   And in the seventh year Jehoiada strengthened himself, and took the captains of hundreds, Azariah the son of Jeroham, and Ishmael the son of Jehohanan, and Azariah the son of Obed, and Maaseiah the son of Adaiah, and Elishaphat the son of Zichri, into covenant with him.

   וַיָּסֹבּוּvay/ya/SOB/buand they went aboutבִּיהוּדָהbI/hu/DAin Judahוַיִּקְבְּצוּvay/yik/be/TSUand gatheredאֶת־הַלְוִיִּםet-Hal/viy/YIMthe Levitesמִכׇּל־עָרֵיmik/KOL-a/REfrom all the cities ofיְהוּדָהYe/hu/DAJudahוְרָאשֵׁיve/ra/SHEand the heads ofהָאָבוֹתha/a/VOTthe fathersלְיִשְׂרָאֵלle/Yis/ra/ELof Israelוַיָּבֹאוּvay/ya/VO/uand they cameאֶל־יְרוּשָׁלָ͏ִם׃el-Ye/ru/sha/LA/yimto Jerusalem

   And they went about in Judah, and gathered the Levites out of all the cities of Judah, and the chief of the fathers of Israel, and they came to Jerusalem.

   וַיִּכְרֹתvay/yikh/ROTand madeכׇּל־הַקָּהָלkol-hak/ka/HALall the assemblyבְּרִיתbe/RITa covenantבְּבֵיתbe/VETin the house ofהָאֱלֹהִיםha/e/lo/HIMGodעִם־הַמֶּלֶךְim-ham/ME/lekhwith the kingוַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand saidלָהֶםla/HEMwith themהִנֵּהhin/NEbeholdבֶן־הַמֶּלֶךְven-ham/ME/lekhthe son of the kingיִמְלֹךְyim/LOKHshall reignכַּאֲשֶׁרka/a/SHERasדִּבֶּרdib/BERhas spokenיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDעַל־בְּנֵיal-be/NEconcerning the sons ofדָוִיד׃Da/VIDDavid

   And all the congregation made a covenant with the king in the house of God. And he said unto them, Behold, the king's son shall reign, as the LORD hath said of the sons of David.

   זֶהzethis isהַדָּבָרhad/da/VARthe thingאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthat wereתַּעֲשׂוּta/a/SUyou shall doהַשְּׁלִשִׁיתhash/she/li/SHITa thirdמִכֶּםmik/KEMof youבָּאֵיba/Ewho come in onהַשַּׁבָּתhash/shab/BATthe sabbathלַכֹּהֲנִיםlak/ko/ha/NIMof the priestsוְלַלְוִיִּםve/Lal/viy/YIMand of the Levitesלְשֹׁעֲרֵיle/sho/a/REshall be keepers ofהַסִּפִּים׃has/sip/PIMthe thresholds

   This is the thing that ye shall do; A third part of you entering on the sabbath, of the priests and of the Levites, shall be porters of the doors;

   וְהַשְּׁלִשִׁיתve/hash/she/li/SHITand a thirdבְּבֵיתbe/VETin the house ofהַמֶּלֶךְham/ME/lekhthe kingוְהַשְּׁלִשִׁיתve/hash/she/li/SHITand a thirdבְּשַׁעַרbe/SHA/arat the gate ofהַיְסוֹדhay/SODthe foundationוְכׇל־הָעָםve/KHOL-ha/AMand all the peopleבְּחַצְרוֹתbe/chats/ROTin the courts ofבֵּיתbetthe house ofיְהֹוָה׃Adonaithe LORD

   And a third part shall be at the king's house; and a third part at the gate of the foundation: and all the people shall be in the courts of the house of the LORD.

6. 6

   וְאַל־יָבוֹאve/AL-ya/VOand let no one come intoבֵית־יְהֹוָהvet-Adonaithe house of the LORDכִּיkibutאִם־הַכֹּהֲנִיםim-hak/ko/ha/NIMonly the priestsוְהַמְשָׁרְתִיםve/ham/sha/re/TIMand those who ministerלַלְוִיִּםLal/viy/YIMof the LevitesהֵמָּהHEM/matheyיָבֹאוּya/VO/umay come inכִּי־קֹדֶשׁki-KO/deshfor holyהֵמָּהHEM/maare theyוְכׇל־הָעָםve/KHOL-ha/AMand all the peopleיִשְׁמְרוּyish/me/RUshall keepמִשְׁמֶרֶתmish/ME/retthe watch ofיְהֹוָה׃Adonaithe LORD

   But let none come into the house of the LORD, save the priests, and they that minister of the Levites; they shall go in, for they are holy: but all the people shall keep the watch of the LORD.

   וְהִקִּיפוּve/hik/KI/fuand shall surroundהַלְוִיִּםHal/viy/YIMthe Levitesאֶת־הַמֶּלֶךְet-ham/ME/lekhthe kingסָבִיבsa/VIVround aboutאִישׁisheachוְכֵלָיוve/khe/LAYVwith his weaponsבְּיָדוֹbe/ya/DOin his handוְהַבָּאve/hab/BAand whoever comesאֶל־הַבַּיִתel-hab/BA/yitto the houseיוּמָתyu/MATlet him be put to deathוִהְיוּvih/YUand beאֶת־הַמֶּלֶךְet-Ham/ME/lekhthe Kingבְּבֹאוֹbe/vo/Owhen he comes inוּבְצֵאתוֹ׃u/ve/tse/TOand when he goes out

   And the Levites shall compass the king round about, every man with his weapons in his hand; and whosoever else cometh into the house, he shall be put to death: but be ye with the king when he cometh in, and when he goeth out.

   וַיַּעֲשׂוּvay/ya/a/SUand they didהַלְוִיִּםHal/viy/YIMthe Levitesוְכׇל־יְהוּדָהve/KHOL-ye/hu/DAand all Judahכְּכֹלke/KHOLaccording to allאֲשֶׁר־צִוָּהa/SHER-tsiv/VAthat had commandedיְהוֹיָדָעYe/ho/ya/DAJehoiadaהַכֹּהֵןhak/ko/HENthe priestוַיִּקְחוּvay/yik/CHUand they tookאִישׁisheachאֶת־אֲנָשָׁיוet-a/na/SHAYVhis menבָּאֵיba/Ewho come in onהַשַּׁבָּתhash/shab/BATthe sabbathעִםimwithיוֹצְאֵיyots/Ewho were going out onהַשַּׁבָּתhash/shab/BATthe sabbathכִּיkiforלֹאlonotפָטַרfa/TARdid dismissיְהוֹיָדָעYe/ho/ya/DAJehoiadaהַכֹּהֵןhak/ko/HENthe priestאֶת־הַמַּחְלְקוֹת׃et-ham/mach/le/KOTthe courses

   So the Levites and all Judah did according to all things that Jehoiada the priest had commanded, and took every man his men that were to come in on the sabbath, with them that were to go out on the sabbath: for Jehoiada the priest dismissed not the courses.

   וַיִּתֵּןvay/yit/TENand gaveיְהוֹיָדָעYe/ho/ya/DAJehoiadaהַכֹּהֵןhak/ko/HENthe priestלְשָׂרֵיle/sa/REto the commanders ofהַמֵּאוֹתham/me/OThundredsאֶת־הַחֲנִיתִיםet-ha/cha/ni/TIMthe spearsוְאֶת־הַמָּגִנּוֹתve/ET-ham/ma/gin/NOTand the bucklersוְאֶת־הַשְּׁלָטִיםve/ET-hash/she/la/TIMand the shieldsאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthat had beenלַמֶּלֶךְlam/ME/lekhof KingדָּוִידDa/VIDDavidאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthat wereבֵּיתbetin the house ofהָאֱלֹהִים׃ha/e/lo/HIMGod

   Moreover Jehoiada the priest delivered to the captains of hundreds spears, and bucklers, and shields, that had been king David's, which were in the house of God.

10. 10

    וַיַּעֲמֵדvay/ya/a/MEDand he stationedאֶת־כׇּל־הָעָםet-kol-ha/AMall the peopleוְאִישׁve/ISHeach manשִׁלְחוֹshil/CHOhis weaponבְיָדוֹve/ya/DOin his handמִכֶּתֶףmik/KE/teffrom the side ofהַבַּיִתhab/BA/yitthe houseהַיְמָנִיתhay/ma/NITrightעַד־כֶּתֶףad-KE/tefto the side ofהַבַּיִתhab/BA/yitthe houseהַשְּׂמָאלִיתhas/se/ma/LITleftלַמִּזְבֵּחַlam/miz/BE/achby the altarוְלַבָּיִתve/lab/BA/yitand by the houseעַל־הַמֶּלֶךְal-ham/ME/lekhby the kingסָבִיב׃sa/VIVround about

    And he set all the people, every man having his weapon in his hand, from the right side of the temple to the left side of the temple, along by the altar and the temple, by the king round about.

    וַיּוֹצִיאוּvay/yo/TSI/uand they brought outאֶת־בֶּן־הַמֶּלֶךְet-ben-ham/ME/lekhthe son of the kingוַיִּתְּנוּvay/yit/te/NUand putעָלָיוa/LAYVon himאֶת־הַנֵּזֶרet-han/NE/zerthe crownוְאֶת־הָעֵדוּתve/ET-ha/e/DUTand the testimonyוַיַּמְלִיכוּvay/yam/LI/khuand they made kingאֹתוֹo/TOhimוַיִּמְשָׁחֻהוּvay/yim/sha/CHU/huand they anointed himיְהוֹיָדָעYe/ho/ya/DAJehoiadaוּבָנָיוu/va/NAYVand his sonsוַיֹּאמְרוּvay/yo/me/RUand they saidיְחִיye/CHIlong liveהַמֶּלֶךְ׃ham/ME/lekhthe king

    Then they brought out the king's son, and put upon him the crown, and gave him the testimony, and made him king. And Jehoiada and his sons anointed him, and said, God save the king.

    וַתִּשְׁמַעvat/tish/MAand she heardעֲתַלְיָהוּA/tal/YA/huAthaliahאֶת־קוֹלet-kolthe noise ofהָעָםha/AMthe peopleהָרָצִיםha/ra/TSIMrunningוְהַמְהַלְלִיםve/ham/hal/LIMand praisingאֶת־הַמֶּלֶךְet-ham/ME/lekhthe kingוַתָּבוֹאvat/ta/VOand she cameאֶל־הָעָםel-ha/AMto the peopleבֵּיתbetinto the house ofיְהֹוָה׃Adonaithe LORD

    Now when Athaliah heard the noise of the people running and praising the king, she came to the people into the house of the LORD:

13. 13

    וַתֵּרֶאvat/TE/reand she lookedוְהִנֵּהve/hin/NEand beholdהַמֶּלֶךְham/ME/lekhthe kingעוֹמֵדo/MEDstoodעַל־עַמּוּדוֹal-am/mu/DOby his pillarבַּמָּבוֹאbam/ma/VOat the entranceוְהַשָּׂרִיםve/has/sa/RIMand the commandersוְהַחֲצֹצְרוֹתve/ha/cha/tsots/ROTand the trumpetsעַל־הַמֶּלֶךְal-ham/ME/lekhby the kingוְכׇל־עַםve/KHOL-amand all the people ofהָאָרֶץha/A/retsthe landשָׂמֵחַsa/ME/achwere rejoicingוְתוֹקֵעַve/to/KE/aand blowingבַּחֲצֹצְרוֹתba/cha/tsots/ROTwith trumpetsוְהַמְשׁוֹרְרִיםve/ham/shor/RIMand the singersבִּכְלֵיbikh/LEwith instruments ofהַשִּׁירhash/SHIRmusicוּמוֹדִיעִיםu/mo/di/IMand leadingלְהַלֵּלle/hal/LELin praiseוַתִּקְרַעvat/tik/RAand she toreעֲתַלְיָהוּA/tal/YA/huAthaliahאֶת־בְּגָדֶיהָet-be/ga/DE/haher clothesוַתֹּאמֶרvat/TO/merand saidקֶשֶׁרKE/sherconspiracyקָשֶׁר׃KA/sherconspiracy

    And she looked, and, behold, the king stood at his pillar at the entering in, and the princes and the trumpets by the king: and all the people of the land rejoiced, and sounded with trumpets, also the singers with instruments of musick, and such as taught to sing praise. Then Athaliah rent her clothes, and said, Treason, Treason.

    וַיּוֹצֵאvay/yo/TSEthen brought outיְהוֹיָדָעYe/ho/ya/DAJehoiadaהַכֹּהֵןhak/ko/HENthe priestאֶת־שָׂרֵיet-sa/REthe commanders ofהַמֵּאוֹתham/me/OThundredsפְּקוּדֵיpe/ku/DEwho were set overהַחַיִלha/CHA/yilthe armyוַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand saidאֲלֵהֶםa/le/HEMto themהוֹצִיאוּהָho/tsi/U/hatake her outאֶל־מִבֵּיתel-mib/BETout betweenהַשְּׂדֵרוֹתhas/se/de/ROTthe ranksוְהַבָּאve/hab/BAand whoever comesאַחֲרֶיהָa/cha/RE/haafter herיוּמַתyu/MATlet him be put to deathבֶּחָרֶבbe/CHA/revby the swordכִּיkiforאָמַרa/MARhad saidהַכֹּהֵןhak/ko/HENthe priestלֹאlonotתְמִיתוּהָte/mi/TU/haput her to deathבֵּיתbetin the house ofיְהֹוָה׃Adonaithe LORD

    Then Jehoiada the priest brought out the captains of hundreds that were set over the host, and said unto them, Have her forth of the ranges: and whoso followeth her, let him be slain with the sword. For the priest said, Slay her not in the house of the LORD.

15. 15

    וַיָּשִׂימוּvay/ya/SI/muand they putלָהּlaon herיָדַיִםya/DA/yimhandsוַתָּבוֹאvat/ta/VOand she cameאֶל־מְבוֹאel-me/VOto the entrance ofשַׁעַר־הַסּוּסִיםSHA/ar-has/su/SIMthe horse gate ofבֵּיתbetthe house ofהַמֶּלֶךְham/ME/lekhthe kingוַיְמִיתוּהָvay/mi/TU/haand they put her to deathשָׁם׃shamthere

    So they laid hands on her; and when she was come to the entering of the horse gate by the king's house, they slew her there.

16. 16

    וַיִּכְרֹתvay/yikh/ROTand madeיְהוֹיָדָעYe/ho/ya/DAJehoiadaבְּרִיתbe/RITa covenantבֵּינוֹbe/NObetween himselfוּבֵיןu/VENand betweenכׇּל־הָעָםkol-ha/AMall the peopleוּבֵיןu/VENand betweenהַמֶּלֶךְham/ME/lekhthe kingלִהְיוֹתlih/YOTto beלְעָםle/AMa peopleלַיהֹוָה׃la-Adonaifor the LORD

    And Jehoiada made a covenant between him, and between all the people, and between the king, that they should be the LORD's people.

17. 17

    וַיָּבֹאוּvay/ya/VO/uand they cameכׇל־הָעָםkhol-ha/AMall the peopleבֵּית־הַבַּעַלbet-Hab/BA/alto the house of Baalוַיִּתְּצֻהוּvay/yit/te/TSU/huand tore it downוְאֶת־מִזְבְּחֹתָיוve/ET-miz/be/cho/TAYVand its altarsוְאֶת־צְלָמָיוve/ET-tse/la/MAYVand its imagesשִׁבֵּרוּshib/BE/ruthey broke in piecesוְאֵתve/ETandמַתָּןMat/TANMattanכֹּהֵןko/HENthe priest ofהַבַּעַלHab/BA/alBaalהָרְגוּha/re/GUthey killedלִפְנֵיlif/NEbeforeהַמִּזְבְּחוֹת׃ham/miz/be/CHOTthe altars

    Then all the people went to the house of Baal, and brake it down, and brake his altars and his images in pieces, and slew Mattan the priest of Baal before the altars.

18. 18

    וַיָּשֶׂםvay/YA/semand appointedיְהוֹיָדָעYe/ho/ya/DAJehoiadaפְּקֻדּוֹתpe/kud/DOTthe offices ofבֵּיתbetthe house ofיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDבְּיַדbe/YADin the hand ofהַכֹּהֲנִיםhak/ko/ha/NIMthe priestsהַלְוִיִּםHal/viy/YIMthe Levitesאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhomחָלַקcha/LAKhad dividedדָּוִידDa/VIDDavidעַל־בֵּיתal-betover the house ofיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDלְהַעֲלוֹתle/ha/a/LOTto offerעֹלוֹתo/LOTthe burnt offerings ofיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDכַּכָּתוּבkak/ka/TUVas it is writtenבְּתוֹרַתbe/to/RATin the law ofמֹשֶׁהMo/SHEMosesבְּשִׂמְחָהbe/sim/CHAwith joyוּבְשִׁירu/ve/SHIRand with songעַלalbyיְדֵיye/DEthe hands ofדָוִיד׃Da/VIDDavid

    Also Jehoiada appointed the offices of the house of the LORD by the hand of the priests the Levites, whom David had distributed in the house of the LORD, to offer the burnt offerings of the LORD, as it is written in the law of Moses, with rejoicing and with singing, as it was ordained by David.

    וַיַּעֲמֵדvay/ya/a/MEDand he setהַשּׁוֹעֲרִיםhash/sho/a/RIMthe gatekeepersעַל־שַׁעֲרֵיal-sha/a/REat the gates ofבֵּיתbetthe house ofיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDוְלֹא־יָבוֹאve/LO-ya/VOthat none should enterטָמֵאta/MEwho was uncleanלְכׇל־דָּבָר׃le/KHOL-da/VARin any thing

    And he set the porters at the gates of the house of the LORD, that none which was unclean in any thing should enter in.

20. 20

    וַיִּקַּחvay/yik/KACHand tookאֶת־שָׂרֵיet-sa/REthe commanders ofהַמֵּאוֹתham/me/OThundredsוְאֶת־הָאַדִּירִיםve/ET-ha/ad/di/RIMand the noblesוְאֶת־הַמּוֹשְׁלִיםve/ET-ham/mosh/LIMand the rulersבָּעָםba/AMover the peopleוְאֵתve/ETandכׇּל־עַםkol-amall the people ofהָאָרֶץha/A/retsthe landוַיּוֹרֶדvay/YO/redand brought downאֶת־הַמֶּלֶךְet-ham/ME/lekhthe kingמִבֵּיתmib/BETfrom the house ofיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDוַיָּבֹאוּvay/ya/VO/uand they cameבְּתוֹךְ־שַׁעַרbe/TOKH-SHA/arthrough the gateהָעֶלְיוֹןha/el/YONupperבֵּיתbetinto the house ofהַמֶּלֶךְham/ME/lekhthe kingוַיּוֹשִׁיבוּvay/yo/SHI/vuand setאֶת־הַמֶּלֶךְet-ham/ME/lekhthe kingעַלalonכִּסֵּאkis/SEthe throne ofהַמַּמְלָכָה׃ham/mam/la/KHAthe kingdom

    And he took the captains of hundreds, and the nobles, and the governors of the people, and all the people of the land, and brought down the king from the house of the LORD: and they came through the high gate into the king's house, and set the king upon the throne of the kingdom.

21. 21

    וַיִּשְׂמְחוּvay/yis/me/CHUand rejoicedכׇל־עַם־הָאָרֶץkhol-am-ha/A/retsall the people of the landוְהָעִירve/ha/IRand the cityשָׁקָטָהsha/KA/tawas quietוְאֶת־עֲתַלְיָהוּve/ET-a/tal/YA/huand Athaliahהֵמִיתוּhe/MI/tuthey had put to deathבֶחָרֶב׃ve/CHA/revby the sword

    And all the people of the land rejoiced: and the city was quiet, after that they had slain Athaliah with the sword.
