   And now, my son, I have somewhat more to say unto thee than what I said unto thy brother; for behold, have ye not observed the steadiness of thy brother, his faithfulness, and his diligence in keeping the commandments of God? Behold, has he not set a good example for thee?

   For thou didst not give so much heed unto my words as did thy brother, among the people of the Zoramites. Now this is what I have against thee; thou didst go on unto boasting in thy strength and thy wisdom.

   וְלֹאve/LOand notזֹאתzotthisלְבַדle/VADaloneבְּנִיbe/NImy sonעָשִׂיתָa/SI/tayou didאֶת־הָרַעet-ha/RAthe evilבְּעֵינַיbe/e/NAYin my eyesכִּיkiforעָזַבְתָּa/ZAV/tayou forsookאֶת־הָעֲבוֹדָהet-ha/a/vo/DAthe ministryוַתֵּלֶךְvat/TE/lekhand went overאֶל־אֶרֶץel-E/retsinto the landסִירוֹןSI/ronof Sironעַל־גְּבוּלal-ge/VULamong the bordersהַלָּמָנִיםhal/La/ma/NIMof the Lamanitesאַחֲרֵיa/cha/REafterהַזּוֹנָהhaz/zo/NAthe harlotאִיזָבֶל׃I/ZA/velIsabel

   And this is not all, my son. Thou didst do that which was grievous unto me; for thou didst forsake the ministry, and did go over into the land of Siron among the borders of the Lamanites, after the harlot Isabel.

   הֵןhenyeaגָּנְבָהga/ne/VAshe stole awayאֶת־לֵבet-levthe heartsרַבִּיםrab/BIMof manyאַךְakhbutבָּזֶהba/ZEin thisלֹאlonotתִצְטַדֵּקtits/tad/DEKshall you be justifiedלְךָle/KHAfor youבְּנִיbe/NImy sonהָיָהha/YAyou shouldעָלֶיךָa/LE/khahaveלִשְׁמֹרlish/MORtendedאֶת־הָעֲבוֹדָהet-ha/a/vo/DAthe ministryאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwherewithהׇפְקְדָהhof/ke/DAwas entrustedבְּיָדֶךָ׃be/ya/DE/khainto your hand

   Yea, she did steal away the hearts of many; but this was no excuse for thee, my son. Thou shouldst have tended to the ministry wherewith thou wast entrusted.

   הֲלוֹאha/LOdo you notיָדַעְתָּya/DA/taknowבְּנִיbe/NImy sonכִּיkithatהַדְּבָרִיםhad/de/va/RIMthe thingsהָאֵלֶּהha/EL/letheseתּוֹעֵבָהto/e/VAan abominationהֵםhemareבְּעֵינֵיbe/e/NEin the sightיְהוָהAdonaiof Adonaiאַףafyeaמְתֹעָבִיםme/to/a/VIMabominableהֵםhemare theyמִכׇּלmik/KOLabove allהַחֲטָאִיםha/cha/ta/IMsinsזוּלָתִיzu/la/TIsaveשְׁפֹךְshe/FOKHthe sheddingדָּםdamof bloodנָקִיna/KIinnocentאוֹoorכַּחֵשׁka/CHESHdenyingבְּרוּחַ־הַקֹּדֶשׁ׃be/RU/ach-hak/KO/deshthe Holy Ghost

   Know ye not, my son, that these things are an abomination in the sight of the Lord; yea, most abominable above all sins save it be the shedding of innocent blood or denying the Holy Ghost?

   For behold, if ye deny the Holy Ghost when it once has had place in you, and ye know that ye deny it, behold, this is a sin which is unpardonable; yea, and whosoever murdereth against the light and knowledge of God, it is not easy for him to obtain forgiveness; yea, I say unto you, my son, that it is not easy for him to obtain a forgiveness.

   וְעַתָּהve/at/TAand nowבְּנִיbe/NImy sonלוּluI wouldלֵאלֹהִיםle/lo/HIMto Godלֹאlothat notהָיִיתָha/YI/tayou had beenאָשֵׁםa/SHEMguiltyבְּפֶשַׁעbe/FE/shaof a crimeגָּדוֹלga/DOLgreatכָּזֶהka/ZEsuchלֹאlonotהָיִיתִיha/YI/tiI would beמַזְכִּירmaz/KIRrecallingאֶת־פְּשָׁעֶיךָet-pe/sha/E/khayour crimesלַחֲרֹשׁla/cha/ROSHto harrow upאֶת־נַפְשְׁךָet-naf/she/KHAyour soulלוּלֵאlu/LEif notהָיָהha/YAit wereלְטוֹבָתְךָ׃le/to/va/te/KHAfor your good

   And now, my son, I would to God that ye had not been guilty of so great a crime. I would not dwell upon your crimes, to harrow up your soul, if it were not for your good.

   אַךְakhbutהִנֵּהhin/NEbeholdלֹא־תוּכַלlo-tu/KHALyou cannotלְהַסְתִּירle/has/TIRhideאֶת־פְּשָׁעֶיךָet-pe/sha/E/khayour crimesמֵאֱלֹהִיםme/e/lo/HIMfrom Godוְאִם־לֹאve/IM-loand if notתָשׁוּבta/SHUVyou repentיַעַמְדוּya/am/DUthey will standלְעֵדוּתle/e/DUTas a testimonyנֶגְדְּךָneg/de/KHAagainst youבַּיּוֹםbay/YOMat the dayהָאַחֲרוֹן׃ha/a/cha/RONthe last

   But behold, ye cannot hide your crimes from God; and except ye repent they will stand as a testimony against you at the last day.

   וְעַתָּהve/at/TAnowבְּנִיbe/NImy sonחָפַצְתִּיcha/FATS/tiI wouldכִּי־תָשׁוּבki-ta/SHUVthat you should repentוְתַעֲזֹבve/ta/a/ZOVand forsakeאֶת־חַטֹּאתֶיךָet-chat/to/te/KHAyour sinsוְלֹאve/LOand notתֵלֵךְte/LEKHgoעוֹדodany moreאַחֲרֵיa/cha/REafterתַאֲוַתta/a/VATthe lustsעֵינֶיךָe/NE/khaof your eyesאַךְakhbutתִּגְדֹּרtig/DORcrossאֶת־נַפְשְׁךָet-naf/she/KHAyourselfמִכׇּלmik/KOLfrom allהַדְּבָרִיםhad/de/va/RIMthe thingsהָאֵלֶּהha/EL/letheseכִּי־אִםki-imfor ifלֹא־תַעֲשֶׂהlo-ta/a/SEyou do notזֹאתzotthisלֹא־תוּכַלlo-tu/KHALyou cannotלָרֶשֶׁתla/RE/shetinheritאֶת־מַלְכוּתet-mal/KHUTthe kingdomהָאֱלֹהִיםha/e/lo/HIMof Godהוֹיhoyohזְכֹרze/KHORrememberוְקַבֵּלve/kab/BELand takeעָלֶיךָa/LE/khaupon youוּגְדֹרu/ge/DORand crossאֶת־נַפְשְׁךָet-naf/she/KHAyourselfבַּדְּבָרִיםbad/de/va/RIMin the thingsהָאֵלֶּה׃ha/EL/lethese

   Now my son, I would that ye should repent and forsake your sins, and go no more after the lusts of your eyes, but cross yourself in all these things; for except ye do this ye can in nowise inherit the kingdom of God. Oh, remember, and take it upon you, and cross yourself in these things.

    וּמְצַוֶּהu/me/tsav/VEand commandאֲנִיa/NIIאוֹתְךָot/KHAyouלְקַבֵּלle/kab/BELto takeעָלֶיךָa/LE/khaupon youלְהִוָּעֵץle/hiv/va/ETSto counselבְּאַחֶיךָbe/a/CHE/khawith your brethrenהַגְּדוֹלִיםhag/ge/do/LIMelderבְּמַעֲשֶׂיךָbe/ma/a/SE/khain your undertakingsכִּיkiforהִנֵּהhin/NEbeholdעוֹדְךָod/KHAyou areבִּנְעוּרֶיךָbin/u/RE/khain your youthוְעַל־אַחֶיךָve/AL-a/CHE/khaand your brethren mustלְכַלְכֵּלle/khal/KELnourishאוֹתְךָot/KHAyouוְהַקְשֵׁבve/hak/SHEVand give heedאֶלeltoעֲצָתָם׃a/tsa/TAMtheir counsel

    And I command you to take it upon you to counsel with your elder brothers in your undertakings; for behold, thou art in thy youth, and ye stand in need to be nourished by your brothers. And give heed to their counsel.

    אַלalnotתִּתֵּןtit/TENsufferלְהַתְעוֹתle/hat/OTto be led awayאֶת־נַפְשְׁךָet-naf/she/KHAyourselfבְּדָבָרbe/da/VARby any thingרִיקrikvainאוֹoorסָכָלsa/KHALfoolishאַלalnotתִּתֵּןtit/TENsufferלַשָּׂטָןlas/sa/TANthe devilלְהַתְעוֹתle/hat/OTto lead awayאֶת־לִבְּךָet-lib/be/KHAyour heartעוֹדodagainאַחֲרֵיa/cha/REafterהַזּוֹנוֹתhaz/zo/NOTharlotsהָרָעוֹתha/ra/OTwickedהָהֵןha/HENthoseהִנֵּהhin/NEbeholdבְּנִיbe/NImy sonמֶהmehowעָוֹןa/VONiniquityגָּדוֹלga/DOLgreatהֵבֵאתָhe/VE/tayou broughtעַלaluponהַזּוֹרָמִיםhaz/Zo/ra/MIMthe Zoramitesכִּיkiforבִּרְאוֹתָםbir/o/TAMwhen they sawאֶת־מַעֲשֶׂיךָet-ma/a/SE/khayour conductלֹא־הֶאֱמִינוּlo-he/e/MI/nuthey would not believeבִּדְבָרָי׃bid/va/RAYin my words

    Suffer not yourself to be led away by any vain or foolish thing; suffer not the devil to lead away your heart again after those wicked harlots. Behold, O my son, how great iniquity ye brought upon the Zoramites; for when they saw your conduct they would not believe in my words.

    וְעַתָּהve/at/TAand nowרוּחַRU/achthe SpiritיְהוָהAdonaiof Adonaiאֹמֵרo/MERsaysאֵלַיe/LAYunto meצַוtsavcommandאֶת־בָּנֶיךָet-ba/NE/khayour childrenלַעֲשׂוֹתla/a/SOTto doהַטּוֹבhat/TOVgoodפֶּןpenlestיַתְעוּyat/Uthey lead awayאֶת־לִבּוֹתet-lib/BOTthe heartsעַםamof peopleרַבravmanyלַשַּׁחַתlash/SHA/chatto destructionלָכֵןla/KHENthereforeמְצַוֶּהme/tsav/VEcommandאֲנִיa/NIIאוֹתְךָot/KHAyouבְּנִיbe/NImy sonבְּיִרְאַתbe/yir/ATin the fearאֱלֹהִיםe/lo/HIMof Godכִּיkithatתֶחְדַּלtech/DALyou refrainמֵעֲוֹנוֹתֶיךָ׃me/a/vo/no/te/KHAfrom your iniquities

    And now the Spirit of the Lord doth say unto me: Command thy children to do good, lest they lead away the hearts of many people to destruction; therefore I command you, my son, in the fear of God, that ye refrain from your iniquities;

13. 13

    כִּי־תָשׁוּבki-ta/SHUVthat you turnאֶל־יְהוָהel-Adonaito Adonaiבְּכׇלbe/KHOLwith allלְבָבְךָle/va/ve/KHAyour heartוְכֹחֲךָve/kho/cha/KHAand your mightוּמְאֹדֶךָu/me/o/DE/khaand your strengthכִּי־לֹאki-lothat notתַתְעֶהtat/Eyou lead awayעוֹדodany moreלִבּוֹתlib/BOTthe hearts ofלַעֲשׂוֹתla/a/SOTto doרָעָהra/Awickedlyאַךְakhbutשׁוּבshuvreturnאֲלֵיהֶםa/le/HEMunto themוְהוֹדֵהve/ho/DEand acknowledgeבְּחַטֹּאתֶיךָbe/chat/to/te/KHAyour sinsוּבָעָוֶלu/va/A/veland the wrongאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhichעָשִׂיתָ׃a/SI/tayou did

    That ye turn to the Lord with all your mind, might, and strength; that ye lead away the hearts of no more to do wickedly; but rather return unto them, and acknowledge your faults and that wrong which ye have done.

    אַלaldo notתְּבַקֵּשׁte/vak/KESHseekעֹשֶׁרO/sherrichesוְהַבְלֵיve/hav/LEand the vain thingsהָעוֹלָםha/o/LAMof the worldהַזֶּהhaz/ZEthisכִּיkiforהִנֵּהhin/NEbeholdלֹא־תוּכַלlo-tu/KHALyou cannotלָשֵׂאתla/SETcarryאוֹתָםo/TAMthemעִמָּךְ׃im/MAKHwith you

    Seek not after riches nor the vain things of this world; for behold, you cannot carry them with you.

    וְעַתָּהve/at/TAand nowבְּנִיbe/NImy sonאֹמַרo/MARI would sayלְךָle/KHAunto youדָּבָרda/VARsomewhatעַל־בּוֹאal-boconcerning the comingהַמָּשִׁיחַham/Ma/SHI/achof Christהִנֵּהhin/NEbeholdאֹמֵרo/MERsayאֲנִיa/NIIלְךָle/KHAunto youכִּי־הוּאki-huthat it is heאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthatבּוֹאbosurelyיָבוֹאya/VOshall comeלָשֵׂאתla/SETto take awayאֶת־חַטֹּאתet-chat/TOTthe sinsהָעוֹלָםha/o/LAMof the worldאַףafyeaיָבוֹאya/VOhe comesלְהַגִּידle/hag/GIDto declareבְּשׂוֹרוֹתbe/so/ROTglad tidingsיְשׁוּעָהye/shu/Aof salvationלְעַמּוֹ׃le/am/MOunto his people

    And now, my son, I would say somewhat unto you concerning the coming of Christ. Behold, I say unto you, that it is he that surely shall come to take away the sins of the world; yea, he cometh to declare glad tidings of salvation unto his people.

    וְעַתָּהve/at/TAand nowבְּנִיbe/NImy sonזֹאתzotthisהָיְתָהha/ye/TAwasהָעֲבוֹדָהha/a/vo/DAthe ministryאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhichנִקְרֵאתָnik/re/TAyou were calledאֵלֶיהָe/LE/haunto itלְהַגִּידle/hag/GIDto declareאֶת־הַבְּשׂוֹרוֹתet-hab/be/so/ROTthe glad tidingsהָאֵלֶּהha/EL/letheseלָעָםla/AMunto the peopleהַזֶּהhaz/ZEthisלְהָכִיןle/ha/KHINto prepareאֶת־לִבָּםet-lib/BAMtheir heartsאוֹoorיוֹתֵרyo/TERmoreנָכוֹןna/KHONrightlyלְמַעַןle/MA/anthatתָּבוֹאta/VOmight comeלָהֶםla/HEMunto themיְשׁוּעָהye/shu/Asalvationלְמַעַןle/MA/anthatיָכִינוּya/khi/NUthey may prepareאֶת־לִבּוֹתet-lib/BOTthe heartsבְּנֵיהֶםbe/ne/HEMof their childrenלִשְׁמֹעַlish/MO/ato hearאֶת־הַדָּבָרet-had/da/VARthe wordבְּעֵתbe/ETat the timeבּוֹאוֹ׃bo/Oof his coming

    And now, my son, this was the ministry unto which ye were called, to declare these glad tidings unto this people, to prepare their minds; or rather that salvation might come unto them, that they may prepare the minds of their children to hear the word at the time of his coming.

    וְעַתָּהve/at/TAand nowאָנִיחַa/NI/achI will easeאֶת־דַּעְתְּךָet-da/te/KHAyour mindמְעַטme/ATsomewhatבַּדָּבָרbad/da/VARon the subjectהַזֶּהhaz/ZEthisהִנֵּהhin/NEbeholdתִּתְמַהּtit/MAyou marvelמַדּוּעַmad/DU/awhyיִוָּדְעוּyiv/va/de/Ushould be knownהַדְּבָרִיםhad/de/va/RIMthe thingsהָאֵלֶּהha/EL/letheseיָמִיםya/MIMdaysרַבִּיםrab/BIMmanyמִקֶּדֶםmik/KE/dembeforehandהִנֵּהhin/NEbeholdאֹמֵרo/MERsayאֲנִיa/NIIלְךָle/KHAunto youהֲלֹאha/LOis notנֶפֶשׁNE/fesha soulבָּעֵתba/ETat the timeהַזֹּאתhaz/ZOTthisיְקָרָהye/ka/RApreciousלֵאלֹהִיםle/lo/HIMunto Godכַּאֲשֶׁרka/a/SHERasתִּהְיֶהtih/YEwill beנֶפֶשׁNE/fesha soulבְּעֵתbe/ETat the timeבּוֹאוֹ׃bo/Oof his coming

    And now I will ease your mind somewhat on this subject. Behold, you marvel why these things should be known so long beforehand. Behold, I say unto you, is not a soul at this time as precious unto God as a soul will be at the time of his coming?

18. 18

    הֲלֹאha/LOis it notצֹרֶךְTSO/rekhnecessaryכִּיkithatתִּוָּדַעtiv/va/DAshould be made knownעֲצַתa/TSATthe planהַגְּאֻלָּהhag/ge/ul/LAof redemptionלָעָםla/AMunto the peopleהַזֶּהhaz/ZEthisכַּאֲשֶׁרka/a/SHERas well asלִבְנֵיהֶם׃liv/ne/HEMunto their children

    Is it not as necessary that the plan of redemption should be made known unto this people as well as unto their children?

19. 19

    הֲלֹאha/LOis it notנָקֵלna/KELeasyלַיהוָהla-Adonaifor Adonaiבָּעֵתba/ETat the timeהַזֹּאתhaz/ZOTthisלִשְׁלֹחַlish/LO/achto sendאֶת־מַלְאָכוֹet-mal/a/KHOhis angelלְהַגִּידle/hag/GIDto declareאֶת־הַבְּשׂוֹרוֹתet-hab/be/so/ROTthe glad tidingsהָאֵלֶּהha/EL/letheseלָנוּLA/nuunto usכַּאֲשֶׁרka/a/SHERasלְבָנֵינוּle/va/NE/nuunto our childrenאוֹoorכַּאֲשֶׁרka/a/SHERasאַחֲרֵיa/cha/REafterבּוֹאוֹ׃bo/Ohis coming

    Is it not as easy at this time for the Lord to send his angel to declare these glad tidings unto us as unto our children, or as after the time of his coming?
