    עַתָּהnowהִנֵּהbeholdבַּעֲבוּרbecause ofהַדָּבָרthe thingאֲשֶׁרwhichבִּקַּשְׁתָּyou have desiredלָדַעַתto knowמִמֶּנִּיof meעַבְדִּיmy servantאוֹלִיבֶרOliverקַאוּדְרִיCowderyנֹתֵןgiveאֲנִיIלְךָunto youאֶת־הַדְּבָרִיםthe wordsהָאֵלֶּה׃these

    Now, behold, because of the thing which you, my servant Oliver Cowdery, have desired to know of me, I give unto you these words:

    הִנֵּהbeholdגִּלִּיתִיI have manifestedלְךָunto youבְּרוּחִיby my Spiritפְּעָמִיםtimesרַבּוֹתmanyכִּיthatאֱמֶתtrueהַדְּבָרִיםthe thingsאֲשֶׁרwhichכָּתַבְתָּyou have writtenוְלָכֵןwhereforeיָדַעְתָּyou knowכִּיthatאֱמֶתtrueהֵם׃they are

    Behold, I have manifested unto you, by my Spirit in many instances, that the things which you have written are true; wherefore you know that they are true.

    וְאִםand ifיָדַעְתָּyou knowכִּיthatאֱמֶתtrueהֵםthey areהִנֵּהbeholdמְצַוְּךָcommanding youאָנֹכִיI amלְהִשָּׁעֵןthat you relyעַלuponהַדְּבָרִיםthe thingsהַכְּתוּבִים׃which are written

    And if you know that they are true, behold, I give unto you a commandment, that you rely upon the things which are written;

    כִּיforבָּהֶםin themכָּתוּבare writtenכׇּל־דְּבַרall things concerningיְסוֹדthe foundation ofכְּנֵסִיָּתִיmy churchוּבְשׂוֹרָתִיand my gospelוְצוּרִי׃and my rock

    For in them are all things written concerning the foundation of my church, my gospel, and my rock.

    לָכֵןwhereforeאִםifתִּבְנֶהyou shall build upאֶת־כְּנֵסִיָּתִיmy churchעַלuponיְסוֹדthe foundation ofבְּשׂוֹרָתִיmy gospelוְצוּרִיand my rockשַׁעֲרֵיthe gates ofשְׁאוֹלhellלֹאnotיִגְבְּרוּshall prevailעָלֶיךָ׃against you

    Wherefore, if you shall build up my church, upon the foundation of my gospel and my rock, the gates of hell shall not prevail against you.

    הִנֵּהbeholdתֵּבֵלthe worldבָּשֵׁלis ripeningבְּעָוֹןin iniquityוְהֵעוֹרand it must needs beיֵעוֹרוּthat are stirred upבְּנֵיthe children ofהָאָדָםmenלִתְשׁוּבָהunto repentanceגַּםbothהַגּוֹיִםthe Gentilesוְגַםand alsoבֵּיתthe house ofיִשְׂרָאֵל׃Israel

    Behold, the world is ripening in iniquity; and it must needs be that the children of men are stirred up unto repentance, both the Gentiles and also the house of Israel.

    לָכֵןwhereforeכִּיasנִטְבַּלְתָּyou have been baptizedבִּידֵיby the hands ofעַבְדִּיmy servantיוֹסֵףJosephסְמִיתSmithהַבֵּןJun.כַּאֲשֶׁרaccording to that whichצִוִּיתִיהוּI have commanded himוְהוּאheעָשָׂהhas fulfilledאֶת־אֲשֶׁרthe thing whichצִוִּיתִיו׃I commanded him

    Wherefore, as thou hast been baptized by the hands of my servant Joseph Smith, Jun., according to that which I have commanded him, he hath fulfilled the thing which I commanded him.

    וְעַתָּהand nowאַל־יִפָּלֵאmarvel notבְעֵינֶיךָin your eyesכִּיthatקְרָאתִיוI have called himלְחֶפְצִיunto my own purposeוְהַחֵפֶץwhich purposeיָדוּעַis knownלִיin meלָכֵןwhereforeאִםifיִשְׁקֹדhe shall be diligentלִשְׁמֹרin keepingמִצְוֹתַיmy commandmentsיְבֹרַךְhe shall be blessedלְחַיֵּיunto lifeעוֹלָםeternalוּשְׁמוֹand his nameיוֹסֵף׃is Joseph

    And now, marvel not that I have called him unto mine own purpose, which purpose is known in me; wherefore, if he shall be diligent in keeping my commandments he shall be blessed unto eternal life; and his name is Joseph.

    וְעַתָּהand nowאוֹלִיבֶרOliverקַאוּדְרִיCowderyאֵלֶיךָunto youאֲנִיIמְדַבֵּרspeakוְגַםand alsoאֶל־דָּוִדunto DavidוִיטְמֵרWhitmerבְּדֶרֶךְby the way ofמִצְוָהcommandmentכִּיforהִנֵּהbeholdמְצַוֶּהI commandאָנֹכִיI amאֶת־כׇּל־אָדָםall menבְּכׇל־מָקוֹםeverywhereלָשׁוּבto repentוַאֲדַבֵּרand I speakאֲלֵיכֶםunto youכַּאֲשֶׁרeven asדִּבַּרְתִּיI spokeאֶל־פַּוְלוּסunto Paulשְׁלִיחִיmine apostleכִּיforנִקְרֵאתֶםyou are calledבַּקְּרִיאָהeven with callingהַהִיאthat sameאֲשֶׁרwhichבָּהּwithנִקְרָא׃he was called

    And now, Oliver Cowdery, I speak unto you, and also unto David Whitmer, by the way of commandment; for, behold, I command all men everywhere to repent, and I speak unto you, even as unto Paul mine apostle, for you are called even with that same calling with which he was called.

    זִכְרוּrememberכִּיthatיְקַרthe worth ofנֶפֶשׁsoulsגָּדוֹלis greatבְּעֵינֵיin the sight ofאֱלֹהִים׃God

    Remember the worth of souls is great in the sight of God;

  11. 11

    כִּיforהִנֵּהbeholdיְהוָהthe Lordגֹּאַלְכֶםyour Redeemerמֵתsuffered deathבַּבָּשָׂרin the fleshוְעַל־כֵּןwhereforeנָשָׂאhe sufferedמַכְאוֹבthe pain ofכׇּל־אָדָםall menלְמַעַןthatיָשׁוּבוּmight repentכֻלָּםall menוְיָבֹאוּand comeאֵלָיו׃unto him

    For, behold, the Lord your Redeemer suffered death in the flesh; wherefore he suffered the pain of all men, that all men might repent and come unto him.

    וְהוּאand heקָםhas risenמִן־הַמֵּתִיםagain from the deadלְמַעַןthatיְקָרֵבhe might bringכׇּל־אָדָםall menאֵלָיוunto himאִםifיָשׁוּבוּ׃they repent

    And he hath risen again from the dead, that he might bring all men unto him, on conditions of repentance.

    וּמַה־גָּדוֹלand how greatמְשׂוֹשׂוֹis his joyבַּנֶּפֶשׁin the soulהַשָּׁבָה׃that repents

    And how great is his joy in the soul that repenteth!

  14. 14

    לָכֵןwhereforeנִקְרֵאתֶםyou are calledלִקְרֹאto cryתְשׁוּבָהrepentanceאֶל־הָעָםunto peopleהַזֶּה׃this

    Wherefore, you are called to cry repentance unto this people.

  15. 15

    וְאִםand ifתַּעַמְלוּyou should laborכׇּל־יְמֵיכֶםall your daysלִקְרֹאin cryingתְשׁוּבָהrepentanceאֶל־הָעָםunto peopleהַזֶּהthisוַהֲבֵאתֶםand bringרַקsave it beנֶפֶשׁsoulאַחַתoneאֵלַיunto meמַה־גָּדוֹלhow greatיִהְיֶהshall beמְשׂוֹשְׂכֶםyour joyעִמּוֹwith himבְּמַלְכוּתin the kingdom ofאָבִי׃my Father

    And if it so be that you should labor all your days in crying repentance unto this people, and bring, save it be one soul unto me, how great shall be your joy with him in the kingdom of my Father!

    וְעַתָּהand nowאִםifיִגְדַּלwill be greatמְשׂוֹשְׂכֶםyour joyעַלwithנֶפֶשׁsoulאַחַתoneאֲשֶׁרthatהֲבֵאתֶםyou have broughtאֵלַיunto meאֶל־מַלְכוּתinto the kingdom ofאָבִיmy Fatherמַה־גָּדוֹלhow greatיִהְיֶהwill beמְשׂוֹשְׂכֶםyour joyכִּיifתָבִיאוּyou should bringנְפָשׁוֹתsoulsרַבּוֹתmanyאֵלָי׃unto me

    And now, if your joy will be great with one soul that you have brought unto me into the kingdom of my Father, how great will be your joy if you should bring many souls unto me!

  17. 17

    הִנֵּהbeholdבְשׂוֹרָתִיmy gospelלִפְנֵיכֶםyou have before youוְצוּרִיand my rockוִישׁוּעָתִי׃and my salvation

    Behold, you have my gospel before you, and my rock, and my salvation.

  18. 18

    שַׁאֲלוּaskאֶת־הָאָבthe Fatherבִּשְׁמִיin my nameבֶּאֱמוּנָהin faithמַאֲמִינִיםbelievingכִּיthatתְקַבְּלוּyou shall receiveוּתְקַבְּלוּand you shall haveאֶת־רוּחַ־הַקֹּדֶשׁthe Holy Ghostהַמְגַלֶּהwhich manifestsכׇּל־דָּבָרall thingsנָכוֹןwhich are expedientלִבְנֵיunto the children ofהָאָדָם׃men

    Ask the Father in my name in faith, believing that you shall receive, and you shall have the Holy Ghost, which manifesteth all things which are expedient unto the children of men.

  19. 19

    וְאִםand ifאֵין־לָכֶםyou have notאֱמוּנָהfaithוְתִקְוָהhopeוְחֶסֶדand charityלֹאnotתוּכְלוּyou canלַעֲשׂוֹתdoמְאוּמָה׃nothing

    And if you have not faith, hope, and charity, you can do nothing.

  20. 20

    אַל־תָּרִיבוּcontend notעִםwithכְּנֵסִיָּהa churchכִּי־אִםsave it beכְּנֵסִיַּתthe church ofהַשָּׂטָן׃the devil

    Contend against no church, save it be the church of the devil.

  21. 21

    שְׂאוּtakeעֲלֵיכֶםupon youאֶת־שֵׁםthe name ofהַמָּשִׁיחַChristוְדַבְּרוּand speakאֱמֶתthe truthבְּיֹשֶׁר׃in soberness

    Take upon you the name of Christ, and speak the truth in soberness.

  22. 22

    וְכֹלand as many asהַשָּׁבִיםrepentוְהַנִּטְבָּלִיםand are baptizedבִּשְׁמִיin my nameהוּאwhich isיֵשׁוּעַJesusהַמָּשִׁיחַChristוְהַמַּחֲזִיקִיםand endureעַד־הַקֵּץto the endהֵםthe sameיִוָּשֵׁעוּ׃shall be saved

    And as many as repent and are baptized in my name, which is Jesus Christ, and endure to the end, the same shall be saved.

    הִנֵּהbeholdיֵשׁוּעַJesusהַמָּשִׁיחַChristהוּאisהַשֵּׁםthe nameהַנָּתוּןwhich is givenמֵאֵתofהָאָבthe Fatherוְאֵיןand there is noneשֵׁםnameאַחֵרotherנָתוּןgivenאֲשֶׁרwherebyבּוֹby itיִוָּשַׁעcan be savedאָדָם׃man

    Behold, Jesus Christ is the name which is given of the Father, and there is none other name given whereby man can be saved;

    לָכֵןwhereforeכׇּל־אָדָםall menיִשָּׂאmust takeעָלָיוupon themאֶת־הַשֵּׁםthe nameהַנָּתוּןwhich is givenמֵאֵתofהָאָבthe Fatherכִּיforבַשֵּׁםin the nameהַהוּאthatיִקָּרֵאshall they be calledבַּיּוֹםat the dayהָאַחֲרוֹן׃last

    Wherefore, all men must take upon them the name which is given of the Father, for in that name shall they be called at the last day;

  25. 25

    וְלָכֵןwhereforeאִםifלֹאnotיֵדְעוּthey knowאֶת־הַשֵּׁםthe nameאֲשֶׁרwhichבּוֹby itנִקְרָאוּthey are calledלֹאnotיִהְיֶהthere shall beלָהֶםto themמָקוֹםplaceבְּמַלְכוּתin the kingdom ofאָבִי׃my Father

    Wherefore, if they know not the name by which they are called, they cannot have place in the kingdom of my Father.

  26. 26

    וְעַתָּהand nowהִנֵּהbeholdיֵשׁthere areאֲחֵרִיםothersהַנִּקְרָאִיםwho are calledלְבַשֵּׂרto declareאֶת־בְּשׂוֹרָתִיmy gospelגַּםbothלַגּוֹיunto Gentileוְגַםandלַיְּהוּדִי׃unto Jew

    And now, behold, there are others who are called to declare my gospel, both unto Gentile and unto Jew;

  27. 27

    אָכֵןyeaגַּםevenשְׁנֵים־עָשָׂרtwelveוְהַשְּׁנֵים־עָשָׂרand the Twelveיִהְיוּshall beתַלְמִידַיmy disciplesוְיִשְׂאוּand they shall takeעֲלֵיהֶםupon themאֶת־שְׁמִיmy nameוְהַשְּׁנֵים־עָשָׂרand the Twelveהֵםare theyהַחֲפֵצִיםwho shall desireלָשֵׂאתto take upon themאֶת־שְׁמִיmy nameבְּכׇל־לִבָּם׃with full purpose of heart

    Yea, even twelve; and the Twelve shall be my disciples, and they shall take upon them my name; and the Twelve are they who shall desire to take upon them my name with full purpose of heart.

  28. 28

    וְאִםand ifיַחְפְּצוּthey desireלָשֵׂאתto take upon themאֶת־שְׁמִיmy nameבְּכׇל־לִבָּםwith full purpose of heartנִקְרָאִיםthey are calledהֵםthey areלָלֶכֶתto goלְכׇל־הָעוֹלָםinto all the worldלְבַשֵּׂרto preachאֶת־בְּשׂוֹרָתִיmy gospelלְכׇל־בְּרִיָּה׃unto every creature

    And if they desire to take upon them my name with full purpose of heart, they are called to go into all the world to preach my gospel unto every creature.

    וְהֵםand theyאֲשֶׁרare they whoנִסְמְכוּare ordainedמִמֶּנִּיof meלְהַטְבִּילto baptizeבִּשְׁמִיin my nameכַּכָּתוּב׃according to that which is written

    And they are they who are ordained of me to baptize in my name, according to that which is written;

  30. 30

    וְהַכָּתוּבand that which is writtenלִפְנֵיכֶםbefore youלָכֵןwhereforeעֲשׂוּyou must perform itכַּדְּבָרִיםaccording to the wordsהַכְּתוּבִים׃which are written

    And you have that which is written before you; wherefore, you must perform it according to the words which are written.

  31. 31

    וְעַתָּהand nowאֲלֵיכֶםunto youאֲנִיIמְדַבֵּרspeakהַשְּׁנֵים־עָשָׂרthe Twelveהִנֵּהbeholdדַּיis sufficientלָכֶםfor youחַסְדִּיmy graceהִתְהַלְּכוּyou must walkלְפָנַיbefore meבְּתֹםuprightlyוְאַל־תֶּחֶטְאוּ׃and sin not

    And now I speak unto you, the Twelve—Behold, my grace is sufficient for you; you must walk uprightly before me and sin not.

  32. 32

    וְהִנֵּהand beholdאַתֶּםyouאֲשֶׁרwhoנִסְמַכְתֶּםwere ordainedמִמֶּנִּיof meלִסְמֹךְto ordainכֹּהֲנִיםpriestsוּמוֹרִיםand teachersלְבַשֵּׂרto declareאֶת־בְּשׂוֹרָתִיmy gospelכְּכֹחַaccording to the power ofרוּחַ־הַקֹּדֶשׁthe Holy Ghostאֲשֶׁרwhichבָּכֶםis in youוּכִקְרִיאוֹתand according to the callingsוּמַתְּנוֹתand gifts ofאֱלֹהִיםGodלָאָדָם׃unto men

    And, behold, you are they who are ordained of me to ordain priests and teachers; to declare my gospel, according to the power of the Holy Ghost which is in you, and according to the callings and gifts of God unto men;

    וַאֲנִיand IיֵשׁוּעַJesusהַמָּשִׁיחַChristאֲדוֹנֵיכֶםyour Lordוֵאלֹהֵיכֶםand your Godדִּבַּרְתִּי׃have spoken it

    And I, Jesus Christ, your Lord and your God, have spoken it.

  34. 34

    הַדְּבָרִיםthe wordsהָאֵלֶּהtheseלֹאare notמֵאֲנָשִׁיםof menוְלֹאnorמֵאִישׁof manכִּי־אִםbutמִמֶּנִּיof meלָכֵןwhereforeהָעִידוּyou shall testifyכִּיthatמִמֶּנִּיof meהֵםthey areוְלֹאand notמֵאָדָם׃of man

    These words are not of men nor of man, but of me; wherefore, you shall testify they are of me and not of man;

  35. 35

    כִּיforקוֹלִיmy voiceהוּאit isהַמְדַבֵּרwhich speaksאוֹתָםthemאֲלֵיכֶםunto youכִּיforבְּרוּחִיby my Spiritנִתְּנוּthey are givenוּבְכֹחִיand by my powerתִּקְרְאוּםyou can read themאִישׁeach oneלְרֵעֵהוּone to anotherוְלוּלֵאand save it were byכֹחִיmy powerלֹאnotהָיוּthey would beלָכֶם׃to you

    For it is my voice which speaketh them unto you; for they are given by my Spirit unto you, and by my power you can read them one to another; and save it were by my power you could not have them;

  36. 36

    לָכֵןwhereforeתּוּכְלוּyou canלְהָעִידtestifyכִּיthatשְׁמַעְתֶּםyou have heardאֶת־קוֹלִיmy voiceוִידַעְתֶּםand knowאֶת־דְּבָרָי׃my words

    Wherefore, you can testify that you have heard my voice, and know my words.

  37. 37

    וְעַתָּהand nowהִנֵּהbeholdנֹתֵןgiveאֲנִיIלְךָunto youאוֹלִיבֶרOliverקַאוּדְרִיCowderyוְגַםand alsoלְדָוִדunto DavidוִיטְמֵרWhitmerלְבַקֵּשׁthat you shall search outאֶת־הַשְּׁנֵים־עָשָׂרthe Twelveאֲשֶׁרwhoיִהְיוּthere shall beלָהֶםto themהַחֲפָצִיםthe desiresאֲשֶׁרof whichדִּבַּרְתִּי׃I have spoken

    And now, behold, I give unto you, Oliver Cowdery, and also unto David Whitmer, that you shall search out the Twelve, who shall have the desires of which I have spoken;

  38. 38

    וּבַחֲפָצֵיהֶםand by their desiresוּבְמַעֲשֵׂיהֶםand their worksתֵּדָעוּם׃you shall know them

    And by their desires and their works you shall know them.

  39. 39

    וּבְמָצְאֲכֶםand when you have foundאוֹתָםthemהַרְאוּyou shall showלָהֶםunto themאֶת־הַדְּבָרִיםthe thingsהָאֵלֶּה׃these

    And when you have found them you shall show these things unto them.

  40. 40

    וּנְפַלְתֶּםand you shall fall downוְהִשְׁתַּחֲוִיתֶםand worshipלָאָבthe Fatherבִּשְׁמִי׃in my name

    And you shall fall down and worship the Father in my name.

  41. 41

    וּקְרָאתֶםand you must preachלְתֵבֵלunto the worldלֵאמֹרsayingשׁוּבוּyou must repentוְהִטָּבְלוּand be baptizedבְּשֵׁםin the name ofיֵשׁוּעַJesusהַמָּשִׁיחַ׃Christ

    And you must preach unto the world, saying: You must repent and be baptized, in the name of Jesus Christ;

  42. 42

    כִּיforכׇל־אָדָםall menיָשׁוּבmust repentוְיִטָּבֵלand be baptizedלֹאand notאֲנָשִׁיםmenבִּלְבָדonlyכִּי־אִםbutנָשִׁיםwomenוִילָדִיםand childrenאֲשֶׁרwhoהִגִּיעוּhave arrivedלִשְׁנוֹתat the years ofדַּעַתthe knowledge ofטוֹבgoodוָרָע׃and evil

    For all men must repent and be baptized, and not only men, but women, and children who have arrived at the years of accountability.

  43. 43

    וְעַתָּהand nowאַחֲרֵיafter thatקַבֶּלְכֶםyou have receivedאֶת־זֹאתthisשִׁמְרוּyou must keepאֶת־מִצְוֹתַיmy commandmentsבַּכֹּל׃in all things

    And now, after that you have received this, you must keep my commandments in all things;

    וּבִידֵיכֶםand by your handsאֶעֱשֶׂהI will workהַפְלֵאa marvelousוָפֶלֶאworkבִּבְנֵיamong the children ofהָאָדָםmenלְהוֹכִיחַunto the convincing ofרַבִּיםmanyעַל־חַטֹּאתֵיהֶםof their sinsלְמַעַןthatיָשׁוּבוּthey may repentוְיָבֹאוּand that they may comeאֶל־מַלְכוּתunto the kingdom ofאָבִי׃my Father

    And by your hands I will work a marvelous work among the children of men, unto the convincing of many of their sins, that they may come unto repentance, and that they may come unto the kingdom of my Father.

  45. 45

    לָכֵןwhereforeהַבְּרָכוֹתthe blessingsאֲשֶׁרwhichנֹתֵןgiveאֲנִיIלָכֶםunto youנַעֲלוֹתare aboveמִכׇּל־דָּבָר׃all things

    Wherefore, the blessings which I give unto you are above all things.

  46. 46

    וְאַחֲרֵיand after thatקַבֶּלְכֶםyou have receivedאֶת־זֹאתthisאִםifלֹאnotתִשְׁמְרוּyou keepאֶת־מִצְוֹתַיmy commandmentsלֹאnotתִוָּשְׁעוּyou cannot be savedבְּמַלְכוּתin the kingdom ofאָבִי׃my Father

    And after that you have received this, if you keep not my commandments you cannot be saved in the kingdom of my Father.

  47. 47

    הִנֵּהbeholdאֲנִיIיֵשׁוּעַJesusהַמָּשִׁיחַChristאֲדוֹנֵיכֶםyour Lordוֵאלֹהֵיכֶםand your Godוְגֹאַלְכֶםand your Redeemerבְּכֹחַby the power ofרוּחִיmy Spiritדִּבַּרְתִּיhave spoken itאָמֵן׃Amen

    Behold, I, Jesus Christ, your Lord and your God, and your Redeemer, by the power of my Spirit have spoken it. Amen.
