    The sons of Judah; Er, and Onan, and Shelah: which three were born unto him of the daughter of Shua the Canaanitess. And Er, the firstborn of Judah, was evil in the sight of the LORD; and he slew him.

    And the sons of Zerah; Zimri, and Ethan, and Heman, and Calcol, and Dara: five of them in all.

    And the sons of Carmi; Achar, the troubler of Israel, who transgressed in the thing accursed.

    The sons also of Hezron, that were born unto him; Jerahmeel, and Ram, and Chelubai.

    And Boaz begat Obed, and Obed begat Jesse,

    And Jesse begat his firstborn Eliab, and Abinadab the second, and Shimma the third,

    Ozem the sixth, David the seventh:

    Whose sisters were Zeruiah, and Abigail. And the sons of Zeruiah; Abishai, and Joab, and Asahel, three.

    And Abigail bare Amasa: and the father of Amasa was Jether the Ishmeelite.

    וְכָלֵבve/Kha/LEVand Calebבֶּן־חֶצְרוֹןben-Chets/RONthe son of Hezronהוֹלִידho/LIDbegatאֶת־עֲזוּבָהet-A/zu/VAAzubahאִשָּׁהish/SHAa wifeוְאֶת־יְרִיעוֹתve/ET-ye/ri/OTand Jeriothוְאֵלֶּהve/EL/leand theseבָנֶיהָva/NE/haher sonsיֵשֶׁרYE/sherJesherוְשׁוֹבָבve/Sho/VAVand Shobabוְאַרְדּוֹן׃ve/Ar/DONand Ardon

    And Caleb the son of Hezron begat children of Azubah his wife, and of Jerioth: her sons are these; Jesher, and Shobab, and Ardon.

    וַתָּמׇתvat/TA/motand diedעֲזוּבָהA/zu/VAAzubahוַיִּקַּח־לוֹvay/yik/KACH-loand took for himselfכָלֵבKha/LEVCalebאֶת־אֶפְרָתet-Ef/RATEphrathוַתֵּלֶדvat/TE/ledand she boreלוֹloto himאֶת־חוּר׃et-ChurHur

    And when Azubah was dead, Caleb took unto him Ephrath, which bare him Hur.

    וְחוּרve/CHURand Hurהוֹלִידho/LIDbegatאֶת־אוּרִיet-U/RIUriוְאוּרִיve/U/RIand Uriהוֹלִידho/LIDbegatאֶת־בְּצַלְאֵל׃et-Be/tsal/ELBezaleel

    And Hur begat Uri, and Uri begat Bezaleel.

    וְאַחַרve/a/CHARand afterwardבָּאbawent inחֶצְרוֹןChets/RONHezronאֶל־בַּת־מָכִירel-Bat-ma/KHIRto the daughter of Machirאֲבִיa/VIthe father ofגִלְעָדGil/ADGileadוְהוּאve/HUand heלְקָחָהּle/ka/CHAtook herוְהוּאve/HUwhen he wasבֶּן־שִׁשִּׁיםben-shish/SHIMa son of sixtyשָׁנָהsha/NAyearsוַתֵּלֶדvat/TE/ledand she boreלוֹloto himאֶת־שְׂגוּב׃et-Se/GUVSegub

    And afterward Hezron went in to the daughter of Machir the father of Gilead, whom he married when he was threescore years old; and she bare him Segub.

    וּשְׂגוּבu/Se/GUVand Segubהוֹלִידho/LIDbegatאֶת־יָאִירet-Ya/IRJairוַיְהִי־לוֹvay/HI-lowho hadעֶשְׂרִיםes/RIMtwentyוְשָׁלוֹשׁve/sha/LOSHand threeעָרִיםa/RIMcitiesבְּאֶרֶץbe/E/retsin the land ofהַגִּלְעָד׃Hag/gil/ADGilead

    And Segub begat Jair, who had three and twenty cities in the land of Gilead.

    וַיִּקַּחvay/yik/KACHand tookגְּשׁוּר־וַאֲרָםGe/SHUR-va/a/RAMGeshur and Aramאֶת־חַוֺּתet-Chav/VOTHavvoth-יָאִירya/IRjairמֵאִתָּםme/it/TAMfrom themאֶת־קְנָתet-Ke/NATKenathוְאֶת־בְּנֹתֶיהָve/ET-be/no/TE/haand its villagesשִׁשִּׁיםshish/SHIMsixtyעִירircitiesכׇּל־אֵלֶּהkol-EL/leall these wereבְּנֵיbe/NEthe sons ofמָכִירMa/KHIRMachirאֲבִי־גִלְעָד׃a/VI-Gil/ADthe father of Gilead

    And he took Geshur, and Aram, with the towns of Jair, from them, with Kenath, and the towns thereof, even threescore cities. All these belonged to the sons of Machir the father of Gilead.

    וְאַחַרve/a/CHARand afterמוֹת־חֶצְרוֹןmot-Chets/RONthe death of Hezronבְּכָלֵבbe/Kha/LEVin Caleb-אֶפְרָתָהef/RA/taephratahוְאֵשֶׁתve/E/shetthen the wife ofחֶצְרוֹןChets/RONHezronאֲבִיָּהA/viy/YAAbijahוַתֵּלֶדvat/TE/ledboreלוֹloto himאֶת־אַשְׁחוּרet-Ash/CHURAshhurאֲבִיa/VIthe father ofתְקוֹעַ׃Te/KO/aTekoa

    And after that Hezron was dead in Caleb-ephratah, then Abiah Hezron's wife bare him Ashur the father of Tekoa.

    וַיִּהְיוּvay/yih/YUand wereבְנֵי־יְרַחְמְאֵלve/NE-ye/rach/me/ELthe sons of Jerahmeelבְּכוֹרbe/KHORthe firstborn ofחֶצְרוֹןChets/RONHezronהַבְּכוֹרhab/be/KHORthe firstbornרָםRamRamוּבוּנָהu/Vu/NAand Bunahוָאֹרֶןva/O/renand Orenוָאֹצֶםva/O/tsemand Ozemאֲחִיָּה׃A/chiy/YAAhijah

    And the sons of Jerahmeel the firstborn of Hezron were, Ram the firstborn, and Bunah, and Oren, and Ozem, and Ahijah.

    וַתְּהִיvat/te/HIand wasאִשָּׁהish/SHAa wifeאַחֶרֶתa/CHE/retanotherלִירַחְמְאֵלlI/rach/me/ELof Jerahmeelוּשְׁמָהּu/she/MAand her nameעֲטָרָהA/ta/RAAtarahהִיאhishe wasאֵםemthe mother ofאוֹנָם׃O/NAMOnam

    Jerahmeel had also another wife, whose name was Atarah; she was the mother of Onam.

    וַיִּהְיוּvay/yih/YUand wereבְנֵי־רָםve/NE-ramthe sons of Ramבְּכוֹרbe/KHORthe firstborn ofיְרַחְמְאֵלYe/rach/me/ELJerahmeelמַעַץMA/atsMaazוְיָמִיןve/Ya/MINand Jaminוָעֵקֶר׃va/E/kerand Eker

    And the sons of Ram the firstborn of Jerahmeel were, Maaz, and Jamin, and Eker.

    וַיִּהְיוּvay/yih/YUand wereבְנֵי־אוֹנָםve/NE-o/NAMthe sons of OnamשַׁמַּיSham/MAYShammaiוְיָדָעve/Ya/DAand Jadaוּבְנֵיu/ve/NEand the sons ofשַׁמַּיSham/MAYShammaiנָדָבNa/DAVNadabוַאֲבִישׁוּר׃va/A/vi/SHURand Abishur

    And the sons of Onam were, Shammai, and Jada. And the sons of Shammai; Nadab, and Abishur.

    וְשֵׁםve/SHEMand the name ofאֵשֶׁתE/shetthe wife ofאֲבִישׁוּרA/vi/SHURAbishurאֲבִיהָיִלA/vi/HA/yilAbihailוַתֵּלֶדvat/TE/ledand she boreלוֹloto himאֶת־אַחְבָּןet-Ach/BANAhbanוְאֶת־מוֹלִיד׃ve/ET-mo/LIDand Molid

    And the name of the wife of Abishur was Abihail, and she bare him Ahban, and Molid.

    וּבְנֵיu/ve/NEand the sons ofנָדָבNa/DAVNadabסֶלֶדSE/ledSeledוְאַפָּיִםve/Ap/PA/yimand Appaimוַיָּמׇתvay/YA/motand diedסֶלֶדSE/ledSeledלֹאlowithoutבָנִים׃va/NIMchildren

    And the sons of Nadab; Seled, and Appaim: but Seled died without children.

    וּבְנֵיu/ve/NEand the sons ofאַפַּיִםAp/PA/yimAppaimיִשְׁעִיYish/IIshiוּבְנֵיu/ve/NEand the sons ofיִשְׁעִיYish/IIshiשֵׁשָׁןShe/SHANSheshanוּבְנֵיu/ve/NEand the sons ofשֵׁשָׁןShe/SHANSheshanאַחְלָי׃Ach/LAYAhlai

    And the sons of Appaim; Ishi. And the sons of Ishi; Sheshan. And the children of Sheshan; Ahlai.

    וּבְנֵיu/ve/NEand the sons ofיָדָעYa/DAJadaאֲחִיa/CHIthe brother ofשַׁמַּיSham/MAYShammaiיֶתֶרYE/terJetherוְיוֹנָתָןve/Yo/na/TANand Jonathanוַיָּמׇתvay/YA/motand diedיֶתֶרYE/terJetherלֹאlowithoutבָנִים׃va/NIMchildren

    And the sons of Jada the brother of Shammai; Jether, and Jonathan: and Jether died without children.

    וּבְנֵיu/ve/NEand the sons ofיוֹנָתָןYo/na/TANJonathanפֶּלֶתPE/letPeletוְזָזָאve/Za/ZAand ZazaאֵלֶּהEL/letheseהָיוּha/YUwereבְּנֵיbe/NEthe sons ofיְרַחְמְאֵל׃Ye/rach/me/ELJerahmeel

    And the sons of Jonathan; Peleth, and Zaza. These were the sons of Jerahmeel.

    וְלֹא־הָיָהve/LO-HA/yaand there were notלְשֵׁשָׁןle/She/SHANto Sheshanבָּנִיםba/NIMsonsכִּיkibutאִם־בָּנוֹתim-ba/NOTonly daughtersוּלְשֵׁשָׁןu/Le/she/SHANand Sheshan hadעֶבֶדE/veda servantמִצְרִיMits/RIan Egyptianוּשְׁמוֹu/she/MOand his nameיַרְחָע׃Yar/CHAJarha

    Now Sheshan had no sons, but daughters. And Sheshan had a servant, an Egyptian, whose name was Jarha.

    וַיִּתֵּןvay/yit/TENand gaveשֵׁשָׁןShe/SHANSheshanאֶת־בִּתּוֹet-bit/TOhis daughterלְיַרְחָעle/Yar/CHAto Jarhaעַבְדּוֹav/DOhis servantלְאִשָּׁהle/ish/SHAas wifeוַתֵּלֶדvat/TE/ledand she boreלוֹloto himאֶת־עַתָּי׃et-At/TAYAttai

    And Sheshan gave his daughter to Jarha his servant to wife; and she bare him Attai.

    וְעַתַּיve/At/TAYand Attaiהֹלִידho/LIDbegatאֶת־נָתָןet-Na/TANNathanוְנָתָןve/Na/TANand Nathanהוֹלִידho/LIDbegatאֶת־זָבָד׃et-Za/VADZabad

    And Attai begat Nathan, and Nathan begat Zabad,

  37. 37

    וְזָבָדve/Za/VADand Zabadהוֹלִידho/LIDbegatאֶת־אֶפְלָלet-Ef/LALEphlalוְאֶפְלָלve/Ef/LALand Ephlalהוֹלִידho/LIDbegatאֶת־עוֹבֵד׃et-O/VEDObed

    And Zabad begat Ephlal, and Ephlal begat Obed,

    וְעוֹבֵדve/O/VEDand Obedהוֹלִידho/LIDbegatאֶת־יֵהוּאet-Ye/HUJehuוְיֵהוּאve/Ye/HUand Jehuהֹלִידho/LIDbegatאֶת־עֲזַרְיָה׃et-A/zar/YAAzariah

    And Obed begat Jehu, and Jehu begat Azariah,

    וַעֲזַרְיָהva/A/zar/YAand Azariahהֹלִידho/LIDbegatאֶת־חָלֶץet-CHA/letsHelezוְחֶלֶץve/CHE/letsand Helezהֹלִידho/LIDbegatאֶת־אֶלְעָשָׂה׃et-El/a/SAEleasah

    And Azariah begat Helez, and Helez begat Eleasah,

    וְאֶלְעָשָׂהve/El/a/SAand Eleasahהֹלִידho/LIDbegatאֶת־סִסְמָיet-Sis/MAYSisamaiוְסִסְמַיve/Sis/MAYand Sisamaiהֹלִידho/LIDbegatאֶת־שַׁלּוּם׃et-Shal/LUMShallum

    And Eleasah begat Sisamai, and Sisamai begat Shallum,

    And Shallum begat Jekamiah, and Jekamiah begat Elishama.

    Now the sons of Caleb the brother of Jerahmeel were, Mesha his firstborn, which was the father of Ziph; and the sons of Mareshah the father of Hebron.

    And the sons of Hebron; Korah, and Tappuah, and Rekem, and Shema.

    וְשֶׁמַעve/SHE/maand Shemaהוֹלִידho/LIDbegatאֶת־רַחַםet-RA/chamRahamאֲבִיa/VIthe father ofיׇרְקְעָםYor/ke/AMJorkeamוְרֶקֶםve/RE/kemand Rekemהוֹלִידho/LIDbegatאֶת־שַׁמָּי׃et-Sham/MAYShammai

    And Shema begat Raham, the father of Jorkoam: and Rekem begat Shammai.

    וּבֶן־שַׁמַּיu/VEN-sham/MAYand the son of ShammaiמָעוֹןMa/ONMaonוּמָעוֹןu/Ma/ONand Maonאֲבִיa/VIthe father ofבֵית־צוּר׃Vet-tsurBeth-zur

    And the son of Shammai was Maon: and Maon was the father of Beth-zur.

    And the sons of Jahdai; Regem, and Jotham, and Geshan, and Pelet, and Ephah, and Shaaph.

    She bare also Shaaph the father of Madmannah, Sheva the father of Machbenah, and the father of Gibea: and the daughter of Caleb was Achsah.

    And Shobal the father of Kirjath-jearim had sons; Haroeh, and half of the Manahethites.

    And the families of Kirjath-jearim; the Ithrites, and the Puhites, and the Shumathites, and the Mishraites; of them came the Zareathites, and the Eshtaulites.

    The sons of Salma; Beth-lehem, and the Netophathites, Ataroth, the house of Joab, and half of the Manahethites, the Zorites.

    And the families of the scribes which dwelt at Jabez; the Tirathites, the Shimeathites, and Suchathites. These are the Kenites that came of Hemath, the father of the house of Rechab.
