   Hearken, O ye who have given your names to go forth to proclaim my gospel, and to prune my vineyard.

   Behold, I say unto you that it is my will that you should go forth and not tarry, neither be idle but labor with your might—

   Lifting up your voices as with the sound of a trump, proclaiming the truth according to the revelations and commandments which I have given you.

   וְכָכָהve/KHA/khaand thusאִםimifתִּהְיוּtih/YUyou areנֶאֱמָנִיםne/e/ma/NIMfaithfulתִּהְיוּtih/YUyou shall beעֲמוּסִיםa/mu/SIMladenבׇּעֳמָרִיםbo/o/ma/RIMwith sheavesרַבִּיםrab/BIMmanyוּמְעֻטָּרִיםu/me/ut/ta/RIMand crownedבְּכָבוֹדbe/kha/VODwith honorוּתְהִלָּהu/te/hil/LAand gloryוְאַל־מָוֶתve/AL-MA/vetand immortalityוְחַיֵּיve/chay/YEand lifeעוֹלָם׃o/LAMeternal

   And thus, if ye are faithful ye shall be laden with many sheaves, and crowned with honor, and glory, and immortality, and eternal life.

   Therefore, verily I say unto my servant William E. McLellin, I revoke the commission which I gave unto him to go unto the eastern countries;

   וַאֲנִיva/a/NIand Iנוֹתֵןno/TENgiveלוֹlohimמִשְׁלַחַתmish/LA/chata commissionחֲדָשָׁהcha/da/SHAnewוּמִצְוָהu/mits/VAand a commandmentחֲדָשָׁהcha/da/SHAnewאֲשֶׁרa/SHERin whichבָּהּbain itאֲנִיa/NIIיְהוָהAdonaithe Lordמְיַסְּרוֹme/yas/se/ROchasten himעַלalforתְּלוּנוֹתte/lu/NOTthe murmuringsלִבּוֹ׃lib/BOof his heart

   And I give unto him a new commission and a new commandment, in the which I, the Lord, chasten him for the murmurings of his heart;

   And he sinned; nevertheless, I forgive him and say unto him again, Go ye into the south countries.

   וְעַבְדִּיve/av/DIand my servantלוּקLukLukeג׳וֹנְסוֹןGon/SONJohnsonיֵלֵךְye/LEKHlet goעִמּוֹim/MOwith himוְיַכְרִיזוּve/yakh/ri/ZUand let them proclaimאֶת־הַדְּבָרִיםet-had/de/va/RIMthe thingsאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhichצִוִּיתִים׃tsiv/vi/TIMI commanded them

   And let my servant Luke Johnson go with him, and proclaim the things which I have commanded them—

    קוֹרְאִיםkor/IMcallingבְּשֵׁםbe/SHEMupon the nameיְהוָהAdonaiof the LordלַמְנַחֵםLam/na/CHEMfor the Comforterאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhichיְלַמְּדֵםye/lam/me/DEMshall teach themכׇּלkolallהַדְּבָרִיםhad/de/va/RIMthe thingsהַנְּכוֹנִיםhan/ne/kho/NIMthat are expedientלָהֶם׃la/HEMunto them

    Calling on the name of the Lord for the Comforter, which shall teach them all things that are expedient for them—

    מִתְפַּלְּלִיםmit/pal/le/LIMprayingתָּמִידta/MIDalwaysלְבַלle/VALthat notיִכָּשְׁלוּyik/ka/she/LUthey faintוּכְפִיu/khe/FIand inasmuchאֲשֶׁרa/SHERasיַעֲשׂוּya/a/SUthey doכֵןkhensoאֶהְיֶהeh/YEI will beעִמָּםim/MAMwith themעַדadeven untoהַקֵּץ׃hak/KETSthe end

    Praying always that they faint not; and inasmuch as they do this, I will be with them even unto the end.

    הִנֵּהhin/NEbeholdזֶהzethis isרְצוֹןre/TSONthe willיְהוָהAdonaiof the Lordאֱלֹהֵיכֶםe/lo/he/KHEMyour Godעֲלֵיכֶםa/le/KHEMconcerning youכֵּןkeneven soיְהִיye/HIbe itאָמֵן׃a/MENAmen

    Behold, this is the will of the Lord your God concerning you. Even so. Amen.

    And again, verily thus saith the Lord, let my servant Orson Hyde and my servant Samuel H. Smith take their journey into the eastern countries, and proclaim the things which I have commanded them; and inasmuch as they are faithful, lo, I will be with them even unto the end.

    And again, verily I say unto my servant Lyman Johnson, and unto my servant Orson Pratt, they shall also take their journey into the eastern countries; and behold, and lo, I am with them also, even unto the end.

    And again, I say unto my servant Asa Dodds, and unto my servant Calves Wilson, that they also shall take their journey unto the western countries, and proclaim my gospel, even as I have commanded them.

    וְהַנֶּאֱמָןve/han/ne/e/MANand he that is faithfulיִגְבַּרyig/BARshall overcomeעַלaluponכׇּלkolallדָּבָרda/VARthingsוְיִנָּשֵׂאve/yin/na/SEand shall be lifted upבַּיּוֹםbay/YOMat the dayהָאַחֲרוֹן׃ha/a/cha/RONlast

    And he who is faithful shall overcome all things, and shall be lifted up at the last day.

    וְעוֹדve/ODand againאֲנִיa/NIIאוֹמֵרo/MERsayלְעַבְדִּיle/av/DIunto my servantמֵיג׳וֹרMe/GORMajorנ.nNאֶשְׁלִיEsh/LIAshleyוּלְעַבְדִּיu/le/av/DIand unto my servantבֶּרBerBurrרִיגְסRigsRiggsיֵצְאוּyets/Ulet them takeגַםgamalsoהֵםhemtheyלְדַרְכָּםle/dar/KAMtheir journeyלְאַרְצוֹתle/ar/TSOTunto the countriesהַדָּרוֹם׃had/da/ROMof the south

    And again, I say unto my servant Major N. Ashley, and my servant Burr Riggs, let them take their journey also into the south country.

    אָכֵןa/KHENyeaיֵצְאוּyets/Ulet takeכֻּלָּםkul/LAMall of themלְדַרְכָּםle/dar/KAMtheir journeyכַּאֲשֶׁרka/a/SHERasצִוִּיתִיםtsiv/vi/TIMI commanded themהוֹלְכִיםhol/KHIMgoingמִבַּיִתmib/BA/yitfrom houseלְבַיִתle/VA/yitto houseוּמִכְּפָרu/mik/ke/FARand from villageלְכָפָרle/kha/FARto villageוּמֵעִירu/me/IRand from cityלְעִיר׃le/IRto city

    Yea, let all those take their journey, as I have commanded them, going from house to house, and from village to village, and from city to city.

    וּבְכׇלu/ve/KHOLand in whatsoeverבַּיִתBA/yithouseאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthatתָּבֹאוּta/VO/uyou enterוִיקַבְּלוּvi/kab/be/LUand they receiveאֶתְכֶםet/KHEMyouהַנִּיחוּhan/NI/chuleaveבִּרְכַתְכֶםbir/khat/KHEMyour blessingעַלaluponהַבַּיִתhab/BA/yithouseהַהוּא׃ha/HUthat

    And in whatsoever house ye enter, and they receive you, leave your blessing upon that house.

    וּבְכׇלu/ve/KHOLand in whatsoeverבַּיִתBA/yithouseאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthatתָּבֹאוּta/VO/uyou enterוְלֹאve/LOand notיְקַבְּלוּye/kab/be/LUthey receiveאֶתְכֶםet/KHEMyouצְאוּtse/Udepartמְהֵרָהme/he/RAspeedilyמִןminfromהַבַּיִתhab/BA/yithouseהַהוּאha/HUthatוְנַעֲרוּve/na/a/RUand shake offאֶת־עֲפַרet-a/FARthe dustרַגְלֵיכֶםrag/le/KHEMof your feetלְעֵדוּתle/e/DUTas a testimonyעֲלֵיהֶם׃a/le/HEMagainst them

    And in whatsoever house ye enter, and they receive you not, ye shall depart speedily from that house, and shake off the dust of your feet as a testimony against them.

21. 21

    וְתִמָּלְאוּve/tim/ma/le/Uand you shall be filledשָׂשׂוֹןsa/SONwith joyוְשִׂמְחָהve/sim/CHAand gladnessוּדְעוּu/de/Uand knowזֹאתzotthisכִּיkithatבְּיוֹםbe/YOMin the dayהַמִּשְׁפָּטham/mish/PATof judgmentתִּהְיוּtih/YUyou shall beשׁוֹפְטִיםshof/TIMjudges ofעַלaluponהַבַּיִתhab/BA/yithouseהַהוּאha/HUthatוְתַרְשִׁיעוּve/tar/shi/Uand shall condemnאוֹתָם׃o/TAMthem

    And you shall be filled with joy and gladness; and know this, that in the day of judgment you shall be judges of that house, and condemn them;

22. 22

    וְיֵקַלve/ye/KALand it shall be more tolerableלַגּוֹיִםlag/go/YIMfor the heathenבְּיוֹםbe/YOMin the dayהַמִּשְׁפָּטham/mish/PATof judgmentמֵהַבַּיִתme/hab/BA/yitthan for the houseהַהוּאha/HUthatלָכֵןla/KHENthereforeחִגְרוּchig/RUgird upמׇתְנֵיכֶםmot/ne/KHEMyour loinsוֶהֱיוּve/he/YUand beנֶאֱמָנִיםne/e/ma/NIMfaithfulוְתִגְבְּרוּve/tig/be/RUand you shall overcomeעַלaluponכׇּלkolallדָּבָרda/VARthingsוְתִנָּשְׂאוּve/tin/na/se/Uand be lifted upבַּיּוֹםbay/YOMat the dayהָאַחֲרוֹןha/a/cha/RONlastכֵּןkeneven soיְהִיye/HIbe itאָמֵן׃a/MENAmen

    And it shall be more tolerable for the heathen in the day of judgment, than for that house; therefore, gird up your loins and be faithful, and ye shall overcome all things, and be lifted up at the last day. Even so. Amen.

    וְעוֹדve/ODand againכֹּהkothusאָמַרa/MARsaysיְהוָהAdonaithe Lordאֲלֵיכֶםa/le/KHEMunto youזִקְנֵיzik/NEO eldersכְּנֵסִיָּתִיke/ne/siy/ya/TIof my churchאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhoנְתַתֶּםne/tat/TEMgaveשְׁמוֹתֵיכֶםshe/mo/te/KHEMyour namesלְמַעַןle/MA/anthatתֵּדְעוּted/Uyou might knowאֶת־רְצוֹנוֹet-re/tso/NOhis willעֲלֵיכֶם׃a/le/KHEMconcerning you

    And again, thus saith the Lord unto you, O ye elders of my church, who have given your names that you might know his will concerning you—

24. 24

    הִנֵּהhin/NEbeholdאֲנִיa/NIIאוֹמֵרo/MERsayלָכֶםla/KHEMunto youכִּיkithatמִשְׁמֶרֶתmish/ME/retit is the dutyהַכְּנֵסִיָּהhak/ke/ne/siy/YAof the churchלַעְזֹרla/ZORto assistבְּתׇמְכָהּbe/tom/KHAin supportingמִשְׁפְּחוֹתmish/pe/CHOTthe familiesאֵלֶּהEL/leof theseוְגַםve/GAMand alsoלִתְמֹךְlit/MOKHto supportמִשְׁפְּחוֹתmish/pe/CHOTthe familiesהַנִּקְרָאִיםhan/nik/ra/IMof those who are calledוְנָכוֹןve/na/KHONand mustכִּיkithatיִשָּׁלְחוּyish/sha/le/CHUbe sentלָעוֹלָםla/o/LAMunto the worldלְהַכְרִיזle/hakh/RIZto proclaimאֶת־הַבְּשׂוֹרָהet-hab/be/so/RAthe gospelלָעוֹלָם׃la/o/LAMunto the world

    Behold, I say unto you, that it is the duty of the church to assist in supporting the families of those, and also to support the families of those who are called and must needs be sent unto the world to proclaim the gospel unto the world.

    לָכֵןla/KHENwhereforeאֲנִיa/NIIיְהוָהAdonaithe Lordנוֹתֵןno/TENgiveלָכֶםla/KHEMyouאֶת־הַמִּצְוָהet-ham/mits/VAthe commandmentהַזֹּאתhaz/ZOTthisכִּיkithatתַשִּׂיגוּtas/si/GUyou obtainמְקוֹמוֹתme/ko/MOTplacesלְמִשְׁפְּחוֹתֵיכֶםle/mish/pe/cho/te/KHEMfor your familiesכְּפִיke/FIinasmuchאֲשֶׁרa/SHERasאֲחֵיכֶםa/che/KHEMyour brethrenמוּכָנִיםmu/kha/NIMare willingלִפְתֹּחַlif/TO/achto openלִבּוֹתֵיהֶם׃lib/bo/te/HEMtheir hearts

    Wherefore, I, the Lord, give unto you this commandment, that ye obtain places for your families, inasmuch as your brethren are willing to open their hearts.

    וְכׇלve/KHOLand let allאֵלֶּהEL/letheseאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthatיְכוֹלִיםye/kho/LIMcanלְהַשִּׂיגle/has/SIGobtainמְקוֹמוֹתme/ko/MOTplacesלְמִשְׁפְּחוֹתֵיהֶםle/mish/pe/cho/te/HEMfor their familiesוְעֶזְרַתve/ez/RATand the supportהַכְּנֵסִיָּהhak/ke/ne/siy/YAof the churchלָהֶםla/HEMfor themאַלalnotיִמָּנְעוּyim/ma/ne/Ulet them failמִלָּלֶכֶתmil/la/LE/khetfrom goingלָעוֹלָםla/o/LAMinto the worldאִםimwhetherלַמִּזְרָחlam/miz/RACHto the eastוְאִםve/IMwhetherלַמַּעֲרָבlam/ma/a/RAVto the westאוֹoorלַצָּפוֹןlats/tsa/FONto the northאוֹoorלַדָּרוֹם׃lad/da/ROMto the south

    And let all such as can obtain places for their families, and support of the church for them, not fail to go into the world, whether to the east or to the west, or to the north, or to the south.

    יִשְׁאֲלוּyish/a/LUlet them askוִיקַבְּלוּvi/kab/be/LUand they shall receiveיִדְפְּקוּyid/pe/KUlet them knockוְיִפָּתַחve/yip/PA/tachand it shall be openedלָהֶםla/HEMunto themוְיוּדַעve/yu/DAand shall be made knownלָהֶםla/HEMunto themמִמָּרוֹםmim/ma/ROMfrom on highגַּםgamevenבְּיַדbe/YADbyהַמְּנַחֵםham/Me/na/CHEMthe ComforterאָנָהA/nawhitherיֵלֵכוּ׃ye/le/KHUthey shall go

    Let them ask and they shall receive, knock and it shall be opened unto them, and be made known from on high, even by the Comforter, whither they shall go.

    וְעוֹדve/ODand againאָמֵןa/MENverilyאֲנִיa/NIIאוֹמֵרo/MERsayלָכֶםla/KHEMunto youכׇּלkoleveryאִישׁishmanאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhoעָלָיוa/LAYVis obligedלְכַלְכֵּלle/khal/KELto provideאֶת־מִשְׁפַּחְתּוֹet-mish/pach/TOhis familyיְכַלְכֵּלye/khal/KELlet him provideוְלֹאve/LOand notיְאַבֵּדye/ab/BEDshall he loseאֶת־עֲטָרָתוֹet-a/ta/ra/TOhis crownוְיַעֲבֹדve/ya/a/VODand let him laborבַּכְּנֵסִיָּה׃bak/ke/ne/siy/YAin the church

    And again, verily I say unto you, that every man who is obliged to provide for his own family, let him provide, and he shall in nowise lose his crown; and let him labor in the church.

    יִהְיֶהyih/YElet beכׇּלkoleveryאִישׁishmanחָרוּץcha/RUTSdiligentבְּכׇלbe/KHOLin allדָּבָרda/VARthingsוְהֶעָצֵלve/he/a/TSELand the idlerלֹאlonotיִהְיֶה־לּוֹyih/YE-loshall he haveמָקוֹםma/KOMplaceבַּכְּנֵסִיָּהbak/ke/ne/siy/YAin the churchכִּי־אִםki-imexceptיָשׁוּבya/SHUVhe repentוִיתַקֵּןvi/tak/KENand mendדְּרָכָיו׃de/ra/KHAYVhis ways

    Let every man be diligent in all things. And the idler shall not have place in the church, except he repent and mend his ways.

    Wherefore, let my servant Simeon Carter and my servant Emer Harris be united in the ministry;
