   The Word and Will of the Lord concerning the Camp of Israel in their journeyings to the West:

   יֵעָרְכוּlet be organizedכׇּלallעַםthe people ofכְּנֵסִיַּתthe Church ofיֵשׁוּעַJesusהַמָּשִׁיחַChristשֶׁלofקְדוֹשֵׁיSaints ofאַחֲרִיתthe Latterהַיָּמִיםdaysוְהַהוֹלְכִיםand those who journeyעִמָּהֶםwith themלִמַּחֲנוֹתinto companiesבִּבְרִיתwith a covenantוּבְהַבְטָחָהand promiseלִשְׁמֹרto keepאֶת־כׇּלallמִצְווֹתthe commandments ofיְהוָהthe Lordאֱלֹהֵינוּour Godוְחֻקּוֹתָיו׃and his statutes

   Let all the people of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and those who journey with them, be organized into companies, with a covenant and promise to keep all the commandments and statutes of the Lord our God.

   יֵעָרְכוּlet be organizedהַמַּחֲנוֹתthe companiesעִםwithשָׂרֵיcaptains ofמֵאוֹתhundredsשָׂרֵיcaptains ofחֲמִשִּׁיםfiftiesוְשָׂרֵיand captains ofעֲשָׂרֹתtensעִםwithנָשִׂיאa presidentוּשְׁנֵיand his twoיוֹעֲצָיוcounselorsבְּרֹאשָׁםat their headתַּחַתunderהַנְהָגַתthe directionשְׁנֵים־עָשָׂרthe Twelveהַשְּׁלִיחִים׃Apostles

   Let the companies be organized with captains of hundreds, captains of fifties, and captains of tens, with a president and his two counselors at their head, under the direction of the Twelve Apostles.

   וְזֹאתand thisתִּהְיֶהshall beבְרִיתֵנוּour covenantכִּיthatנֵלֵךְwe will walkבְּכׇלin allחֻקּוֹתthe ordinances ofיְהוָה׃the Lord

   And this shall be our covenant—that we will walk in all the ordinances of the Lord.

   יָכִיןlet provideכׇּלeachמַחֲנֶהcompanyלְעַצְמוֹfor themselvesאֶת־כׇּלallהַצְּמָדוֹתthe teamsוְהָעֲגָלוֹתwagonsוְהַצֵּידָהprovisionsוְהַבְּגָדִיםclothingוְכׇלand allהַדְּבָרִיםthe necessariesהָאֲחֵרִיםotherלַדֶּרֶךְfor the journeyכַּאֲשֶׁרasיוּכְלוּ׃they can

   Let each company provide themselves with all the teams, wagons, provisions, clothing, and other necessaries for the journey, that they can.

   בְּהֵעָרֵךְwhen are organizedהַמַּחֲנוֹתthe companiesיֵלְכוּlet them go toבְּכׇלwith allכֹּחָםtheir mightלְהָכִיןto prepareלָאֵלֶּהfor thoseאֲשֶׁרwhoיִשְׁאֲרוּ׃are to tarry

   When the companies are organized let them go to with their might, to prepare for those who are to tarry.

   כׇּלlet eachמַחֲנֶהcompanyעִםwithשָׂרָיוtheir captainsוּנְשִׂיאָיוand presidentsיִמְנוּdecideכַּמָּהhow manyיוּכְלוּcanלָצֵאתgoבָּאָבִיבspringהַבָּאnextוְאָזthenיִבְחֲרוּchoose outמִסְפַּרa sufficient number ofאֲנָשִׁיםmenחֲזָקִיםable bodiedוִידֻעִיםand expertלָקַחַתto takeצְמָדוֹתteamsוּזְרָעִיםseedsוּכְלֵיandחֲרִישָׁהfarming utensilsלָלֶכֶתto goכְּחָלוּצִיםas pioneersלְהָכִיןto prepare for putting inזֶרַעcropsהָאָבִיב׃spring

   Let each company, with their captains and presidents, decide how many can go next spring; then choose out a sufficient number of able-bodied and expert men, to take teams, seeds, and farming utensils, to go as pioneers to prepare for putting in spring crops.

   יִשָּׂאlet bearכׇּלeachמַחֲנֶהcompanyחֵלֶקproportionשָׁוֶהan equalכְּפִיaccording toחֶלְקַתthe dividend ofרְכוּשׁוֹtheir propertyלָקַחַתin takingאֶת־הָעֲנִיִּיםthe poorוְאֶתandהָאַלְמָנוֹתthe widowsוְאֶתandהַיְתוֹמִיםthe fatherlessוְאֶתandמִשְׁפְּחוֹתthe familiesהַיּוֹצְאִיםof those who have goneלַצָּבָאinto the armyלְמַעַןthatלֹאnotתַעֲלֶהcome upצַעֲקַתthe cries ofהָאַלְמָנָהthe widowוְהַיָּתוֹםand the fatherlessבְּאׇזְנֵיinto the ears ofיְהוָהthe Lordעַלagainstהָעָםpeopleהַזֶּה׃this

   Let each company bear an equal proportion, according to the dividend of their property, in taking the poor, the widows, the fatherless, and the families of those who have gone into the army, that the cries of the widow and the fatherless come not up into the ears of the Lord against this people.

   יָכִיןlet prepareכׇּלeveryמַחֲנֶהcompanyבָּתִּיםhousesוְשָׂדוֹתand fieldsלִזְרֹעַfor raisingתְּבוּאָהgrainלָאֵלֶּהfor thoseאֲשֶׁרwhoיִשָּׁאֲרוּare to remain behindבָּעוֹנָהseasonהַזֹּאתthisוְזֶהand this isרְצוֹןthe will ofיְהוָהthe Lordעַלconcerningעַמּוֹ׃his people

   Let each company prepare houses, and fields for raising grain, for those who are to remain behind this season; and this is the will of the Lord concerning his people.

    יִתֵּןlet useכׇּלeveryאִישׁmanאֶת־כׇּלallכֹּחוֹhis influenceוּרְכוּשׁוֹand propertyלְהַעֲבִירto removeאֶת־הָעָםpeopleהַזֶּהthisאֶלtoהַמָּקוֹםthe placeאֲשֶׁרwhereיָקִיםshall locateיְהוָהthe Lordיָתֵדa stakeצִיּוֹן׃of Zion

    Let every man use all his influence and property to remove this people to the place where the Lord shall locate a stake of Zion.

11. 11

    וְאִםand ifתַּעֲשׂוּyou doזֹאתthisבְּלֵבheartטָהוֹרwith a pureוּבְכׇלin allאֱמוּנָהfaithfulnessתְּבֹרָכוּyou shall be blessedתְּבֹרְכוּyou shall be blessedבְּעֶדְרֵיכֶםin your flocksוּבִבְקַרְכֶםand in your herdsוּבְשָׂדוֹתֵיכֶםand in your fieldsוּבְבָתֵּיכֶםand in your housesוּבְמִשְׁפְּחוֹתֵיכֶם׃and in your families

    And if ye do this with a pure heart, in all faithfulness, ye shall be blessed; you shall be blessed in your flocks, and in your herds, and in your fields, and in your houses, and in your families.

    יַעַרְכוּlet organizeעֲבָדַיmy servantsעֶזְרָאEzraט.T.בֶּנְסוֹןBensonוַאֲרַסְטוֹסand ErastusסְנוֹSnowמַחֲנֶה׃a company

    Let my servants Ezra T. Benson and Erastus Snow organize a company.

    וְיַעַרְכוּand let organizeעֲבָדַיmy servantsאוֹרְסוֹןOrsonפְּרֶטPrattוְוִילְפוֹרְדand WilfordווּדְרָףWoodruffמַחֲנֶה׃a company

    And let my servants Orson Pratt and Wilford Woodruff organize a company.

14. 14

    וְגַםAlsoיַעַרְכוּlet organizeעֲבָדַיmy servantsאֲמַסָהAmasaלִימָןLymanוְג׳וֹרְג׳and Georgeאֵי.A.סְמִיתSmithמַחֲנֶה׃a company

    Also, let my servants Amasa Lyman and George A. Smith organize a company.

15. 15

    וְהַפְקִידוּand appointנְשִׂיאִיםpresidentsוְשָׂרֵיand captains ofמֵאוֹתhundredsוְשָׂרֵיand captains ofחֲמִשִּׁיםfiftiesוְשָׂרֵיand captains ofעֲשָׂרֹת׃tens

    And appoint presidents, and captains of hundreds, and of fifties, and of tens.

16. 16

    וְיֵלְכוּand let goעֲבָדַיmy servantsאֲשֶׁרthatמֻנּוּhave been appointedוִילַמְּדוּand teachאֶת־רְצוֹנִיmy willזֶהthisלַקְּדוֹשִׁיםto the saintsלְמַעַןthatיִהְיוּthey may beנְכוֹנִיםreadyלָלֶכֶתto goאֶלtoאֶרֶץa landשָׁלוֹם׃of peace

    And let my servants that have been appointed go and teach this, my will, to the saints, that they may be ready to go to a land of peace.

17. 17

    לֵךְgoלְדַרְכְּךָyour wayוַעֲשֵׂהand doכַּאֲשֶׁרasאָמַרְתִּיI have toldלְךָyouוְאַלandתִּירָאfear notמֵאֹיְבֶיךָof your enemiesכִּיforלֹאnotיִהְיֶהshallבָהֶםthey haveכֹּחַpowerלַעְצֹרto stopאֶת־מְלַאכְתִּי׃my work

    Go thy way and do as I have told you, and fear not thine enemies; for they shall not have power to stop my work.

18. 18

    צִיּוֹןZionתִּגָּאֵלshall be redeemedבְּעִתִּי׃in my own due time

    Zion shall be redeemed in mine own due time.

19. 19

    וְאִישׁand if any manהַמְבַקֵּשׁshall seekלִבְנוֹתto build upאֶת־עַצְמוֹhimselfוְאֵינוֹand notמְבַקֵּשׁseeksעֲצָתִיmy counselלֹאnoיִהְיֶה־לּוֹthere shall be to himכֹּחַpowerוְסִכְלוּתוֹand his follyתִּגָּלֶה׃shall be made manifest

    And if any man shall seek to build up himself, and seeketh not my counsel, he shall have no power, and his folly shall be made manifest.

20. 20

    בַּקְּשׁוּSeek youוְשִׁמְרוּand keepכׇּלallהַבְטָחוֹתֵיכֶםyour pledgesאִישׁoneלְרֵעֵהוּwith anotherוְאַלandתַּחְמֹדcovet notאֵת־אֲשֶׁרthat whichלְאָחִיךָ׃is your brother's

    Seek ye; and keep all your pledges one with another; and covet not that which is thy brother's.

21. 21

    הִשָּׁמְרוּKeep yourselvesמֵרַעfrom evilלָשְׂאֵתto takeאֶת־שֵׁם־יְהוָהthe name of the Lordלַשָּׁוְאin vainכִּיforאֲנִיI amיְהוָהthe Lordאֱלֹהֵיכֶםyour Godגַּםevenאֱלֹהֵיthe God ofאֲבוֹתֵיכֶםyour fathersאֱלֹהֵיthe God ofאַבְרָהָםAbrahamוְיִצְחָקand of Isaacוְיַעֲקֹב׃and of Jacob

    Keep yourselves from evil to take the name of the Lord in vain, for I am the Lord your God, even the God of your fathers, the God of Abraham and of Isaac and of Jacob.

22. 22

    אֲנִיI amהוּאheאֲשֶׁרwhoהוֹצֵאתִיled outאֶת־בְּנֵיthe children ofיִשְׂרָאֵלIsraelמֵאֶרֶץof the landמִצְרָיִםof Egyptוּזְרוֹעִיand my armנְטוּיָהis stretched outבְּאַחֲרִיתin the lastהַיָּמִיםdaysלְהוֹשִׁיעַto saveאֶת־עַמִּיmy peopleיִשְׂרָאֵל׃Israel

    I am he who led the children of Israel out of the land of Egypt; and my arm is stretched out in the last days, to save my people Israel.

23. 23

    חִדְלוּCeaseלָרִיבto contendאִישׁoneבְּרֵעֵהוּwith anotherחִדְלוּceaseלְדַבֵּרto speakרָעevilאִישׁoneעַלofרֵעֵהוּ׃another

    Cease to contend one with another; cease to speak evil one of another.

24. 24

    חִדְלוּCeaseמִשִּׁכָּרוֹןdrunkennessוְיִהְיוּand let tendדִבְרֵיכֶםyour wordsלְבִנְיַןto edifyingאִישׁoneאֶת־רֵעֵהוּ׃another

    Cease drunkenness; and let your words tend to edifying one another.

25. 25

    אִםifתִּלְוֶהyou borrowמֵרֵעֶךָof your neighborתָּשִׁיבyou shall restoreאֵת־אֲשֶׁרthat whichלָוִיתָyou have borrowedוְאִםand ifלֹאnotתוּכַלyou canלְשַׁלֵּםrepayלֵךְthen goמִיָּדstraightwayוְהַגֵּדand tellלְרֵעֶךָyour neighborפֶּןlestיַרְשִׁיעֲךָ׃he condemn you

    If thou borrowest of thy neighbor, thou shalt restore that which thou hast borrowed; and if thou canst not repay then go straightway and tell thy neighbor, lest he condemn thee.

26. 26

    אִםifתִּמְצָאyou shall findאֲבֵדַתthe lost thing ofרֵעֶךָyour neighborתְּחַפֵּשׂyou shall make searchהֵיטֵבdiligentעַדuntilהֲשִׁיבְךָyou deliver againאוֹתָהּitלוֹ׃to him

    If thou shalt find that which thy neighbor has lost, thou shalt make diligent search till thou shalt deliver it to him again.

27. 27

    חָרוּץdiligentתִּהְיֶהyou shall beלִשְׁמֹרin preservingאֶת־אֲשֶׁרwhatלְךָyou haveלְמַעַןthatתִּהְיֶהyou may beלְסֹכֵןa stewardחָכָםwiseכִּיforמַתְּנַתgift ofחִנָּםthe freeהִיאit isמֵאֵתofיְהוָהthe Lordאֱלֹהֶיךָyour Godוְסֹכְנוֹand his stewardאָתָּה׃you are

    Thou shalt be diligent in preserving what thou hast, that thou mayest be a wise steward; for it is the free gift of the Lord thy God, and thou art his steward.

28. 28

    אִםifטוֹבmerry isלְבָבְךָyour heartהַלֵּלpraiseאֶת־יְהוָהthe Lordבְּשִׁירָהwith singingוּבִנְגִינָהwith musicבְּמָחוֹלwith dancingוּבִתְפִלַּתand with a prayerתְּהִלָּהof praiseוְתוֹדָה׃and thanksgiving

    If thou art merry, praise the Lord with singing, with music, with dancing, and with a prayer of praise and thanksgiving.

29. 29

    אִםifנוּגֶהsorrowfulאַתָּהyou areקְרָאcallאֶלonיְהוָהthe Lordאֱלֹהֶיךָyour Godבְּתַחֲנוּנִיםwith supplicationלְמַעַןthatתִּשְׂמַחְנָהmay be joyfulנַפְשֹׁתֵיכֶם׃your souls

    If thou art sorrowful, call on the Lord thy God with supplication, that your souls may be joyful.

30. 30

    אַלnotתִּירָאbe afraidמֵאֹיְבֶיךָof your enemiesכִּיforבְיָדִיin my handsהֵםthey areוְאֶעֱשֶׂהand I will doבָהֶםwith themכְּחֶפְצִי׃my pleasure

    Fear not thine enemies, for they are in mine hands and I will do my pleasure with them.

31. 31

    עַמִּיmy peopleיְנֻסֶּהmust be triedבְּכֹלin all thingsלְמַעַןthatיִהְיוּthey may beמוּכָנִיםpreparedלְקַבֵּלto receiveאֶת־הַכָּבוֹדthe gloryאֲשֶׁרthatיֶשׁ־לִיhave Iלָהֶםfor themגַּםevenכְּבוֹדthe glory ofצִיּוֹןZionוַאֲשֶׁרand he thatלֹאwill notיִשָּׂאbearמוּסָרchastisementאֵינוֹis notרָאוּיworthyלְמַלְכוּתִי׃of my kingdom

    My people must be tried in all things, that they may be prepared to receive the glory that I have for them, even the glory of Zion; and he that will not bear chastisement is not worthy of my kingdom.

32. 32

    הַבַּעַרlet him that is ignorantיִלְמַדlearnחׇכְמָהwisdomבְּהַכְנִיעוֹby humblingנַפְשׁוֹhis soulוּבְקָרְאוֹand callingאֶלuponיְהוָהthe Lordאֱלֹהָיוhis Godלְמַעַןthatיִפָּקְחוּmay be openedעֵינָיוhis eyesלִרְאוֹתthat he may seeוְאׇזְנָיוand his ears openedלִשְׁמֹעַ׃that he may hear

    Let him that is ignorant learn wisdom by humbling himself and calling upon the Lord his God, that his eyes may be opened that he may see, and his ears opened that he may hear;

33. 33

    כִּיforרוּחִיmy Spiritשֻׁלְּחָהis sent forthבָעוֹלָםinto the worldלְהָאִירto enlightenלָעֲנָוִיםthe humbleוְלַנִּדְכָּאִיםand contriteוּלְהַרְשִׁיעַand to the condemnation ofאֶת־הָרְשָׁעִים׃the ungodly

    For my Spirit is sent forth into the world to enlighten the humble and contrite, and to the condemnation of the ungodly.

34. 34

    אַחֶיךָYour brethrenדָּחוּhave rejectedאֹתְךָyouוְאֶתandעֵדוּתְךָyour testimonyגַּםevenהַגּוֹיthe nationאֲשֶׁרwhichגֵּרֶשְׁךָ׃has driven you out

    Thy brethren have rejected you and your testimony, even the nation that has driven you out;

35. 35

    וְעַתָּהand nowבָּאcomesיוֹםthe day ofפֻּרְעָנוּתָםtheir calamityגַּםevenיְמֵיthe days ofצָרָהsorrowכְּאִשָּׁהlike a womanבְּחֶבְלֶיהָthat is taken in travailוְצָרָתָםand their sorrowתִּגְדַּלshall be greatאִםifלֹאnotיָשׁוּבוּthey repentמְהֵרָהspeedilyאָכֵןyeaמְהֵרָהspeedilyמְאֹד׃very

    And now cometh the day of their calamity, even the days of sorrow, like a woman that is taken in travail; and their sorrow shall be great unless they speedily repent, yea, very speedily.

36. 36

    כִּיforהָרְגוּthey killedאֶת־הַנְּבִיאִיםthe prophetsוְאֶתand themהַשְּׁלוּחִיםthat were sentאֲלֵיהֶםunto themוְשָׁפְכוּand they have shedדָםbloodנָקִיinnocentאֲשֶׁרwhichצֹעֵקcriesמִןfromהָאֲדָמָהthe groundעֲלֵיהֶם׃against them

    For they killed the prophets, and them that were sent unto them; and they have shed innocent blood, which crieth from the ground against them.

37. 37

    לָכֵןthereforeאַלnotתִּתְמְהוּmarvelעַלatהַדְּבָרִיםthingsהָאֵלֶּהtheseכִּיforלֹאnotטְהוֹרִיםpureאַתֶּםyou areעוֹדyetלֹאnotתוּכְלוּyou canלָשֵׂאתbearכְּבוֹדִיmy gloryעוֹדyetאַךְbutתִּרְאוּהוּyou shall behold itאִםifנֶאֱמָנִיםfaithfulתִּהְיוּyou areלִשְׁמֹרin keepingאֶת־כׇּלallדְּבָרַיmy wordsאֲשֶׁרthatנָתַתִּיI have givenלָכֶםyouמִימֵיfrom the daysאָדָםof AdamעַדtoאַבְרָהָםAbrahamוּמֵאַבְרָהָםfrom AbrahamעַדtoמֹשֶׁהMosesוּמִמֹּשֶׁהfrom MosesעַדtoיֵשׁוּעַJesusוּשְׁלִיחָיוand his apostlesוּמִיֵּשׁוּעַand from Jesusוּשְׁלִיחָיוand his apostlesעַדtoיוֹסֵףJosephסְמִיתSmithאֲשֶׁרwhomקָרָאתִיI did callלוֹunto himבְּיַדby the hand ofמַלְאָכַיmy angelsמְשָׁרְתַיmy ministering servantsוּבְקוֹלִיand by my own voiceמִןout ofהַשָּׁמָיִםthe heavensלְהוֹצִיאto bring forthאֶת־מְלַאכְתִּי׃my work

    Therefore, marvel not at these things, for ye are not yet pure; ye can not yet bear my glory; but ye shall behold it if ye are faithful in keeping all my words that I have given you, from the days of Adam to Abraham, from Abraham to Moses, from Moses to Jesus and his apostles, and from Jesus and his apostles to Joseph Smith, whom I did call upon by mine angels, my ministering servants, and by mine own voice out of the heavens, to bring forth my work;

38. 38

    אֲשֶׁרwhichהִנִּיחַhe did layיְסוֹדָהּfoundationוְנֶאֱמָןand faithfulהָיָהwasוְאֶקָּחֵהוּand I took himאֵלַי׃to myself

    Which foundation he did lay, and was faithful; and I took him to myself.

39. 39

    רַבִּיםManyתָּמְהוּhave marveledעַלconcerningמוֹתוֹhis deathאַךְbutנָכוֹןneedfulהָיָהit wasלַחְתֹּםthat he should sealאֶת־עֵדוּתוֹhis testimonyבְּדָמוֹwith his bloodלְמַעַןthatיְכֻבַּדhe might be honoredוְהָרְשָׁעִיםand the wickedיֻרְשָׁעוּ׃might be condemned

    Many have marveled because of his death; but it was needful that he should seal his testimony with his blood, that he might be honored and the wicked might be condemned.

40. 40

    הֲלֹאHave I notהִצַּלְתִּיdeliveredאֶתְכֶםyouמֵאֹיְבֵיכֶםfrom your enemiesרַקonly inבְּהַשְׁאִירִיthat I have leftעֵדa witnessלִשְׁמִי׃of my name

    Have I not delivered you from your enemies, only in that I have left a witness of my name?

41. 41

    וְעַתָּהnow thereforeשִׁמְעוּhearkenעַםO people ofכְּנֵסִיָּתִיmy churchוְאַתֶּםand youזְקֵנִיםeldersהַקְשִׁיבוּlistenיַחְדָּוtogetherקִבַּלְתֶּםyou have receivedאֶת־מַלְכוּתִי׃my kingdom

    Now, therefore, hearken, O ye people of my church; and ye elders listen together; you have received my kingdom.

42. 42

    חֲרוּצִיםdiligentהֱיוּBeלִשְׁמֹרin keepingאֶת־כׇּלallמִצְווֹתַיmy commandmentsפֶּןlestיָבוֹאוּcomeעֲלֵיכֶםupon youמִשְׁפָּטִיםjudgmentsוְתִכָּשֵׁלand failאֱמוּנַתְכֶםyour faithוְיִגְבְּרוּand triumphעֲלֵיכֶםover youאֹיְבֵיכֶםand your enemiesלֹאnoעוֹדmoreלָעֵתat timeהַזֹּאתthisאָמֵןAmenוְאָמֵן׃and Amen

    Be diligent in keeping all my commandments, lest judgments come upon you, and your faith fail you, and your enemies triumph over you. So no more at present. Amen and Amen.
