   Let all the people of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and those who journey with them, be organized into companies, with a covenant and promise to keep all the commandments and statutes of the Lord our God.

   Let the companies be organized with captains of hundreds, captains of fifties, and captains of tens, with a president and his two counselors at their head, under the direction of the Twelve Apostles.

   And this shall be our covenant—that we will walk in all the ordinances of the Lord.

   Let each company provide themselves with all the teams, wagons, provisions, clothing, and other necessaries for the journey, that they can.

   When the companies are organized let them go to with their might, to prepare for those who are to tarry.

   Let each company bear an equal proportion, according to the dividend of their property, in taking the poor, the widows, the fatherless, and the families of those who have gone into the army, that the cries of the widow and the fatherless come not up into the ears of the Lord against this people.

   Let each company prepare houses, and fields for raising grain, for those who are to remain behind this season; and this is the will of the Lord concerning his people.

    יִתֵּןyit/TENlet useכׇּלkoleveryאִישׁishmanאֶת־כׇּלet-kolallהַשְׁפָּעָתוֹhash/pa/a/TOhis influenceוּרְכוּשׁוֹu/re/khu/SHOand propertyלְהַעֲבִירle/ha/a/VIRto removeאֶת־הָעָםet-ha/AMpeopleהַזֶּהhaz/ZEthisאֶלeltoהַמָּקוֹםham/ma/KOMthe placeאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhereיָקִיםya/KIMshall locateיְהוָהAdonaithe Lordיָתֵדya/TEDa stakeצִיּוֹן׃Tsiy/YONof Zion

    Let every man use all his influence and property to remove this people to the place where the Lord shall locate a stake of Zion.

    וְאִםve/IMand ifתַּעֲשׂוּta/a/SUyou doזֹאתzotthisבְּלֵבbe/LEVheartטָהוֹרta/HORwith a pureוּבְכׇלu/ve/KHOLin allאֱמוּנָהe/mu/NAfaithfulnessתְּבֹרְכוּte/vor/KHUyou shall be blessedתְּבֹרְכוּte/vor/KHUyou shall be blessedבְּעֶדְרֵיכֶםbe/ed/re/KHEMin your flocksוּבִבְקַרְכֶםu/viv/kar/KHEMand in your herdsוּבִשְׂדוֹתֵיכֶםu/vis/do/te/KHEMand in your fieldsוּבְבָתֵּיכֶםu/ve/vat/te/KHEMand in your housesוּבְמִשְׁפְּחוֹתֵיכֶם׃u/ve/mish/pe/cho/te/KHEMand in your families

    And if ye do this with a pure heart, in all faithfulness, ye shall be blessed; you shall be blessed in your flocks, and in your herds, and in your fields, and in your houses, and in your families.

    Let my servants Ezra T. Benson and Erastus Snow organize a company.

    וְיַעַרְכוּve/ya/ar/KHUand let organizeעֲבָדַיa/va/DAYmy servantsאוֹרְסוֹןOr/SONOrsonפְּרֶטPe/RETPrattוְוִילְפוֹרְדve/Vi/le/FORDand WilfordווּדְרָףVud/RAFWoodruffמַחֲנֶה׃ma/cha/NEa company

    And let my servants Orson Pratt and Wilford Woodruff organize a company.

    Also, let my servants Amasa Lyman and George A. Smith organize a company.

    וְהַפְקִידוּve/haf/KI/duand appointנְשִׂיאִיםne/si/IMpresidentsוְשָׂרֵיve/sa/REand captainsמֵאוֹתme/OTof hundredsוְשָׂרֵיve/sa/REand captainsחֲמִשִּׁיםcha/mish/SHIMof fiftiesוְשָׂרֵיve/sa/REand captainsעֲשָׂרֹת׃a/sa/ROTof tens

    And appoint presidents, and captains of hundreds, and of fifties, and of tens.

    וְיֵלְכוּve/yel/KHUand let goעֲבָדַיa/va/DAYmy servantsאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthatמֻנּוּmun/NUhave been appointedוִילַמְּדוּvi/lam/me/DUand teachאֶת־רְצוֹנִיet-re/tso/NImy willהַזֶּהhaz/ZEthisלַקְּדוֹשִׁיםlak/ke/do/SHIMto the saintsלְמַעַןle/MA/anthatיִהְיוּyih/YUthey may beנְכוֹנִיםne/kho/NIMreadyלָלֶכֶתla/LE/khetto goאֶלeltoאֶרֶץE/retsa landשָׁלוֹם׃sha/LOMof peace

    And let my servants that have been appointed go and teach this, my will, to the saints, that they may be ready to go to a land of peace.

    לֵךְlekhgoלְדַרְכְּךָle/dar/ke/KHAyour wayוַעֲשֵׂהva/a/SEand doכַּאֲשֶׁרka/a/SHERasאָמַרְתִּיa/MAR/tiI toldלְךָle/KHAyouוְאַלve/ALandתִּירָאti/RAfear notמֵאֹיְבֶיךָme/oy/VE/khaof your enemiesכִּיkiforלֹאlonotיִהְיֶהyih/YEshallבָהֶםva/HEMthey haveכֹּחַKO/achpowerלַעְצֹרla/TSORto stopאֶת־מְלַאכְתִּי׃et-me/lakh/TImy work

    Go thy way and do as I have told you, and fear not thine enemies; for they shall not have power to stop my work.

    צִיּוֹןTsiy/YONZionתִּגָּאֵלtig/ga/ELshall be redeemedבְּעִתִּי׃be/it/TIin my own due time

    Zion shall be redeemed in mine own due time.

19. 19

    וְאִישׁve/ISHand if any manהַמְבַקֵּשׁham/vak/KESHshall seekלִבְנוֹתliv/NOTto build upאֶת־עַצְמוֹet-ats/MOhimselfוְאֵינוֹve/e/NOand notמְבַקֵּשׁme/vak/KESHseeksעֲצָתִיa/tsa/TImy counselלֹאlonoיִהְיֶה־לּוֹyih/YE-lothere shall be to himכֹּחַKO/achpowerוְסִכְלוּתוֹve/sikh/lu/TOand his follyתִּגָּלֶה׃tig/ga/LEshall be made manifest

    And if any man shall seek to build up himself, and seeketh not my counsel, he shall have no power, and his folly shall be made manifest.

    בַּקְּשׁוּbak/ke/SHUseek youוְשִׁמְרוּve/shim/RUand keepכׇּלkolallהַבְטָחוֹתֵיכֶםhav/ta/cho/te/KHEMyour pledgesאִישׁishoneלְרֵעֵהוּle/re/E/huwith anotherוְאַלve/ALandתַּחְמֹדtach/MODcovet notאֵת־אֲשֶׁרet-a/SHERthat whichלְאָחִיךָ׃le/a/chi/KHAis your brother's

    Seek ye; and keep all your pledges one with another; and covet not that which is thy brother's.

    הִשָּׁמְרוּhish/sha/me/RUkeep yourselvesמֵרַעme/RAfrom evilלָשֵׂאתla/SETto takeאֶת־שֵׁם־יְהוָהet-shem-Adonaithe name of the Lordלַשָּׁוְאlash/SHAVin vainכִּיkiforאֲנִיa/NII amיְהוָהAdonaithe Lordאֱלֹהֵיכֶםe/lo/he/KHEMyour Godגַּםgamevenאֱלֹהֵיe/lo/HEthe Godאֲבוֹתֵיכֶםa/vo/te/KHEMof your fathersאֱלֹהֵיe/lo/HEthe GodאַבְרָהָםAv/ra/HAMof Abrahamוְיִצְחָקve/Yits/CHAKand of Isaacוְיַעֲקֹב׃ve/Ya/a/KOVand of Jacob

    Keep yourselves from evil to take the name of the Lord in vain, for I am the Lord your God, even the God of your fathers, the God of Abraham and of Isaac and of Jacob.

    I am he who led the children of Israel out of the land of Egypt; and my arm is stretched out in the last days, to save my people Israel.

    Cease to contend one with another; cease to speak evil one of another.

    חִדְלוּchid/LUceaseמִשִּׁכָּרוֹןmish/shik/ka/RONdrunkennessוְיִהְיוּve/yih/YUand let tendדִבְרֵיכֶםdiv/re/KHEMyour wordsלְבִנְיַןle/vin/YANto edifyingאִישׁishoneאֶת־רֵעֵהוּ׃et-re/e/HUanother

    Cease drunkenness; and let your words tend to edifying one another.

    אִםimifתִּלְוֶהtil/VEyou borrowמֵרֵעֶךָme/re/E/khaof your neighborתָּשִׁיבta/SHIVyou shall restoreאֵת־אֲשֶׁרet-a/SHERthat whichלָוִיתָla/vi/TAyou borrowedוְאִםve/IMand ifלֹאlonotתוּכַלtu/KHALyou canלְשַׁלֵּםle/shal/LEMrepayלֵךְlekhthen goמִיָּדmiy/YADstraightwayוְהַגֵּדve/hag/GEDand tellלְרֵעֲךָle/re/a/KHAyour neighborפֶּןpenlestיַרְשִׁיעֲךָ׃yar/shi/a/KHAhe condemn you

    If thou borrowest of thy neighbor, thou shalt restore that which thou hast borrowed; and if thou canst not repay then go straightway and tell thy neighbor, lest he condemn thee.

    אִםimifתִּמְצָאtim/TSAyou shall findאֲבֵדַתa/ve/DATthe lost thingרֵעֶךָre/E/khaof your neighborתְּחַפֵּשׂte/chap/PESyou shall make searchהֵיטֵבhe/TEVdiligentעַדaduntilהֲשִׁיבְךָha/shi/ve/KHAyou deliver againאוֹתָהּo/TAitלוֹ׃loto him

    If thou shalt find that which thy neighbor has lost, thou shalt make diligent search till thou shalt deliver it to him again.

    חָרוּץcha/RUTSdiligentתִּהְיֶהtih/YEyou shall beלִשְׁמֹרlish/MORin preservingאֶת־אֲשֶׁרet-a/SHERwhatלְךָle/KHAyou haveלְמַעַןle/MA/anthatתִּהְיֶהtih/YEyou may beלְסֹכֵןle/so/KHENa stewardחָכָםcha/KHAMwiseכִּיkiforמַתְּנַתmat/te/NATgiftחִנָּםchin/NAMof the freeהִיאhiit isמֵאֵתme/ETofיְהוָהAdonaithe Lordאֱלֹהֶיךָe/lo/HE/khayour Godוְסֹכְנוֹve/sokh/NOand his stewardאָתָּה׃at/TAyou are

    Thou shalt be diligent in preserving what thou hast, that thou mayest be a wise steward; for it is the free gift of the Lord thy God, and thou art his steward.

    אִםimifטוֹבtovmerry isלְבָבְךָle/va/ve/KHAyour heartהַלֵּלhal/LELpraiseאֶת־יְהוָהet-Adonaithe Lordבְּשִׁירָהbe/shi/RAwith singingוּבִנְגִינָהu/vin/gi/NAwith musicבְּמָחוֹלbe/ma/CHOLwith dancingוּבִתְפִלַּתu/vit/fil/LATand with a prayerתְּהִלָּהte/hil/LAof praiseוְתוֹדָה׃ve/to/DAand thanksgiving

    If thou art merry, praise the Lord with singing, with music, with dancing, and with a prayer of praise and thanksgiving.

    אִםimifנוּגֶהnu/GEsorrowfulאַתָּהat/TAyou areקְרָאke/RAcallאֶלelonיְהוָהAdonaithe Lordאֱלֹהֶיךָe/lo/HE/khayour Godבְּתַחֲנוּנִיםbe/ta/cha/nu/NIMwith supplicationלְמַעַןle/MA/anthatתִּשְׂמַחְנָהtis/MACH/namay be joyfulנַפְשֹׁתֵיכֶם׃naf/sho/te/KHEMyour souls

    If thou art sorrowful, call on the Lord thy God with supplication, that your souls may be joyful.

    אַלalnotתִּירָאti/RAbe afraidמֵאֹיְבֶיךָme/oy/VE/khaof your enemiesכִּיkiforבְיָדַיve/ya/DAYin my handsהֵםhemthey areוְאֶעֱשֶׂהve/e/e/SEand I will doבָהֶםva/HEMwith themכְּחֶפְצִי׃ke/chef/TSImy pleasure

    Fear not thine enemies, for they are in mine hands and I will do my pleasure with them.

    My people must be tried in all things, that they may be prepared to receive the glory that I have for them, even the glory of Zion; and he that will not bear chastisement is not worthy of my kingdom.

    הַבַּעַרhab/BA/arlet him that is ignorantיִלְמַדyil/MADlearnחׇכְמָהchokh/MAwisdomבְּהַכְנִיעוֹbe/hakh/ni/Oby humblingנַפְשׁוֹnaf/SHOhis soulוּבְקׇרְאוֹu/ve/kor/Oand callingאֶלeluponיְהוָהAdonaithe Lordאֱלֹהָיוe/lo/HAYVhis Godלְמַעַןle/MA/anthatיִפָּקְחוּyip/pa/ke/CHUmay be openedעֵינָיוe/NAYVhis eyesלִרְאוֹתlir/OTthat he may seeוְאׇזְנָיוve/oz/NAYVand his ears openedלִשְׁמֹעַ׃lish/MO/athat he may hear

    Let him that is ignorant learn wisdom by humbling himself and calling upon the Lord his God, that his eyes may be opened that he may see, and his ears opened that he may hear;

    כִּיkiforרוּחִיRu/CHImy Spiritשֻׁלְּחָהshul/le/CHAis sent forthבָעוֹלָםva/o/LAMinto the worldלְהָאִירle/ha/IRto enlightenלָעֲנָוִיםla/a/na/VIMthe humbleוְלַנִּדְכָּאִיםve/lan/nid/ka/IMand contriteוּלְהַרְשִׁיעַu/le/har/SHI/aand to the condemnationאֶת־הָרְשָׁעִים׃et-ha/re/sha/IMof the ungodly

    For my Spirit is sent forth into the world to enlighten the humble and contrite, and to the condemnation of the ungodly.

34. 34

    אַחֶיךָa/CHE/khayour brethrenדָּחוּda/CHUrejectedאֹתְךָot/KHAyouוְאֶתve/ETandעֵדוּתְךָe/dut/KHAyour testimonyגַּםgamevenהַגּוֹיhag/GOYthe nationאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhichגֵּרֶשְׁךָ׃ge/resh/KHAdrove you out

    Thy brethren have rejected you and your testimony, even the nation that has driven you out;

35. 35

    וְעַתָּהve/at/TAand nowבָּאbacomesיוֹםyomthe dayפֻּרְעָנוּתָםpur/a/nu/TAMof their calamityגַּםgamevenיְמֵיye/MEthe daysצָרָהtsa/RAof sorrowכְּאִשָּׁהke/ish/SHAlike a womanבַּחֲבָלֶיהָba/cha/va/LE/hathat is taken in travailוְצָרָתָםve/tsa/ra/TAMand their sorrowתִּגְדַּלtig/DALshall be greatאִםimifלֹאlonotיָשׁוּבוּya/SHU/vuthey repentמְהֵרָהme/he/RAspeedilyאָכֵןa/KHENyeaמְהֵרָהme/he/RAspeedilyמְאֹד׃me/ODvery

    And now cometh the day of their calamity, even the days of sorrow, like a woman that is taken in travail; and their sorrow shall be great unless they speedily repent, yea, very speedily.

36. 36

    כִּיkiforהָרְגוּha/re/GUthey killedאֶת־הַנְּבִיאִיםet-han/ne/vi/IMthe prophetsוְאֶתve/ETand themהַשְּׁלוּחִיםhash/she/lu/CHIMthat were sentאֲלֵיהֶםa/le/HEMunto themוַיִּשְׁפְּכוּvay/yish/pe/KHUand they shedדָםdambloodנָקִיna/KIinnocentאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhichצֹעֵקtso/EKcriesמִןminfromהָאֲדָמָהha/a/da/MAthe groundעֲלֵיהֶם׃a/le/HEMagainst them

    For they killed the prophets, and them that were sent unto them; and they have shed innocent blood, which crieth from the ground against them.

    לָכֵןla/KHENthereforeאַלalnotתִּתְמְהוּtit/me/HUmarvelעַלalatהַדְּבָרִיםhad/de/va/RIMthingsהָאֵלֶּהha/EL/letheseכִּיkiforלֹאlonotטְהוֹרִיםte/ho/RIMpureאַתֶּםat/TEMyou areעוֹדodyetלֹאlonotתוּכְלוּtukh/LUyou canלָשֵׂאתla/SETbearכְּבוֹדִיke/vo/DImy gloryעוֹדodyetאַךְakhbutתִּרְאוּהוּtir/u/HUyou shall behold itאִםimifנֶאֱמָנִיםne/e/ma/NIMfaithfulתִּהְיוּtih/YUyou areלִשְׁמֹרlish/MORin keepingאֶת־כׇּלet-kolallדְּבָרַיde/va/RAYmy wordsאֲשֶׁרa/SHERthatנָתַתִּיna/TAT/tiI gaveלָכֶםla/KHEMyouמִימֵיMI/mefrom the daysאָדָםA/DAMof AdamעַדadtoאַבְרָהָםAv/ra/HAMAbrahamוּמֵאַבְרָהָםu/Me/av/ra/HAMfrom AbrahamעַדadtoמֹשֶׁהMo/SHEMosesוּמִמֹּשֶׁהu/Mim/mo/SHEfrom MosesעַדadtoיֵשׁוּעַYe/SHU/aJesusוּשְׁלִיחָיוu/she/li/CHAYVand his apostlesוּמִיֵּשׁוּעַu/Miy/ye/SHU/aand from Jesusוּשְׁלִיחָיוu/she/li/CHAYVand his apostlesעַדadtoיוֹסֵףYo/SEFJosephסְמִיתSe/MITSmithאֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhomקָרָאתִיka/RA/tiI calledלוֹlounto himבְּיַדbe/YADby the handמַלְאָכַיmal/a/KHAYof my angelsמְשָׁרְתַיme/sha/re/TAYmy ministering servantsוּבְקוֹלִיu/ve/ko/LIand by my own voiceמִןminout ofהַשָּׁמַיִםhash/sha/MA/yimthe heavensלְהוֹצִיאle/ho/TSIto bring forthאֶת־מְלַאכְתִּי׃et-me/lakh/TImy work

    Therefore, marvel not at these things, for ye are not yet pure; ye can not yet bear my glory; but ye shall behold it if ye are faithful in keeping all my words that I have given you, from the days of Adam to Abraham, from Abraham to Moses, from Moses to Jesus and his apostles, and from Jesus and his apostles to Joseph Smith, whom I did call upon by mine angels, my ministering servants, and by mine own voice out of the heavens, to bring forth my work;

    אֲשֶׁרa/SHERwhichהִנִּיחַhin/NI/achhe laidיְסוֹדָהּye/so/DAfoundationוְנֶאֱמָןve/ne/e/MANand faithfulהָיָהha/YAwasוָאֶקָּחֵהוּva/ek/ka/che/HUand I took himאֵלַי׃e/LAYto myself

    Which foundation he did lay, and was faithful; and I took him to myself.

39. 39

    רַבִּיםrab/BIMmanyתָּמְהוּta/me/HUmarveledעַלalconcerningמוֹתוֹmo/TOhis deathאַךְakhbutנָכוֹןna/KHONneedfulהָיָהha/YAit wasלַחְתֹּםlach/TOMthat he should sealאֶת־עֵדוּתוֹet-e/du/TOhis testimonyבְּדָמוֹbe/da/MOwith his bloodלְמַעַןle/MA/anthatיְכֻבַּדye/khub/BADhe might be honoredוְהָרְשָׁעִיםve/ha/re/sha/IMand the wickedיֻרְשָׁעוּ׃yur/sha/Umight be condemned

    Many have marveled because of his death; but it was needful that he should seal his testimony with his blood, that he might be honored and the wicked might be condemned.

40. 40

    הֲלֹאha/LOhave I notהִצַּלְתִּיhits/tsal/TIdeliveredאֶתְכֶםet/KHEMyouמֵאֹיְבֵיכֶםme/oy/ve/KHEMfrom your enemiesרַקrakonly inבְּהַשְׁאִירִיbe/hash/i/RIthat I leftעֵדeda witnessלִשְׁמִי׃lish/MIof my name

    Have I not delivered you from your enemies, only in that I have left a witness of my name?

41. 41

    וְעַתָּהve/at/TAnow thereforeשִׁמְעוּshim/UhearkenעַםamO peopleכְּנֵסִיָּתִיke/ne/siy/ya/TIof my churchוְאַתֶּםve/at/TEMand youזְקֵנִיםze/ke/NIMeldersהַקְשִׁיבוּhak/SHI/vulistenיַחְדָּוyach/DAVtogetherקִבַּלְתֶּםkib/bal/TEMyou receivedאֶת־מַלְכוּתִי׃et-mal/khu/TImy kingdom

    Now, therefore, hearken, O ye people of my church; and ye elders listen together; you have received my kingdom.

42. 42

    חֲרוּצִיםcha/ru/TSIMdiligentהֱיוּhe/YUbeלִשְׁמֹרlish/MORin keepingאֶת־כׇּלet-kolallמִצְוֹתַיmits/vo/TAYmy commandmentsפֶּןpenlestיָבוֹאוּya/VO/ucomeעֲלֵיכֶםa/le/KHEMupon youמִשְׁפָּטִיםmish/pa/TIMjudgmentsוְתִכָּשֵׁלve/tik/ka/SHELand failאֱמוּנַתְכֶםe/mu/nat/KHEMyour faithוְיִגְבְּרוּve/yig/be/RUand triumphעֲלֵיכֶםa/le/KHEMover youאֹיְבֵיכֶםoy/ve/KHEMyour enemiesלֹאlonoעוֹדodmoreלָעֵתla/ETat timeהַזֹּאתhaz/ZOTthisאָמֵןa/MENAmenוְאָמֵן׃ve/a/MENand Amen

    Be diligent in keeping all my commandments, lest judgments come upon you, and your faith fail you, and your enemies triumph over you. So no more at present. Amen and Amen.
