   Now, behold, because of the thing which you, my servant Oliver Cowdery, have desired to know of me, I give unto you these words:

   Behold, I have manifested unto you, by my Spirit in many instances, that the things which you have written are true; wherefore you know that they are true.

   And if you know that they are true, behold, I give unto you a commandment, that you rely upon the things which are written;

   For in them are all things written concerning the foundation of my church, my gospel, and my rock.

   לָכֵןla/KHENwhereforeאִםimifתִּבְנֶהtiv/NEyou shall build upאֶת־כְּנֵסִיָּתִיet-ke/ne/siy/ya/TImy churchעַלaluponיְסוֹדye/SODthe foundationבְּשׂוֹרָתִיbe/so/ra/TIof my gospelוְצוּרִיve/tsu/RIand my rockשַׁעֲרֵיsha/a/REthe gatesשְׁאוֹלshe/OLof hellלֹאlonotיִגְבְּרוּyig/be/RUshall prevailעָלֶיךָ׃a/le/KHAagainst you

   Wherefore, if you shall build up my church, upon the foundation of my gospel and my rock, the gates of hell shall not prevail against you.

   הִנֵּהhin/NEbeholdתֵּבֵלte/VELthe worldבָּשֵׁלba/SHELis ripeningבְּעָוֹןbe/a/VONin iniquityוְהֵעוֹרve/he/ORand it must needs beיֵעוֹרוּye/O/ruthat are stirred upבְּנֵיbe/NEthe childrenהָאָדָםha/a/DAMof menלִתְשׁוּבָהlit/shu/VAunto repentanceגַּםgambothהַגּוֹיִםhag/Go/YIMthe Gentilesוְגַםve/GAMand alsoבֵּיתbetthe houseיִשְׂרָאֵל׃Yis/ra/ELof Israel

   Behold, the world is ripening in iniquity; and it must needs be that the children of men are stirred up unto repentance, both the Gentiles and also the house of Israel.

   Wherefore, as thou hast been baptized by the hands of my servant Joseph Smith, Jun., according to that which I have commanded him, he hath fulfilled the thing which I commanded him.

   And now, marvel not that I have called him unto mine own purpose, which purpose is known in me; wherefore, if he shall be diligent in keeping my commandments he shall be blessed unto eternal life; and his name is Joseph.

   And now, Oliver Cowdery, I speak unto you, and also unto David Whitmer, by the way of commandment; for, behold, I command all men everywhere to repent, and I speak unto you, even as unto Paul mine apostle, for you are called even with that same calling with which he was called.

    Remember the worth of souls is great in the sight of God;

    כִּיkiforהִנֵּהhin/NEbeholdיְהוָהAdonaithe LordגֹּאַלְכֶםGo/al/KHEMyour Redeemerמֵתmetsuffered deathבַּבָּשָׂרbab/ba/SARin the fleshוְעַל־כֵּןve/AL-kenwhereforeנָשָׂאna/SAhe sufferedמַכְאוֹבmakh/OVthe painכׇּל־אָדָםkol-a/DAMof all menלְמַעַןle/MA/anthatיָשׁוּבוּya/SHU/vumight repentכֻלָּםkhul/LAMall menוְיָבֹאוּve/ya/VO/uand comeאֵלָיו׃e/LAYVunto him

    For, behold, the Lord your Redeemer suffered death in the flesh; wherefore he suffered the pain of all men, that all men might repent and come unto him.

    וְהוּאve/HUand heקָםkamroseמִן־הַמֵּתִיםmin-ham/me/TIMagain from the deadלְמַעַןle/MA/anthatיְקָרֵבye/ka/REVhe might bringכׇּל־אָדָםkol-a/DAMall menאֵלָיוe/LAYVunto himאִםimifיָשׁוּבוּ׃ya/shu/VUthey repent

    And he hath risen again from the dead, that he might bring all men unto him, on conditions of repentance.

    וּמַה־גָּדוֹלu/MA-ga/DOLand how greatמְשׂוֹשׂוֹme/so/SOis his joyבַּנֶּפֶשׁban/NE/feshin the soulהַשָּׁבָה׃hash/sha/VAthat repents

    And how great is his joy in the soul that repenteth!

14. 14

    לָכֵןla/KHENwhereforeנִקְרֵאתֶםnik/re/TEMyou are calledלִקְרֹאlik/ROto cryתְשׁוּבָהte/shu/VArepentanceאֶל־הָעָםel-ha/AMunto peopleהַזֶּה׃haz/ZEthis

    Wherefore, you are called to cry repentance unto this people.

    וְאִםve/IMand ifתַּעַמְלוּta/am/LUyou should laborכׇּל־יְמֵיכֶםkol-ye/me/KHEMall your daysלִקְרֹאlik/ROin cryingתְשׁוּבָהte/shu/VArepentanceאֶל־הָעָםel-ha/AMunto peopleהַזֶּהhaz/ZEthisוַהֲבֵאתֶםva/ha/ve/TEMand bringרַקraksave it beנֶפֶשׁNE/feshsoulאַחַתa/CHAToneאֵלַיe/LAYunto meמַה־גָּדוֹלma-ga/DOLhow greatיִהְיֶהyih/YEshall beמְשׂוֹשְׂכֶםme/sos/KHEMyour joyעִמּוֹim/MOwith himבְּמַלְכוּתbe/mal/KHUTin the kingdomאָבִי׃A/VIof my Father

    And if it so be that you should labor all your days in crying repentance unto this people, and bring, save it be one soul unto me, how great shall be your joy with him in the kingdom of my Father!

16. 16

    וְעַתָּהve/at/TAand nowאִםimifיִגְדַּלyig/DALwill be greatמְשׂוֹשְׂכֶםme/sos/KHEMyour joyעַלalwithנֶפֶשׁNE/feshsoulאַחַתa/CHAToneאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthatהֲבֵאתֶםha/ve/TEMyou broughtאֵלַיe/LAYunto meאֶל־מַלְכוּתel-mal/KHUTinto the kingdomאָבִיA/VIof my Fatherמַה־גָּדוֹלma-ga/DOLhow greatיִהְיֶהyih/YEwill beמְשׂוֹשְׂכֶםme/sos/KHEMyour joyכִּיkiifתָבִיאוּta/VI/uyou should bringנְפָשׁוֹתne/fa/SHOTsoulsרַבּוֹתrab/BOTmanyאֵלָי׃e/LAYunto me

    And now, if your joy will be great with one soul that you have brought unto me into the kingdom of my Father, how great will be your joy if you should bring many souls unto me!

17. 17

    הִנֵּהhin/NEbeholdבְשׂוֹרָתִיve/so/ra/TImy gospelלִפְנֵיכֶםlif/ne/KHEMyou have before youוְצוּרִיve/tsu/RIand my rockוִישׁוּעָתִי׃vi/shu/a/TIand my salvation

    Behold, you have my gospel before you, and my rock, and my salvation.

    שַׁאֲלוּsha/a/LUaskאֶת־הָאָבet-Ha/AVthe Fatherבִּשְׁמִיbish/MIin my nameבֶּאֱמוּנָהbe/e/mu/NAin faithמַאֲמִינִיםma/a/mi/NIMbelievingכִּיkithatתְקַבְּלוּte/kab/be/LUyou shall receiveוּתְקַבְּלוּu/te/kab/be/LUand you shall haveאֶת־רוּחַ־הַקֹּדֶשׁet-RU/ach-hak/KO/deshthe Holy Ghostהַמְגַלֶּהham/gal/LEwhich manifestsכׇּל־דָּבָרkol-da/VARall thingsנָכוֹןna/KHONwhich are expedientלִבְנֵיliv/NEunto the childrenהָאָדָם׃ha/a/DAMof men

    Ask the Father in my name in faith, believing that you shall receive, and you shall have the Holy Ghost, which manifesteth all things which are expedient unto the children of men.

19. 19

    וְאִםve/IMand ifאֵין־לָכֶםen-la/KHEMyou have notאֱמוּנָהe/mu/NAfaithוְתִקְוָהve/tik/VAhopeוְחֶסֶדve/CHE/sedand charityלֹאlonotתוּכְלוּtukh/LUyou canלַעֲשׂוֹתla/a/SOTdoמְאוּמָה׃me/u/MAnothing

    And if you have not faith, hope, and charity, you can do nothing.

20. 20

    אַל־תָּרִיבוּal-ta/ri/VUcontend notעִםimwithכְּנֵסִיָּהke/ne/siy/YAa churchכִּי־אִםki-imsave it beכְּנֵסִיַּתke/ne/siy/YATthe churchהַשָּׂטָן׃has/sa/TANof the devil

    Contend against no church, save it be the church of the devil.

21. 21

    שְׂאוּse/Utakeעֲלֵיכֶםa/le/KHEMupon youאֶת־שֵׁםet-shemthe nameהַמָּשִׁיחַham/Ma/SHI/achof Christוְדַבְּרוּve/dab/be/RUand speakאֱמֶתe/METthe truthבְּיֹשֶׁר׃be/yo/SHERin soberness

    Take upon you the name of Christ, and speak the truth in soberness.

22. 22

    וְכֹלve/KHOLand as many asהַשָּׁבִיםhash/sha/VIMrepentוְהַנִּטְבָּלִיםve/han/nit/ba/LIMand are baptizedבִּשְׁמִיbish/MIin my nameהוּאhuwhich isיֵשׁוּעַYe/SHU/aJesusהַמָּשִׁיחַHam/ma/SHI/achChristוְהַמַּחֲזִיקִיםve/ham/ma/cha/zi/KIMand endureעַד־הַקֵּץad-hak/KETSto the endהֵםhemthe sameיִוָּשֵׁעוּ׃yiv/va/she/Ushall be saved

    And as many as repent and are baptized in my name, which is Jesus Christ, and endure to the end, the same shall be saved.

    הִנֵּהhin/NEbeholdיֵשׁוּעַYe/SHU/aJesusהַמָּשִׁיחַHam/ma/SHI/achChristהוּאhuisהַשֵּׁםhash/SHEMthe nameהַנָּתוּןhan/na/TUNwhich is givenמֵאֵתme/ETofהָאָבha/AVthe Fatherוְאֵיןve/ENand there is noneשֵׁםshemnameאַחֵרa/CHERotherנָתוּןna/TUNgivenאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwherebyבּוֹboby itיִוָּשַׁעyiv/va/SHAcan be savedאָדָם׃a/DAMman

    Behold, Jesus Christ is the name which is given of the Father, and there is none other name given whereby man can be saved;

    לָכֵןla/KHENwhereforeכׇּל־אָדָםkol-a/DAMall menיִשָּׂאyis/SAmust takeעָלָיוa/LAYVupon themאֶת־הַשֵּׁםet-hash/SHEMthe nameהַנָּתוּןhan/na/TUNwhich is givenמֵאֵתme/ETofהָאָבha/AVthe Fatherכִּיkiforבַשֵּׁםvash/SHEMin the nameהַהוּאha/HUthatיִקָּרֵאyik/ka/REshall they be calledבַּיּוֹםbay/YOMat the dayהָאַחֲרוֹן׃ha/a/cha/RONlast

    Wherefore, all men must take upon them the name which is given of the Father, for in that name shall they be called at the last day;

    וְלָכֵןve/la/KHENwhereforeאִםimifלֹאlonotיֵדְעוּyed/Uthey knowאֶת־הַשֵּׁםet-hash/SHEMthe nameאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhichבּוֹboby itנִקְרָאוּnik/RA/uthey are calledלֹאlonotיִהְיֶהyih/YEthere shall beלָהֶםla/HEMto themמָקוֹםma/KOMplaceבְּמַלְכוּתbe/mal/KHUTin the kingdomאָבִי׃A/VIof my Father

    Wherefore, if they know not the name by which they are called, they cannot have place in the kingdom of my Father.

26. 26

    וְעַתָּהve/at/TAand nowהִנֵּהhin/NEbeholdיֵשׁyeshthere areאֲחֵרִיםa/che/RIMothersהַנִּקְרָאִיםhan/nik/ra/IMwho are calledלְבַשֵּׂרle/vas/SERto declareאֶת־בְּשׂוֹרָתִיet-be/so/ra/TImy gospelגַּםgambothלַגּוֹיlag/GOYunto Gentileוְגַםve/GAMandלַיְּהוּדִי׃lay/Ye/hu/DIunto Jew

    And now, behold, there are others who are called to declare my gospel, both unto Gentile and unto Jew;

27. 27

    אָכֵןa/KHENyeaגַּםgamevenשְׁנֵים־עָשָׂרshe/NEM-a/SARtwelveוְהַשְּׁנֵים־עָשָׂרve/hash/She/NEM-a/SARand the Twelveיִהְיוּyih/YUshall beתַלְמִידַיtal/mi/DAYmy disciplesוְיִשְׂאוּve/yis/Uand they shall takeעֲלֵיהֶםa/le/HEMupon themאֶת־שְׁמִיet-she/MImy nameוְהַשְּׁנֵים־עָשָׂרve/hash/She/NEM-a/SARand the Twelveהֵםhemare theyהַחֲפֵצִיםha/cha/fe/TSIMwho shall desireלָשֵׂאתla/SETto take upon themאֶת־שְׁמִיet-she/MImy nameבְּכׇל־לִבָּם׃be/KHOL-lib/BAMwith full purpose of heart

    Yea, even twelve; and the Twelve shall be my disciples, and they shall take upon them my name; and the Twelve are they who shall desire to take upon them my name with full purpose of heart.

    וְאִםve/IMand ifיַחְפְּצוּyach/pe/TSUthey desireלָשֵׂאתla/SETto take upon themאֶת־שְׁמִיet-she/MImy nameבְּכׇל־לִבָּםbe/KHOL-lib/BAMwith full purpose of heartנִקְרָאִיםnik/ra/IMare calledהֵםhemtheyלָלֶכֶתla/LE/khetto goלְכׇל־הָעוֹלָםle/KHOL-ha/o/LAMinto all the worldלְבַשֵּׂרle/vas/SERto preachאֶת־בְּשׂוֹרָתִיet-be/so/ra/TImy gospelלְכׇל־בְּרִיָּה׃le/KHOL-be/riy/YAunto every creature

    And if they desire to take upon them my name with full purpose of heart, they are called to go into all the world to preach my gospel unto every creature.

    וְהֵםve/HEMand theyאֲשֶׁרa/SHERare they whoנִסְמְכוּnis/me/KHUare ordainedמִמֶּנִּיmim/MEN/niof meלְהַטְבִּילle/hat/BILto baptizeבִּשְׁמִיbish/MIin my nameכַּכָּתוּב׃kak/ka/TUVaccording to that which is written

    And they are they who are ordained of me to baptize in my name, according to that which is written;

30. 30

    וְהַכָּתוּבve/hak/ka/TUVand that which is writtenלִפְנֵיכֶםlif/ne/KHEMbefore youלָכֵןla/KHENwhereforeעֲשׂוּa/SUyou must performכַּדְּבָרִיםkad/de/va/RIMaccording to the wordsהַכְּתוּבִים׃hak/ke/tu/VIMwhich are written

    And you have that which is written before you; wherefore, you must perform it according to the words which are written.

    וְעַתָּהve/at/TAand nowאֲלֵיכֶםa/le/KHEMunto youאֲנִיa/NIIמְדַבֵּרme/dab/BERspeakהַשְּׁנֵים־עָשָׂרhash/She/NEM-a/SARthe Twelveהִנֵּהhin/NEbeholdדַּיdayis sufficientלָכֶםla/KHEMfor youחַסְדִּיchas/DImy graceהִתְהַלְּכוּhit/hal/le/KHUyou must walkלְפָנַיle/fa/NAYbefore meבְּתֹםbe/TOMuprightlyוְאַל־תֶּחֶטְאוּ׃ve/AL-te/chet/Uand sin not

    And now I speak unto you, the Twelve—Behold, my grace is sufficient for you; you must walk uprightly before me and sin not.

    וְהִנֵּהve/hin/NEand beholdאַתֶּםat/TEMyouאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhoנִסְמַכְתֶּםnis/makh/TEMwere ordainedמִמֶּנִּיmim/MEN/niof meלִסְמֹךְlis/MOKHto ordainכֹּהֲנִיםko/ha/NIMpriestsוּמוֹרִיםu/mo/RIMand teachersלְבַשֵּׂרle/vas/SERto declareאֶת־בְּשׂוֹרָתִיet-be/so/ra/TImy gospelכְּכֹחַke/KHO/achaccording to the powerרוּחַ־הַקֹּדֶשׁRU/ach-Hak/KO/deshof the Holy Ghostאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhichבָּכֶםba/KHEMis in youוְכִקְרִיאוֹתve/khik/ri/OTand according to the callingsוּמַתְּנוֹתu/mat/te/NOTand giftsאֱלֹהִיםe/lo/HIMof Godלָאָדָם׃la/a/DAMunto men

    And, behold, you are they who are ordained of me to ordain priests and teachers; to declare my gospel, according to the power of the Holy Ghost which is in you, and according to the callings and gifts of God unto men;

    And I, Jesus Christ, your Lord and your God, have spoken it.

    These words are not of men nor of man, but of me; wherefore, you shall testify they are of me and not of man;

    For it is my voice which speaketh them unto you; for they are given by my Spirit unto you, and by my power you can read them one to another; and save it were by my power you could not have them;

    לָכֵןla/KHENwhereforeתּוּכְלוּtukh/LUyou canלְהָעִידle/ha/IDtestifyכִּיkithatשְׁמַעְתֶּםshe/ma/TEMyou heardאֶת־קוֹלִיet-ko/LImy voiceוִידַעְתֶּםvi/da/TEMand knowאֶת־דְּבָרָי׃et-de/va/RAYmy words

    Wherefore, you can testify that you have heard my voice, and know my words.

37. 37

    וְעַתָּהve/at/TAand nowהִנֵּהhin/NEbeholdנֹתֵןno/TENgiveאֲנִיa/NIIלְךָle/KHAunto youאוֹלִיבֶרO/li/VEROliverקַאוּדְרִיKa/ud/RICowderyוְגַםve/GAMand alsoלְדָוִדle/Da/VIDunto DavidוִיטְמֵרVi/te/MERWhitmerלְבַקֵּשׁle/vak/KESHthat you shall search outאֶת־הַשְּׁנֵים־עָשָׂרet-Hash/she/NEM-a/SARthe Twelveאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhoיִהְיוּyih/YUthere shall beלָהֶםla/HEMto themהַחֲפָצִיםha/cha/fa/TSIMthe desiresאֲשֶׁרa/SHERof whichדִּבַּרְתִּי׃dib/bar/TII spoke

    And now, behold, I give unto you, Oliver Cowdery, and also unto David Whitmer, that you shall search out the Twelve, who shall have the desires of which I have spoken;

38. 38

    וּבַחֲפָצֵיהֶםu/va/cha/fa/tse/HEMand by their desiresוּבְמַעֲשֵׂיהֶםu/ve/ma/a/se/HEMand their worksתֵּדָעוּם׃te/da/UMyou shall know them

    And by their desires and their works you shall know them.

39. 39

    וּבְמׇצְאֲכֶםu/ve/mots/a/KHEMand when you foundאוֹתָםo/TAMthemהַרְאוּhar/Uyou shall showלָהֶםla/HEMthemאֶת־הַדְּבָרִיםet-had/de/va/RIMthe thingsהָאֵלֶּה׃ha/el/LEthese

    And when you have found them you shall show these things unto them.

40. 40

    וּנְפַלְתֶּםu/ne/fal/TEMand you shall fall downוְהִשְׁתַּחֲוִיתֶםve/hish/ta/cha/vi/TEMand worshipלָאָבla/AVthe Fatherבִּשְׁמִי׃bish/MIin my name

    And you shall fall down and worship the Father in my name.

41. 41

    וּקְרָאתֶםu/ke/ra/TEMand you must preachלְתֵבֵלle/te/VELunto the worldלֵאמֹרle/MORsayingשׁוּבוּSHU/vuyou must repentוְהִטָּבְלוּve/hit/ta/ve/LUand be baptizedבְּשֵׁםbe/SHEMin the nameיֵשׁוּעַYe/SHU/aof Jesusהַמָּשִׁיחַ׃Ham/ma/SHI/achChrist

    And you must preach unto the world, saying: You must repent and be baptized, in the name of Jesus Christ;

42. 42

    כִּיkiforכׇל־אָדָםkhol-a/DAMall menיָשׁוּבya/SHUVmust repentוְיִטָּבֵלve/yit/ta/VELand be baptizedלֹאlonotאֲנָשִׁיםa/na/SHIMmenבִּלְבָדbil/VADonlyכִּי־אִםki-imbutנָשִׁיםna/SHIMwomenוִילָדִיםvi/la/DIMand childrenאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhoהִגִּיעוּhig/GI/uarrivedלִשְׁנוֹתlish/NOTat the yearsדַּעַתDA/atof the knowledgeטוֹבtovof goodוָרָע׃va/RAand evil

    For all men must repent and be baptized, and not only men, but women, and children who have arrived at the years of accountability.

43. 43

    וְעַתָּהve/at/TAand nowאַחֲרֵיa/cha/REafter thatקַבֶּלְכֶםkab/bel/KHEMyou receivedאֶת־זֹאתet-zotthisשִׁמְרוּshim/RUyou must keepאֶת־מִצְוֹתַיet-mits/vo/TAYmy commandmentsבַּכֹּל׃bak/KOLin all things

    And now, after that you have received this, you must keep my commandments in all things;

44. 44

    וּבִידֵיכֶםu/vi/de/KHEMand by your handsאֶעֱשֶׂהe/e/SEI will workהַפְלֵאhaf/LEa marvelousוָפֶלֶאva/FE/leworkבִּבְנֵיbiv/NEamong the childrenהָאָדָםha/a/DAMof menלְהוֹכִיחַle/ho/KHI/achunto the convincingרַבִּיםrab/BIMof manyעַל־חַטֹּאתֵיהֶםal-chat/to/te/HEMof their sinsלְמַעַןle/MA/anthatיָשׁוּבוּya/SHU/vuthey may repentוְיָבֹאוּve/ya/VO/uand that they may comeאֶל־מַלְכוּתel-mal/KHUTunto the kingdomאָבִי׃A/VIof my Father

    And by your hands I will work a marvelous work among the children of men, unto the convincing of many of their sins, that they may come unto repentance, and that they may come unto the kingdom of my Father.

45. 45

    לָכֵןla/KHENwhereforeהַבְּרָכוֹתhab/be/ra/KHOTthe blessingsאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhichנֹתֵןno/TENgiveאֲנִיa/NIIלָכֶםla/KHEMunto youנַעֲלוֹתna/a/LOTare aboveמִכׇּל־דָּבָר׃mik/KOL-da/VARall things

    Wherefore, the blessings which I give unto you are above all things.

46. 46

    וְאַחֲרֵיve/a/cha/REand after thatקַבֶּלְכֶםkab/bel/KHEMyou receivedאֶת־זֹאתet-zotthisאִםimifלֹאlonotתִשְׁמְרוּtish/me/RUyou keepאֶת־מִצְוֹתַיet-mits/vo/TAYmy commandmentsלֹאlonotתִוָּשְׁעוּtiv/va/she/Uyou can be savedבְּמַלְכוּתbe/mal/KHUTin the kingdomאָבִי׃A/VIof my Father

    And after that you have received this, if you keep not my commandments you cannot be saved in the kingdom of my Father.

47. 47

    הִנֵּהhin/NEbeholdאֲנִיa/NIIיֵשׁוּעַYe/SHU/aJesusהַמָּשִׁיחַHam/ma/SHI/achChristאֲדוֹנֵיכֶםa/do/ne/KHEMyour Lordוֵאלֹהֵיכֶםve/lo/he/KHEMand your Godוְגֹאַלְכֶםve/Go/al/KHEMand your Redeemerבְּכֹחַbe/KHO/achby the powerרוּחִיRu/CHIof my Spiritדִּבַּרְתִּיdib/BAR/tispoke itאָמֵן׃a/MENAmen

    Behold, I, Jesus Christ, your Lord and your God, and your Redeemer, by the power of my Spirit have spoken it. Amen.
