burnt offerings, and thy peace offerings, thy sheep, and thine oxen: in all places where I record my name I will come unto thee, and I will bless thee.

22. 22

    וְאִם־מִזְבַּחve/IM-miz/BACHand if an altar ofאֲבָנִיםa/va/NIMstonesתַּעֲשֶׂה־לִּיta/a/SE-liyou will make meלֹא־תִבְנֶהlo-tiv/NEyou shall not buildאֶתְהֶןet/HENitגָּזִיתga/ZITof hewn stoneכִּיkiforחַרְבְּךָchar/be/KHAyour toolהֵנַפְתָּhe/NAF/tayou lift upעָלֶיהָa/LE/haupon itוַתְּחַלְלֶהָ׃vat/te/chal/LE/haand you have profaned it

    And if thou wilt make me an altar of stone, thou shalt not build it of hewn stone: for if thou lift up thy tool upon it, thou hast polluted it.

23. 23

    וְלֹא־תַעֲלֶהve/LO-ta/a/LEneither shall you go upבְמַעֲלֹתve/ma/a/LOTby stepsעַל־מִזְבְּחִיal-miz/be/CHIto my altarאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthatלֹא־תִגָּלֶהlo-tig/ga/LEbe not uncoveredעֶרְוָתְךָer/va/te/KHAyour nakednessעָלָיו׃a/LAYVon it

    Neither shalt thou go up by steps unto mine altar, that thy nakedness be not discovered thereon.
