   Hearken, O ye elders of my church, and give ear to my word, and learn of me what I will concerning you, and also concerning this land unto which I have sent you.

   For verily I say unto you, blessed is he that keepeth my commandments, whether in life or in death; and he that is faithful in tribulation, the reward of the same is greater in the kingdom of heaven.

   Ye cannot behold with your natural eyes, for the present time, the design of your God concerning those things which shall come hereafter, and the glory which shall follow after much tribulation.

   For after much tribulation come the blessings. Wherefore the day cometh that ye shall be crowned with much glory; the hour is not yet, but is nigh at hand.

   Remember this, which I tell you before, that you may lay it to heart, and receive that which is to follow.

   הִנֵּהhin/NEbeholdאָמֵןa/MENverilyאֲנִיa/NIIאֹמֵרo/MERsayלָכֶםla/KHEMunto youלָזֹאתla/ZOTfor this causeשְׁלַחְתִּיכֶםshe/lach/ti/KHEMI sent youלְמַעַןle/MA/anthatתִּהְיוּtih/YUyou might beשׁוֹמְעִיםshom/IMobedientוּלְבַבְכֶםu/le/vav/KHEMand your heartsנָכוֹןna/KHONmight be preparedלָשֵׂאתla/SETto bearעֵדוּתe/DUTtestimonyעַלalofהַדְּבָרִיםhad/de/va/RIMthe thingsהַבָּאִים׃hab/ba/IMwhich are to come

   Behold, verily I say unto you, for this cause I have sent you—that you might be obedient, and that your hearts might be prepared to bear testimony of the things which are to come;

   And also that you might be honored in laying the foundation, and in bearing record of the land upon which the Zion of God shall stand;

   And also that a feast of fat things might be prepared for the poor; yea, a feast of fat things, of wine on the lees well refined, that the earth may know that the mouths of the prophets shall not fail;

   אָכֵןa/KHENyeaסְעוּדַתse/u/DATa supperבֵּיתbetof the houseיְהוָהAdonaiof the Lordמוּכָנָהmu/kha/NApreparedהֵיטֵבhe/TEVwellאֲשֶׁרa/SHERunto whichיִקָּרְאוּyik/ka/re/Ushall be invitedאֵלֶיהָe/LE/haunto itכׇּלkolallהַגּוֹיִם׃hag/go/YIMthe nations

   Yea, a supper of the house of the Lord, well prepared, unto which all nations shall be invited.

    רִאשׁוֹנָהri/sho/NAfirstהָעֲשִׁירִיםha/a/shi/RIMthe richוְהַלְּמוּדִיםve/hal/le/mu/DIMand the learnedהַחֲכָמִיםha/cha/kha/MIMthe wiseוְהָאַדִּירִים׃ve/ha/ad/di/RIMand the noble

    First, the rich and the learned, the wise and the noble;

    וְאַחֲרֵיve/a/cha/REand afterכֵןkhenthatיָבוֹאya/VOcomesיוֹםyomthe dayגְּבוּרָתִיge/vu/ra/TIof my powerוְאָזve/AZthenיָבֹאוּya/VO/ushall comeהָעֲנִיִּיםha/a/niy/YIMthe poorוְהַפִּסְחִיםve/hap/pis/CHIMand the lameוְהָעִוְרִיםve/ha/iv/RIMand the blindוְהַחֵרְשִׁיםve/ha/cher/SHIMand the deafלַחֲתֻנַּתla/cha/tun/NATto the marriageהַשֶּׂהhas/SEof the Lambוְיֹאכְלוּve/yo/khe/LUand shall eatבִּסְעוּדַתbis/u/DATin the supperיְהוָהAdonaiof the Lordהַמּוּכָנָהham/mu/kha/NAthe preparedלַיּוֹםlay/YOMfor the dayהַגָּדוֹלhag/ga/DOLthe greatהַבָּא׃hab/BAthe coming

    And after that cometh the day of my power; then shall the poor, the lame, and the blind, and the deaf, come in unto the marriage of the Lamb, and partake of the supper of the Lord, prepared for the great day to come.

    הִנֵּהhin/NEbeholdאֲנִיa/NIIיְהוָהAdonaithe Lordדִּבַּרְתִּי׃dib/bar/TIspoke it

    Behold, I, the Lord, have spoken it.

13. 13

    וּלְמַעַןu/le/MA/anand thatתֵּצֵאte/TSEmay go forthהָעֵדוּתha/e/DUTthe testimonyמִצִּיּוֹןmits/Tsiy/YONfrom Zionאָכֵןa/KHENyeaמִפִּיmip/PIfrom the mouthעִירirof the cityנַחֲלַתna/cha/LATof the heritageאֱלֹהִים׃e/lo/HIMof God

    And that the testimony might go forth from Zion, yea, from the mouth of the city of the heritage of God—

14. 14

    אָכֵןa/KHENyeaלָזֹאתla/ZOTfor this causeשְׁלַחְתִּיכֶםshe/lach/ti/KHEMI sent youהֵנָּהHEN/nahitherוָאֶבְחַרva/ev/CHARand selectedעַבְדִּיav/DImy servantאֶדְוָרְדEd/VARDEdwardפַּרְטְרִיג׳Par/te/RIGPartridgeוָאֲמַנֶּהva/a/man/NEand appointedלוֹlounto himמִשְׁלַחְתּוֹmish/lach/TOhis missionבָּאָרֶץba/A/retsin the landהַזֹּאת׃haz/ZOTthis

    Yea, for this cause I have sent you hither, and have selected my servant Edward Partridge, and have appointed unto him his mission in this land.

    אַךְakhbutאִםimifלֹאlonotיָשׁוּבya/SHUVhe repentמֵחֲטָאָיוme/cha/ta/AYVof his sinsאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhichהֵםhemareמַעַלMA/alunbeliefוְעִוְרוֹןve/iv/RONand blindnessלֵבlevof heartיִשָּׁמֵרyish/sha/MERlet him take heedפֶּןpenlestיִפֹּל׃yip/POLhe fall

    But if he repent not of his sins, which are unbelief and blindness of heart, let him take heed lest he fall.

    הִנֵּהhin/NEbeholdמִשְׁלַחְתּוֹmish/lach/TOhis missionנִתְּנָהnit/te/NAis givenלוֹlohimוְלֹאve/LOand notתִנָּתֵןtin/na/TENshall be givenשֵׁנִית׃she/NITagain

    Behold his mission is given unto him, and it shall not be given again.

    וְכׇלve/KHOLand whosoהָעוֹמֵדha/o/MEDstandsבַּמִּשְׁלַחַתbam/mish/LA/chatin the missionהַזֹּאתhaz/ZOTthisמְמֻנֶּהme/mun/NEis appointedלִהְיוֹתlih/YOTto beשׁוֹפֵטsho/FETa judgeבְּיִשְׂרָאֵלbe/Yis/ra/ELin Israelכַּאֲשֶׁרka/a/SHERlike asהָיָהha/YAit wasבִּימֵיbi/MEin the daysקֶדֶםKE/demof ancientלְחַלֵּקle/chal/LEKto divideאַרְצוֹתar/TSOTthe landsנַחֲלַתna/cha/LATof the heritageאֱלֹהִיםe/lo/HIMof Godלְבָנָיו׃le/va/NAYVunto his children

    And whoso standeth in this mission is appointed to be a judge in Israel, like as it was in ancient days, to divide the lands of the heritage of God unto his children;

    וְלִשְׁפֹּטve/lish/POTand to judgeעַמּוֹam/MOhis peopleעַלalbyפִּיpithe mouthעֵדוּתe/DUTof the testimonyהַצַּדִּיקִיםhats/tsad/di/KIMof the justוּבְעֶזְרַתu/ve/ez/RATand by the assistanceיוֹעֲצָיוyo/a/TSAYVof his counselorsלְפִיle/FIaccording toחֻקֵּיchuk/KEthe lawsהַמַּלְכוּתham/mal/KHUTof the kingdomהַנְּתוּנִיםhan/ne/tu/NIMwhich are givenבִּידֵיbi/DEby the handsנְבִיאֵיne/vi/Eof the prophetsאֱלֹהִים׃e/lo/HIMof God

    And to judge his people by the testimony of the just, and by the assistance of his counselors, according to the laws of the kingdom which are given by the prophets of God.

    כִּיkiforאָמֵןa/MENverilyאֲנִיa/NIIאֹמֵרo/MERsayלָכֶםla/KHEMunto youתּוֹרָתִיto/ra/TImy lawתִּשָּׁמֵרtish/sha/MERshall be keptבָּאָרֶץba/A/retson the landהַזֹּאת׃haz/ZOTthis

    For verily I say unto you, my law shall be kept on this land.

    אַלallet notיַחְשֹׁבyach/SHOVthinkאִישׁishany manכִּיkithatהוּאhuheמוֹשֵׁלmo/SHELis rulerכִּי־אִםki-imbutיִמְשֹׁלyim/SHOLlet ruleאֱלֹהִיםe/lo/HIMGodבַּשּׁוֹפֵטbash/sho/FETover him that judgesלְפִיle/FIaccording toעֲצַתa/TSATthe counselרְצוֹנוֹre/tso/NOof his willהוּאhuhis ownאוֹoorבְּמִלִּיםbe/mil/LIMin wordsאֲחֵרוֹתa/che/ROTotherבַּיּוֹעֵץbay/yo/ETShim that counselsאוֹoorבַּיּוֹשֵׁבbay/yo/SHEVhim that sitsעַלaluponכִּסֵּאkis/SEthe seatהַמִּשְׁפָּט׃ham/mish/PATof judgment

    Let no man think he is ruler; but let God rule him that judgeth, according to the counsel of his own will, or, in other words, him that counseleth or sitteth upon the judgment seat.

    אַלallet notיָפֵרya/FERbreakאִישׁishany manחֻקֵּיchuk/KEthe lawsהָאָרֶץha/A/retsof the landכִּיkiforהַשֹּׁמֵרhash/sho/MERhe that keepsחֻקֵּיchuk/KEthe lawsאֱלֹהִיםe/lo/HIMof Godאֵיןenhas noצֹרֶךְTSO/rekhneedלוֹlounto himלְהָפֵרle/ha/FERto breakחֻקֵּיchuk/KEthe lawsהָאָרֶץ׃ha/a/RETSof the land

    Let no man break the laws of the land, for he that keepeth the laws of God hath no need to break the laws of the land.

22. 22

    לָכֵןla/KHENwhereforeהִכָּנְעוּhik/ka/ne/Ube you subjectלַמֶּמְשָׁלוֹתlam/mem/sha/LOTto the powers that beעַדaduntilיִמְלֹךְyim/LOKHhe reignsאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhoseלוֹloto him isהַמִּשְׁפָּטham/mish/PATthe rightלִמְלֹךְlim/LOKHto reignוְיַכְנִיעַve/yakh/NI/aand he subduesכׇּלkolallאֹיְבָיוoy/VAYVhis enemiesתַּחַתTA/chatunderרַגְלָיו׃rag/LAYVhis feet

    Wherefore, be subject to the powers that be, until he reigns whose right it is to reign, and subdues all enemies under his feet.

    הִנֵּהhin/NEbeholdהַחֻקִּיםha/chuk/KIMthe lawsאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhichקִבַּלְתֶּםkib/bal/TEMyou receivedמִיָּדִיmiy/ya/DIfrom my handהֵםhemareחֻקֵּיchuk/KEthe lawsהַכְּנֵסִיָּהhak/ke/ne/siy/YAof the churchוּבְאוֹרu/ve/ORand in the lightזֶהzethisתַּצִּיגוּםtats/tsi/GUMyou shall hold them forthהִנֵּהhin/NEbeholdפֹּהpohere isחׇכְמָה׃chokh/MAwisdom

    Behold, the laws which ye have received from my hand are the laws of the church, and in this light ye shall hold them forth. Behold, here is wisdom.

    וְעַתָּהve/at/TAand nowכַּאֲשֶׁרka/a/SHERasדִּבַּרְתִּיdib/BAR/tiI spokeעַלalconcerningעַבְדִּיav/DImy servantאֶדְוָרְדEd/VARDEdwardפַּרְטְרִיג׳Par/te/RIGPartridgeהָאָרֶץha/A/retsthe landהַזֹּאתhaz/ZOTthisהִיאhiisאֶרֶץE/retsthe landמְגוּרָיוme/gu/RAYVof his residenceוְאֵלֶּהve/EL/leand thoseאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhomמִנָּהmin/NAhe appointedלְיוֹעֲצָיוle/yo/a/TSAYVfor his counselorsוְגַםve/GAMand alsoאֶרֶץE/retsthe landמְגוּרֵיme/gu/REof the residenceאֲשֶׁרa/SHERof him whomמִנִּיתִיוmin/ni/TIVI appointedלִשְׁמֹרlish/MORto keepאוֹצָרִי׃o/tsa/RImy storehouse

    And now, as I spake concerning my servant Edward Partridge, this land is the land of his residence, and those whom he has appointed for his counselors; and also the land of the residence of him whom I have appointed to keep my storehouse;

    לָכֵןla/KHENwhereforeיָבִיאוּya/VI/ulet them bringמִשְׁפְּחוֹתֵיהֶםmish/pe/cho/te/HEMtheir familiesלָאָרֶץla/A/retsto the landהַזֹּאתhaz/ZOTthisכַּאֲשֶׁרka/a/SHERasיִוָּעֲצוּyiv/va/a/TSUthey shall counselבֵּינֵיהֶםbe/ne/HEMbetween themselvesוּבֵינִי׃u/ve/NIand between me

    Wherefore, let them bring their families to this land, as they shall counsel between themselves and me.

    כִּיkiforהִנֵּהhin/NEbeholdלֹאloit is notנָכוֹןna/KHONmeetכִּיkithatאֲצַוֶּהa/tsav/VEI should commandבְּכׇלbe/KHOLin allדָּבָרda/VARthingsכִּיkiforהַנֶּאֱלָץhan/ne/e/LATShe that is compelledבְּכׇלbe/KHOLin allדָּבָרda/VARthingsעֶבֶדE/vedis a servantעָצֵלa/TSELslothfulהוּאhuthe sameוְלֹאve/LOand notחָכָםcha/KHAMwiseלָכֵןla/KHENwhereforeאֵינֶנּוּe/NEN/nuhe does notמְקַבֵּלme/kab/BELreceiveשָׂכָר׃sa/KHARreward

    For behold, it is not meet that I should command in all things; for he that is compelled in all things, the same is a slothful and not a wise servant; wherefore he receiveth no reward.

    אָמֵןa/MENverilyאֲנִיa/NIIאֹמֵרo/MERsayבְנֵיve/NEthe childrenאָדָםa/DAMof menיִשְׁקְדוּyish/ke/DUshould be anxiously engagedבְּדָבָרbe/da/VARin a causeטוֹבtovgoodוְיַעֲשׂוּve/ya/a/SUand let them doדְבָרִיםde/va/RIMthingsרַבִּיםrab/BIMmanyמֵרְצוֹנָםmer/tso/NAMof their willהַחׇפְשִׁיha/chof/SHIthe freeוְיָבִיאוּve/ya/VI/uand let them bring to passצְדָקָהtse/da/KArighteousnessרַבָּה׃rab/BAmuch

    Verily I say, men should be anxiously engaged in a good cause, and do many things of their own free will, and bring to pass much righteousness;

    כִּיkiforהַכֹּחַhak/KO/achthe powerבָּםbamis in themבִּהְיוֹתָםbih/yo/TAMin that they areפֹּעֲלִיםpo/a/LIMagentsלְעַצְמָםle/ats/MAMunto themselvesוּכְפִיu/khe/FIand inasmuchאֲשֶׁרa/SHERasיַעֲשׂוּya/a/SUdoבְנֵיve/NEthe childrenאָדָםa/DAMof menטוֹבtovgoodלֹאlonotיֹאבַדyo/VADshall they loseשְׂכָרָם׃se/kha/RAMtheir reward

    For the power is in them, wherein they are agents unto themselves. And inasmuch as men do good they shall in nowise lose their reward.

    אַךְakhbutהָאִישׁha/ISHthe manאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhoאֵינֶנּוּe/NEN/nudoes notעֹשֶׂהo/SEdoדָבָרda/VARanythingעַדaduntilאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthatיְצֻוֶּהye/tsuv/VEhe is commandedוּמְקַבֵּלu/me/kab/BELand receivesמִצְוָהmits/VAa commandmentבְּלֵבbe/LEVwith heartוָלֵבva/LEVdoubtfulוְשׁוֹמְרָהּve/shom/RAand keeps itבְּעַצְלוּתbe/ats/LUTwith slothfulnessיֶאְשַׁםye/SHAMis damnedהוּא׃huthe same

    But he that doeth not anything until he is commanded, and receiveth a commandment with doubtful heart, and keepeth it with slothfulness, the same is damned.

    מִיmiwhoאֲנִיa/NIam Iאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthatיָצַרְתִּיya/TSAR/timadeאָדָםa/DAMmanאָמַרa/MARsaysיְהוָהAdonaithe Lordכִּיkithatאֲנַקֶּהa/nak/KEI should hold guiltlessאֶת־אֲשֶׁרet-a/SHERhim whoלֹאlonotיִשְׁמַעyish/MAobeysמִצְוֹתָי׃mits/vo/TAYmy commandments

    Who am I that made man, saith the Lord, that will hold him guiltless that obeys not my commandments?

31. 31

    מִיmiwhoאֲנִיa/NIam Iאָמַרa/MARsaysיְהוָהAdonaithe Lordאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthatהִבְטַחְתִּיhiv/tach/TIpromisedוְלֹאve/LOand notקִיַּמְתִּי׃kiy/yam/TIfulfilled

    Who am I, saith the Lord, that have promised and have not fulfilled?

32. 32

    אֲנִיa/NIIמְצַוֶּהme/tsav/VEcommandוּבְנֵיu/ve/NEand the sonsאָדָםa/DAMof menאֵינָםe/NAMdo notשׁוֹמְעִיםshom/IMobeyאֲנִיa/NIIמְבַטֵּלme/vat/TELrevokeוְאֵינָםve/e/NAMand they do notמְקַבְּלִיםme/kab/be/LIMreceiveהַבְּרָכָה׃hab/be/ra/KHAthe blessing

    I command and men obey not; I revoke and they receive not the blessing.

    Then they say in their hearts: This is not the work of the Lord, for his promises are not fulfilled. But wo unto such, for their reward lurketh beneath, and not from above.

    And now I give unto you further directions concerning this land.

    חׇכְמָהchokh/MAwisdomבִיviis in meכִּיkithatעַבְדִּיav/DImy servantמַרְטִיןMar/TINMartinהֶרִיסHe/RISHarrisיִהְיֶהyih/YEshall beמוֹפֵתmo/FETan exampleלַכְּנֵסִיָּהlak/ke/ne/siy/YAunto the churchבְּהַנִּיחוֹbe/han/ni/CHOin layingכַּסְפּוֹkas/POhis moneysלִפְנֵיlif/NEbeforeפְּקִידpe/KIDthe bishopהַכְּנֵסִיָּה׃hak/ke/ne/siy/YAof the church

    It is wisdom in me that my servant Martin Harris should be an example unto the church, in laying his moneys before the bishop of the church.

36. 36

    וְגַםve/GAMand alsoזֶהzethis isחֹקchoka lawלְכׇלle/KHOLunto everyאִישׁishmanהַבָּאhab/BAthat comesלָאָרֶץla/A/retsto the landהַזֹּאתhaz/ZOTthisלְקַבֵּלle/kab/BELto receiveנַחֲלָהna/cha/LAan inheritanceוְיַעֲשֶׂהve/ya/a/SEand he shall doבְּכַסְפּוֹbe/khas/POwith his moneysכַּאֲשֶׁרka/a/SHERasמוֹרֶהmo/REdirectsהַחֹק׃ha/CHOKthe law

    And also, this is a law unto every man that cometh unto this land to receive an inheritance; and he shall do with his moneys according as the law directs.

37. 37

    וְגַםve/GAMand alsoחׇכְמָהchokh/MAwisdomהִיאhiit isאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthatתִּקָּנֶינָהtik/ka/ne/NAshould be purchasedאֲרָצוֹתa/ra/TSOTlandsבְּאִינְדִּיפֶּנְדֶּנְסbe/In/di/pen/DENSin Independenceלִמְקוֹםlim/KOMfor the placeהָאוֹצָרha/o/TSARof the storehouseוְגַםve/GAMand alsoלְבֵיתle/VETfor the houseהַדְּפוּס׃had/de/FUSof the printing

    And it is wisdom also that there should be lands purchased in Independence, for the place of the storehouse, and also for the house of the printing.

38. 38

    וְתוֹרֹתve/to/ROTand directionsאֲחֵרוֹתa/che/ROTotherעַלalconcerningעַבְדִּיav/DImy servantמַרְטִיןMar/TINMartinהֶרִיסHe/RISHarrisתִּנָּתַנָּהtin/na/tan/NAshall be givenלוֹlohimמִןminofהָרוּחַha/RU/achthe Spiritלְמַעַןle/MA/anthatיְקַבֵּלye/kab/BELhe may receiveנַחֲלָתוֹna/cha/la/TOhis inheritanceכַּטּוֹבkat/TOVas seems goodבְּעֵינָיו׃be/e/NAYVin his eyes

    And other directions concerning my servant Martin Harris shall be given him of the Spirit, that he may receive his inheritance as seemeth him good;

39. 39

    וְיָשׁוּבve/ya/SHUVand let him repentמֵחֲטָאָיוme/cha/ta/AYVof his sinsכִּיkiforמְבַקֵּשׁme/vak/KESHseeksהוּאhuheתְּהִלַּתte/hil/LATthe praiseהָעוֹלָם׃ha/o/LAMof the world

    And let him repent of his sins, for he seeketh the praise of the world.

40. 40

    וְגַםve/GAMand alsoעַבְדִּיav/DIlet my servantוִילְיָםVi/le/YAMWilliamו.vWפֶלְפְּסFEL/pesPhelpsיַעֲמֹדya/a/MODstandבַּמִּשְׂרָהbam/mis/RAin the officeאֲשֶׁרa/SHERto whichמִנִּיתִיוmin/ni/TIVI appointed himוִיקַבֵּלvi/kab/BELand receiveנַחֲלָתוֹna/cha/la/TOhis inheritanceבָּאָרֶץ׃ba/a/RETSin the land

    And also let my servant William W. Phelps stand in the office to which I have appointed him, and receive his inheritance in the land;

41. 41

    וְגַםve/GAMand alsoהוּאhuheעָלָיוa/LAYVhas needלָשׁוּבla/SHUVto repentכִּיkiforאֲנִיa/NIIיְהוָהAdonaithe Lordלֹאlonotחָפַצְתִּיcha/FATS/tiam well pleasedבוֹvowith himכִּיkiforמְבַקֵּשׁme/vak/KESHhe seeksלְהִתְגַּדֵּלle/hit/gad/DELto excelוְאֵינֶנּוּve/e/NEN/nuand he is notעָנָוa/NAVmeekדַּיּוֹday/YOsufficientlyלְפָנָי׃le/fa/NAYbefore me

    And also he hath need to repent, for I, the Lord, am not well pleased with him, for he seeketh to excel, and he is not sufficiently meek before me.

42. 42

    הִנֵּהhin/NEbeholdהַשָּׁבhash/SHAVhe who repentedמֵחֲטָאָיוme/cha/ta/AYVof his sinsנִסְלַחnis/LACHis forgivenלוֹloto himוַאֲנִיva/a/NIand IיְהוָהAdonaithe Lordאֵינֶנִּיe/NEN/nido notזוֹכְרָםzokh/RAMremember themעוֹד׃odany more

    Behold, he who has repented of his sins, the same is forgiven, and I, the Lord, remember them no more.

43. 43

    בָּזֹאתba/ZOTby thisתֵּדְעוּted/Uyou may knowאִםimifשָׁבshavrepentedאִישׁisha manמֵחֲטָאָיוme/cha/ta/AYVof his sinsהִנֵּהhin/NEbeholdיִתְוַדֶּהyit/vad/DEhe will confessעֲלֵיהֶםa/le/HEMthemוְיַעַזְבֵם׃ve/ya/az/VEMand forsake them

    By this ye may know if a man repenteth of his sins—behold, he will confess them and forsake them.

44. 44

    וְעַתָּהve/at/TAand nowאָמֵןa/MENverilyאֲנִיa/NIIאֹמֵרo/MERsayעַלalconcerningשְׁאָרshe/ARthe residueזִקְנֵיzik/NEof the eldersכְּנֵסִיָּתִיke/ne/siy/ya/TIof my churchעוֹדodyetלֹאlonotבָאvacameהָעֵתha/ETthe timeשָׁנִיםsha/NIMfor yearsרַבּוֹתrab/BOTmanyלְקַבֵּלle/kab/BELto receiveנַחֲלָתָםna/cha/la/TAMtheir inheritanceבָּאָרֶץba/A/retsin the landהַזֹּאתhaz/ZOTthisכִּי־אִםki-imexceptיַחְפְּצוּyach/pe/TSUthey desireבָהּvain itבִּתְפִלַּתbit/fil/LATthrough the prayerאֱמוּנָהe/mu/NAof faithרַקrakonlyכַּאֲשֶׁרka/a/SHERasיְמֻנֶּהye/mun/NEit shall be appointedלָהֶםla/HEMunto themמֵאֵתme/ETofיְהוָה׃Adonaithe Lord

    And now, verily, I say concerning the residue of the elders of my church, the time has not yet come, for many years, for them to receive their inheritance in this land, except they desire it through the prayer of faith, only as it shall be appointed unto them of the Lord.

45. 45

    כִּיkiforהִנֵּהhin/NEbeholdיְנַגְּחוּye/nag/ge/CHUthey shall pushהָעָםha/AMthe peopleיַחְדָּוyach/DAVtogetherמִקְצוֹתmik/TSOTfrom the endsהָאָרֶץ׃ha/a/RETSof the earth

    For, behold, they shall push the people together from the ends of the earth.

46. 46

    לָכֵןla/KHENwhereforeהֵאָסְפוּhe/a/se/FUassemble yourselvesיַחְדָּוyach/DAVtogetherוְאֵלֶּהve/EL/leand theyאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhoלֹאloare notמֻנּוּmun/NUappointedלְהִשָּׁאֵרle/hish/sha/ERto stayבָּאָרֶץba/A/retsin the landהַזֹּאתhaz/ZOTthisיִקְרְאוּyik/re/Ulet them preachהַבְּשׂוֹרָהhab/be/so/RAthe gospelבַּסְּבִיבוֹתbas/se/vi/VOTin the regions round aboutוְאַחֲרֵיve/a/cha/REand afterכֵןkhenthatיָשׁוּבוּya/SHU/vulet them returnלְבָתֵּיהֶם׃le/vat/te/HEMto their homes

    Wherefore, assemble yourselves together; and they who are not appointed to stay in this land, let them preach the gospel in the regions round about; and after that let them return to their homes.

47. 47

    יִקְרְאוּyik/re/Ulet them preachבַדֶּרֶךְvad/DE/rekhby the wayוְיָעִידוּve/ya/i/DUand bearעֵדוּתe/DUTthe testimonyהָאֱמֶתha/e/METof the truthבְּכׇלbe/KHOLin everyמָקוֹםma/KOMplaceוְיִקְרְאוּve/yik/re/Uand call uponלָעֲשִׁירִיםla/a/shi/RIMthe richוְלַגְּבוֹהִיםve/lag/ge/vo/HIMand the highוְלַשְּׁפָלִיםve/lash/she/fa/LIMand the lowוְלָעֲנִיִּיםve/la/a/niy/YIMand the poorלָשׁוּב׃la/SHUVto repent

    Let them preach by the way, and bear testimony of the truth in all places, and call upon the rich, the high and the low, and the poor to repent.

48. 48

    וְיָקִימוּve/ya/KI/muand let them build upכְּנֵסִיּוֹתke/ne/siy/YOTchurchesכְּפִיke/FIinasmuchאֲשֶׁרa/SHERasיָשׁוּבוּya/SHU/vushall repentיוֹשְׁבֵיyosh/VEthe inhabitantsהָאָרֶץ׃ha/a/RETSof the earth

    And let them build up churches, inasmuch as the inhabitants of the earth will repent.

49. 49

    וִימֻנֶּהvi/mun/NEand let be appointedסֹכֵןso/KHENan agentבְּקוֹלbe/KOLby the voiceהַכְּנֵסִיָּהhak/ke/ne/siy/YAof the churchלַכְּנֵסִיָּהlak/ke/ne/siy/YAunto the churchאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhich isבְּאוֹהָיוֹbe/O/ha/YOin Ohioלְקַבֵּלle/kab/BELto receiveכְּסָפִיםke/sa/FIMmoneysלִקְנוֹתlik/NOTto purchaseאֲרָצוֹתa/ra/TSOTlandsבְּצִיּוֹן׃be/Tsiy/YONin Zion

    And let there be an agent appointed by the voice of the church, unto the church in Ohio, to receive moneys to purchase lands in Zion.

50. 50

    וַאֲנִיva/a/NIand Iנוֹתֵןno/TENgiveלְעַבְדִּיle/av/DIunto my servantסִידְנִיSi/de/NISidneyרִיגְדּוֹןRig/DONRigdonמִצְוָהmits/VAa commandmentלִכְתֹּבlikh/TOVto writeצוּרַתtsu/RATa descriptionאֶרֶץE/retsof the landצִיּוֹןTsiy/YONof Zionוּדְבַרu/de/VARand the statementרְצוֹןre/TSONof the willאֱלֹהִיםe/lo/HIMof Godכַּאֲשֶׁרka/a/SHERasיִגָּלֶהyig/ga/LEit shall be made knownלוֹlounto himמִןminbyהָרוּחַ׃ha/RU/achthe Spirit

    And I give unto my servant Sidney Rigdon a commandment, that he shall write a description of the land of Zion, and a statement of the will of God, as it shall be made known by the Spirit unto him;

51. 51

    וְאִגֶּרֶתve/ig/GE/retand an epistleוּנְדָבָהu/ne/da/VAand a subscriptionלְהַגִּישׁle/hag/GISHto be presentedלְכׇלle/KHOLunto allהַכְּנֵסִיּוֹתhak/ke/ne/siy/YOTthe churchesלְהַשִּׂיגle/has/SIGto obtainכְּסָפִיםke/sa/FIMmoneysלָתֵתla/TETto be putבְּיַדbe/YADin the handהַפָּקִידhap/pa/KIDof the bishopלוֹloof himselfאוֹoorלַסֹּכֵןlas/so/KHENto the agentכַּטּוֹבkat/TOVas is goodבְּעֵינָיוbe/e/NAYVin his eyesאוֹoorכַאֲשֶׁרkha/a/SHERasיוֹרֶהyo/REhe shall directלִקְנוֹתlik/NOTto purchaseאֲרָצוֹתa/ra/TSOTlandsלְנַחֲלָהle/na/cha/LAfor an inheritanceלִבְנֵיliv/NEfor the childrenאֱלֹהִים׃e/lo/HIMof God

    And an epistle and subscription, to be presented unto all the churches to obtain moneys, to be put into the hands of the bishop, of himself or the agent, as seemeth him good or as he shall direct, to purchase lands for an inheritance for the children of God.

    For, behold, verily I say unto you, the Lord willeth that the disciples and the children of men should open their hearts, even to purchase this whole region of country, as soon as time will permit.

    הִנֵּהhin/NEbeholdפֹּהpohere isחׇכְמָהchokh/MAwisdomיַעֲשׂוּya/a/SUlet them doזֹאתzotthisפֶּןpenlestלֹאlonotיְקַבְּלוּye/kab/be/LUthey receiveנַחֲלָהna/cha/LAinheritanceכִּי־אִםki-imsaveבִּשְׁפֹךְbish/FOKHby the sheddingדָּם׃damof blood

    Behold, here is wisdom. Let them do this lest they receive none inheritance, save it be by the shedding of blood.

    וְעוֹדve/ODand againכְּפִיke/FIinasmuchאֲשֶׁרa/SHERasאֶרֶץE/retslandנִקְנְתָהnik/ne/TAis obtainedיִשָּׁלְחוּyish/sha/le/CHUlet be sent forthפֹּעֲלִיםpo/a/LIMworkmenמִכׇּלmik/KOLof allמִיןminkindsלָאָרֶץla/A/retsto the landהַזֹּאתhaz/ZOTthisלַעֲבֹדla/a/VODto laborלְמַעַןle/MA/anforקְדוֹשֵׁיke/do/SHEthe saintsאֱלֹהִים׃e/lo/HIMof God

    And again, inasmuch as there is land obtained, let there be workmen sent forth of all kinds unto this land, to labor for the saints of God.

55. 55

    יֵעָשׂוּye/a/SUlet be doneכׇלkholallהַדְּבָרִיםhad/de/va/RIMthe thingsהָאֵלֶּהha/EL/letheseבְּסֵדֶרbe/SE/derin orderוְיִוָּדְעוּve/yiv/va/de/Uand let be made knownזְכֻיּוֹתze/khuy/YOTthe privilegesהָאֲרָצוֹתha/a/ra/TSOTof the landsמֵעֵתme/ETfrom timeלְעֵתle/ETto timeבִּידֵיbi/DEby the handsהַפָּקִידhap/pa/KIDof the bishopאוֹoorסֹכֵןso/KHENthe agentהַכְּנֵסִיָּה׃hak/ke/ne/siy/YAof the church

    Let all these things be done in order; and let the privileges of the lands be made known from time to time, by the bishop or the agent of the church.

    וְאַלve/ALand let notתֵּעָשֶׂהte/a/SEbe doneמְלֶאכֶתme/LE/khetthe workהַקִּבּוּץhak/kib/BUTSof the gatheringבְּחִפָּזוֹןbe/chip/pa/ZONin hasteוְלֹאve/LOnorבִמְנוּסָהvim/nu/SAby flightכִּי־אִםki-imbutתֵעָשֶׂהte/a/SElet it be doneכַּאֲשֶׁרka/a/SHERasיִוָּעֲצוּyiv/va/a/TSUshall counselזִקְנֵיzik/NEthe eldersהַכְּנֵסִיָּהhak/ke/ne/siy/YAof the churchבַּמּוֹעֲדִיםbam/mo/a/DIMat the conferencesלְפִיle/FIaccording toהַדַּעַתhad/DA/atthe knowledgeאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhichיְקַבְּלוּye/kab/be/LUthey receiveמֵעֵתme/ETfrom timeלְעֵת׃le/ETto time

    And let the work of the gathering be not in haste, nor by flight; but let it be done as it shall be counseled by the elders of the church at the conferences, according to the knowledge which they receive from time to time.

57. 57

    וְעַבְדִּיve/av/DIand let my servantסִידְנִיSi/de/NISidneyרִיגְדּוֹןRig/DONRigdonיַקְדִּישׁyak/DISHconsecrateוְיַחֲנֹךְve/ya/cha/NOKHand dedicateהָאָרֶץha/A/retsthe landהַזֹּאתhaz/ZOTthisוּמְקוֹםu/me/KOMand the placeהַמִּקְדָּשׁham/mik/DASHof the templeלַיהוָה׃la-Adonaiunto the Lord

    And let my servant Sidney Rigdon consecrate and dedicate this land, and the spot for the temple, unto the Lord.

    And let a conference meeting be called; and after that let my servants Sidney Rigdon and Joseph Smith, Jun., return, and also Oliver Cowdery with them, to accomplish the residue of the work which I have appointed unto them in their own land, and the residue as shall be ruled by the conferences.

    And let no man return from this land except he bear record by the way, of that which he knows and most assuredly believes.

    אֲשֶׁרa/SHERthat whichנִתַּןnit/TANhas been bestowedלְצִיבָאle/Tsi/VAupon ZibaפֶּטֶרְסוֹןPe/ter/SONPetersonיֻקַּחyuk/KACHlet it be takenמִמֶּנּוּmim/MEN/nufrom himוְיַעֲמֹדve/ya/a/MODand let him standכְּחָבֵרke/cha/VERas a memberבַּכְּנֵסִיָּהbak/ke/ne/siy/YAin the churchוְיַעֲבֹדve/ya/a/VODand laborבְּיָדָיוbe/ya/DAYVwith his own handsעִםimwithהָאַחִיםha/a/CHIMthe brethrenעַדaduntilאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthatיִוָּסֶרyiv/VA/serhe is chastenedדַּיּוֹday/YOsufficientlyבְּעַדbe/ADforכׇּלkolallחֲטָאָיוcha/ta/AYVhis sinsכִּיkiforאֵינֶנּוּe/NEN/nuhe does notמִתְוַדֶּהmit/vad/DEconfessעֲלֵיהֶםa/le/HEMthemוְחוֹשֵׁבve/cho/SHEVand thinksלְהַסְתִּירָם׃le/has/ti/RAMto hide them

    Let that which has been bestowed upon Ziba Peterson be taken from him; and let him stand as a member in the church, and labor with his own hands, with the brethren, until he is sufficiently chastened for all his sins; for he confesseth them not, and he thinketh to hide them.

    Let the residue of the elders of this church, who are coming to this land, some of whom are exceedingly blessed even above measure, also hold a conference upon this land.

    And let my servant Edward Partridge direct the conference which shall be held by them.

    And let them also return, preaching the gospel by the way, bearing record of the things which are revealed unto them.

    כִּיkiforאָמֵןa/MENverilyיֵצֵאye/TSEmust go forthהַקּוֹלhak/KOLthe soundמִןminfromהַמָּקוֹםham/ma/KOMthe placeהַזֶּהhaz/ZEthisלְכׇל־הָעוֹלָםle/KHOL-ha/o/LAMinto all the worldוְעַדve/ADand untoקְצוֹתke/TSOTthe endsהָאָרֶץha/A/retsof the earthהַבְּשׂוֹרָהhab/be/so/RAthe gospelתִּקָּרֵאtik/ka/REmust be preachedלְכׇל־בְּרִיָּהle/KHOL-be/riy/YAunto every creatureוְאֹתוֹתve/o/TOTand signsיִלָּווּyil/la/VUshall followאֶל־הַמַּאֲמִינִים׃el-ham/ma/a/mi/NIMthem that believe

    For, verily, the sound must go forth from this place into all the world, and unto the uttermost parts of the earth—the gospel must be preached unto every creature, with signs following them that believe.

    וְהִנֵּהve/hin/NEand beholdבֶןVenthe Sonהָאָדָםha/A/DAMof Manבָּאbacomesאָמֵן׃a/MENAmen

    And behold the Son of Man cometh. Amen.
