   And again: Hearken, O ye house of Israel, all ye that are broken off and are driven out because of the wickedness of the pastors of my people; yea, all ye that are broken off, that are scattered abroad, who are of my people, O house of Israel. Listen, O isles, unto me, and hearken ye people from far; the Lord hath called me from the womb; from the bowels of my mother hath he made mention of my name.

   And he hath made my mouth like a sharp sword; in the shadow of his hand hath he hid me, and made me a polished shaft; in his quiver hath he hid me;

   וַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand He saidלִיliunto meעַבְדִּי־אָתָּהav/DI-AT/tayou are My servantיִשְׂרָאֵלYis/ra/ELO Israelאֲשֶׁר־בְּךָa/SHER-be/KHAin whomאֶתְפָּאָר׃et/pa/ARI will be glorified

   And said unto me: Thou art my servant, O Israel, in whom I will be glorified.

4. 4

   וַאֲנִיva/a/NIthen Iאָמַרְתִּיa/MAR/tisaidלְרִיקle/RIKin vainיָגַעְתִּיya/GA/tiI laboredלְתֹהוּle/TO/hufor naughtוְהֶבֶלve/HE/veland in vainכֹּחִיko/CHImy strengthכִלֵּיתִיkhil/LE/tiI spentאָכֵןa/KHENsurelyמִשְׁפָּטִיmish/pa/TImy judgmentאֶת־יְהוָהet-Adonaiis with Adonaiוּפְעֻלָּתִיu/fe/ul/la/TIand my workאֶת־אֱלֹהָי׃et-e/lo/HAYwith my God

   Then I said, I have labored in vain, I have spent my strength for naught and in vain; surely my judgment is with the Lord, and my work with my God.

   וְעַתָּהve/at/TAand nowאָמַרa/MARsaithיְהוָהAdonaiAdonaiיוֹצְרִיyots/RIthat formed meמִבֶּטֶןmib/BE/tenfrom the wombלְעֶבֶדle/E/vedto be a servantלוֹlounto Himלְשׁוֹבֵבle/sho/VEVto bringיַעֲקֹבYa/a/KOVJacobאֵלָיוe/LAYVunto Himוְיִשְׂרָאֵלve/Yis/ra/ELthough Israelלֹאlonotיֵאָסֵףye/a/SEFbe gatheredוְאֶכָּבֵדve/ek/ka/VEDyet shall I be gloriousבְּעֵינֵיbe/e/NEin the eyesיְהוָהAdonaiof Adonaiוֵאלֹהַיve/lo/HAYand my Godהָיָהha/YAshall beעֻזִּי׃uz/ZImy strength

   And now, saith the Lord—that formed me from the womb that I should be his servant, to bring Jacob again to him—though Israel be not gathered, yet shall I be glorious in the eyes of the Lord, and my God shall be my strength.

   וַיֹּאמֶרvay/YO/merand He saidנָקֵלna/KELit is a light thingמִהְיוֹתְךָmih/yot/KHAthat you should beלִיliunto MeעֶבֶדE/veda servantלְהָקִיםle/ha/KIMto raise upאֶת־שִׁבְטֵיet-shiv/TEthe tribesיַעֲקֹבYa/a/KOVof Jacobוּנְצוּרֵיu/ne/tsu/REand the preservedיִשְׂרָאֵלYis/ra/ELof Israelלְהָשִׁיבle/ha/SHIVto restoreוּנְתַתִּיךָu/ne/tat/TI/khaI will also give youלְאוֹרle/ORfor a lightגּוֹיִםGo/YIMto the Gentilesלִהְיוֹתlih/YOTto beיְשׁוּעָתִיye/shu/a/TIMy salvationעַד־קְצוֹתad-ke/TSOTunto the endsהָאָרֶץ׃ha/A/retsof the earth

   And he said: It is a light thing that thou shouldst be my servant to raise up the tribes of Jacob, and to restore the preserved of Israel. I will also give thee for a light to the Gentiles, that thou mayest be my salvation unto the ends of the earth.

   כֹּה־אָמַרko-a/MARthus saithיְהוָהAdonaiAdonaiגֹּאֵלGo/ELthe RedeemerיִשְׂרָאֵלYis/ra/ELof IsraelקְדוֹשׁוֹKe/do/SHOhis Holy Oneלִבְזֹה־נֶפֶשׁliv/ZO-NE/feshto him whom man despisesלִמְתָעֵבlim/TA/evto him whom abhorsגּוֹיgoythe nationלְעֶבֶדle/E/vedto a servantמֹשְׁלִיםmosh/LIMof rulersמְלָכִיםme/la/KHIMkingsיִרְאוּyir/Ushall seeוָקָמוּva/KA/muand ariseשָׂרִיםsa/RIMprincesוְיִשְׁתַּחֲווּve/yish/ta/cha/VUalso shall worshipלְמַעַןle/MA/anbecause ofיְהוָהAdonaiAdonaiאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwho isנֶאֱמָן׃ne/e/MANfaithful

   Thus saith the Lord, the Redeemer of Israel, his Holy One, to him whom man despiseth, to him whom the nations abhorreth, to servant of rulers: Kings shall see and arise, princes also shall worship, because of the Lord that is faithful.

   כֹּה־אָמַרko-a/MARthus saithיְהוָהAdonaiAdonaiבְּעֵתbe/ETin a timeרָצוֹןra/TSONacceptableעֲנִיתִיךָa/ni/TI/khahave I heard youאִיֵּיiy/YEO islesהַיָּםhay/YAMof the seaוּבְיוֹםu/ve/YOMand in a dayיְשׁוּעָהye/shu/Aof salvationעֲזַרְתִּיךָa/zar/TI/khahave I helped youוְאֶצׇּרְךָve/ets/tsor/KHAand I will preserve youוְאֶתֶּנְךָve/et/ten/KHAand give youעַבְדִּיav/DImy servantלִבְרִיתliv/RITfor a covenantעָםamof the peopleלְהָקִיםle/ha/KIMto establishאֶרֶץE/retsthe earthלְהַנְחִילle/han/CHILto cause to inheritנְחָלוֹתne/cha/LOTheritagesשֹׁמֵמוֹת׃sho/me/MOTthe desolate

   Thus saith the Lord: In an acceptable time have I heard thee, O isles of the sea, and in a day of salvation have I helped thee; and I will preserve thee, and give thee my servant for a covenant of the people, to establish the earth, to cause to inherit the desolate heritages;

   לֵאמֹרle/MORsayingלַאֲסוּרִיםla/a/su/RIMto the prisonersצֵאוּTSE/ugo forthלַאֲשֶׁרla/a/SHERto them thatבַּחֹשֶׁךְba/CHO/shekhare in darknessהִגָּלוּhig/ga/LUshow yourselvesעַל־דְּרָכִיםal-de/ra/KHIMin the waysיִרְעוּyir/Uthey shall feedוּבְכׇל־שְׁפָיִיםu/ve/KHOL-she/fa/YIMand in all the high placesמַרְעִיתָם׃mar/i/TAMtheir pastures shall be

   That thou mayest say to the prisoners: Go forth; to them that sit in darkness: Show yourselves. They shall feed in the ways, and their pastures shall be in all high places.

10. 10

    לֹאlonotיִרְעָבוּyir/A/vushall they hungerוְלֹאve/LOnorיִצְמָאוּyits/MA/ushall they thirstוְלֹא־יַכֵּםve/LO-yak/KEMneither shall smite themשָׁרָבsha/RAVthe heatוָשָׁמֶשׁva/SHA/meshnor the sunכִּי־מְרַחֲמָםki-me/ra/cha/MAMfor He that has mercy on themיְנַהֲגֵםye/na/ha/GEMshall lead themוְעַל־מַבּוּעֵיve/AL-mab/BU/eand by the springsמַיִםMA/yimof waterיְנַהֲלֵם׃ye/na/ha/LEMshall He guide them

    They shall not hunger nor thirst, neither shall the heat nor the sun smite them; for he that hath mercy on them shall lead them, even by the springs of water shall he guide them.

11. 11

    וְשַׂמְתִּיve/sam/TIand I will makeכׇל־הָרַיkhol-ha/RAYall My mountainsלַדָּרֶךְlad/DA/rekha wayוּמְסִלֹּתַיu/me/sil/lo/TAYand My highwaysיְרֻמוּן׃ye/ru/MUNshall be exalted

    And I will make all my mountains a way, and my highways shall be exalted.

12. 12

    וְאָזve/AZand thenבֵּית־יִשְׂרָאֵלbet-Yis/ra/ELO house of Israelהִנֵּהhin/NEbeholdאֵלֶּהEL/letheseמֵרָחוֹקme/ra/CHOKfrom farיָבֹאוּya/VO/ushall comeוְהִנֵּה־אֵלֶּהve/hin/NE-EL/leand lo, theseמִצָּפוֹןmits/tsa/FONfrom the northוּמִיָּםu/miy/YAMand from the westוְאֵלֶּהve/EL/leand theseמֵאֶרֶץme/E/retsfrom the landסִינִים׃Si/NIMof Sinim

    And then, O house of Israel, behold, these shall come from far; and lo, these from the north and from the west; and these from the land of Sinim.

13. 13

    רׇנּוּron/NUsingשָׁמַיִםsha/MA/yimO heavensוְגִילִיve/GI/liand be joyfulאָרֶץA/retsO earthכִּי־נָכוֹנוּki-na/KHO/nufor shall be establishedרַגְלֵיrag/LEthe feetאֲשֶׁרa/SHERof those who areבַּמִּזְרָחbam/miz/RACHin the eastפִּצְחוּpits/CHUbreak forthהָרִיםha/RIMO mountainsרִנָּהrin/NAinto singingכִּי־לֹאki-lofor they shall notיֻכּוּyuk/KUbe smittenעוֹדodany moreכִּי־נִחַםki-ni/CHAMfor comfortedיְהוָהAdonaiAdonaiעַמּוֹam/MOHis peopleוַעֲנִיָּיוva/a/niy/YAYVand upon his afflictedיְרַחֵם׃ye/ra/CHEMwill He have mercy

    Sing, O heavens; and be joyful, O earth; for the feet of those who are in the east shall be established; and break forth into singing, O mountains; for they shall be smitten no more; for the Lord hath comforted his people, and will have mercy upon his afflicted.

14. 14

    וְהִנֵּהve/hin/NEbut beholdאָמְרָהa/me/RAsaidצִיּוֹןTsiy/YONZionעֲזָבַנִיa/za/VA/niforsook meיְהוָהAdonaiAdonaiוַאדֹנָיva/Do/NAYand Adonaiשְׁכֵחָנִיshe/khe/CHA/niforgot meוְהוּאve/HUbut Heיַרְאֶהyar/Ewill showכִּי־לֹא׃ki-lothat He has not

    But, behold, Zion hath said: The Lord hath forsaken me, and my Lord hath forgotten me—but he will show that he hath not.

15. 15

    הֲתִשְׁכַּחha/tish/KACHcan forgetאִשָּׁהish/SHAa womanעוּלָהּu/LAher sucking childמֵרַחֵםme/ra/CHEMfrom having compassionבֶּן־בִּטְנָהּben-bit/NAon the son of her wombגַּם־אֵלֶּהgam-EL/leyea, theyתִשְׁכַּחְנָהtish/KACH/namay forgetוְאָנֹכִיve/a/no/KHIyet will Iלֹאlonotאֶשְׁכָּחֵךְesh/ka/CHEKHforget youבֵּית־יִשְׂרָאֵל׃bet-Yis/ra/ELO house of Israel

    For can a woman forget her sucking child, that she should not have compassion on the son of her womb? Yea, they may forget, yet will I not forget thee, O house of Israel.

16. 16

    הֵןhenbeholdעַל־כַּפַּיִםal-kap/PA/yimupon the palms of My handsחַקֹּתִיךְchak/ko/TIKHhave I graven youחוֹמֹתַיִךְcho/mo/TA/yikhyour wallsנֶגְדִּיneg/DIare before Meתָּמִיד׃ta/MIDcontinually

    Behold, I have graven thee upon the palms of my hands; thy walls are continually before me.

17. 17

    יְמַהֲרוּye/ma/ha/RUshall make hasteבָנַיִךְva/NA/yikhyour childrenעַל־מְהָרְסָיִךְal-me/ha/re/sa/YIKHagainst your destroyersוּמַחֲרִיבַיִךְu/ma/cha/ri/VA/yikhand they that made you wasteמִמֵּךְmim/MEKHfrom youיֵצֵאוּ׃ye/TSE/ushall go forth

    Thy children shall make haste against thy destroyers; and they that made thee waste shall go forth of thee.

18. 18

    שְׂאִי־סָבִיבse/I-sa/VIVlift up round aboutעֵינַיִךְe/NA/yikhyour eyesוּרְאִיu/re/Iand beholdכֻּלָּםkul/LAMall theseנִקְבְּצוּnik/be/TSUgather themselves togetherבָאוּ־לָךְVA/u-lakhcome to youחַי־אָנִיchay-A/nias I liveנְאֻם־יְהוָהne/UM-Adonaisaith Adonaiכִּיkithatכֻלָּםkhul/LAMthem allכָּעֲדִיka/a/DIas with an ornamentתִלְבָּשִׁיtil/BA/shiyou shall surely clothe youוּתְקַשְּׁרִיםu/te/kash/she/RIMand bind them on youכַּכַּלָּה׃kak/kal/LAas a bride does

    Lift up thine eyes round about and behold; all these gather themselves together, and they shall come to thee. And as I live, saith the Lord, thou shalt surely clothe thee with them all, as with an ornament, and bind them on even as a bride.

19. 19

    כִּיkibecauseחׇרְבֹתַיִךְchor/vo/TA/yikhyour waste placesוְשֹׁמְמֹתַיִךְve/shom/mo/TA/yikhand your desolate placesוְאֶרֶץve/E/retsand the landהֲרִסֻתֵךְha/ri/su/TEKHof your destructionכִּיkibecauseעַתָּהat/TAnowתֵּצְרִיtets/RIshall be too narrowמִיּוֹשֵׁבmiy/yo/SHEVfor the inhabitantsוְרָחֲקוּve/ra/cha/KUshall be far awayמְבַלְּעָיִךְ׃me/val/le/A/yikhthey that swallowed you up

    For thy waste and thy desolate places, and the land of thy destruction, shall even now be too narrow by reason of the inhabitants; and they that swallowed thee up shall be far away.

20. 20

    בָּנִיםba/NIMthe childrenאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhichיִהְיוּ־לָךְyih/YU-lakhyou shall haveאַחֲרֵיa/cha/REafterאׇבְדָןov/DANyou lostהָרִאשֹׁנִיםha/ri/sho/NIMthe firstעוֹדodagainיֹאמְרוּyo/me/RUshall sayבְאׇזְנַיִךְve/oz/NA/yikhin your earsצַר־לִיtsar-liis too strait for meהַמָּקוֹםham/ma/KOMthe placeגְּשָׁה־לִּיge/SHA-ligive place to meוְאֵשֵׁבָה׃ve/e/SHE/vathat I may dwell

    The children whom thou shalt have, after thou hast lost the first, shall again in thine ears say: The place is too strait for me; give place to me that I may dwell.

21. 21

    וְאָמַרְתְּve/a/MARTthen shall you sayבִּלְבָבֵךְbil/va/VEKHin your heartמִיmiwhoיָלַד־לִיya/LAD-libegat meאֶת־אֵלֶּהet-EL/letheseוַאֲנִיva/a/NIseeing Iשְׁכוּלָהshe/khu/LAlost my childrenוְגַלְמוּדָהve/gal/mu/DAand am desolateגֹּלָהgo/LAa captiveוְסוּרָהve/su/RAand removing to and froוְאֵלֶּהve/EL/leand theseמִיmiwhoגִדֵּלgid/DELbrought upהֵןhenbeholdאֲנִיa/NIIנִשְׁאַרְתִּיnish/AR/tiwas leftלְבַדִּיle/vad/DIaloneאֵלֶּהEL/letheseאֵיפֹהe/FOwhereהָיוּ׃ha/YUhave they been

    Then shalt thou say in thine heart: Who hath begotten me these, seeing I have lost my children, and am desolate, a captive, and removing to and fro? And who hath brought up these? Behold, I was left alone; these, where have they been?

22. 22

    כֹּה־אָמַרko-a/MARthus saithאֲדֹנָיA/do/NAYAdonaiיְהוִהAdonaiGODהִנֵּהhin/NEbeholdאֶשָּׂאes/SAI will lift upאֶל־גּוֹיִםel-Go/YIMto the Gentilesיָדִיya/DIMy handוְאֶל־עַמִּיםve/EL-am/MIMand to the peopleאָרִיםa/RIMset upנִסִּיnis/SIMy standardוְהֵבִיאוּve/he/VI/uand they shall bringבָנַיִךְva/NA/yikhyour sonsבְּחֹצֶןbe/CHO/tsenin their armsוּבְנֹתַיִךְu/ve/no/TA/yikhand your daughtersעַל־כָּתֵףal-ka/TEFupon their shouldersתִּנָּשֶׂאנָה׃tin/na/SE/nashall be carried

    Thus saith the Lord God: Behold, I will lift up mine hand to the Gentiles, and set up my standard to the people; and they shall bring thy sons in their arms, and thy daughters shall be carried upon their shoulders.

23. 23

    וְהָיוּve/ha/YUand shall beמְלָכִיםme/la/KHIMkingsאֹמְנַיִךְom/NA/yikhyour nursing fathersוְשָׂרוֹתֵיהֶםve/sa/ro/te/HEMand their queensמֵינִיקֹתַיִךְme/ni/ko/TA/yikhyour nursing mothersאַפַּיִםap/PA/yimwith their faceאֶרֶץE/retstoward the earthיִשְׁתַּחֲווּyish/ta/cha/VUthey shall bow downלָךְlakhto youוַעֲפַרva/a/FARand the dustרַגְלַיִךְrag/LA/yikhof your feetיְלַחֵכוּye/la/CHE/khushall they lick upוְיָדַעַתְּve/ya/DA/attand you shall knowכִּי־אֲנִיki-a/NIthat I amיְהוָהAdonaiAdonaiאֲשֶׁרa/SHERforלֹא־יֵבֹשׁוּlo-ye/VO/shuthey shall not be ashamedקֹוָי׃ko/VAYthat wait for Me

    And kings shall be thy nursing fathers, and their queens thy nursing mothers; they shall bow down to thee with their face towards the earth, and lick up the dust of thy feet; and thou shalt know that I am the Lord; for they shall not be ashamed that wait for me.

24. 24

    הֲיֻקַּחha/yuk/KACHshall be takenמִגִּבּוֹרmig/gib/BORfrom the mightyמַלְקוֹחַmal/KO/achthe preyוְאִם־שְׁבִיve/IM-she/VIor shall the captivesצַדִּיקtsad/DIKof the justיִמָּלֵט׃yim/ma/LETbe delivered

    For shall the prey be taken from the mighty, or the lawful captives delivered?

25. 25

    כִּי־כֹהki-khobut thusאָמַרa/MARsaithיְהוָהAdonaiAdonaiגַּם־שְׁבִיgam-she/VIeven the captivesגִבּוֹרgib/BORof the mightyיֻקָּחyuk/KACHshall be taken awayוּמַלְקוֹחַu/mal/KO/achand the preyעָרִיץa/RITSof the terribleיִמָּלֵטyim/ma/LETshall be deliveredוְאֶת־יְרִיבֵךְve/ET-ye/ri/VEKHand with him that contends with youאָנֹכִיa/no/KHIIאָרִיבa/RIVwill contendוְאֶת־בָּנַיִךְve/ET-ba/NA/yikhand your childrenאָנֹכִיa/no/KHIIאוֹשִׁיעַ׃o/SHI/awill save

    But thus saith the Lord, even the captives of the mighty shall be taken away, and the prey of the terrible shall be delivered; for I will contend with him that contendeth with thee, and I will save thy children.

26. 26

    וְהַאֲכַלְתִּיve/ha/a/khal/TIand I will feedאֶת־מוֹנַיִךְet-mo/NA/yikhthem that oppress youאֶת־בְּשָׂרָםet-be/sa/RAMwith their own fleshוְכֶעָסִיסve/khe/a/SISand as with sweet wineדָּמָםda/MAMwith their own bloodיִשְׁכָּרוּןyish/ka/RUNthey shall be drunkenוְיָדְעוּve/ya/de/Uand shall knowכׇל־בָּשָׂרkhol-ba/SARall fleshכִּי־אֲנִיki-a/NIthat IיְהוָהAdonaiAdonaiמוֹשִׁיעֵךְMo/shi/EKHam your Saviorוְגֹאֲלֵךְve/Go/a/LEKHand your RedeemerאֲבִירA/VIRthe Mighty Oneיַעֲקֹב׃Ya/a/KOVof Jacob

    And I will feed them that oppress thee with their own flesh; they shall be drunken with their own blood as with sweet wine; and all flesh shall know that I, the Lord, am thy Savior and thy Redeemer, the Mighty One of Jacob.
