Ezra 3 עֶזְרָא פרק ג׳

   And when the seventh month was come, and the children of Israel were in the cities, the people gathered themselves together as one man to Jerusalem.

   וַיָּקׇםvay/YA/komthen rose upיֵשׁוּעַYe/SHU/aJeshuaבֶּן־יוֹצָדָקben-Yo/tsa/DAKthe son of Jozadakוְאֶחָיוve/e/CHAYVand his brothersהַכֹּהֲנִיםhak/ko/ha/NIMthe priestsוּזְרֻבָּבֶלu/Ze/rub/ba/VELand Zerubbabelבֶּן־שְׁאַלְתִּיאֵלben-She/al/ti/ELthe son of Shealtielוְאֶחָיוve/e/CHAYVand his brothersוַיִּבְנוּvay/yiv/NUand they builtאֶת־מִזְבַּחet-miz/BACHthe altar ofאֱלֹהֵיe/lo/HEthe God ofיִשְׂרָאֵלYis/ra/ELIsraelלְהַעֲלוֹתle/ha/a/LOTto offerעָלָיוa/LAYVon itעֹלוֹתo/LOTburnt offeringsכַּכָּתוּבkak/ka/TUVas it is writtenבְּתוֹרַתbe/to/RATin the law ofמֹשֶׁהMo/SHEMosesאִישׁ־הָאֱלֹהִים׃ish-ha/e/lo/HIMthe man of God

   Then stood up Jeshua the son of Jozadak, and his brethren the priests, and Zerubbabel the son of Shealtiel, and his brethren, and builded the altar of the God of Israel, to offer burnt offerings thereon, as it is written in the law of Moses the man of God.

   וַיָּכִינוּvay/ya/KHI/nuand they setהַמִּזְבֵּחַham/miz/BE/achthe altarעַל־מְכוֹנֹתָיוal-me/kho/no/TAYVon its baseכִּיkiforבְּאֵימָהbe/e/MAdread wasעֲלֵיהֶםa/le/HEMon themמֵעַמֵּיme/am/MEbecause of the peoples ofהָאֲרָצוֹתha/a/ra/TSOTthe lands(ויעל)vayl[וַיַּעֲלוּ]vay/ya/a/LUand they offeredעָלָיוa/LAYVon itעֹלוֹתo/LOTburnt offeringsלַיהֹוָהla-Adonaito the LORDעֹלוֹתo/LOTburnt offeringsלַבֹּקֶרlab/BO/kermorningוְלָעָרֶב׃ve/la/A/revand evening

   And they set the altar upon his bases; for fear was upon them because of the people of those countries: and they offered burnt offerings thereon unto the LORD, even burnt offerings morning and evening.

   וַיַּעֲשׂוּvay/ya/a/SUand they keptאֶת־חַגet-chagthe feast ofהַסֻּכּוֹתhas/suk/KOTboothsכַּכָּתוּבkak/ka/TUVas it is writtenוְעֹלַתve/o/LATand burnt offerings ofיוֹםyomdayבְּיוֹםbe/YOMby dayבְּמִסְפָּרbe/mis/PARby numberכְּמִשְׁפַּטke/mish/PATaccording to the ordinanceדְּבַר־יוֹםde/VAR-yomeach day's matterבְּיוֹמוֹ׃be/yo/MOin its day

   They kept also the feast of tabernacles, as it is written, and offered the daily burnt offerings by number, according to the custom, as the duty of every day required;

   וְאַחֲרֵי־כֵןve/a/cha/RE-khenand after thisעֹלַתo/LATthe burnt offering ofתָּמִידta/MIDcontinualוְלֶחֳדָשִׁיםve/le/cho/da/SHIMand of the new moonsוּלְכׇל־מוֹעֲדֵיu/le/KHOL-mo/a/DEand of all the appointed feasts ofיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDהַמְקֻדָּשִׁיםham/kud/da/SHIMthat were consecratedוּלְכֹלu/le/KHOLand of everyone whoמִתְנַדֵּבmit/nad/DEVoffered willinglyנְדָבָהne/da/VAa freewill offeringלַיהֹוָה׃la-Adonaito the LORD

   And afterward offered the continual burnt offering, both of the new moons, and of all the set feasts of the LORD that were consecrated, and of every one that willingly offered a freewill offering unto the LORD.

   מִיּוֹםmiy/YOMfrom the dayאֶחָדe/CHADoneלַחֹדֶשׁla/CHO/deshof the monthהַשְּׁבִיעִיhash/she/vi/Ithe seventhהֵחֵלּוּhe/CHEL/lubeganלְהַעֲלוֹתle/ha/a/LOTto offerעֹלוֹתo/LOTburnt offeringsלַיהֹוָהla-Adonaito the LORDוְהֵיכַלve/he/KHALand the temple ofיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDלֹאlonotיֻסָּד׃yus/SADwas its foundation laid

   From the first day of the seventh month began they to offer burnt offerings unto the LORD. But the foundation of the temple of the LORD was not yet laid.

   וַיִּתְּנוּ־כֶסֶףvay/yit/te/NU-KHE/sefthey gave money alsoלַחֹצְבִיםla/chots/VIMto the masonsוְלֶחָרָשִׁיםve/le/cha/ra/SHIMand to the craftsmenוּמַאֲכָלu/ma/a/KHALand foodוּמִשְׁתֶּהu/mish/TEand drinkוָשֶׁמֶןva/SHE/menand oilלַצִּדֹנִיםlats/Tsi/do/NIMto the Zidoniansוְלַצֹּרִיםve/Lats/tso/RIMand to the Tyriansלְהָבִיאle/ha/VIto bringעֲצֵיa/TSEtimber ofאֲרָזִיםa/ra/ZIMcedarsמִן־הַלְּבָנוֹןmin-Hal/le/va/NONfrom Lebanonאֶל־יָםel-yamto the sea atיָפוֹאYa/FOJoppaכְּרִשְׁיוֹןke/rish/YONaccording to the grant ofכּוֹרֶשׁKO/reshCyrusמֶלֶךְ־פָּרַסME/lekh-Pa/RASthe king of Persiaעֲלֵיהֶם׃a/le/HEMto them

   They gave money also unto the masons, and to the carpenters; and meat, and drink, and oil, unto them of Zidon, and to them of Tyre, to bring cedar trees from Lebanon to the sea of Joppa, according to the grant that they had of Cyrus king of Persia.

   Now in the second year of their coming unto the house of God at Jerusalem, in the second month, began Zerubbabel the son of Shealtiel, and Jeshua the son of Jozadak, and the remnant of their brethren the priests and the Levites, and all they that were come out of the captivity unto Jerusalem; and appointed the Levites, from twenty years old and upward, to set forward the work of the house of the LORD.

   וַיַּעֲמֹדvay/ya/a/MODthen stoodיֵשׁוּעַYe/SHU/aJeshuaבָּנָיוba/NAYVhis sonsוְאֶחָיוve/e/CHAYVand his brothersקַדְמִיאֵלKad/mi/ELKadmielוּבָנָיוu/va/NAYVand his sonsבְּנֵי־יְהוּדָהbe/NE-ye/hu/DAthe sons of Judahכְּאֶחָדke/e/CHADas oneלְנַצֵּחַle/nats/TSE/achto overseeעַל־עֹשֵׂהal-o/SEthose doingהַמְּלָאכָהham/me/la/KHAthe workבְּבֵיתbe/VETin the house ofהָאֱלֹהִיםha/e/lo/HIMGodבְּנֵיbe/NEthe sons ofחֵנָדָדChe/na/DADHenadadבְּנֵיהֶםbe/ne/HEMtheir sonsוַאֲחֵיהֶםva/a/che/HEMand their brothersהַלְוִיִּם׃Hal/viy/YIMthe Levites

   Then stood Jeshua with his sons and his brethren, Kadmiel and his sons, the sons of Judah, together, to set forward the workmen in the house of God: the sons of Henadad, with their sons and their brethren the Levites.

    וְיִסְּדוּve/yis/se/DUand when laid the foundation ofהַבֹּנִיםhab/bo/NIMthe buildersאֶת־הֵיכַלet-he/KHALthe temple ofיְהֹוָהAdonaithe LORDוַיַּעֲמִידוּvay/ya/a/MI/duthey setהַכֹּהֲנִיםhak/ko/ha/NIMthe priestsמְלֻבָּשִׁיםme/lub/ba/SHIMin their apparelבַּחֲצֹצְרוֹתba/cha/tsots/ROTwith trumpetsוְהַלְוִיִּםVe/hal/viy/YIMand the Levitesבְּנֵי־אָסָףbe/NE-a/SAFthe sons of Asaphבַּמְצִלְתַּיִםbam/tsil/TA/yimwith cymbalsלְהַלֵּלle/hal/LELto praiseאֶת־יְהֹוָהet-Adonaithe LORDעַל־יְדֵיal-ye/DEby the hands ofדָּוִידDa/VIDDavidמֶלֶךְ־יִשְׂרָאֵל׃ME/lekh-Yis/ra/ELthe king of Israel

    And when the builders laid the foundation of the temple of the LORD, they set the priests in their apparel with trumpets, and the Levites the sons of Asaph with cymbals, to praise the LORD, after the ordinance of David king of Israel.

11. 11

    וַיַּעֲנוּvay/ya/a/NUand they sang responsivelyבְּהַלֵּלbe/hal/LELpraisingוּבְהוֹדֹתu/ve/ho/DOTand giving thanksלַיהֹוָהla-Adonaito the LORDכִּיkiforטוֹבtovgoodכִּי־לְעוֹלָםki-le/o/LAMfor foreverחַסְדּוֹchas/DOHis kindnessעַל־יִשְׂרָאֵלal-Yis/ra/ELtoward Israelוְכׇל־הָעָםve/KHOL-ha/AMand all the peopleהֵרִיעוּhe/RI/ushoutedתְרוּעָהte/ru/Aa shoutגְדוֹלָהge/do/LAgreatבְהַלֵּלve/hal/LELwhen they praisedלַיהֹוָהla-Adonaito the LORDעַלalbecauseהוּסַדhu/SADwas laid the foundation ofבֵּית־יְהֹוָה׃bet-Adonaithe house of the LORD

    And they sang together by course in praising and giving thanks unto the LORD; because he is good, for his mercy endureth for ever toward Israel. And all the people shouted with a great shout, when they praised the LORD, because the foundation of the house of the LORD was laid.

12. 12

    וְרַבִּיםve/rab/BIMand manyמֵהַכֹּהֲנִיםme/hak/ko/ha/NIMof the priestsוְהַלְוִיִּםVe/hal/viy/YIMand the Levitesוְרָאשֵׁיve/ra/SHEand the heads ofהָאָבוֹתha/a/VOTthe fathersהַזְּקֵנִיםhaz/ze/ke/NIMthe old menאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhoרָאוּra/Uhad seenאֶת־הַבַּיִתet-hab/BA/yitthe houseהָרִאשׁוֹןha/ri/SHONthe firstבְּיׇסְדוֹbe/yos/DOwhen was laid the foundation ofזֶהzethisהַבַּיִתhab/BA/yitthe houseבְּעֵינֵיהֶםbe/e/ne/HEMbefore their eyesבֹּכִיםbo/KHIMweptבְּקוֹלbe/KOLwith a voiceגָּדוֹלga/DOLloudוְרַבִּיםve/rab/BIMand manyבִּתְרוּעָהbit/ru/Awith shoutingבְשִׂמְחָהve/sim/CHAin joyלְהָרִיםle/ha/RIMliftedקוֹל׃kolvoice

    But many of the priests and Levites and chief of the fathers, who were ancient men, that had seen the first house, when the foundation of this house was laid before their eyes, wept with a loud voice; and many shouted aloud for joy:

13. 13

    וְאֵיןve/ENso that notהָעָםha/AMthe peopleמַכִּירִיםmak/ki/RIMcould discernקוֹלkolthe voice ofתְּרוּעַתte/ru/ATthe shout ofהַשִּׂמְחָהhas/sim/CHAthe joyלְקוֹלle/KOLthe voice ofבְּכִיbe/KHIweepingהָעָםha/AMthe peopleכִּיkiforהָעָםha/AMthe peopleמְרִיעִיםme/ri/IMwere shoutingתְּרוּעָהte/ru/Aa shoutגְדוֹלָהge/do/LAgreatוְהַקּוֹלve/hak/KOLand the noiseנִשְׁמַעnish/MAwas heardעַד־לְמֵרָחוֹק׃ad-le/me/ra/CHOKafar off

    So that the people could not discern the noise of the shout of joy from the noise of the weeping of the people: for the people shouted with a loud shout, and the noise was heard afar off.
